This has been our go-to place for dinner when we arrive on the island. I'm sad to say that this time the food was disappointing. We did not go back after that one meal. The coconut shrimp used to be stellar, but they were a bit tasteless . The shrimp tacos were a special that night, so we ordered those as well, and did not finish them. Great food! Even better Carajillos! Went multiple times during 6 day visit. The Ceviche and blue crusted Shrimp Tacos are top notch. Located in the middle of the island for a city view (and bonus view of beautiful dog poking his head through an elaborate staircase). We really liked Caribbean Brisas. We always sat at the bar, and practiced our Spanish with the bartender, Sandra. Excellent margaritas and cold beers. We also split nachos as a nibble as well. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Check them out - especially for margaritas! read more

This place is hit or miss. Some of the dishes were amazing while others were very disappointing. I would stay away from any dishes with beef both the beef carpaccio and ribeye were tuff and unappetizing. The appetizers were great definitely order the tuna spring rolls and calamari. The blacked grouper with shrimp special was definitely the star of the show. It was outstanding and definitely what you need to order when you come here. Tried to go to this place with 6 guests at 3:45pm on a Wednesday. They said, "we only have seats in the sun or on the swings." So we asked to see the menu to see if it would be worth eating in the blazing sun or having our abuelita sit on a swing. They wouldn't let us see the menu, so we'll never know. read more

We were trying to go to mango cafe but it was closed for renovations. Tired and frustrated from waking we continued on a few more feet and stumbled on Caribbean Brisas. What a pleasant surprise! Everyone was instantly in a better mood when served the amazing bloody Mary's! Our waiter was super attentive and patient with our large group and separate checks and even let us pay with a credit card to save our cash. The food fell in line with the service, everything was excellent! If you want sweet, get the French toast, if you want savory I had the stuffed bell pepper and it was so yummy! I trusted the majority of reviews, and while the food was good, the service is poor. We had the Chef Special- Blackened Grouper w/ 3 jumbo shrimp. It came on top of extremely bland "mashed" potatoes and only two asparagus. The fish & shrimp were cooked well, but all in all it was overrated. I asked for bread, and it was over toasted and tasted more like day old toast. Other than taking our order, the waitstaff was MIA the majority of the meal. By far the best little island treat off the beaten path in Isla Mujeres. Many great options to choose from. Taxi ride is only $3-6 from the port. Everything is very fresh and cooked to order. By far the best meal we had while in Mexico. And we had drinks, 2 appetizers and 2 main course meals for $78 USD. In America, my lobster alone would've been $70 plus dollars.
