This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Food and service are both excellent. I love the pollo azteca and the margaritas are yummy and strong. Ask for Jose Roberto to wait on you and Milton the owner is amazing. I have been coming here for years along with my entire office and family. The service is fast, the chips are good salsa is decent. Cheese dip is good. Their refried beans aren't great, especially if you've ever had Mezcla's in Downtown Chattanooga you'll know the difference. Their quesa birria is really good here, same with their fiesta quesadilla it's good too. Their sweet tea is also pretty consistently good. Fajitas here are okay, doesn't stand out from others. Traveling from Louisville to Kentucky, iExit recommended this restaurant. plates were hot hot hot! husband ordered a dish with tilapia, shrimp, California veggies, rice, and a cheese sauce. The Fish covered half the plate on top of veggies and rice, and was surrounded by shrimp. Whether you're passing through I-75 on your way down to the Southern States or you are a local: this place has hands down d best mexican dishes in the hr area. Today was no different.... Every dish i've so far I've had in this place sincerely last time I was here. Every single time I get to have something different and every single time I get to enjoy it twice as much and every single time they continue to out due themselves... this is one of our local favorites not just for the food but for the service (ask foR DIEGO!) He is fantastic and knows the dishes and flavors of thos joint! and the ambience not to mention the clean restroom. The bikini team that welcomes you at the door just joking that's not even needed since the food is so good. Actually this place is a family place so make sure you come with your entire family they will accommodate them all. If you're no cooking tonight and you're not here you are missing out. White washed Mexican food. Asked for two bean and cheese burritos and a chile relleno/w bean. Got bean enchiladas with queso over them? Then the chile relleno was looking more like a poblano enchilada with red sauce? If you're actually Mexican you're not gonna get what you expect. Also paid $16 for three burritos? Three burritos along the border is less than $5 especially with no meat just an fyi. Nothing authentic about it. Better off trying los maguey which is also in the area. read more

I really haven't been to this part of Ringgold, but I really had been wanting to try El Trio. It's in a little strip mall area. It seems like it would be smallish inside, but it's actually spacious. It's very clean and polished. Love the redish color on the walls and the pictures. The booths look comfy and there is lots of seating. Our server, Melanie, was so helpful and attentive. She handled a big group of people and never seemed overwhelmed or flustered. I ordered the Pollo Picante and boy was it picante! I would suggest ordering the picante cheese sauce on the side and adding as you see fit. I could tell the beans are made fresh, though they were a tad too thinned out. I'd like them to be a bit thicker in consistency. The flavor was good though. I loved the grilled onions with the chicken. Such a great combination and taste that elevates the dish. Chips and salsa are plentiful. The salsa is not spicy at all. I'd like a little bit more kick in it, but I know most people in the area don't do well with spicy salsa. It was good, and definitely eatable. I also had a margarita and it was quite tasty. Tuesday nights are two-for-one, so that was a bonus. I tried a friend's mango margarita on the rocks and it was amazing. I'd go back just for that alone. I do need to go back and try some more dishes, like tacos and enchiladas. read more

I have eaten here a couple of times and I love the atmosphere and the family that owns it! I got the picante chicken and it was extremely spicy but it had a good taste to it. I've also had their enchiladas and tacos for lunch. I'm very picky with my enchilada sauce and I actually like theirs a lot. The taco was full of meat and cheese and the chips and salsa were the norm, nothing too special. The people next to me had guacamole and it looked super yummy. I also saw an order of combo fajitas that looked big enough to feed four people and smelled amazing!! Will definitely go back when in Ringgold. read more

After complaining about our food (which was so salty it was inedible) the manager took offense to my comments and would not even offer any compromise in the way of a different entree or anything else. After telling him I was not going to spend my money on something that was inferior he simply took my cell phone from my table and refused to return it until I paid and tipped my server. I am a local business owner and pride myself in the fact that I will not accept anything less than perfection when it comes to the satisfaction of my patients. After finally agreeing to pay in order to get my phone back the manager followed me to my car and proceeded to dump a pitcher of what I will assume was a cola product on the roof of my car. The worst food ever! Asked to speak to mgr n the girl at counter said she was mgr. I showed her the food and she said there was nothing wrong with it. My daughter's food was supposed to be a grilled ckn with pineapple on top and she got cut up dried ckn with cut veggies n pineapple. Son got chicken pollo with steak and got sick, n I ordered tour of Mexico. She said she checked the food and packed it up and said she didn't see anything wrong with it. Can't say enough good things about this place! My family and I have visited several times over the past few months. The service is always friendly and quick. The food is excellent! We are never disappointed in what we order even when we try something new. Going back to service, my daughter and I ate there earlier this week, it was great as usual. However, my daughter discovered that she left her retainer there by accident. I called the restaurant knowing it was a long shot. In a matter of a few minutes, waiting on the phone, they found the retainer! I have no idea of the amount of trash they had to dig through, but it could not have been pleasant! I didn't even ask them to do any of it. All I asked was if they had found one at the table we were sitting at. I can't imagine getting service like this from many places at all. Trying out this new place that isn't far from home. The atmosphere is casual and open. For a Wednesday night at 7 pm, it was relatively busy. I ordered the Mexican Street Tacos, which comes with three tacos on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions with your choice of chicken or beef. I got two chicken and one beef, and they were amazing! The meat was tender on both versions, and they gave quite a bit of meat on each one. The green chili sauce that came with it, but it was a bit watery for my taste (same with the salsa that came with the chips). The staff was very friendly and every one of them paid attention to the table. UPDATED November 2018: we have gone back a couple of times and have been disappointed. The quantity of food you get is good, even overwhelming if you order the fajitas for two (we could have easily fed 6 from it), but the food is bland and the meat has been more over cooked than the first time I was there. Still think the salsa is too runny, too. Downgrading the stars to a 2 now. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I ordered and paid online waited 30 minutes to go pickup the food. When I got there waited another 30 minutes and told them I wanted a refund. I was told I would have to wait for the owner to get back it would be 20 minutes. Finally another manager refunded my money and said let me see if your food is ready I said no thanks and took my receipt and left. No apologies from anyone just rude and inconsiderate. Let me start off by saying my favorite Mexican restaurant is amigos in Eastridge Tennessee. We recently moved to Ringgold so we tried this place. Ordered a chicken burrito Togo. I couldn't cut it with a fork so I opened it up to take a look and omg just dried out rice and very little dried out over cooked chicken. I gave them a shot and will not ever be back..I wanted a shredded chicken burrito with onions and peppers but it wasn't on the menu. It is on every other Mexican restaurant menu. read more
