Made a purchase of $1200. Per their website, free delivery and assembly. Delivery was not free as it was not within 10 miles (they said I was 11 miles). Said it would be delivered Friday and someone would call with estimated window. Basically, nobody has called and it was a total waste of my day. I called the store twice and both times was unable to get any delivery time. I will not buy from them again. Manager followed up. Delivery team had the wrong number which explains why nobody called or texted regarding delivery time. Apologized and gave me a cover for the grill . The true measure of a good business is not always getting things perfect, but how they react when things go wrong. I definitely recommend this location again. read more

I've been coming here for years. Staff is always friendly and helpful and they often have what I need (solid selection of hardware). But that's not why I'm writing the review. This past Sunday I was in their store and while making a purchase I left my wallet on the counter. They made several attempts to call me but I didn't recognize the number and it wasn't until the next day that I realized it was missing. Called them and they had it locked in the register waiting for me to pick it up. Their attention and honesty saved me so much time (and possibly money) had the wallet gone missing. Ordered Christmas lights online. Only Ace Hardware remotely in the area to have them. Drove 43 mins arrived at 6:20pm....and they were closed 40mins early. And from other reviews, this isn't surprising the employees must hate their customers just as much as they hate their jobs. read more

The check out guys seemed lazy, and sure enough None of the keys they duplicated worked. I called back and was told "no refund." I asked their manager, he said to drive all the way to Bellevue to get reimbursed. No apologies until I spoke to the opener in Bellevue. Shop at Bellevue! The guys at Belle Meade really have chips on their shoulders. I don't go to Belle Meade unless it's a last resort. Plus the Bellevue store is really clean, is a great gift shop, and the men don't mind helping you instead of walking off to do nothing after 30 seconds helping you. Shop at Bellevue! read more

I like Hart Hardware. I really do. So I went there to have four keys copied. This was our only set of keys to our front door locks. When my husband came home, he brought me four strange-looking keys, only one of which worked. So Hart's key cutter gave me someone else's keys and did not return my original keys. I just had to spend $157.50 to get new keys for my front door locks because Hart Ace Hardware gave me a bunch of bogus keys. I don't recommend that anyone get keys duplicated here because you never know what you're going to get back. read more

Being a female is always a challenge at the local hardware store. Either you don't know exactly where to find things or the clerks treat you like you have no business being there without a penis. Well, I think I experienced the latter yesterday but it was such a quickie, I didn't even notice. I needed spray paint for my graffiti side job. Not really. Actually I was working on my Halloween costume. Perhaps that was my strike one. The parking lot was pretty empty for a Saturday but it is football season so I suppose I understand. A man greeted me before my foot could touch the carpet mat on the inside of the door. He asked what I was looking for and I told him I was painting a straw hat. Again, strike two. He led me to the spray paint section and pointed out a few products. I quickly reviewed with him the difference between gloss, semi-gloss and flat. Strike three? I wanted to be sure that my Mary Poppin's hat would have the right look. It matters people! After some price comparisons, I headed back towards the counter where this same man met me to ring up my order. I was in there for literally 5 minutes max. So points for speedy service. As far as organization goes, I hope that my husband doesn't feel the same way I felt when I drag him to Michael's craft store. The layout just seemed so crammed and nearly caused a panic. But, like any man-cave a flat screen was mounted to an end cap near the register so that no kickoff would be missed. Can't beat that sort of dedication! read more

Terrible service today at ACE. I've been a loyal customer for years and will not be returning. Online orders here are a joke-don't waste your time. I asked multiple employees to look for my online order which was ready per their email to me. No one seemed to care and the one guy who went to the back to look for it never came back. I stood there for at least 15 minutes and got back in line with the same employee who then looked at me like he'd never seen me before. Everyone's tone and demeanor was RUDE. Worst customer service I've experienced in a long, long time. I drove all the way across town because they carry the kind of paint I wanted. However, I could NOT get help in the paint department if my life depended on it. I asked TWICE about getting help and was rudely told they were "too busy" and "short-staffed" both times. That's interesting, because another customer was getting help in the paint department the WHOLE 15-20 we waited. And that employee didn't even acknowledge us or tell us he'd be with us after or anything. Yuck. This place sucks. read more

We moved to Nashville a little over a months ago, and we bought an adorable house with a few projects! We stopped by this store to pick up some more Benjamin Moore paint for the den (almost done priming and painting ONE room...exhausting). The employees were extremely helpful and we ended up purchasing a few more items on their recommendation. (Our usual Ace Hardware store in South Nashville - closer to us - is closed on Sundays, but this store is open for a few hours starting at 12!) read more

Other than its location, I can think of nothing to recommend here. The merchandise is sparse and what there is seems to be haphazardly thrown around without any real rhyme or reason. One can wander around the store endlessly without having a salesperson stop and ask to help. I like Ace Hardware - it feels more personal than the bog boxes, but this onbe is a poor example of the chain. read more

I love this hardware store - because even though the prices are higher than Home Depot etc - its the BEST service around. There are always such knowledgeable people. I once brought in a Dyson - they do not even carry these - and the guys probably spend 45 minutes with me trouble shooting. If you have a question or an odd part you need help with this is the place. Definitely recommend Hart Ace Hardware (both locations), especially for your Big Green Egg needs. I had a terrible experience at Hearth and Grill shop where they tried to overcharge me $300 for something that is covered by warranty from the manufacturer. Jay and Frank at Hart Ace Hardware took care of it, no questions asked. I've also come here many times for tools and mulch. Always a great experience. read more

I had a really unfortunate incident with an associate at this location. The way I understood it is that Ace is supposed to be "the helpful place". Sure enough, when I walked in the store, someone immediately approached me and asked how they could help me today. I let him know I was looking to have some keys made and he quickly began the task. Knowing it would take a few minutes, I began to browse the racks near the counter. There was an ample selection of key rings and key organizers to choose from. As I looked, I noticed there was a quick-disconnect key ring similar to the one I own. Since mine has been giving me trouble I thought maybe I would replace it. As I was looking, I pulled out my car key which was in my back pocket to compare the ring to the one on the shelf. It was similar (theirs was a little shinier). After a brief second, I put the key back in my pocket and continued browsing. I moved on to the bird feeders and ended up down another aisle, where I picked up some leather cleaner for the car. By this time, I approached the front desk where the associate (Sam) indicated that he was ready. As I was checking out, he asked me if that was all and I said yes. He continued asking which key ring did I choose? I said oh, I didn't get one. Then, he furrowed his brow and asked me "are you sure"? .... "Yes, I'm sure.." I said. He said, "you didn't.. slip one in your back pocket?" I'm sorry. At this point I'm a little bit flabbergasted. I realized he was accusing me of stealing a key ring. My defenses kicked in and I pulled out the car key and explained it was my car key. He shrugged it off and continued the checkout process. Stunned, after leaving, I decided to try not to take it personally, because the guy was just doing his job. But, when I brought it up to a friend (clearly I wasn't over it), they suggested that it was entirely inappropriate and that the guy should have spoken to his manager to have them handle the situation. The fact that he didn't apologize to me for the accusation after me emptying my back pocket added another level of insult to injury. I like Ace Hardware, generally speaking. This experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. read more

Good for getting keys made. They could at least look to answer the phone. I called them while waiting and one of the guys in perhaps his mid to late 20s just stood there looking out over the merchandise. The older gentleman was really helpful and apologetic about the long wait. read more

Ace Hardware is a nation chain of hardware stores. I came to this particular location because they carry a fantastic brand of indoor paint called Aura, which has great colors for a pretty good price. Although I came in for paint, I ended up staying and looking around at some of tools and garden stuff that they have. The selection was really good and the staff was very attentive. Imagine walking into a big chain hardware store and having not one, but two people ask you if you need any help! It happened to me, first time ever! What can I say The crew at Hart hardware is amazing. Every time I come in I'm greeted they know my name I'm like Tim the tool man Taylor but without the without the injuries he incurred! This is the second time I've encountered the staff shutting down the store early. I try not to shop at stores right before closing, but sometimes that's not the way life works. The first time, I was there 10 min before closing with my son, and one of the employees (looked like a young manager) kept following me and staring at me, reminding me they were about to close. I was only swinging by for a quick one-product need, but with the pressure to leave, I just left. Then, last night, my wife and I were talking in the car about how nice it would be to grab some firewood on our way home, and when we pulled in 7 minutes before close to get a few packs, the door was locked and the staff tried to ignore me then just stared back at me blankly when I pointed at the hours on the door. I have had positive experiences at other Ace's like Tusculum and Hwy 100, but will never go back to this location. Please address this with your staff, since you have a serious customer service issue at this location. Thank you. read more

There's a lot to like about this store. They have adequate staff, so you can always find things in a hurry, and their selection is large enough so they nearly always have what you need on the shelf. If they didn't have their television tuned to Fox "News" all the time I'd do all of my shopping there. read more
