I'm not a local but was passing through from Texas and needed a road break. It was Monday, rainy and business was slow. Employees were very friendly and recommended a strong margarita, the Texan. I recommend it!! The chips and salsa were perfect. Salsa was bland and not too spicy. I had veggie fajitas, which needed some seasoning, but the salad it came with was awesome. AVOID !!! This place shouldn't be in business. The chimichanga was soggy. Microwave made this. Beans and rice lacked flavor. The "fried" ice cream wasn't even close. It was a shell with plain ice cream and whipped topping. I told the waiter and owner of manger and they said that's the way they make it. They are embarrassing their fellow Mexicans. I have been here a couple of times. A friend of mine from Texas likes the place. I will be honest with my review and my opinion. The restaurant is alway nice and the feel is what you would expect from and tex-mex place outside of Texas. This time the floor was a bit sticky as someone had just spilled a drink. The service is average with the normal good days and bad. The staff seems care until our food arrived. The food is average at best I got the standard meat, rice, and cheese sauce plate. It was ok but nothing special. If you are hungry it will fill the hole. I like to go to a more authentic place though. read more

My wife and I wanted to try this new Mexican restaurant here in Clinton area. We ordered a variety of appetizers, entrées, and desserts. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and attentive to us. Our order consists of Large Queso cheese, Shrimp Chimichanga, Chicken Parrilleros Pachuca, Churros, and Flan. We spoke to Manager and thanked him for positive experience. Between the lack of service, waiting over 2 hours, and the owner responding with more rude comments then I have ever received even at a fast food restaurant needless to say my family will never return to the restaurant. While the food is standard Mississippi-Mexican fare, the people are what makes this restaurant stand out. The servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. They're always happy to refill our drinks, and the one time I had a problem with my meal, they replaced it fast and for no charge. I recommend the chicken tortilla soup. It's loaded with thick tortilla strips, chunks of chicken, and avocado. Their Chile Colorado is great too, if you enjoy spicier dishes. If you like fajitas, try the molcajete, it's a treat! Lunch specials are well priced too. We would always rather come to Los Parrilleros than any other Mexican restaurant in Clinton. They're just nicer people. read more

This was my 3rd time giving this place a chance but the staff failed to prove my intuition wrong. Black people listen - They don't want you there. I'm not playing the race card but it is what it is. Take it for what it's worth. Ok moving on... I recommend patronizing Salsa's on Spring Ridge Road instead. I can't speak for the restaurant across from Diary Queen because I've only gone once. I was there for a presentation dinner that was already paid for in advance so I didn't get a chance to have any personal dealings with the staff. However, the food was of good quality though. They are so sweet, the food is better than any place I've been to when I lived in Vicksburg, and they even stayed open late when we came in 20 minutes before closed. We are from Texas living here in Mississippi. We have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant and we found this place! Of course we had chips and salsa and it was very good. It wasn't too spicy which for me is great. For Dinner I got the chicken fajita chimichanga it comes with sour cream and guacamole and rice and beans. My husband got the steak fajita nacho supreme. We each had a tea and our bill was about $26. We thought that was a very good deal. We were very impressed! read more

Large restaurant and it was pretty busy. I was thinking it must be good. The chips and salsa were good. Everything else was very disappointing. I ordered the ribeye with peppers onions and tomatoes, side of rice and beans. The ribeye was more fat than meat. The flavor of meat was either that it was really old or it hadn't been kept at the proper temperature. Rice was dry. I sent it back and just ordered ground beef tacos. I'm guessing the meat came from the bottom of the container because there was so much grease that it ran out of the taco shell and filled my plate. We won't be back. read more

Ok. This will be kind of weird for a 5 star review. This is a cookie cutter Mexican restaurant. Everything on the menu is fairly standard fare BUT everything is good. When I saw the menu I thought "oh well, we're here so let's give it a try". We both ordered off of the lunch menu. Without going into major details the jist of it is that Everything was well prepared. Seasoned good. Service was great. A huge amount of food for the money. It is a great addition to Clinton. Easily one of the best food places in Clinton! My wife and I wanted to try this for weeks and finally got around to it. It was worth it! We sat outside in the spacious patio and received prompt and friendly service. We both ordered a sprite and were surprised to see how big the drinks were. The complimentary chips and salsa was good (it's really had to have bad salsa lol). My wife ordered a chicken chimichanga plate and I ordered the chicken nachos and I also ordered a chicken taco. The taco was GREAT, The nacho was huge and pretty good. I do wish that there was lettuce and salsa that came with though. My wife said the chimichanga was ok. Terrible food. Service slow. Me and my family ate here on Friday for dinner. We didn't have to wait for a table which can sometimes be a bad sign for a restaurant on a Friday night. The Food was served barely warm; rice was hard. My husband found a long black hair in his tamales. My chicken fajitas were not seasoned. I had to send back the plate of beans and rice because it was cold. The chips were soaking in grease and tasted old. It took more than 30 minutes to get food and the server could not understand or communicate in English very well. Don't waste your money here. Go to Sombra in Ridgeland for the best wonderful Mexican food that is always fresh!! read more
