Michael, the manager was kind enough to put me in a room here, and Liz the front desk person was amazing and helpful. The rooms are really good, I'm assuming probably a lot better than the Hampton next-door, and they don't have hookers and weird drug dealers hanging out in the parking lot , so that's a plus! We chose the Cobblestone Inn primarily for its five star reviews and proximity to Nauvoo. It did not disappoint and also feel it deserves five stars. It is very clean, well maintained and the beds very comfortable. Service was good including the breakfasts. We understand some reviews were less than five stars because of no elevator. That was not an issue since we always prefer the top floor. Overall, it helped to make our Nauvoo vacation a memorable one.

I really struggled between 3 and 4 stars and here's why:…read more Pros: -VERY new and clean -Spacious, modern rooms -Comfortable beds -Light breakfast available every morning -Water and coffee available all day -Washer & dryer available for use (I think they each cost $1) -Small fitness room Cons: -No automatic doors at entry made it hard to push 2 doors open with large suitcases (how would someone in a wheelchair manage to get in?) -No water bottles available for purchase in vending machine -No air/ventilation in fitness room (I was dying!) -Not enough parking -See below... As I mentioned, this hotel is very new however it's also very obvious they wanted to get it up and running in a hurry. I can't speak about all of the rooms, but a few things were definitely not right in our room. When we closed our room door, it seemed that the door and door frame were somehow not aligned correctly. The dead bolt lock and the swing lock were completely ineffective. Same goes for the bathroom door. You had to pull it with all of your strength to get it to (kind of) shut. I didn't even attempt locking it as you could see it wasn't aligned with the frame. The shower rod had clearly been installed in one place and then re-installed as there were still holes with wall anchors visible and sawdust everywhere from where they had drilled. The shower curtain wasn't long enough and water would splash out under it and all over the floor (even if you pointed the shower head away). The shower itself was strange and I kept wondering if it was actually meant to be wheelchair accessible since there were two seats but since the beds were SO HIGH we didn't think it could be possible that our room was wheelchair friendly. It's nice that the shower/toilet are separate from the sink however there was no towel ring/rack in the sink area. I also found the configuration of the room to be a bit odd. In order to see the TV, you had to sit on the sofa. If you were in bed, you couldn't see it at all. It would make more sense to swap the positions of the sofa and TV. I think we had a total of 4 lamps in our room which was overkill. If anything it amused me so I can't really complain. The parking situation was only bad if you returned to the hotel at a late hour. One night there was no parking and we had to park next door and walk through a grassy area. Would have been nice if there was a path of some sort to walk on. I noticed that many parking spots were taken by large trucks and also things that would typically be hitched to the back of a truck (like a boat). If the hotel enforced a 1-spot per room rule that would probably help manage the situation better. Aside from the room and parking I thought the staff was friendly. When we arrived to check in I was surprised the young woman did not check my ID to verify it against the name on the reservation. In addition, she immediately asked for my credit card and charged the FULL amount of our 3-night stay rather than waiting until we checked out which is actually not an acceptable practice. All in all, although not major, they have some kinks to work out. Would I stay here again? Yes. It was pleasant enough that I would return. Their rate was reasonable for the room we received but should the rate go up by a lot, I might reconsider.

The owner told me no people in red truck sobi told my nehew he could not be there because of the owners wish's... Then later in the day my sister stopped to see me as well as my son in-law a little later.... Then i left and drove to iowa city to bring my man back we didnt return to the hotel 10:30.... So after we returned to the hotel it was my friend who came from camden tenn with me my man my son in-law and i.... My son in-law visited for awhile then he left.....my friend was asleep on the couch my man and i in the bed we where sound asleep and woke up by the female owner and her mother they thought that two men had shown up and entered our room which there was not so the female owner knew that it was my friend my man and i in the room.... So know we had been falsely accused of having extra people in our room which we did not. Then my son-in-law showed up around 10 with three of my grandchildren and then my daughter after she got off work showed up.. then we all left the hotel again just returned me my friend from Tennessee my man and my son-in-law back to the room we were sitting there just conversating I decided I needed clean sheets because the Lincolnville does not even change your sheets and it when I called the office and asked for clean sheets they threw a fit and said they kicked more people out of my room that we're even at my room they took $250 for the room but reimbursed me $70 when they kicked me in my family out because my children came I think this hotel should be shut down everybody wonders why bed bugs come well when you don't change your sheets you don't vacuum your floor and people find syringes under the couches in their rooms that means their housekeeper is not a very good housekeeper and they should figure out how to get it clean so I will be contacting somebody in regards to shutting their hotel down so anyone that stays there be prepared for the Arab people to be all up in your business even if you don't have people at your room they're going to say you have people at your room they're going to lie and be deceitful and I think it's pretty damn shitty that I could have paid $50 for last night and still had $200 in my pocket instead of paying $250 to only receive $70 back Better Business Bureau it will be involved. This is possibly the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The street corn appetizer came out with…read moreour food. It was lukewarm canned corn with a few squirts of mayonnaise on top. This is not street corn. My vegetarian option was absolutely inedible and the red sauce tasted like cold tomato soup on top. The margaritas obviously come out of a container and have an artificial taste. I saw an employee moving a garbage can full of tortilla chips through the restaurant. Obviously, I will never return again.
