Unfortunately, I have to leave a 1-star review based on my recent experience…read more I booked "The Works" Custom Facial, which is advertised as a 1 hour and 30 minute service for $140 and includes a double cleanse, exfoliation/dermaplaning if needed, extractions, masks, face massage, cold therapy, serums, moisturizers, and SPF. My appointment started at 3:00 PM, but the facial was finished around 3:50 PM. I asked my esthetician, Serena, why the service ended so early because I was expecting the full 90-minute experience. I was told that the service is based on what your skin needs rather than the scheduled time, and that I did not require many extractions. While I understand that every facial should be customized to the client's skin and that I did receive the LED light treatment, I was disappointed that the service ended after about 50 minutes when I had booked and paid for a facial advertised as 1 hour and 30 minutes. I did not receive a mask, and the facial massage felt extremely minimal. In my experience at other spas, when extractions or corrective treatments are not needed, the esthetician typically uses that time for a longer facial massage, additional mask time, scalp massage, hand and arm massage, neck and shoulder massage, or other relaxing treatments so that the appointment still feels complete and the client leaves feeling cared for and pampered. Instead, I left feeling as though I received less because I take good care of my skin. What was most frustrating was paying the full $140 price, plus a 15% tip, while receiving a significantly shortened service. Had I known that the appointment could be reduced by nearly 40 minutes depending on my skin condition, I would have appreciated that being clearly communicated before booking. Advice: If you have acne, congestion, or significant extraction needs, this service may be a good value for you. However, if you maintain your skin regularly and are looking for a relaxing 90-minute facial, self-care experience, or glow-up refresh, I would strongly recommend asking exactly what is included and how long your treatment is likely to last before booking or just go somewhere else. I left feeling disappointed, misled by the advertised appointment length, and feeling that I did not receive the full experience that was represented for the price.

I love that they carry Morgan Taylor polish! The place is very sanitary with plastic bags covering the soaking tub so it gets changed out after every client. I've been coming back for years after that first visit. Each time I received stellar service and treatments. The store is currently low on staff so I do suggest to call ahead and make an appt. I have severe acne prone skin that requires I come in once a month to get a facial. Over the years, I trust Lizzy to do whatever treatment is needed for my skin to get back into shape. Without a doubt, it always works in helping my skin feel so much better and I have noticed if I don't come for a month, it negatively effects my face where I start getting painful breakouts. Lizzy is a fantastic esthetician. She is super gentle for all her treatments from washing my face to extractions. She always ensures that I am aware of what she is doing especially when certain products tingle. And all of the products she uses smell incredible. She is also hilarious, kind, and really patient. First of all, her products are sensational - her own line is amazing (the sulphur toner, vit c and green tea serums are all staples for me) and the products she uses in her treatments outside of her own line are all high quality. I always find this to be what sets beauty experts apart - products!! And knowing what to use on who! Lizzy nails both. Also, she uses these devices that you won't get during a typical facial. High frequency, cryo therapy, the best LED light therapy available (I know bc I researched it before I even started seeing Lizzy), etc. She does the most gentle extractions, but will go for something stubborn if needed without causing stress to the skin. Pretty sure my first facial I told her about this bump under my skin on my cheek that had been there for months and she just said "oh, I'll get it". And she did! She's well versed on what's pregnancy safe. My skin just looks noticeably improved as soon as I leave a facial with Lizzy. Oh! Let's not forget the space she's created. Her little boutique spa is a little slice of heaven. So peaceful and zen. CLEAN! Her playlists are always on point. Everything about the space is just so effortless. I've been here many times for nail extensions. The only two techs I will ever book with are the…read moreowners, Li and her husband. My issue is with a different nail technician there. Every time I come in to get my extensions removed she tries to rip the extensions off with cuticle nippers after only soaking for 2 minutes. I am an anxious person so I have a hard time speaking up, but these past two times I spoke up multiple times. The last time I went she asked me to pay for the service before it was even finished (she just started). While trying to rip my pinky nail off kept telling me "oh yeah I know, I know" when I asked her a couple more times to soak them off please. Finally I said "on the next nails, can we soak them more before removing, I have very thin nails", she said "oh you wanted soak off?". She wasn't even listening to me. She ripped layers of my pinky nail off and then filed all of my nail plates until the nail was very thin. I will never be coming here again because she asked me to pay before the service was even completed, and she damaged my nails to the point where I cannot get extensions for the next 6 months.

She then asked me to Venmo her a tip. I tipped her out of courtesy, but will never return. I ended up doing my own pedicure when I got home. Waste of money! I much prefer Susan's Nails in Redwood City. They never disappoint, lower cost, and the kindest service. I would much rather drive to them than have an unsatisfied experience for convenience.

Jackie is one of the best manicurists, but I have had many techs here and they are always skillful and do a great job. I get so many compliments on my nails from here. This is a fantastic salon. Very convenient location in downtown Pacifica off of Palmetto. One tip is to book in advance, sometimes for walk-ins they are full so it's best to call them a few days in advance and make an appointment. Overall highly recommend this salon, the techs are nice and the work is fabulous.

I told her I had a couple of spots on my thigh and she reassured me not to worry and that was a normal occurrence and usually after everything sets for 10 hours and you shower, the color blends. She also offered me to come back the next morning if needed, but once I took a shower, the spots were gone and my color looked bronze and even. I have been to many, many nail salons in my day, but this one is the absolute best. Annie works solo so you always know your nails will be exactly the way you like them. She remembers everyone and takes notice to the small things like what temperature you like your water during your pedicure, what shape you like your nails, and your favorite polish colors. She is super hygienic, infact if you are a regular client she has a set of nail files etc, kept in a baggie just for you when you come in. She places a plastic bag around the pedicure bucket so that you don't get germs / bacteria from previous clients. She constantly cleans as she works. She also does a fantastic job on my eyebrows, but that's not all. Recently she has been certified to do eyelash extensions. Because I trust her and know what a perfectionist she is, I decided to give it a try. I had them done and I still cannot believe how fabulous they look. You absolutely cannot tell that they are extensions. I look like I was born like this. It took about 1.5 hours and she only charged me $80-. If I had known how realistic they would look, I would have paid anything. Nails by the Sea is located in the back of a hair salon called Hair by the Sea so it doesn't really jump out at you when you are driving by. Annie Freakin rocks. Her eyelash extentions are awesome!! She fits you in as quick as she can. I LOVE my lashes and love how amazing they look. She is very afordable. I love that I get up in the morning and don't feel the need to put on maleup. Lashes do wonders for your eyes. I don't need to wear mascara anymore, which totally cuts down my makeup application time. I would deffinitely recomend Annie for your lash extentions. The salon is cute. Homey feeling. Very intimate and relaxing. Music is playing while you're getting your lashes done, and it's so relaxing you find yourself drifting off to sleep. Your bottom lashes are taped down, so that they don't glue together. She is very careful. I'm a blinker when someone is near my eyes, and Annie did not get frustrated at all. In fact, she was extra catiuos not to poke me. The tape being pulled off is not a big deal at all, Annie is very gentle. If you haven't tried lashes before, try them. If you have and are looking for someone new, and affordable, try this chick, She's great. You'll love them, I have seen other people with lashes not nearly as full as mine after getting them done. I've always been very hesitant on getting eye lash extensions but always wanted it. Finally I decided to go for it and I am hooked!! Why didn't I do this sooner??? I love how I can just wake up and go and just putting on face make up and blush makes me look like I am fully done up! The best part is my eyes looks a lot more awake! I religiously went to Annie for 5 months straight and I love her. She is so gentle with her application and always on time. If I didn't leave about hr away I would still be going to her. I have gone to Annie since 1998 she is the best ...she ended up working at my salon for many years at Hair by the Sea. I am so happy she is up the street from us so its so easy to see her. She torned a tendon on her hand and I had to go to someone else thats suppose to be good.....not like Annie! i must say, so glad Annie was able to do my nails again. They schedule the old-school way (on paper), so you'll need to call to make an appointment. Hannah is usually the one taking all the phone calls, even while she's working on your nails! Came here yesterday. Nice place. Fast friendly service. Multi racial clientele. Customers knew each other from years ago and like a reunion seeing children now full paying adults to support this place. Nice feeling of a tight community here. Easy parking and reasonable.

The lady who did my nails was fast however she was a little rough with the buffer on the nails. One of my nails came out crooked when she was filing but I asked if she could fix it and did it without a problem. It's a very small salon but they seem to work fast. Prices are decent.
