Las Mañanitas, our family's go to spot for over 10 years. We love coming here for good ol Tex Mex. This isn't no fancy upper scale Mexican restaurant like Gringos or Pappasitos, it's a local spot that hold a special place in my heart. The food is always solid and the queso is some of the best in the restaurant scene here. I love that they always come with the flour tortilla chips. It's pretty consistent every time we go. You don't have to worry about waiting to be seated here, this is a local "hole in the wall" you could say. So no matter the time of day, you don't have to worry about waiting to be seated. The staff is very friendly, a lot of them have been working there for years. Service is quick as well. When seated you get chips and salsa, sometimes they don't bring out the green salsa so you might need to ask for it. The green salsa is my sister's favorite. For appetizers we always get the chile con queso, we really love the queso here! We have also had the queso fundido with chorizo, really good. But greasy which is expected from the chorizo. But the cheese they use and the flour tortillas are really good. For dinner today I had a fajita combo with bacon wrapped shrimp (I forgot what this was called on the menu) The fajitas here are always solid. The bacon wrapped shrimp were good as well, but were lacking in the jalapeño department as you could see in my photo, but the onions, the chicken, shrimp and beef, everything taste good. Honestly, the fajita combo for one is enough to feed two people, especially with the amount of tortillas. You would just need to order another side of rice and beans. The flour tortillas I'm pretty sure are made in house and are always good. Unfortunately the corn tortillas are not made in house. I have also had their seafood chicken in the past, which is really good. The white sauce on top of the chicken is absolutely delicious and creamy. I have also had the enchiladas verdes, those are good as well. If you're a fan of Micheladas, this is definitely a place to go and have some Micheladas. Here they are really really good! I had a a Miche- Rita tonight , which is a mixture of a Michelada mix and a margarita. It was so good!but be warned it is spicy, but a good spicy.They have a good Miche mix I think this is a great spot for lunch or family dinners. I'm so disappointed in my dish (Parrilla Mixta For Two Or Three). The chicken looked, tasted, and felt by the texture it was from frozen food as well as the corn tortillas was very hard. The price was $60 for the dish and did not live up at all to the expectations. I'd rather go to Los Cucos if I'm looking for a decent Tex-Mex. Just picked up takeout of chicken flauntas and was disappointed in the taste and quality that I remember during Covid. More attention was given back then because restaurants needed business. The entire meal was tasteless. No Mexican Tex-Mex seasoning at all and they now they serving that orange cheese whiz :-( ugh instead of making the real queso homemade; also guacamole is from a can; nothing homemade. Nothing tasted fresh or authentic. I should have know when I walked in on a Friday and restaurant not crowded. The entire meal lacked seasoning and the flautas was greasy. I had not been to this place in a while and it's just not th same since Covid and won't be back. It's just irks me and darn shame how much we pay and is overcharge for food that is subpar. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our lunch here. The queso and chips were yummy, he loved his barbacoa taco plate, and I liked the beef quesadillas. However, there was a little too much grease on these dishes, so beware of that. They also charge for each hot sauce, small thing of jalapeños, and pico which we thought was too extra. Las Mananitas serves delicious Mexican food! Their service is a little slow but their food comes out incredibly fast and it's so well made. The waiter did all he could do to accommodate me so props to him . It's not his fault it Management or the owners . I've come here a few times and I must say that they are very prompt with their service. They really know how to treat you as a customer. Now on to the food: tonight I had the chimichanga with two prickly cactus margaritas (yes they are strong and yes I'm writing this a little tipsy) and everything was very good. They do push a LOT of grease your way so watch out. For the chimichanga, I would give it a 3.5/5 only because of the greasiness and the soggy non fried tortilla. If you want genuine Tex Mex, this is IT. We've come here ever since it opened, and every other restaurant that has tried to compete just pales in comparison. We always get one or two Katy combos with charro beans and beef fajitas and a small queso to split. It's a little bit of everything on a plate. Other favs include the spinach quesadillas, chicken fajitas, and chicken quesadillas. Food Pros: A booooozy house margarita The green sauce is everything. I could eat a full bowl of it and still never get sick of it. The best cheese enchiladas. Food Cons: Charro beans can be a little watery, but that's just me being picky. Went to one of my favorite restaurants...Las Manianitas for appetizers and drinks. They added a new Margarita flight to the menu and it was so great! It comes with four six ounce Margaritas that are perfect to share with friends if you are not a big drinker. Absolutely delicious flavors. We had the Strawberry, Mango, Cucumber and Prickly Pear and they were all so good, but Cucumber was my favorite! It tasted like Cucumber Agua Fresca with tequila in ti of course! Order to go: We ordered beef fajitas for two. Price is excellent, flavor profile is straight ahead: grilled beef, rice, refried beans, guacamole...all good. Chips are thin and crispy. All the components are at the bar standard with no gimmicks. The "house mix" margaritas were a little heavy on the mix flavor. I'll probably pony up for the higher quality tequila next time. Friendly service and fabulous food! The dining room is open during this time of Covid. The restaurant is clean and seating is spaced out. They start you off with chips and warm salsa. I swear I can drink the salsa alone. I then ordered a virgin cactus margarita, which I highly recommend because it is just amazing. I got the Las Mananitas special because I was craving a little bit of everything (taco, enchilada, chile relleno). It tasted glorious. Perfectly seasoned and lots of flavor. Being hungry and at the back of 30 cars waiting for a green light, I saw Las Mananitas to my right. I looked it up on Yelp and saw it had been given 4 stars. There were also a lot of cars parked in front of it, at the strip center. I thought I should try this place. I was surprised when I walked in and saw the restaurant at only 30% capacity, at peak lunch hour. The parked cars were obviously another cliental. Quite frankly, I thought $17 for cheese enchiladas was over-priced. The house margarita was $9. I obviously would only consider drinking here for happy hour. I will add that you get 3 with the enchilada plates, rice and beans. My issue is that I can barely eat 2 and don't want to pay for 3. I ended up getting combo fajitas for one $23. They were good, but not in a way that I will remember in days to come. Like Cadillac Bar, the Pico, Guac and Sour Cream portions were not sufficient to make 3 tacos, based on the generous portion of meat. Cheese, again, was extra. If you're going to charge $23 for fajitas, cheese should be included in the price. I normally don't care for the rice and beans and would just as soon not have them. A friend and I decided to stop in. It's In a strip mall. Nice interior and the service was very good. Decided on beef fajitas and got two ground beef enchiladas. Service was very prompt, but the food was average. Nothing wrong with it. I love beef fajitas, but like them marinaded. These to me were just salt and peppered and grilled. My waitress is andrea, very nice, and take care of us well.I gave 5 start for service and 4 3.5 for food. My husband (One of enchilada )a bit salty but my beef is notbenougj salt however very tender_ a plus..green salsa very liquid .the red one taste better..over all.they are ok to eat..the good service made food taste better. So, I have been here several times. The location is great, the food is hit or miss, but a few friends & I tried again today. The service was 'eehh' at best. I would expect service to be better & to at least get drinks within 10 minutes. This was not the case. I did notice that it's the same server I've had on multiple occasions. The service was mediocre, at best; it certainly wasn't with a smile. We were almost ignored until one of our friends showed up & suddenly, we had service! I'm not one to complain, but lack of service, food that was lukewarm & food taken away before we were finished without asking was enough to stop me & our crew from wanting to spend our money here. Went to Las Mañanitas for dinner on a Sunday evening. Had a large table next to us so we opted to move outside since it was a nice day and the outside seating was empty. Service was great! Fresh chips and warm red sauce was a nice touch. The food was just okay. Ordered the chicken nachos as an appetizer and was disappointed with the pickled jalapeños that tasted like something I could've bought at H-E-B and the chicken on the nachos was processed meat - not fresh. I've definitely had better Mexican food in HTX. The one thing I would go back for is the red sauce and whatever spicy sauce is on the Camarones a la Diabla. The spicy sauce mixed with the red sauce took that dish up a notch! Nice size jumbo shrimp and that freakin sauce! Pretty sure I'd opt for another option when wanting Mexican food for a cheat meal, but I'd make the drive for a to-go order of the red sauce. read more

Every time we come to town for a horse show we eat here. Many times we eat here multiple days. We are usually a large party and the service is always friendly and prompt. They know who we are as soon as we walk in even though we only come about two to three times per year. Several people in our party will order the quail and they love it. Nothing crazy here, just a good and consistent Tex-Mex option in Katy. We enjoyed our chimichanga, which was a standout menu item, and our chalupas. Though these felt more like tostadas, they were still delicious and were loaded with toppings. However the star of the show was the margaritas. They were huge and strong but didn't taste like just alcohol. Whichever tequila they use is great! Our waiter was kind and checked back often.
