    Margaritas and chips and salsa
    Sandahl T.

We came in on a cold winter night around 5:45 and we were seated right away. Our food came out really fast, maybe 5 min after we ordered. The kids got chicken fingers and Mac and cheese. One 5 star review on the chicken and a 0 for the Mac n cheese from my 6 year old... however I would rate it a 5. The cheese was amazing, different than the normal Mac and cheese flavor. So for a kid, maybe too fancy, but delicious for an adult. My husband ordered the chicken burrito smothered which he said was really good and filling. The el Camino fries were a nice addition with fries, fried onion and jalapeños. The free chips and salsa are always a hit for us. The salsa is smooth and full of flavor with a little kick. My chicken tacos with cilantro, cheese and lettuce had a great flavor. I opted for the red chimichurri sauce on the side which was kind of sweet. Our margaritas were on point. Will be back again!

    Chips, salsa, side of guac.

Decent place with a nice vibe. Bar service was slow but friendly. Salsa and guac were bland but fresh. Shrimp fajitas had maybe 8 small shrimp--barely enough for 2/3 of the tortillas. Margaritas were good. Service was attentive and friendly. Would go back if ever in the area but more for the vibe.

    Cornbread

Went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We always ride by it and always wondered what the food was like so yesterday we decided to give it a try. It was around two in the afternoon when we arrived. It was not that busy. There were only about two or three other tables in use. The ambience and decor of the restaurant make it feel very casual yet also upscale. All the colors are nice yellows and blues reds. Very nice. The waitress will give you water and she was also very nice and down to earth. I applaud her service. We ordered two drinks, the watermelon, margarita and lychee sour. The margarita was good, but the lychee sour was very strong. We had to get pineapple juice to make a little bit better. We ordered the cornbread and the grilled wings for appetizers. The cornbread is unfortunately salted and some type of syrup so the texture gives me more of a bread pudding consistency, which the other person in my party didn't really like so if you were going to order that then please be advised also the price for what you receive is a little bit on the expensive side for some reason I was under the impression that it would be like a skillet cornbread because of the price, but it was only two slices. We asked that the wings be grilled hard be well done and they weren't really and they were still some softness to the wings and they were a little bit too juicy inside inside where it feels like you know how chicken when you cook chicken and it's like just done and then you take it off like right one it's just done like it needs. I need it to have a little extra extra time to get rid of that juicy pie. Personally I like my chicken wings like like juicy, but you know not that juicy where it verge is on slime so but I did cook them today in the air fryer and they taste way better now but the sauce was a little bit too tomato. Like the sauce on the wings taste more like Indian than any Mexican sauce. I've tasted like this tastes. This taste like the tiki masala from the restaurant down the road that does. I'm so sorry if something don't make sense I'm using text to speech and also high and I'm probably not gonna feel like editing it so it is what it is. So anyway, what was I saying? Chicken wings OK yeah so chicken wings I didn't really like them. They taste better today after I put them in the air fry. and also the chips and also was so good like I love one salsa like fury like that but like still a little bit chunky because like I just I don't like the texture of chewing a tomato or an onion so I love it when it's like consistency and it was really good. It was good and smoky like it was so good. The queso was so good. It was like I don't know what they put in it but it was it's so good like the waitress was like I love that case so I have to have it every day and I believe it because it was so good like it was so good and then we got for our meals. I got the chicken tacos and it comes with the refried beans and my sister got the fish tacos and shrimp tacos I don't eat seafood so I can't speak to that but she said it was good and the chicken tacos was good but now I'm taste it like it taste like pork or something is in it too unless it's just like the chicken seasoning but it taste like I'm eating pancetta so I mean it's good but that's the thing that I'm tasting right now cause I'm like eating my leftovers right now but yeah so when I go back, yeah probably it's just a little far away but hopefully I'll get this apartment and then I'll be up there so yeah but yeah I would go back. It was nice. I'm surprised it wasn't. It wasn't busy like there were only at least I think three other people or parties were in there like it was a nice day like why aren't people here? Well, I will go back so there in three stars isn't a bad rating is just like an average rating cause I just didn't like the wings and the cornbread was like the issue but.

    Fajita Salad.

Food was bland and Overpriced! Looks are sure deceiving. Passing through Wilmington and stopped by for this disappointment. While it appeared to be appealing, the flavor was missing all around. Birria Tacos $16 for 3; Dipping sauce tasted old & fatty, one small piece of lime & no seasoning on the meat. Chicken Fajita Salad- $16 - forgot the Fajita. Chicken was bland, no flavor at all. Not sure what makes it Fajita but it looks like a regular Mixed greens salad with 3 small chicken strips and a dash of crispy tortilla strips on top. The adobo dressing probably made it taste worse. If you're thinking of eating Mexican food, this place is far from authentic and further from flavorful... Do not recommend at all. Tasteless Bland Not worth the investment.

    Sangria

I'm giving El Camino a 4 because of the El Camino margaritas, service, and patio. This is my favorite local place for margaritas. I deviated and tried the sangria and it wasn't in my opinion what sangria should taste like. We always order the queso con carne which is 9/10 times good, but may or may not be cold. The food here is very hit or miss. We went for an early dinner on Friday and everything was great. Shrimp tacos are typically good. If you live in the area and the weather is nice. I definitely recommend sitting outside with an El Camino

El Camino is located in an up and coming area of North Wilmington. This was my second time visiting. I went to visit on a Sunday evening and the restaurant was not crowded. Our table of 5 was seated right away and immediately ordered our drinks. I ordered the watermelon basil margarita which was great! We skipped appetizers and all ordered tacos for our dinner. The food took a very long time to come out, at least 30 minutes. I was really surprised at their service as there were at least 4 people working in the kitchen. It seemed as if they were focused on getting takeout orders out of the kitchen. I was disappointed in the service. My tacos were just okay. Would not order again.

First time eating here. Food was delicious however Eddie our server was the star of the show. not only was he incredibly friendly but gave exceptional service. he understood our dietary needs (substitute fish for beef taco Salad) Fish was delicious. i had an orange crush Margarita also made by Eddie(pulled double duty as bartender/server) It was a great B day lunch for my daughter. highly recommend.

I went here a few months back in the midst of restaurant closures. We made a reservation and were seated promptly upon arriving. I was under the impression that the happy hour specials would be applied at our table but I was disappointed to find out they were for the bar seating only. The waiter was friendly and prompt. They gave fresh chips and salsa which were just okay. I ordered the 3 fish tacos. Having just had incredible Mexican food the weekend before, I was pretty disappointed with the tacos. They were just okay but nothing special. I really didn't like the tortillas for the tacos and wish they came with some sort of side. Plus they're really expensive. My mom ordered the pollo en fuego. This came with a side of beans and rice. She enjoyed it but said she wouldn't order it again. She also ordered a regular margarita which she liked. The restaurant was freezing as they had us sitting right near one of the side doors. This made enjoying the meal uncomfortable. Overall, this isn't somewhere I'd come out of my way to go to. The Mexican food was just okay, left more to be desired and I've had far better.

We were nicely surprised with how delicious our recent dinner at Tex Mex Tequila was!…read more We stopped in on a Friday night and were quickly seated; I don't think the word is out about this place yet! The service was very friendly and efficient, with several different employees stopping to check in on us throughout the evening (without being overbearing). The complimentary chips and salsa were fantastic and clearly homemade. We ordered the guacamole as well (which came with another giant basket of chips), which I liked, though husband felt it was a little too lime-y. I ordered the pescado (fish) burrito, which was stuffed with rice, black beans, and fish and came with sour cream and pico de gallo on the side (would have preferred it already on there, but I guess they're trying to cater to pickier eaters?). I also added some of our guacamole for an overall delicious bite and a large enough serving that I was able to take half of it home. Husband ordered an al pastor burrito bowl, but wasn't a huge fan because of the texture of the meat. However, the bowl was otherwise quite sizeable and would likely be a great choice with a different meat. Also... the house margaritas are gigantic. We forgot to take a picture, but easily one of the largest margs I've ever gotten for $10 each. My husband tried the peach margarita, which was fresh and summery as well. Overall, would definitely go back! Happy to have a solid Mexican option on 202!
