Service was slow, 2 people working the floor and they had a good saturday lunch crowd. all of the food tasted good, hot, and fresh. We went there for the first time and the food was phenomenal. I ordered the chicken , steak and shrimp fajitas with the side of rice and refried beans with sour cream, lettuce and guacamole. This place is a little confusing to find as it says Mexican grill on the outside sign. Once you park though, you will see that the sign is on the door. We were greeted by the friendly cashier when we walked in. Our waiter could not have been nicer to us as well. They were so fast to take care of us as well. I went with a combination as I couldn't decide what to order. You can pick just about any Mexican entrees to have that you like with a pick your own combination. Everything was outstanding and very hot and fresh. We also enjoyed the margarita that had a good mixture of everything. This is a little gem of a Mexican food place tucked into a strip mall. And I'm from Texas, so I KNOW good Mexican food. The margaritas, both frozen & on the rocks were spot-on. The cheese dip with ground meat & pick de gallo was delish with warm, crisp tortilla chips. Although the cheese was a little thin it was perfect with the pico added in. The quesadillas were stuffed full of fajita meat, onions, peppers & cheese. Really yummy & large enough for 2 people to share. Our waitress, Angelica, was very pleasant, helpful & efficient. Tried El Torero for the first time today. Our server was great and I love his live energy. It's in the same shopping center as Osaka near Mugshots and the movie theater on Lakeland. It just says "Mexican Grill" outside. Taco Tuesday is $0.99 each. My Coworker and I ordered the Lunch Special #1. I opted for the regular chili relleno that had the meat and she chose the poblano which is cheese only. The queso was good but watery at first so you have to let it cool and thicken up some. Guacamole salad was fresh tasting and it appeared to have some cheese in it. The unsweetened tea was delicious.,it tasted like tea..if you know what I mean. The chips were nothing to rave about and they weren't warm if you like warm chips. Salsa was good but not Omg-good. Pico de Gallo needed a tad more tomatoes. I didn't really like my regular chili relleno. I thought the meat tasted funny but my coworker said that's just a different flavor it took on. I think I'll try the poblano next time. The tacos had a ton of cheese and the meat was very flavorful. Service was fast and easy to check out. The ticket isn't itemized by specific items..just the amounts printed out on register paper so make sure you figure out what's what before you pay. read more

First time trying this place and it was really, really good! The margarita was way better than most Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa were also good. The fajitas came out sizzling hot. On the side plate with the fajitas was an amazing mix of pico with fresh cilantro. It was truly an amazing delicious Accompaniment to my fajitas. The negatives? I would have liked some tomato in my fajitas besides just onion and peppers (personal choice). The fajitas were cooked well with some of the peppers and onions charred, I love this. Service was a little on the slow side. They were busy and didn't seem to have enough help. I will be back for sure! read more

I ordered the queso and it was extremely watery. Probably the most watered down queso I've ever see. The guacamole dip was like out of the jar type in the chip aisle, soupy-like in blender, not the fresh avocado kind most restaurants serve. It had an off taste too. Foot was pretty good and did the job for a 1 night stay at the hotel across the way. My strawberry margarita was VERY sweet, so much syrup. Food came out fast and hot and the service was good. Down side is it didn't seem very "covid clean." When we came the restaurant was empty except for 1 table and they tried to sit us directly in the next booth trash was left on our table too. They offer $.99cent ground beef or shredded chicken hard tacos, if you wanted soft tacos, it would be double the price... Started out with chips and salsa. Chips were nicely fries, thick and crispy. Salsa was a little runny for my liking, I like my salsas chunky. The tacos were fine, nicely seasoned. I might get the shredded chicken again, but why when I can go to Taco Palenke on Tuesday and get $1.25/tacos with a condiment bar with fresh ingredients and salsas. My beef fajita thing was also just fine. Although beans and rice was tasty, it came out room temperature. My steak was way overcooked. There was no fresh elements to it like Pico de Gallo would've been nice... everything I had was okay. read more

My buddy has a lethal allergy to shrimp and requested to buy a dish with shrimp removed from it. He made his allergy very very clear. It was brought to him with shrimp anyways. They then took it back to the kitchen, removed the shrimp, and sent the dish back. This caused my friend to have a non-threatening reaction. This place was AWESOME. Actually stumbled on it by mistake and I'm glad I didn't pass up on it. It's a little small place in the corner of a business plaza so you have to look for it. The menu is HUGE and the prices are very good. You actually get a lot for what you're paying for. The food is really really good. Be careful though because it's coming out on a VERY hot plate. I have nothing that I can think of that's not positive about eating here. So if you're ever in the area go check them out. The food was awesome! I grew up in So Cal and am in Mexico on business frequently so I'm a pretty tough critic when it comes to Mecham food. There were plenty of menu options. I had the Chorizo queso and Carnitas and both were excellent. If I get back to the area I will absolutely make this a stop for dinner - highly recommended! read more

As a Texan the weekly ritual of margaritas and Tex-Mex on a Friday night is not only traditional but also a necessity for life. While some people may say this restaurant is still subpar, I would disagree. Being from the birthplace of Americanized Mexican cuisine, I feel confident that my opinion holds weight. The building is unassuming as it lies tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. Do not let the sign or structure dissuade you. The food was decently priced, flavorful, and the salsa especially, had a tinge of spice that many Tex-Mex restaurants exclude for the high volume of guests who dislike spice. The margaritas were a bit too sweet but that is usually expected when they are cheap and that is not a strike against the business at all, it's just the way things are. The service was friendly, efficient, and the restaurant itself was well maintained. I'm new to the Jackson area and this will be my go-to for Friday evenings from now on. read more
