I left it there for less than an hour came back and it was ready to go for just $70, I had no way of knowing if it actually needed the parts so they could've charged me the maximum but didn't. i give this a two stars only because the guy I spoke to was really nice. Everything else was pretty bad. Got my phone repaired after cracking the screen while in SF for business and he said he could fix my pixel 7 pro for around 200, which was great! Very affordable and was very fast to fix* the problem. *Well the problem is that when fixing the screen the fingerprint reader no longer works, the refresh rate is slower and the batter seems to be gathering more heat when charging. I called another specialist and they told me that with these phones repairing the screens requires OLED and the screen reader which normally comes with a fingerprint reader attached at the price of 480+. So it looks like this guy took a cheaper solution, which was great for my wallet, but put me in a situation that I am down 200 and also need to buy another phone. The other vendor said they could fix this, but recommended at this point to just buy another phone. It's just really frustrating and I wish he would have informed me before repairing my phone that it was possible that the fingerprint reader, refresh rate, etc could have been an issue. No refund was given and was told, that's just how it is. I have no malice towards this company, I'm sure the guy is a honest worker and often is successful in helping people, but again, in the future, if he reads this, information is important given the customer a choice on what steps to take. It's just frustrating because I loved the guys friendliness but I feel taken advantage of... and there is nothing I can do. read more

I brought my phone in with what I thought was a battery issue: phone was shutting off randomly, seemingly when the charge was almost out, and I was having difficulty turning it back on. Battery replaced, I went home. Phone shut off; couldn't turn it back on at all! Brought it back right away: real issue was diagnosed as a pinched cable between main circuit board and screen; it was given a new screen to go with the new battery, at a surprisingly low price. So although the battery wasn't really the main issue, it was pretty old anyway and wasn't holding much charge, so to have that replaced as well, both components for near the price of one, was great. Well, every single time I called no one could give me ANY info on my order status and every time I was told I'd get a call back, they NEVER called me back. They finished the repair in less than 2 hours. Super convenient! The repair tech who helped me out was super knowledgeable. I forgot to ask his name but it says "Henry" on the receipt so that might be it. I needed my screen fixed in order to transfer files / 2FA off of my phone that had just broken. (I wanted to buy a new one anyways but waited too long and this one broke.) I said I wanted a screen replacement if that fixed it but if not then if he could do something to get it working even for a minute so I could enable USB debugging and transfer everything off later. He understood exactly what I meant and seemed like he knew what he was talking about which was refreshing after going to a couple places in the Richmond district where I heard "We only do iPhone screens nothing else" and "We don't do software issues" (when it was obviously a hardware problem). I was worried that they wouldn't have the replacement screen as it was a 5 year old phone that wasn't the most popular in the US (Sony Xperia Z5 compact) but they did. (I might have got their last one.) My phone was showing distorted images on the screen. Sometimes you could kinda tell what was supposed to be there and sometimes it was just garbage. The glue around the screen was staring to fail so the screen would pop out a bit sometimes. At first I could push the screen down at a certain point and the image would fix itself but that stopped working. Some kind of pin connection must have been broken. The screen replacement fixed the issue. I don't know if it's because the loose pin connection was in the screen cable or if just having a properly glued down screen solved it. read more

Michael and Henry provide great customer service. Came in with a phone that wasn't reading the SIM card. They noticed right away that it might have been an issue with the expanding battery causing a loose wire connection to the SIM card tray. The battery was replaced and although I still had issues, Michael was willing to spend extra time to take it apart to inspect it again. The issue was finally resolved when I got a new SIM card from my phone carrier. These guys are just crooks. unscrupulous, unethical crooks. I had them replace the glass on my phone. When they gave it back to me they said that there was a 90 day warranty and it seemed to work fine. The next morning not even 12 hours later the screen was all blurry and looked like the lcd behind it wasnt right (which was replaced by them). when I called to ask about it they said they did not have another piece of glass in stock but that it didnt matter anyways because the warranty was not going to cover it. They made this determination without ever even looking at the phone. I asked how they could know that the warranty wasnt going to cover it without seeing the phone and they said that they just did. Please note that this review is motivated by my feeling that this business deceived me multiple times and did not bother to offer an appropriate resolution when things went awry. This review has nothing to do with the fact that my phone, ultimately, wasn't fixed. It is unfortunate, because I have no issue supporting smaller businesses like this one. The story: My iPhone 6 sustained water damage, which required a new screen and battery. I paid for the fix, and realized that the touch ID wasn't working. I took the phone back and paid additional money to get that fixed. A week later, I notice the screen was not properly installed so I went back to get that fixed. Two weeks later I noticed the battery life was extremely poor when suddenly the phone shut off, and I was unable to restart it. Frustrated, I took the phone back to the store and the technician ran some tests and eventually were able to restart my phone. However, they were unable to discern what the actual issue was - which I found concerning. Two weeks later, the same issue occurred. This time, the technician told me that my phone was beyond repair and the only "refund" they were willing to offer me was to sell me a used iPhone, and subtract all the fees I had already paid from the price of the phone, which I found incredibly unfair. And they were unwilling to budge, even on a partial refund. They pointed to the store policies, which I believe should only apply when the business does their job. What's most concerning is that this business accepts cash only, and I now realize why: you cannot dispute this business with your credit card provider. Moreover, their warranty is only 90 days. It's all set up in their favor, and not in the consumer's favor at all. Further, I took my phone to two separate stores to run a diagnostic and both stores informed me that Fix My Phone did not use genuine parts, and as a result, the parts failed and killed my iPhone. Again, I'm not mad that my phone wasn't fixed - I'm mad that this business deceived me and were unwilling to operate on fair business practices. For iPhone issues, I'd recommend sticking to Apple's Genius Bar. I appreciate that Apple is expensive, but you do not run the risk of being ripped off like I was. read more

Update: Mike says I cracked my screen...yes it did crack but not because of me. It was poor service when the screen was first replaced. It's not about money clearly. I can afford to have it fixed but the issue was that if it had been properly placed, this never would have happened. Oh well. I guess you get what you pay for. This was the most uncomfortable experience I've ever had an I worked in high end retail for years but this took the cake! I got my phone fixed here about a week and a half ago. I decided to go here because it was a lot cheaper than going straight to apple. (Mistake #1). So I go here and they fix my screen. My interaction with the guy at the front desk was great. He was kind and did his job. Once I got my phone back, I realized that the screen was a little slow compared to the original but I figured it was what it was since it wasn't an apple screen. I'd live with it. Flash forward to yesterday, Thursday. I'm at the park with my kids. Phone in back pocket. I bend over to pick up my kid and go to grab my phone and the screen has gone half green and black. I can still see stuff on the screen but it def needs replacing. Immediately I call "fix my iPhone" and talk to the guy at the store, he's nice and tells me to bring it right it. So I rush over and I'm happy. I have a good attitude and hope to get it fixed with no hassle. Once I get inside, story completely changes. The guy I spoke on the phone with looks at my phone and hands it's to the owner. This is where sh*t hits the fan. The owner, mike, looks at my phone and legit says "you dropped it, it's cracked, I'm not gonna replace it for free, listen, it's dropped". The entire time I'm telling him with pretty tears in my eyes because he is becoming so hostile at this point that I didn't drop it and that it has no drop marks because it's never been dropped. He then says let me show you something, grabs a pair of scissors and starts stabbing my phone to prove that it is indeed cracked. My face went blank. I look at my phone and half the entire screen is now black. Mike found a way to make an already shitty problem, worse. And when I said hey that's not good he said "well it's already broken. You need to replace it anyway". I was shocked. He the proceeded to yell at me to get out of his store. The best part was when I finally said okay I'll get it fixed, I told him I'd take the cheaper screen since it was all I could afford and he starts laughing at me. The most horrible experience I've ever had in retail. Will never be going back. Mike is a misogynistic man with no concern about his customers, only cares about make money. My Samsung Galaxy S4 wouldn't boot up. This was the second place I tried. Emailed Mike but wasn't getting a definite answer so I made my way to the store. I think it was Anthony that was there that day. Filled out a repair form with name, address, number, cellphone info, etc. No charge for diagnostic. Said come back in 30 minutes. Unfortunately, Anthony was racking his brain and couldn't figure it out. Think he called Mike but he didn't know either. They can do basic repairs like cracked screens, home button replacement, charge port replacement, audio jack replacement and etc. In defeat Anthony, gave back my phone and gave me the impression that my phone was a goner for good. Good thing I looked for a 3rd opinion! Found another repair place and surprisingly my phone got fixed. I would like to warn everyone that they do not give you new parts. I have a battery replaced that was completely awful. Upon opening it (at another store) we discovered that there was no apple logo on the battery. So I brought it back requesting a refund since I never authorized a refurbished battery. The owner was so upset at my "claim" that he yelled at me "I BUY THESE BATTERIES STRAIGHT FROM APPLE" yeah? Where's the logo. Why did another store tell me it was refurbished? Brought my phone to be fixed. They only take cash so while they guarantee the work, You have to save the receipt. They were able to fix my phone fast however after Using my phone, the touch screen was not working very well. On my way to bring the phone back, the phone dropped from my dashboard to the console and cracked again. When I arrive to bring the phone back, the gentleman was really defensive and would not let me talk. He did not question that the utility of the screen was not functioning properly and kept telling me he was not responsible for it. Sure, I understand that if the screen cracked again, I should be responsible for that however I brought my phone in to another place to be fixed and while they were more expensive, They use real iPhone parts. This company did not tell me that I had options and simply use a non-iPhone screen which is why the text screen was not working very well, the color was not as vibrant and the screen not as durable. I had a broken headphone adapter stuck in the headphone jack of my iPhone 6. Stuck. So stuck. Visit #1: "Hey guys, no one else can get it out - can you?" "Yeah, it's really stuck in there. Come by on a weekday when our main guy is here, maybe he can do something." In between: I do more research. Found that you can replace an assembly in the phone which includes headphone jack. Part costs $30 from extremely reputable online dealer, "Ifixit". I order it. Visit #2: "Hey man, can you replace a headphone jack assembly on an iPhone 6? I have the part in order, should arrive tomorrow." "Yeah, no problem. It'll be $55 labor." "Cool, I'll come back." Visit #3: "hey, I talked to a guy here yesterday who said he could replace my headphone jack assembly."(Snotty kid see's I have the part in hand) "We don't install other people's parts" "Ahhh.. This is from the most reputable parts store. Its still sealed in the packaging. The guy I talked to yesterday said it wouldn't be a problem" "(Attitude increasing) We don't install other people's parts, it's a liability issue." "Can I just talk to the guy who I saw yesterday? He was willing to help me." "He's not here. But still doesn't matter. We won't install that part if you didn't order it through us" At this point I go home. Open a bottle of champagne. Turn on the Democratic Presidential Debate and proceed to open up my phone and swap the damn thing myself by following instructions online. Works perfectly now. And I saved $55. F--k these crappy attitudes of elitist nerds. People come to these mom and pop shops because of the terrible service at Apple stores.
