DO NOT recommend. The ride is not scary but it is very rough and painful. I have bruises everywhere and my neck is sore my head was being flung down and was so uncomfortable. The safety bars are horrible because it was basically a foot loose on me I was quite literally flying in air. read more

I rode this a couple of years back and this is one of my favorite coasters here at Six Flag New Jersey that I want to come back and riding this over and over again. I remember coming here with my brother and riding this 5 times in a row that is how great and smooth it was. A couple months later I went with my wife during the Halloween. The line was dead in the day, but long at night time. Riding at night time is a different story as I felt it was more rougher for me that my back did go out at some point, but it was fun though. There is only 1 pre fabricated Intamin Wooden Roller coaster in the US and it is really fun and the best wooden roller coaster I have ridden and prefer. El Toro is absolutely my most favorite roller coaster ride in Six Flags! It is the fastest wooden roller coaster. If you love steep drops, this is the ride for you! El Toro is one of the longer rides in Six Flags. It's a bit under two minutes. Not too short, not too long. Just the right amount. The right amount of fast speed with continuous up's and down's and around. The ride does make your body move all over so you're subject to a few bumps here and there especially your behind. Strap in tightly in your seat and enjoy the ride! I really enjoyed the ending of the ride when the coaster is coming down from the last hill and it makes really quick twists and turns... and yeah I came off the coaster wobbling! This is my favorite ride in Six Flags Great Adventure. If you love the traditional wooden type of roller coaster without the loops and flashing lights, this is it. It is huge, it is long, and it rocks your world! You will need to be securely fastened, I could barely breathe when the attendant pushed the safety bar down on me. At the first dip, you will feel like you are going to fly off the car, so being tightly hemmed in helps. Thereafter it is a series of speed and dips and climbs. Awesome ride! At the end of it, if you are still up for another round, wave your hand in the air (if you have a platinum flash pass) and you are good to go. Otherwise, exit and recover. read more

Contrary to popular opinion, El Toro has to be probably my least favorite ride in the park. It is better than most rides in other parks though. This roller coaster is so intense. From the very fast lift hill, to the airtime, this ride is a force to be reckoned with. However, it's pretty rough, and I am not a fan of these rough rides. I felt like my kneecaps were going to bust, and I had a headache after the ride ended. I was just waiting for it to end as I rode. 3 stars for the intensity and excitement but it's roughness. read more

One of the best wooden rollercoasters I've been on. When I went in the summer, the wait time was around 15 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. It was one of the better rollercoasters at six flags, and I would recommend going closer to the park's closing time. With fewer lines, my friends and I were able to ride the coaster twice. The steepness of the coaster makes it one of the fastest wooden coasters I've been on. All around thrilling, it's a super enjoyable ride and a staple of six flags. read more

Love six flags rides me and my girlfriend love going here and trying out the wide variety of rides. This is one of our favorites I just have one problem with this ride. I think the trains should be re-designed to have an over the shoulder restraint. To me the ride is to choppy not to and if it had this my ride experience would double because I would not have a pounding headache after. Over all great ride and would recommend but do listen to there no phone policy or have a good zippered pocket. This is my fav ride in the park!! SO FAST ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT. The adrenaline rush is insane. The back train last row is the best. The bank roll turn at the end and the drop at the beginning are the best. NEVER get sick of this ride. It's fun to ride (as long as it's running and working and not shut down like it often is) it's not bumpy and it still amazes me how fast the incline up the hill in the beginning is. A perfect wooden hybrid coaster. Intamin did a good job on this one. An epic first drop at 180 feet is something insane on a wooden coaster and its 78 degree drop is nothing to mess around with. Tons of airtime hills. A must ride and perfect for all. 48 inch height mark is great so younger kids could ride. read more

This ride is currently my second worst roller coaster (The Wildcat at Hershey park being number 1) because I had a very rough ride on it. I found the ride to be very slow and not thrilling and I came off with bruises on my knees. This ride is very overrated and in my opinion is the worst Intamin coaster ever. I do not recommend this ride to anyone. read more
