This brings me to my next point: Who is surprised that you can find cheaper services out in Honeybrook? It's because the cost of operating a business is cheaper in Honeybrook. That's like saying you didn't like the steak at Del Frisco's in Center City because the steak at some dive in nowheresville Chesco is cheaper. Duh. But what about the 45 minute trip up and 45 minute trip back? Does the price of gas and your time not factor into the equation at all? I don't know if Daniel is a business owner or homeowner, but business owners don't just see using a local spot like this as a merely a convenience. Opdenaker consistently misses our recycling and trash and I have to call every time. They claim…read morethey have cameras on their trucks, but somehow our recycling and trash get missed. This causes a lot of inconvenience as recycling gets flown around due to winds/missed pick ups. They won't provide a courtesy heavyweight can. When I spoke to the manager, she offered no help. She told me she would investigate why the pick ups have been missed, but there has been no accountability/follow up. I don't want our neighborhood street to be full of flying trash, but I have no choice. I have chased recycling pieces many times to be a considerate neighbor. Opdenaker said they'd come for a courtesy pick up, but did not. Their communication is poor as they do not post weather related services (delays, etc) in a timely manner. For example, it snowed all day/night, but communication was not posted about pick up. I was trying to be mindful of not having soaking wet recycling left outside for pick up, but I turned into the bad guy. Will have to research a new trash service now.

Sometimes, the business has use of items that we pick up on junk removal work orders, but the vast majority of the time we end up with a huge truck full of junk and waste that we need to get rid of. The Sanitation Convenience centers of Philadelphia are great for organic waste such as trees, brush and other organic debris as well as household trash if you are a citizen just looking to get rid of household quantities of trash or debris. The city has become very strict in regards to commercial dumping at these sanitation centers however and this city definitely doesn't need more trash thrown in the streets. Enter Richard S Burns. I've been coming back and forth to this place for the last few years and keep seeing the same employees - a surefire sign of health in a business. Folks are straightforward, but polite. They have scales present so you are sure you know what your total due is, and they are very good with facilitating travel in and out. Sometimes there is a crazy amount of traffic going on but the staff seem to know how to keep everything in control and to keep the place safe, which I respect. There are signs warning you to be careful when driving in - due to nails in tires and such. I haven't had any problems with this but I imagine it could be a bummer to experience. Overall, the folks here are good at what they do and I always feel safe in the yard. Please don't dump trash in Philadelphia - give a call to Richard S burns to either deliver a dumpster or to process your loaded truck full of debris.
