I have to admit, I am a hard critic when it comes to my Mexican food reviews. I can appreciate Tex-Mex, but I don't want that to be the only option for Mexican food. Casa Maria is a pleasant surprise, I found a gem. The flavor of the food is fantastic & their enchiladas mexicana's are packeted with flavor that reminds me of my mom's cooking. Needless to say, I recommend Casa Maria to anyone who wants a great meal with tons of the Mexican flavor you want in your food. Also, they have that Tex-Mex flare you may be used to and are looking for. One last touch, Beto the owner is a standup guy who treated us like family and I had never met the man until our visit to the restaurant. read more

Good Mexican food and good service. The dishes were fresh, the margaritas were good and the restaurant was clean. They service both red and green sauce with the chips. Probably one of my all time like top 3 Mexican eats, it's one of my favs. Starting off I came here 24/7 as a kid, all the time. It's not only a sense of nostalgia but a sense of comfort anytime I stop by. The food is delicious to start off. I love their queso, you have to get it !! Trust me. Their Fajitas poblano is my go to! It's delicious!! The service has always been fantastic! The restaurant itself is in a shopping strip & interior is nothing too special but decently spacious. First, let's talk the chips n salsa. I know that for me is a big factor when I go to a Mexican restaurant. The chips were arm and crisp. They had a red salsa not so spicy with great flavor and then they also had a green salsa more authentic similar to what you would find at taco truck that packed some heat. They have a pretty large menu with lots of lunch special options. I'm a fan of their taco salad with beef fajita, imo they give you a good portion of meat! Servers are nice and just the right bit of attentive. I love the windows on the tops of the walls that are painting to look like they are looking out into a Mexican village. We tried this place years ago and then moved out of town. Been back a few years and just recently went back 3 weeks ago. We've been back once a week since then and it's now our regular Mexican food spot. read more

We were really looking forward to some good Mexican food and decided to give Casa Maria a try. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, but our visit was a letdown from start to finish. For a meal that cost us over $70 (plus a 20% tip), we expected at least something decent, but what we got was honestly just awful. We ordered the chicken fajitas for two, chicken fajita nachos, and an order of chile con queso. Every single dish was completely bland--there were no spices, no flavor, nothing that even remotely resembled Mexican cuisine. It was as if all the seasoning had been left out entirely. I felt as if we chosen to have dinner in Nebraska. Mexican food in general should be bursting with flavor--cumin, chili powder, paprika, lime juice, and more can make such a difference, but here at this location in Texas there was nothing! Even the Mexican rice and charro beans were completely tasteless. The salsa looked and tasted like heavily watered-down tomato sauce. Given the price, I expected so much more. Instead, we left unsatisfied and completely frustrated. I can't recommend Casa Maria to anyone looking for Mexican food or even just a meal with some flavor. So disappointing. Stick to restaurants you know and won't disappoint. read more

My rating is only based on what I've had from Casa Maria. It's located in a strip mall on Fri near Clay rd. I have passed the location several times and there always seems to be a lot of cars so I figured let me hit this spot up for my nacho craving. Walked in the live band was playing music. Looking at the menu they have a lot to offer. But I was there to get my nacho fix on. I ordered the nachos with fajita chicken and I wanted queso instead of the shredded cheese. Service was quick. My rating is only based on what I had. I will say that I was not a big fan of the nacho. I probably will not be back anytime soon. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would 100% do that. I ordered the chile rellano and it was by far the worst thing I have ever tasted. There was no flavor just a mushy pepper covered in sauce which was also disgusting. The corn taco tortilla shells tasted as if they were stale and came right out of a bag. So the wife said, there's a Mexican restaurant next to specs. We we're Christmas shopping and we were hungry. I remembered going there years ago, but never went back. Now I remember. Staff was ok, sometimes there were 3 people checking on you at once, when you need something, there is no one. Wife got white enchiladas, 2 had melted cheese, one had mushy cheese. I had a chili relleno in a tomato sauce. Swimming in a sweet tomato sauce. I paid for mine, ate half, went and got tacos at the truck. It was better. The staff looked at me sideways when I said our food was not good. It shouldn't have been a surprise to them. They know their food is not good. read more

Horrible food! Will never go here again. I do not recommend eating here. I had the Chili Rellenos that was stuffed with shrimp. The shrimp tasted like cocktail shrimp out of a bag that was frozen. The Poblano pepper was very soggy and Tasted freezer burned. The red sauce tasted like catsup The refried beans and rice had no flavor at all. My date had the chicken fajitas that had no flavor and the texture was like it had been microwaved. We both have had a bad stomach since we left the restaurant. I had diarrhea the next morning. By far the worse Mexican food I've had in Texas and not to mention the customer service. The puerto Vallarta plate is a basic dish that an elementary child could make, ketchup for the enchilada sauce? That's right as soon as you look at the enchiladas all you see is ketchup and the taste is so gross. The customer service is awful. I do not like writing bad reviews for businesses but this one really hit my nerves, our check was over $60 and they noticed we hardly ate any of the food and that says a lot when a customer doesn't eat their food but still they didn't care to ask. My partner complained and only received a credit of $7 and no apologies or any interest to gain our trust as a customer and to encourage us to make it right or for us to come back. Definitely do not recommend this place it is very disappointing. read more

They raised prices some time ago and food is average Tex Mex. Their frozen margaritas rate high most times but our last visit they seemed to have dialed back the liquor content. Most times, however, the margaritas have been great. Service is always above average here! read more

Not only is this place extremely over priced but it's also absolutely horrible. I'm not sure how anyone can give this place 5 stars. The food is not authentic at all so if that's what you're looking for save yourself the trouble. I ordered the chicken flautas and was extremely disappointed. It took awhile for my food to come out and once it finally arrived it was cold. The chicken was extremely bland and had no flavor what's so ever. My dad ordered the beef enchiladas and said the sauce tasted like it came straight out of the can. Do not get me wrong the costumer service was amazing. The waiters were friendly and very attentive, but that doesn't make up for the food. My brother ordered a quesadilla and ended up feeling extremely sick after. If you're looking for good, AUTHENTIC, and actually tasty mexican food I definitely would not recommend this restaurant as opposed to others. read more
