The manager was super cool about the mistake so took care of me, I got to watch the World Baseball Classic game with a bartender which was cool. Got home and the food was among some of the best I've had in a while. I don't get Mexican food often but this will likely be my new place because of how I was treated. El toro cantina Delaware Got some takeout here for dinner, and happy with the meal, though not ecstatic. Steak fajita and Seafood fajita Personally, I do feel that there was a bit more veggies than I care for, but I do understand that you can't just give all protein in a fajita dish. I wouldn't call their portion necessarily generous, but pretty average. The veggies also came cut up into bigger chunks than i usually like. I prefer the thinner strips that are charred rather than left crunchy. The steak was well seasoned and had great flavors. So did the shrimp and scallops in the seafood version, though the amount of shrimp was such that sharing was a game of seeing how the others are eating. Steak Quesadilla Ok, this one was a totally delicious dish. Granted, quesadillas are super easy to make, and all you really need is well seasoned beef and good cheese. But lots of restaurants mess it up somehow. I loved their steak (it was just as well seasoned as those in the steak fajita), and the proportion of cheese to steak was perfectly balanced. Salsas (green and red) that came with the meal were also very good and tasty. Overall, a wonderful meal. I have heard great things about this place and decided to try it out. We ordered two Burrito California entrees with chicken and a side of verde sauce, two Mexican street corn and seafood enchiladas. The burrito was so yummy filled with cheese, rice and sour cream...could not finish it! The Mexican street corn was wrapped in foil and still hot and steamy with cheese, mayo, butter, and chili powder - amazing! We also got a bag of chips and a side of guacamole / it was so fresh. We've been finding little hidden gems within the city of Wilmington; this is definitely one of them. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, yup! You are looking in the right direction. Bring your friends and family, the environment is great for all. A Saturday evening, we were seated right away. Now it did start to get busy, so we came right on time. Their agua de Horchata was right on. Chips and salsa while you wait - nice service. Our orders were taken right away and were brought out in good time. Food portions are nice, large plates. I grabbed myself a salad, y Mi Mujer grabbed herself an alambre de camaron, both dishes were delicious! The shrimp has a nice spice to it, but not super hot. We'll definitely be back! Service was just okay. The main waitress wasn't friendly at all. The person that brought our food to our table was nice. The margaritas tasted like juice. We ordered shots of tequila on the side to float on top. Huge improvement. We also ordered quest dip. But it took forever to come out and was chunky and cold. However after a slow start, surprisingly the food was decent. I had the Mole Tres Tacos, one beef, shredded chicken and cheese. The chicken was dry but the mole sauce made up for it. Hubby had the carnitas plate. When it arrived it wasn't shredded like we're use to so we immediately began to have doubts. However it was the best thing we ordered! Worst experience I've had at a restaurant and I am so sad about it. I pass this place all the time and really wanted to try it! There was a misunderstanding in what I had ordered I guess, so the wrong food was brought out to me. They were very nice about it, took it away and put in the right order. Then my food finally comes out, what I thought would be the right order, and it was wrong again. The girl had told me after talking to her again that they would "take the wrong things off the check" and I even offered to pay for some of my meal because I felt bad! Then, a guy working came over and was being ridiculously rude about it and was saying I had to pay for all of the wrong meal because I had already wasted food... and that it was my fault... Mind this, it wasn't my fault the food came out wrong. Misunderstandings happen in the food business, which i've experienced before and it is NEVER handled like this.
