I ordered a shrimp cocktail and "camarones a la diabla" which I forgot to take pictures of but they both were really good. I asked for medium spicy and that was good enough for me! My fiancé said this "huachinango" if I'm not mistaken fish was the best he had had in a long time. He kept saying how good it was until he finished it, which made me very happy. This place came highly recommended by a friendly local when asked about the best lobster dinner on the island. When we asked the host about the prices, he stated anywhere from $60-$90 based on the catch for the day. Unfortunately, when we were seated and started our order, the waiter stated that all lobsters were about $120 that day. (Now, mind you that these are lobsters that they literally swim out & catch for free). We opted to just get chips & guacamole which was pretty good. The food was pretty terrible, and the coconut shrimp was almost inedible. I will say the guacamole was delicious in spite of the chips. Service was pretty terrible. This is small very local establishment. Don't let the outside and plastic tables and chairs scare you off. The neighbors might look better but their prices are double and have mixed reviews. The attention was good and the food was spectacular. They brought my husband different fish to pick from. I was also allowed to pick my lobster tail. They all had different prices. Ate twice at Picus while there for a week. Excellent dishes and great basic lime margarita--the best we had the entire week. The stuffed mixed seafood filet had a wonderful creamy white sauce. The location is on the strip downtown Isla Mujeras-it is on the Marina front - nice beach vibe with local flavor! Was referred here by a friend. Cute little place on the beach. At first we thought it was a tourist destination (could be) but it was mostly Mexicans eating here. They had live music and everyone was in a good mood. We ordered 2x Tecate beers, 2x Mango margaritas, and a bottle water. For lunch we had Octopus in Garlic butter and a large whole fried fish ($600). The fish was a little disappointing as the meat was a little dry & chewy. Not sure if it was due to over-cooking or if it was the fish itself. The octopus was good. The show stealer was the spicy lime pepper hot sauce - very spicy but delicious. After all these years, finally popped into Picus for an excellent drink and came back for dinner a couple nights later. It's so close to the ferry we kind of presumed it would be super touristy, expensive, or not very good. Instead, it was delicious, reasonably priced, with generous portions and the patrons were a mix of tourists and island locals. Highly recommend the shrimp ceviche. We also order beef fajitas which were very good and the fish Picus. As many places are these days it seems it may be understaffed and you may wait a bit for your server to revisit you, but what's the rush? You're there on the Marina, feet in the sand... there are worse places to enjoy a leisurely paced meal. read more

This is smack in the middle of the touristy beach strip right when you disembark from the ferry. This was the first spot we tried on the island on our week there and I wish we ended our trip back over here. You get a great deal for a lot of fresh seafood. We were hoping to grab a snack before dinner and ordered two mango margs, the fresh fish filet in Tikinxic style and conch (carocol) served garlic style and got complimentary chips and salsa. Both were pretty good and big portions served with a side of salda, rice and beans. I wanted to come back for the whole fish prepared in that same Tikinxic style (delish btw, not sure what was in it) but we never made it back. They bring over some fresh fish for you to choose from if your order a whole fish. We spent less than $50 for everything which considering the portion size and food quality/taste, it was a nice deal. read more

The best Mexican local food that I had on this trip. The ceviche was super fresh with the perfect balance of salty, sour, and sweet. We got the mixed ceviche and loved the conch in it. Another surprise dish that was a favorite of our family is the seafood spaghetti. It's not with red sauce but more like a white sauce. Highly recommend! Last but not least, is the tamarindo at just 25 pesos. This drink will make me want to make another trip to Isla Mujeres. Picus serves seafood at tables right on the sand in the downtown section of Isla Mujeres, close to the ferry terminal. We saw a good number of locals eating here, so thought we'd stop in for a quick dinner. We started with the ceviche mixto, a lovely, refreshing combination of shrimp, conch, other seafood, tomatoes, and cucumbers in an acidic marinade. We also had one of the house specials, the filete picus, a tender fillet of fish covered in a hearty, salty mushroom sauce with white wine and served with rice, salad, and potatoes on the side. I went to Cancun recently and during our trip, my friends and I booked a tour to Isla Mujeres. Due to the fact that we booked an all-inclusive trip, the food at the resorts were not as good. I really wanted to try local food, so during our visit to Isla Mujeres, we came upon Picus. As you can tell from the pictures, the restaurant is very casual and as authentic as can be! It's literally on the beach and nothing beats the beach view. The tortilla chips were so delicious! I do not think i can compare it to anything else in the states! Pico de gallo salsa is usually my favorite and when they served it with the chips upon being seated, I was so excited! It was really good and had a nice kick to it from the jalapeños. I ordered the shrimp ceviche. It comes in 2 sizes; medium and large. I ordered the medium size (refer to picture again) and it was a really fair portion. I could not finish! This is one of the places i really adore from my trip to Cancun and would recommend it to anyone who is making a trip out that way. read more

Took the ferry from Cancun to Isla Murejes and stopped by this gem. The ceviche mixto was amazing! The flavor and mix of seafood were absolutely perfect. It even included conch which other places didn't offer. We also ordered the octopus cocktail and it was more than enough for two people. I ordered the pescado frito for lunch and it was fried to perfection - with just the right amount of seasoning. The rice was a tad dry, but the salsa picante from the waiter helped moisten it. We come here every trip to Isla, at least twice. Go for the whole fried hog-nosed snapper. It's a beautiful fish that is caught that morning. The ceviche is excellent too. Wash it all down with a Sol. This is a local place close to the ferry. It's not much for looks or music, but that's why we like it. It isn't overrun with tourists. Love this place! Came here for lunch during our Cancun trip last year and the food was fresh. We returned this year and had lunch and dinner then watched the sunset. It's awesome! Friendly staff who speaks little English and our limited Spanish vocabulary didn't stop us from enjoying great food and sand on our feet. Live music in the afternoon well into closing time just made the day even more special. All in all, we ordered garlic conch, mixed civeche, grilled fish (A la Tikinxic), baked fish, beers, a couple fresh coconuts for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended and we won't hesitate to catch the ferry from Puerto Juarez (much cheaper fare - US$10/pp round trip) to come back for another nice meal. read more
