We didn't send it back because I noticed the server was handling dishes returned to the kitchen at the next table, and our dishes weren't cold or anything, they were just warm. I still maintain they absolutely deserve four stars because I suspect the kitchen might have been having an off night and the food was very good (just the meatloaf was a tad salty). Our server was warm, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about both the food and its preparation. As the evening went on, we learned that this is a family-run restaurant, which only added to the charm and warmth of the experience. I ordered the mussels, one of my favorite dishes, while my girlfriend had the artichoke and mushroom lasagna. For dessert we shared the crème brûlée and a caramel nut tart with mascarpone. Both of us have traveled extensively, eaten at many excellent restaurants around the world, and this was genuinely one of the better meals we've had. The restaurant is beautifully and thoughtfully designed, the food was exceptional, and the service matched it perfectly.
