You have got to see this place. Very funky, very cool eclectic establishment. Authentic Cuban cuisine. Lots of good beer and Tequila. Outrageous Cuban sandwich, The best I have ever come across. I've been here twice and they're both 5 stars. I ordered a wild caught fresh snapper and they grilled it butterfly style to perfection. I wanted no sauce (traditionally smothered with gravy). The Yelp map is misleading but locals helped us find it. Walk past the school and follow the road to the right until you find it (on the waterway). We enjoyed a great lunch with perfect mojitos, garlic shrimp with rice and beans and fresh grouper. Nothing deep fried, all tasty and well prepared. We will return. read more

Place is a bit off the beaten path, but worth the trip. Food was excellent. One of the beast mojitos I've ever had. Ropa vieja was perfectly seasoned and completely on-point. Decided to try this place today based on Yelp reviews the food is really good the atmosphere was nice there was live music playing my husband ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was huge it would have probably been enough for both of us to eat I ordered the shrimp and it came with rice and a little bit of fruit the shrimp were very good I did not try the rice my husband had a Mojito to drink I tried it I thought it was okay but he likes it we'll definitely be back and try some different things read more

This is a hidden gem. On a dock on the lagoon with a bit of boat rolling by. Really a cool vibe and nice staff. There were 10 of us & the kids (over) ordered 5 beautiful Cubans sandwiches & we ordered a massive fresh red snapper with multiple guacamole's, ceviche & a grilled octopus appetizer & lots of drinks our bill was about $300 but well worth it. read more

This restaurant has a great location right on the water. It was nice sitting outside on their waterfront patio at night with cool breezes. Our meals of chicken fracases and pork were tasty and just the right amount of food. Visited this place while on vacation in Cancun. The setting is perfect for a laid back lunch or dinner right in the water. You can watch the boats drive by and even dock right next to your table. We had a large group and everything was spectacular (although the monitors were a bit weak but tasty). We shared a fish platter and had fried grouper, octopus, conch, grilled grouper and shrimp and more. It was perfect to share with 4 people.. Others had a variety of the catches of the day. We had a singularly bad experience at this restaurant today. So much so that I am compelled to write this negative review, although I don't write many reviews. We had visited this place last week, and enjoyed the live band, as we are salsa dancers. As we left the owner said 'see you next week.' Today, we walked to the restaurant all the way from downtown in order to get to the restaurant in time for the band to start. We arrived about 3:45. The owner saw us, and didn't smile or look friendly in any way. He asked us how many people in our party. We said 2. He then said he had no room for us. Not a waiting list, or a later time. Just simply he was turning us away. He said he had a boat arriving that would have 40 people. I told him we were hot and tired, as we had trouble getting a taxi and so had walked 2 kilometers to get there. I asked if we could possibly sit at the bar. He said no. I saw a couple of bar stools, empty, he said there was no table. I then asked if he could please call us a cab, and he did so, and said it would be there in 10 minutes. As we waited, there was a table at the bar that paid and exited. He didn't offer us their table. The entire was still was mostly empty when we finally left. I can't think of any time I have been treated to rudely by a restaurant. No apology. No, I'm sorry we have a private party (he didn't say that it was a private party, only there was a boat arriving later). No good explanation, as there appeared to be a room off to the sides and at the bar if the party took over the main space. He could have at least offered a bit of sympathy for our effort, he could have smiled, been a bit welcoming, said sorry it was unfortunate but, etc., and perhaps offered us to have a drink at the bar before we went - as the restaurant was almost empty. It really had a negative effect on our day. I couldn't help but wonder if he didn't like us for some reason (although we had been quite polite and tipped, etc. the prior week. I wondered if perhaps he didn't like gringos? I don't know. It certainly left a sour taste. Of course we will never be back. And although perhaps it was a one-off, the owner was quite unpleasant to us, and I do want to share this with others who consider visiting so they don't encounter the same very bad behavior. read more

We were severely disappointed. We came here after reading great views, but never saw the greatness. There were at least three groups there that had arrived by yacht & they overpowered the place. The food was okay but very overpriced for the island. There are definitely better places to eat on the island. read more

Excellent! Ropa Vieja was amazing. Chicken fricase was great too. Sitting on the deck watching people flaunt their opulence with yacht after yacht passing by was a little unnerving. However, the restaurant was great and the service was spot on too. Really good mojitos! read more

Heard so much about the fresh fish at El V and was assuming the lobster would be up to the same standard. Not so. Waited a very long time for our ordered to be taken, then our lobster dinners came out after the rest of our party had finished their meals. They ran out of large lobsters and substituted two (very small) lobster tails that were over cooked and dry. Quite disappointed, it was our last night in the island and we had hoped for a memorable dinner. The location was fun and the live music was terrific, but it always come down to the food. Others in our party had the fried whole fish and enjoyed it very much. We could have had a better dinner at a Red Lobster chain. read more

We came to the restaurant and they were getting ready to close. We were invited in and had excellent service. Their conch ceviche was the best I have ever eaten . Usually, I am not a big conch fan but I do not know how they made their ceviche but it was delicious. We ordered the fish of the day which was a snapper caught this morning. It was seasoned with garlic and a local chile sauce and slow grilled. The fish melted in our mouth . We ate family style and also had ropa veija . The meat was great, much better than I have eaten in Florida however the snapper was so outstanding it dwarfed any entry. I hate to write this review because in the restaurant their were only locals eating. We were on the water watching big yachts going out to sea. We can't wait to visit again . The check was $80 (American) for 4 drinks, 2 glasses of wine, 1 fizzy water and food that was out of this world. There were 3 of us and we took food home. read more
