the presentation took longer than expected....note pad instead of computer. on the day the work was done, and after the work was completed, the crew left without a Final Inspection by the Master Electrician....problem some of the circuits did not work. instead of sending someone to make necessary corrections then, workers showed at the end of the following day finally, on the day the breakers were to be labeled , and fire detectors installed, thst was scheduled for a morning appointment with someone arriving at 3:30 in the afternoon. hopefully these things can be addressed and corrected so the next customer will have a better experience. Run..don't walk! This company did a whole circuit rewire for us and we had a lot of problems! We knew they were going to punch holes in our walls-but they didn't cover any of our TVs, couches, etc so all of the white drywall dust fell on everything. They left all the holes open (as that was a separate charge). Instead of fixing the outlet on our covered patio properly, they just cut it and put a different one in-in a totally different location. The outside flood lights for the back yard were never hooked back up (they said they were never on that circuit (but they were). The motion detector lights for driveway were put on with the light ls behind garage and only worked if those lights were on AND, they didn't pass city of Houston inspections the first time. After telling them about all the mistakes that they needed to fix, they had really crappy attitudes. They said they would fix some of the things but feel we should be responsible for half. The technician is extremely greedy for money and over charging. During the wind tornado in May 2024, I wanted to install a portable generator. Technician demanded $10,500 for immediate installation which came down to $1530 for a delayed implementation after 5 days. The technician assured that he would do end-to-end job for installing portable generator but only did the electric part of installing an Interlock adapter, which was also a poor quality work. For an Interlock adapter for portable generator, I paid $765 where as other contractors charge about $600/- for the same work. The quality of work done by the Electric City Technician is extremely poor and I felt that I have been taken for a ride by the company. I had brought another contractor to repair the work done by Electric City Technician and also complete the remaining work to make the portable generator functional. I attached an invoice, because in the last review I wrote, a lady named Andrea T. said she is the owner and they have no record of an Alicia A. This company is very untrustworthy. When I was upset about the situation, Cary had his tech who was at my house talk to me about the payment. I refused to pay because it was priced higher than we agreed to in that initial meeting. Then did a "safety" checklist which purported to tell me all the electrical problems I had with my (6 year old) house in order to get me to sign up for a membership with the company. Had my main circuit breaker pop Sunday morning during Covid-19 pandemic. Electric City gets extremely high marks for responsiveness, punctuality, and professionalism in that I was able to contact a live person at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning impressed me. Then to have Carry and assistant show up within two hours was impressive. Next, his knowledge and professionalism became very apparent to me after watching him analyze my problem. The house is over 30 years old and it was clearly time to replace the breaker panel. Carry and his crew showed up promptly before 8:00 am the following morning and finished the job within six hours. I was again very pleased with the workmanship, the quality of materials used, and the promptness in completing the work. The only "negative" I have is that I found Electric City's pricing to be somewhat on the high side. I understand that they do excellent quality work and use premium materials, and one gets what one pays for. They did provide a five year warranty. But when I asked about replacing light switches in my house, I was told a ballpark of $75 per switch which is definitely on the outrageous side of the pricing spectrum - especially given that I have 49 switches inside my house. read more

Had Brendan Sasser and Carry Jurek come by my home yesterday to look at several outlets in my home that were not charging devices. Both came timely and were very professional and courteous in their demeanor. They looked at the outlets in question and then went to the circuit breaker in my home's garage. They also looked at the other outlets in my home and the smoke detectors. Gave me an in-depth, but easy to understand, diagnosis of what was wrong with the current circuit breaker setup and breakers in it and how that was causing the outages with the affected outlets. Also recommended I install a GFCI in my downstairs bathroom. Gave me good options and prices to get the problems corrected and went to work that same evening, finishing everything within 45 minutes. Also gave me the option to enroll in their Total Care Club, which I enrolled in, as it is a great package with many benefits, such as free smoke alarm battery replacement, priority scheduling, annual electrical inspections, waiver of dispatch fees, and loyalty discounts. I called Carry out to a house that I am building because I suspected that the electrician that was doing the work was not doing it correctly and I wanted to make sure that all the work was being done to code, I am not in the city limits so therefore there are no inspections. I asked Carry to check, and my God he knows his stuff, found 25 violations and a very messy job. I was shocked, I mean he found every error that this guy made and also gave me suggestions on things that I should make sure they install because it would make things easier in the future. if I had control over who to hire, I would have hired electric city, I felt that the electrical knowledge that they had was extensive and I was so thankful that he found all the errors, my builder fired the other electrician and went back with another electrician that he used for years. if I had any say Electric City would be my choice.
