My family & I love this restaurant, we met the owners while eating breakfast at this local mercado and they invited us to visit. We were pleasantly surprised how superb this place is. Great authentic seafood restaurant with live music. The service is very pleasant the staff is very attentive. Prices are reasonable. I cannot wait to go back and visit again.

This is small very local establishment. Don't let the outside and plastic tables and chairs scare you off. The neighbors might look better but their prices are double and have mixed reviews. The attention was good and the food was spectacular. They brought my husband different fish to pick from. I was also allowed to pick my lobster tail. They all had different prices. We had a table by the edge of the water. I would recommend this place to everyone. It was recommended to us by the receptionist at our hotel

Best place ever!!! I can't come here enough! Love their staff & ceviche. Freshest fried fish ever.

Picus was recommended by locals and many who have visited Isla Mujeres previously! After we arrived and rented our golf cart (great tip-do this-helps w/time management)we went to the beach for a few hours our group looked forward to having a nice seafood dinner! The location is on the strip downtown Isla Mujeras-it is on the Marina front - nice beach vibe with local flavor! The meal selections were vast: shrimp, lobster, mussels, lobster and lots of great side dishes! The food was delicious and the drinks even better! If the locals tell you a spot to try--listen to them--Trust Me! This was some of the best food I had while in Cancun! When I visit in the future, Picus will be at the top of my list!

Was referred here by a friend. Cute little place on the beach. At first we thought it was a tourist destination (could be) but it was mostly Mexicans eating here. They had live music and everyone was in a good mood. We ordered 2x Tecate beers, 2x Mango margaritas, and a bottle water. For lunch we had Octopus in Garlic butter and a large whole fried fish ($600). The fish was a little disappointing as the meat was a little dry & chewy. Not sure if it was due to over-cooking or if it was the fish itself. The octopus was good. The show stealer was the spicy lime pepper hot sauce - very spicy but delicious. Our meal was $1,205 MXN before tip. Would try again but either order a smaller fish and other dishes.

Our first night in Isla and all the food we had was delicious. The chicken breast was flavorful and not dry.

Looking for a place to eat we asked several locals where to go ? They all told us to go to Picus! We where seated right away. Service was a little slow but not too bad. The food was very delicious! They had live music too. I will return in the future.

Pick your fish for the whole fish orders.

This is smack in the middle of the touristy beach strip right when you disembark from the ferry. This was the first spot we tried on the island on our week there and I wish we ended our trip back over here. You get a great deal for a lot of fresh seafood. We were hoping to grab a snack before dinner and ordered two mango margs, the fresh fish filet in Tikinxic style and conch (carocol) served garlic style and got complimentary chips and salsa. Both were pretty good and big portions served with a side of salda, rice and beans. I wanted to come back for the whole fish prepared in that same Tikinxic style (delish btw, not sure what was in it) but we never made it back. They bring over some fresh fish for you to choose from if your order a whole fish. We spent less than $50 for everything which considering the portion size and food quality/taste, it was a nice deal.

    Ceviche de camarones/shrimp

Nice spot on the main drag of Isla de Mujeres. Basic menu with some local fried fish and ceviche. I recommend the shrimp ceviche here and the whole fried fish - that's enough to share for 2! It's conveniently located by the express ferry, good if you are just arriving or about to leave the island.

    Mixed ceviche
    Christina D.

The best Mexican local food that I had on this trip. The ceviche was super fresh with the perfect balance of salty, sour, and sweet. We got the mixed ceviche and loved the conch in it. Another surprise dish that was a favorite of our family is the seafood spaghetti. It's not with red sauce but more like a white sauce. Highly recommend! Last but not least, is the tamarindo at just 25 pesos. This drink will make me want to make another trip to Isla Mujeres. I kept coming back to Picus to buy more tamarindo and put in my thermos to enjoy the whole day. On the last day before boarding the ferry, we stopped by and bought 2 for to-go.

Missing items we requested and having to ask a few times. The place looks nice and open with two levels. They are supposedly a "market" but it's a restaurant and a pier stop. People with their boast can come in. They have showers as well. We order the grouper (fish) and 1 dozen of oysters on the half shell. The fish came with the choice of rice, pasta or steamed vegetables. We decided to do the whole fish and get one filet out. I'm originally from an island so eating a whole fish is normal so I wanted to experience it again because back home where we live we don't have it. The fish was ok. It needed more flavor. Rice was hard and cold and not really tasty. The oysters were harder than usual. We ordered two of their Marbella sunrise (drinks) and they were good. Overall the food was NOT good or fresh. It made me sick! I got food poisoning. At the end of our trip in the island I got so sick I was puking on the beach and then walking the streets like a drunk person puking my guts out and not even with a buzz?! No thanks! My final advice? AVOID at all cost because what you will be missing here is your money from your wallet. Nothing special. Save your money and go somewhere else.

She was walking us a little towards the back, but since it was my first time to Isla, I wanted to people-watch, so I asked about a table up front. As soon as we headed over, I saw why she passed it - it was right next to the saxophone player! Thank goodness his volume level was perfect! Just loud enough to be heard over the crowds walking down the 'lane' out front and the restaurant diners' chatting. But not so loud that we 3 couldn't chat. We loved it! Now these two can EAT - and love to try everything on the menu, whereas I tend to eat smaller portions. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic - huge pieces of shrimp, so good! The lobster mac n cheese is so good, I would have loved to bring a big container of it home with me! The restaurant is very busy but very clean and tables are well organized for maneuvering a quick trip to the restroom before leaving. Our server, Maylen was attentive and pleasant. This beach club is almost everything one would want to avoid in a beach club. + Filthy dressing rooms with smelly standing water underneath open slats of wood. + No locker service, but torn apart locker ruins containing people's personal belongings. + Two small, old swimming pools filled with drunks carrying glass bottles and wine glasses. Twice I watched a drunk drop a beer bottle and have it bounce on the cement. What happens when someone smashes a glass? Do they close the whole facility and drain the pool? + Tiny, postage stamp Beach area. Normally one would appreciate a location away from the city center, but this location is so far from the city center the only way to get here is 2 rent a vehicle or pay for a taxi. Based on the description in all of the ads, I expected something similar to services typical of at least a two-star hotel. maybe I came in with way too high expectations. I traveled to Isla mujeres from my beautiful hotel with its four glimmering pools, one of which was an actual infinity pool. Do not travel more than 15 minutes from your place of residence to get here or you will be disappointed. The food. The food was tasty and the food service met expectations. That's the reason for two stars rather than one. I had the Yucatan ceviche and the fried calamari with a side order of french fries. The ceviche was plentiful and tasted good. The fried calamari portion was tiny and was a bit squishy. The french fries tasted bland and we're stale.
