All ye folks coming from ATL to Chattanooga with a stop at the Chickamauga Battlefield need to come here for lunch. We are glad we found this clean, affordable, most flavorful, Mexican restaurant. I am pretty sure its a rather new restaurant. The place is clean, service is great, the food is fresh and delicioso. I had their lunch special, .. the breakfast burrito. A large burrito with scrambled eggs and sausage. Served with beans and rice. The also brought out some chips and salsa and the salsa is FANTASTIC and made fresh. It was tomatoey, cilantroey heaven. I've been here several times, once for lunch and at least 3 or 4 times for dinner. It's been great every time. The food is fresh and full of flavor. The portions are fair for the price. The waitstaff is very nice and they're on top of refilling your drinks and coming by your table every now and then to make sure everything is going well. Out of all the Mexican restaurants in this area, I definitely recommend this restaurant to be one of your top choices if you were looking for a Mexican restaurant to eat at. I gave 5 stars because in my personal opinion, they've got everything covered.... Service was fine, however, the food was bland. Food was watery, looked like it was left overs and warmed up in a microwave. Taco Bell would've been a better option. We ordered the nachos it was heated up and sour cream was also cooked in microwave it was flat tasting. Had the steak burrito it had no seasoning, ingredients did not taste fresh. Chips were warm but salsa was bland, tasted like it came out of a can. Other meal was combination number 1, meat was not seasoned very bland. Did not bother to complain to manager we were in a rush. I hate leaving bad reviews but we went to eat there, got our drinks and were waiting for our food and a roach crawled up the wall ... Paid for the drinks and left and have never been back since. Love this place! They have a lot to offer! They have specials on different days of the week. I think Monday is 5$ burritos. One day they have BYGO margaritas. We've gone a couple time's now and honestly it's been a long time since I had consistent good Mexian food! You also get chips and salsa with your meal which are good chips not greasy like other restaurants. You can tell they make their food fresh and it always comes out hot and amazing at the table. My husband and I detoured from our regular Mexican establishment to try and support other restaurants. Tres Amigos was hopping on a Saturday night for dinner so that was a good sign. We were immediately sat when when we walked in. We were greeted with chips and salsa, but sadly the salsa tasted store bought instead of fresh. Our poor server was great and obviously over worked. He was working both sides of the restaurant but still maintained a steady flow of work running back and forth. Staff friendly but stood at front of store 3 minutes before being seated. Was 2:30 p.m. maybe 4 tables occupied. Salsa is gross to me, nothing but clumped tomatoes with hot pepper. So we attempted our typical El cactus -yeah No... they were on a 45-minute wait so we decided to try out tres amigos for the first time. I'm here to report we might have found another good spot in Fort O. to grab some Mexican. The restaurant itself is small and fairly clean. The staff was very familiar with the majority of the patrons. Our servers name was Jesus. Even if the food wasn't a 10 he was. Jesus was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. He kept our drinks full, dishes cleared and was so super friendly. The tres Dip was soooo yummy. Erin was being picky and he basically let her custom build her dinner. I got carnitas-they were ok. The rice is fabulous, beans pretty good as well. Is this place authentic?-NO Is it the best Mexican in this area?-NO. Is it a relaxed environment with decent food and good wait staff?- MOST DEFINITELY. My chicken tasted rotten, smelled like fish... the worst part is when I complained, they informed me that they had ordered a "bad batch" of chicken breast,and that every customer complained this week about the "new marinade " they were trying to blame it on. I asked why they would keep serving it when it's obviously rotten and they responded with "the owner wants to get rid of all the bad batch he ordered " (by serving it to us instead of throwing away) I will absolutely NEVER eat here again. Really enjoyed my meal here today! I went with my mother for lunch. I ordered the grilled chicken nachos and she had one of the lunch specials. It was really good "Tennessee Mexican" food. Nothing super special or creative, but really delicious either way. The nachos were huge and had a lot of meat and toppings which I appreciate. My mom enjoyed lunch as well. Never will I go to this place again. I used to go here once a week but the last 3 times my food has tasted different and not the food I used to brag on and tell everyone that this is my favorite place in the world!!! I called and spent 84.00 worth of food. Drove 25 Minutes picked my food up took it home and I was stunned how wrong the order was. I ordered 15 soft grilled tacos(chicken and cheese only). Ended up getting 9 Beef tacos instead somehow and a burrito. Got my chicken tenders for my youngest and they gave her beans and fries. I called spoke to someone and all they could do was say sorry. This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in town. There are many that are good, but this one is one of the better ones to me. We always get sat very promptly, and the servers and hosts are very friendly. The food is always good- I've tried a variety of things. Tres amigos special is my husband's favorite. I really like their fajitas. Today I got the lunch portion and it was almost just as big as the dinner portion. Their queso and salsa is also really delicious. This was the first and last time I'll eat here. I got nervous when I walked in and saw only 3 other tables with patrons, but figured I'd give it a shot. I love mexican food and I'm always on the hunt for a great tamal, but we barely made it through dinner. Our waitress looked half asleep and like she was being forced at gun point to work. I asked for sour cream twice and never got it, we received no refills and no one came back buy after we were served to see if everything was ok. (I could have asked a 3rd time for sour cream) my son's side salad was sitting in a pool of liquid. The bus boy kept coming out and was sitting in the dining area with his filthy apron on. I had an upset stomach by the time I got home and I felt so terrible I missed work the next day. Keep driving, you'll be better off at McDonald's. read more

Cannot recommend this place. Please go to Salsarita's or Moes Southwest Grill or Abuelo's or a Chipotle or Plaza del Sol, or most anywhere else in town. After years of patronage, we had a most horrible experience that left the children in tears and the adults stunned to silence. Neither we, nor anyone in our family, nor any of our close friends will ever darken their door again. Any business which will treat children with such cruelty should be shunned. I gave a 1 star because 0 is not an option. This use to be our favorite Mexican restaurant, but has been declining for a couple years but we kept going back. For years. The food inspection ratings have been lower than we like. Tonight the food was awful, I had burnt chicken in my chimichanga, had to send it back and the replacement wasn't much better. My wife's Tres Amigo steak salad was tough and not good. We brought my son a steak enchilada and he got sick shortly after eating half of it. It's all going in garbage and we will not be back. This is a 'hit or miss' Mexican restaurant. There are times when it's some of the best you'll eat, then other times it's horrible. If you plan to dine in, it has a cafeteria feel. I usually order carryout. Fair warning... you better double check your to-go order. I absolutely guarantee that at least 1 in 3 times it's wrong or something is missing. No exaggerating at all! The BEST vegetarian burrito! I am currently on vacation for the holidays with my family and we stopped here before going to Rock City's garden lights. I ordered the veggie burrito and got a side of rice and beans. The beans sere by far the most delicious refried beans I have ever had, perfect consistency and flavor. My burrito was huge and I ate every bite because it was so delicious! The guacamole was sub-par but that does not effect the rating. Our server never missed a beat either, he was courteous and prompt on refills. My best advice is to ask for the house blend salsa with your meal. It's a little more spicy and tomatillo-y than the table salsa that comes with the chips. (The table chips that were to die for!)
