He gave us a quote that seemed reasonable, so we signed and returned the agreement. He told us the job would take about four days. The first couple of days went well -- he showed up and got started -- but then things started to fall apart. Communication became extremely difficult. I texted him multiple times and only got replies like, "I gave you a great deal, you should be happy" or "I'm busy" or sometimes no response at all. It became almost impossible to get a clear answer about when he would return to finish the job. The batteries we purchased from him turned out to be defective. He tried to revive them many times, but couldn't make them work. I repeatedly asked him to replace the batteries or come up with another solution, but he stopped responding to calls, texts, and even Facebook messages. Occasionally, he would show up, do a little bit of work, and then disappear again. It's now been six months, and the job is still incomplete. The batteries I paid for are bad, and he hasn't refunded me or finished the installation. I kept trying to give him the benefit of the doubt -- maybe he was busy, maybe something came up -- but after months with no communication, it's clear he's ghosted us. Bottom line: Don't be fooled by his nice personality at the beginning. My experience was extremely frustrating and costly. I would not recommend hiring him.

A little late in finally getting around to post my review but man, what can I say...? Jake and his…read moreson from A Honu Wiring Service knocked it out of the park with their quality of work, technical knowledge/skill and their amazing customer service. I was referred to Jake through a plumbing company(DC Plumbing) since my project involved electrical troubleshooting on a domestic well water pump system. We had many phantom electrical issues over the years with this system but somehow it managed to operate without any catastrophic failure(knocking on wood) but something in the electrical connections just was not optimal or correct. It took several relay, fuse, capacitor and even an expensive pump replacement to get to the bottom of it but thanks to Jake, we were actually able to do that. Jake traced the main source from HECO and determined several connections that were not optimal(we were trying to run a single phase motor off of a 3 phase line which is possible to do off of two legs, but we were connected to the WRONG two legs), and that was what was causing irregularities in the current and voltage to our system, randomly frying various parts of the pump, including a brand new pressure switch which fried within 3 days, that ultimately caused the motor to burn out. A epic nightmare scenario for a well/pump system that serves 5 rental units on my property!! Yikes! Long story short, Jake cracked the mystery of our gremlin connections and even added in a properly rated contactor to handle the new load from the pump motor(we had a completely underrated 24v coil contactor to handle 240v) and the system has never run better and more importantly, more safely and efficiently than ever before. Mahalo Jake for all your help and expertise! You are truly a lifesaver and a heck of nice guy! You can bet you will be the first company I will refer to all my family and friends in need of any type of electrical work!
