We stayed here because it was the hotel for a conference nearby in May. The location is great and the outside of the building is really beautiful. Lobby is unique also. The stay was not very pleasant. The walls were thin and we could easily hear people walking by in the hallway when trying to sleep. To start with I had to stop at the reception desk our first night because we didn't have any hand soap. I also had to stop by twice to get toilet paper because the cleaning staff never restocked or left an additional roll. One morning I had to go down to the front desk for more coffee pods because the staff restocked us with only decaf. I tried calling to have them bring some up, but they only had 1 person at the desk and they said they were unable to leave. The AC in our room made a very annoying noise. Overall the rooms were dated. Hallways and lobby were nice. I think the stay could have been better if staff had done a better job of restocking things in our room. read more

Overall, highly recommend if you're in Santa Fe. The location is right net to the plaza, walkable to everything. read more

Had a horrible customer service experience. They charged me a resort fee that wasn't on my original bill. I needed a new receipt to reimburse the charge. They did not provide to me after I checked out, and I sent a series of emails over months and they kept replying asking for me to provide my email so they could send it - even though I was sending them an email and they just needed to reply to my email - and I also provided it in the text. My guess is that I was stuck talking to an AI bot. I also tried calling but no one picked up and when they offered to give me a callback, the system was buggy and told me that "the number you entered was incorrect", as if it was a password, and not my phone number. I finally gave up and submitted the expense without a receipt, but wow, what a fail at a basic function by this hotel. read more

This is a century-old resort that reopened in 2021 completely updated, in a mode cozy Santa Fe style. It is intended to preserve the qualities of old Santa Fe. architectural types very close to the Pueblo-Spanish. The renovation was very well done. The Eldorado is very well located , just five minutes away from the Santa Fe Plaza. Where you have great shopping including my favorite Lucchese cowboy boots store. You can immerse yourself in spiritual healing at the spa and develop an understanding for local native's traditions. The rooms are spacious and the staffs are very dedicated and helpful. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at El Dorado. The hotel is in a great location and is modern while maintaining Santa Fe style. The hotel room wasn't quite as luxurious as I would have thought, but overall the layout was good. I don't know if we got an upgrade or how it happened, but we somehow got a great room right next to the rooftop pool and hot tub. It was great to wake up and have our coffee on the patio (although the in-room coffee wasn't very good!) read more

Stayed here for 4 nights when visiting Santa Fe and what the hotel has going for it is definitely its location. It's central to everything and makes for super easy walks around Santa Fe and is great location to start your adventure. Unfortunately the property could use some love-bathtub was peeling, broken attachments in the shower, AC wasn't powerful enough to truly cool the room and thin walls had us waking up to loud tvs from the room next door. Not sure the cons make it worth the price-there seem to be a ton of properties nearby and rates seemed comparable. Valet parking is included in the additional amenity fee of $35 a day. The rooftop pool is nice and gym was okay but super hot and no fans were around. Staff was friendly and bar was a nice stop on the margarita trail. read more

When we checked in we were charged an additional resort fee. A section of that fee was designated for gym use, which is completely closed due to renovation. The woman took my card and didn't even tell me what I was being charged for. I had to ask. There is construction being done on our floor. Why would not apologize for the inconvenience? The AC is the room is broken, so we were tossing and turning all night. We went for a cocktail around 9:15, the bartender was so nasty and rude and told us she was closing down. At 9:15? The 'resort' area had little to no lights so it was a hazard to use the hot tub. Additionally, the hot tub water so hot it almost burnt our skin. I can't believe I wasted $230 on this room. I enjoyed the texts welcoming us and asking us if we needed anything, but there are some things described above that are unacceptable to me. We will return to Santa Fe and stay elsewhere. read more

I stayed here over Santa Fe Indian Market 2025. They were understaffed, overbooked, and overpriced. It's frustrating when you're spending so much money and can't get someone to help with your bags, so you barely make your plane on time. BUT the reason they got a 1 start is because my ceiling was leaking and started to peel. To say I did feel safe is an understatement, because this problem had obviously been going on for a long time because there were several patch jobs over it. The staff are amazingly nice, the location is prime, and the room is good; however, the windows are not sealed well if there is heavy rain you'll get some inside in certain rooms. We stayed here when visiting the town for a friends wedding. The staff was very friendly and helpful with our group. The rooms were all spacious and clean. We upgraded to have a pool patio but it wasn't accessible to the pool and provided no view which was a little disappointing but overall a beautiful hotel. First of all they said they didn't have military discount or government rate for the room I was booking, I looked to the left of the counter and they have all these certificates and plaques stating they honor and value all service members. Not having military discount is one thing, but posting up all these plaques saying you're going to recognize and support our country's service members and then not doing so, is another. Second of all I told them I was booking the room specifically to swim in the heated pool and relax in the jacuzzi, and asked where the nearest shop was that sold swimsuits. We got back from buying swimsuits and the heated pool and jacuzzi were down for maintenance and after speaking to the bartender at the pool apparently the pool/jacuzzi had been down all day since the morning. This was a very horrible and expensive experience, not to mention a total waste of time shopping for swimsuits. They tried everything not to give me my refund but they ended up refunding the stay, thank god. Just a warning for people who work hard for their money and don't want to get ripped off or lied to. read more

We stayed at your hotel a couple of weeks ago. The stay was wonderful however my credit card info was stolen when I gave the card as requested to the front desk clerk. I never, not one time, charged anything to my room or used the card again in the hotel. I had already paid for our room through Capitol One Travel so there was no need to charge anything to our card. But charges started coming in. I notified the hotel and was put on eternal hold. So I called Capitol One. They worked with me and temporarily took the charges off while investigating. Now they are all back on. Over $600 of charges that were stolen by one of your employees and nothing is being done. We loved the hotel and had planned to come back but there is no way we can risk it. I will also be telling everyone I know that they will risk fraud if they stay there and the hotel will do nothing about it. read more

The Eldorado is located within easy walking distance of all the popular restaurants, shops, and galleries. Suites have kiva fireplaces and balconies. Beds, linens, towels all of good quality. Staff is polite , cheerful, and helpful. Parking can be very challenging. We arrived just as the governor lifted the mask mandate and it was clear all the hotels and restaurants were just short of their regular staffing. The hotel bar and restaurant on the lobby level were closed most of the time and the spa hadn't reopened yet. There's a bar with food, tables and a fire pit near the second floor pool and their hours focus on weekends right now. I recommend this hotel for its location, staff, and comfort. read more

The Eldorado really is our favorite lodging in Santa Fe. We have stayed in many different hotels in Santa Fe but the Eldorado is consistently high quality, reasonable and ideally located. The nachos in the on-site restaurant, Agave, are outstanding and at $6 during happy hour, an amazing deal. The beans were delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. Valet parking is included in your hotel rate, and the valets are very quick and responsive. The driveway can be a little tricky, don't park in the circle drive in front of the entrance, go just past that driveway and make a right into the underground valet. There is an elevator directly to the lobby for a speedy check-in. The rooms were kept very clean by the friendly staff. The gym is a special treat as it has one of the best views I have seen from Santa Fe. read more

I was expected a more modern hotel with 5 star cleanliness and this isn't what we got. the front desk was absolutely swamped and it looked like she was the only person working the lobby bathroom had old toothpaste glued to the sink the spa we used had almost nothing stocked in the bathroom, no teas in the restoration room, and was quite cramped This hotel is not cheap whatsoever so I was shocked seeing what we got. read more

The Eldorado hotel was very very nice. We reserved a king size bed with a fireplace and patio. It had beautiful views and a spacious room with a WALKIN CLOSET. It made it really easy to keep our room tidy. The gym was nice, there were water bottles available everywhere and a great pool/hot tub. It even had a valet! But the best part was its proximity to everything. We walked everywhere. The only thing we didn't like was the resort fee. I'd rather the nightly rate be higher than have an added resort fee. read more

While staying at the hotel, they put me near the pool at approximately 9 PM. I called down to the front desk as there were kids screaming at the top of their lungs. I requested they ask them to a quiet down. I didn't ask that they shut them down completely or kick them out. I was told that quiet hour started at 10. I explained that it was excessive even prior to 10 PM. They said they would send somebody down which did not happen. They continued to do so for quite some time at which time I called the second time I spoke to one of the team members at the front desk and was told yet again they could be as loud as they wanted, I asked them if I could come down to the front lobby and scream at them as it wasn't quite 10 PM yet they said no followed up with asking the person's name so I could speak to the manager in the morning not trying to be the proverbial Karen and was told no and they hung up on me. I've never been treated like that at a hotel just for asking for a little decrease in volume would I ever stay in this hotel again not if the hotel staff treats their guests in this manner it's extremely unacceptable unprofessional and just not nice. I do leave most of the responsibility on the parents who were not supervising their young children. read more

The lobby is lovely as is the staff. The room is fine although my view is of a dumpster. The bedding and towels are clean but the body lotion in my room was used which isn't sanitary especially in our post pandemic world. A week ago my husband and I had our wedding reception at El Dorado, with most of our guests traveling from New York. Their stay was seamlessly, they were treated amazing and the staff was always helpful, specially Josh at the front desk. Because of Covid in 2020 we had to change the date and Beth Schelling was extremely helpful throughout the planing and changing the date process. Ludwig and his team helped coordinate everything and were professional, courteous, and always there to help, it made us relax and enjoy our wedding day, which we will appreciate for the rest of our lives. We can't thank Ludwig enough for how he made us feel throughout the day, happy and at peace that everything was taken care of. We are extremely happy we chose El Dorado. The service was spectacular! We did a random day trip to Santa Fe, it was absolutely beautiful so we decided to find a place last minute to stay at and we found this beautiful hotel. The service from the front desk to the valet was amazing. The valet person was very informative of what places to check out. The bottom line is I would not feel SAFE staying here again. Hotel engineering actually removed the fire detector from our room after the fireplace set it off. We only noticed this after they left and when we asked for it to be replaced the next day they asked why! This hotel boasts Condé Nast and AAA diamond ratings but my 3 night stay here fell short in so many ways. The room was dated, pool and spa out of order, housekeeping threw out personal belongings, room service was unaccommodating and requests to speak to a manager initially went unanswered. The hallway carpet was shampooed and left soaking wet. I could go on but you get the idea. Management eventually met with me and made concessions (short of reducing hotel rate) but what was supposed to be a special experience felt like a budget hotel stay. BTW, the rooftop balcony with city views that is advertised is not public it's part of the presidential suite. read more

My trip to the elderado hotel has just been about average. I would give it a 3.5 stars if possible. This review will be split into a few parts. The room, shopping and dinning and hotel offerings. The room: Our first room was a double bed suite with a bathroom, living space and patio. The room was very spacious but in a bit of disrepair. There was part of the wallpaper tearing off in the restroom and a leak over the bed. We moved due to the leak to two rooms next to each other one a king room and one a double bed room. Everything about the king room was fine but the double bed room had a noisy fridge and a broken window frame. The room comes with a coffee machine but that's it in terms of cooking. You are also given a facial wash bar, a body wash bar, body wash, shampoo, creme rise (conditioner), lotion and a single makeup wipe. All of these are awful so I highly suggest bringing your own items especially for face cleaning. The beds are very comfortable compared to most hotel beds I've slept in. Overall the rooms are decent but be prepared for small disrepair in the room. Shopping and Dinning: They're are plenty of dinning locations in the hotel. I haven't gotten the chance to try one yet but I will in the future. In terms of shopping there's a small gift shop that sells mainly jewelry and a mini food mart by the front desk. However there's plenty of shopping and dinning just a short walk or drive away from the hotel. Hotel offerings: The pool area was very very nice with two hot tubs and plenty of very comfortable seating. There is also a spa but I probably won't use it on this trip. read more

I RARELY give a bad review especially if it looks like a business is trying to deliver a premium experience. However, I feel compelled to give an accounting of our recent stay here. First, the carpets are FILTHY. They weren't vacuumed let alone cleaned. The housekeeping staff was friendly but clearly untrained. I've never been in a hotel that advertises itself as a 4 Diamond Hotel where the housekeeping staff is shouting and talking VERY loudly in the hallways starting at 8:00 am apparently unaware that hotel guests might be trying to continue sleeping. There are fireplaces in the rooms but you must get someone to come light them and it was virtually impossible to get that done. It took me 2+ hours and numerous calls to get the fireplace lit. It went out 10 minutes after the guy left. The location is great but the rest is the stuff of nightmares. And if a manager does not respond to this review it tells you all you need to know. There was not a manager present during our entire 5-night stay. :( read more

Hotel- We were at this hotel for two nights for my husbands end of year work related celebration so we did not pay for the hotel room itself. The rooms were clean, the Christmas decor was beautiful, the beds were comfortable. We could even see the luminaries from our window. The location is incredibly close to everything you could want! We walked to see the lights in the square at night and everything we did... once valet parked our car we didn't see it again until we checked out! Fantastic! Meeting space- each morning we had breakfast in one of the ballrooms and there was a dinner and party one of the nights in a ballroom. All of the food was very good and the staff were attentive and helpful. Spa- I had the spirit of heritage treatment and my husband had a traditional massage. Their spa facilities were clean, calming and the tram was fantastic! If we lived closer I'd go as often as I could. I wouldn't change a thing! read more

There doesn't seem to be a direction here. The valet parking staff was especially nice, and the rest of the staff was fine... but if you take a walk around the facility, you wouldn't know if there was any staff. It gives The Shining vibes, in short. Also, no trash cans on any of the guest levels, which was odd. The aesthetic of the lobby and elevators was very nice. And, the walkability to downtown Santa Fe still makes this location prime. read more

I stayed at this hotel during my business trip. It had nice ramp that helped carry luggage to their front lobby instead of going up the stairs with the luggage. The lobby was very pretty, nicely decorated. The front desk staffs were very nice, friendly and helpful. Their gym is small but ok, had all the basic equipment. They had men and women locker room in there too, with shower, bathroom and even sauna in the women's locker room! There was a rooftop pool and Jacuzzi, didn't get to enjoy these, but they looked really nice and clean. There were 2 small water bottles in the room for free, which is always a plus. What surprised me was that they had lots of these small water bottles in the ice bucket in the lobby, next to some apples. We don't see that often. In a hot, dry area, this was very much appreciated. Water pressure of the shower was horrible. Worst ever! I wonder if my room just had bad water flow through the shower, or if everyone had the same water pressure? The furniture in the room looked old. Doors of the cabinets don't close properly. Didn't have much of a view from the room, but it was quiet. My room was on the 4th floor, and there was no ice machine in the "ice/vending machine" Room on the 4th floor... I asked the front desk staff about it, and they said that there is one somewhere on this floor, but it is easier to find it on another floor. I got ice from 3rd floor. If they know the ice machine is hard to find on the 4th floor, why don't they move it to the ice/vending machine room??? This hotel seems to be pet friendly hotel... can hear barking in the hallways, and sometimes in my room. The hotel is in great location, waking distance to most everything like shopping, galleries, restaurants, etc. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Good enough for a short business trip. read more

My mom and I got transferred here after we received an absolutely horrible experience at st Francis. Same management own both hotel saint francis and Eldorado. Not only is el dorado more affordable but the service is much more accommodating. The room itself seemed very average and dated. Nothing really stood out in this hotel other than the beautiful updated modern lobby. The rooms were very average and seemed dated. They did offer a mini fridge which is always nice when places do that. However the outdated bedding, dated shower and there was even a big knick on the wall from the door being slammed open one too many times. I did notice that pets were allowed here. Also another perk of this place is that it has valet at the bottom which makes you not have to worry about parking your car within the main plaza and driving miles and miles just to find a spot. The bar and restaurant here were also really great. We got breakfast down here the morning after our stay and everything was very fresh and relaxing this was probably the best part of the stay besides the location. It was directly behind the plaza but only by a block allowing you to walk everywhere and experience much less outside noise at hotel st francis did. We woke up to the trash truck super early in the morning and could hear people walking outside our hotel. read more
