Lately…read moremy arms, shoulders, and back have been sore from carrying my 1-year-old, so I was hoping for some relief. On Monday I got out of work early and stopped by, but they were busy -- fair enough. The next day, I called to schedule an appointment for Thursday 9:45am, the only other time I'm off work and have childcare this week. Instead of booking me, they told me to call back Thursday morning 9am because the person on duty didn't know the schedule for that day. That didn't make sense to me -- I didn't want to wait until the last minute to find out if they could fit me in, especially when I'd have no time to find another option. Because of this, I booked an appointment elsewhere. It's disappointing that they couldn't accommodate a walk-in and also made scheduling an appointment unnecessarily difficult.

It had been years since I had my last massage. Setting up an appointment was super easy and got one the very next day. I had booked an hour long deep tissue and Amanda was my masseuse. It was incredible, she went straight to work on my tight shoulder without any word from me. Could she tell by looking at me or my posture, I don't know. I realized I was long overdue and the massage felt so effective I was able to extend to 2 hours. The business name is spot on - you really are in good hands here. Amanda is so good at what she does I was blown away. Some of it was very painful but she would often check in with me and ask if it was too much, and I think that is to be expected if you want results and you've got a lot of muscle tightness like myself. I can definitely recommend her for deep tissue massage and I will definitely be going back for a follow up in the near future!

There was a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders, so Michelle was focusing on those areas first me during the massage. She also ended up cracking my back, which felt good as well. Wished that there was a little more done for the feet, but that is okay. I feel more relaxed after the massage. Overall, loved the massage Only wished that I could have stayed longer. .

Stopped in for a massage with my sisters and, unfortunately, the experience wasn't what I was…read moreexpecting. I had called a week in advance to book our appointments: a 75 minute body and foot massage for $70, a 75 minute prenatal massage for $70, and a 2hour body and foot massage for $110. When we arrived, the staff were very nice and friendly, which made a good first impression and gave me hope the visit would go smoothly. I shared a room with one of my sisters who was getting the prenatal massage, and while my bed was heated, it got so warm that I started sweating and had to ask them to turn it off. A male masseuse came in to work on me, which I personally didn't mind, but I do think they should ask clients their preference beforehand. As for the massage itself, it was just okay. I usually leave feeling completely relaxed, but this one didn't really do that for me. The techniques weren't great, and some of the small touches I've come to expect, like a head or scalp massage, never happened. When he moved to my legs and feet, he put on gloves, which honestly made it feel awkward and less soothing. There were a few moments where I felt more uncomfortable than relaxed, which kind of defeated the whole purpose. My sister's prenatal massage was another disappointment. About 20 minutes before her session was supposed to end, the masseuse told her she was finished and asked if she wanted to wait outside or stay in the room and rest. That meant she only received about 55 minutes of her 75 minute session, which felt really unfair considering we paid for the full time. The checkout process was the final straw. I was told there's a $1 per person fee for paying with a card, which already felt unnecessary. I was charged $233, and then the staff realized they rang it up incorrectly and charged my card again for an extra $20. The whole situation felt messy and unprofessional, especially after being told there was a specific card fee and then seeing extra charges added on anyway. Overall, I left more frustrated than refreshed and won't be returning.

Dolce Vita Luxury Day Spa was easy to find and practically surrounded by a beautiful Granite Bay…read moreneighborhood. When my daughter and I walked in, we noticed a beach scene painted on the walls. We sat on the couch while the receptionist finished a transaction with another customer. After a few minutes, we were called back and shown the changing room. We were able to change and safely store our clothes and purses in lockers that only we had the key to. We were given clean robes and slippers, then directed to the relaxation room to wait for our couples "Perfect Time Out for 2" spa package in a private suite. The package includes either a 30-minute aromatherapy sauna or a 30-minute hydrotherapy bath, followed by a 60-minute combination massage. The combination massage uses both light and medium pressure and is meant to ease muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote lasting relaxation. We only sat in the relaxation room for a few moments before our massage therapists told us that our private suite was ready. When we walked in, the room was dark and lit with battery-operated candles. It smelled wonderful, and soothing music was playing. There was also a television mounted in the corner, which I didn't feel was necessary in such a relaxing environment. We began with the hydrotherapy bath. The bath normally includes almond oil, but because one of us has a mild almond allergy, they substituted bath salts and other wonderfully scented oils instead. The tub had jets that we could turn on, and it was very relaxing. After 30 minutes, our massage therapists let us know it was time to move to the tables for our 60-minute massages. We got down to our birthday suits and slipped underneath the sheets. Penny was my massage therapist, and my daughter had Remni. Penny did massage my entire body, but it felt more like she was rubbing my skin rather than working the muscles underneath. Honestly, I have had better 30-minute massages at the mall and during pedicures. However, I did appreciate the stretches and the relaxing oil rubdown.... sort of. I really wanted my muscles to be rubbed, but we never got there. My daughter, on the other hand, said her massage was amazing. Ugh--that's what I wanted! I'm glad she enjoyed herself. She said she would definitely go back. I would consider returning too, but I would want a different massage therapist next time. Throughout our visit, we were offered complimentary beverages. After our massages, we sat in the relaxation room, where I enjoyed a glass of red wine. Once I finished, we returned to the changing room. There was also a shower available if we wanted to rinse off before getting dressed. My daughter and I changed and headed to the front to take care of the bill. I was able to use a gift card given to me by someone I used to know, so thanks, buddy! Overall, the private suite and hydrotherapy bath were relaxing, the atmosphere was soothing, and my daughter absolutely loved her massage. My experience was a little more mixed, but I would still be open to returning and trying someone else. I felt like the massage part of the package was a very important part, and it unfortunately fell short, so I did let the front desk know. And please, don't forget to tip!
