I discovered a gem of a massage shop yesterday. I had just finished my lunch at Mikuni's on Hazel and decided to go next-door to Elaine Massage for a one hour massage. The place was clean and the massage therapist was cute and friendly so I had a good first impression. My lower back had been bothering me so I asked her to spend extra time on my lower back which she did. It felt much better after she put some serious effort into loosening up my lower back muscles. It had been a while since I had my last massage so I had forgotten just how good a professional massage can feel. I had a pretty good experience and would probably go back if I'm in the area. The masseuse was friendly and had good technique. I would have given 5 stars except for the "tip talk" which started immediately...recalling customers that tipped her 100%, etc. I know they depend on tips. So does everyone else. Yes, it is , a very nice place that is. The girls are very lovely, the beds are nice, they have a great punch card that makes it soo your tenth massage is free. The place is very relaxing and the masseuses put you at complete ease. I had to get my friend to check this place out I loved it soo much and he loved it too. I've been going to Elaine's in orangevale for past 2 years ever since I fell off a ladder and broke my heal in several places. This is a very clean, professional shop. The masseuse has been the same since I started going. She's very good at her job and is very sensitive to my injuries and communicates when she works around the damaged area. I've continued going at least once a month, as I feel the benefits of this treatment helped me recover much quicker and I feel so much better always after I get massage here. I will continue to visit Elaine's on Hazel and if you're looking for a clean professional shop to get a great massage. I recommend this one. Plus Mikuni's is right next door. Not great--we won't be back. Came here with my boyfriend for a massage and we were rushed into separate rooms before we could even confirm the price. First of all, the owner WILL NOT honor the $10 off coupon on Yelp. Ok, fine, no big deal. Wish she'd told me before the massage, but that's ok. We got our massages which were mediocre, but the bed was clean and the space was more or less quiet. Both of us agreed they weren't painful, but not great--3 stars. Technique was lacking. Anyway, I go to pay and offer a 20% tip --$16 for an $80 Massage. The lady ringing me up makes a face like she's insulted and asks if I can pay $20 instead. Umm, what? Seriously? It was so relaxing here. They have 4 individual rooms that were just nice. Ed is so amazing. He has a magic hand . I feel so so good. His coworker ,Yoyo was so friendly to set me up and explain to me about what they will work on me. It was clean, smell good and loving. It was way better than any other massage place I ever come around here. You even will be in the private room even only get foot massage. $29 for foot massage and $45 for body but u pay what u get. The massage was interrupted by her taking phone calls twice, plus three times she had to leave the massage room to see who came in when the front door bell chimed. Then having her cell phone buzzing/vibrating on the wooden stand next to the massage table did not add to the ambience. the massage was just not that good even without the interruptions. I was still going to tip her and when I paid she took my cash and put it in her pocket without even offering my change. I hurt my lower back at work, worst muscle spasm I'd ever had. I went to 2 doctors and nothing helped. After reading the yelp reviews I went to make appointment with yuyu. The next day my back was like I never had a muscle spasm, I couldn't believe it. I don't know how she fixed it but it was the best choice I ever made!!! I have been to Elaine Massage 5 times now and I though it was to me to write a review. Each time I go I am greeted like it is the first time I have been there. There is one woman there and she is very pleasant to talk with, and she does a wonderful job. I work in at a computer every day, and in between my shoulders and up my neck I get pain regularly. After a session with her, I feel so much better. She really pays attention to what I say, and always works out the kinks in my back and neck. She varies pressure on upper back, to my neck, and to my lower back. She seems to know exactly what pressure to use as she works. The rooms are very clean, the massage table is pretty comfortable. The rooms also smell very fresh, and the soft music really will relax you and you will come out of there feeling very refreshed. A very professional place to receive a massage. I encourage you to go there. There is only one woman working, but each time I have gone there she is available. I give this establishment a thumbs up! read more
