We were very excited to visit Glittering Lights for the first time (Saturday), but we left just a…read morelittle disappointed. The experience started off on a frustrating note as we waited in line for a little over an hour. The system they use to funnel cars in really needs to be revised because it felt pretty chaotic. After sitting in line for about 35 minutes, an employee suddenly opened two additional lanes to the left of us. Cars raced past, and about 30 to 40 vehicles that had been behind us ended up well ahead of us. It was discouraging. Once we finally made it in, we were given five mini candy canes, pamphlets, and vouchers for our drinks. We ordered two hot chocolates and two apple ciders. The drinks came in collectible plastic cups, which was a nice touch, but they were not hot at all. They were barely lukewarm, which was disappointing, especially on a chilly night. After grabbing our drinks, we had to wait in another line to enter the lights. This line funneled five lanes down into one and also allowed Fast Pass holders to merge in and cut the line, adding another 30 to 35 minutes to our wait. While we waited, we listened to their HoHo Radio. In theory, it's a fun idea with Christmas music, movie trivia, and little holiday extras. It runs through YouTube on your phone, so every time you want to take pictures, the radio stops and has to be reloaded. After about 20 minutes of that, we switched to a music app so we could enjoy nonstop Christmas music. As for the lights, there were some creative and cute themes. But the crazy number of ad displays was completely overwhelming. Sponsor lights for plumbers, lawyers, restaurants, fast food chains, orthodontists, hospitals, a psychiatric clinic and more were mixed right in with the themed displays. The amount of ads felt excessive and really took away from the magic. I understand the need for sponsors, but the ads in the booklet they hand out to every car would have been more than enough. At the end of the ride there is a living nativity scene. It was interesting to say the least. Not at all what I was expecting, but I give them kudos for putting something together. Oh last thing... I have to give a huge shoutout to the staff members. They were all friendly, welcoming, and informative. Their great service was refreshing and honestly one of the highlights of the night. Overall, our party of five enjoyed the variety of lights along the three mile stretch, but the long waits, line issues, lukewarm drinks, and overwhelming amount of ads along the way really spoiled the experience for us. It's a magical experience, then you turn your head to see an ad sign for a Plumbing company. If they really want to include Ad lights, they should put all ads at the front or end of the ride, that way it doesn't take away from the magic. Tip: Make sure you have a full tank of gas, empty bladders for the kids, and some fun activities or games to entertain your group before you get in line. If you visit on a weekend, you are almost guaranteed to wait at least an hour.

Besides tacos they had carnival rides, margaritas, eating competitions, a chihuahua Beauty contest, a car show, craft venders, and more depending on the day and time you were there. We tried a bunch of tacos. They were all different. They were even different sizes. Most of the tacos were very good. Only from one place they were so over salted I couldn't eat them. Maybe one of the things they could have done better was to set up some standing tables around the place. They had an area of covered tables but depending on where you were it was a long walk. You also had to be careful where you walked because the ground is uneven in several places. Parking was close, free, and easy.

I came to Vegas back in September of 2021 for this festival and made some amazing memories throughout all of it. They made you either upload your vaccine information so you could just quickly be scanned inside, or you had to have a Covid test done at their specific facility. They also had an app that showed the food places, art exhibit, and band stage locations and times. It was really helpful to have that app on me the entire time. The music was fantastic. They had so many different bands and artists that covered different genres. Billie EIlish, Green Day, All Time Low, Illenium, A$AP Rocky, etc. They had stand up shows being done by Trevor Wallace and other comedians. This part was absolutely amazing. The food was some of the best food I've had. I didn't expect festival food to be that great, but they brought in some great food trucks, and local chefs/restaurants for this event. I wish I had eaten a lot more of it there, but the prices were fairly spendy. Overall, you have to try the food and drinks there. They had some grassy areas for you to sit and nap on too which we definitely took advantage of all that. Overall, Life is Beautiful is a great festival and I definitely recommend it.

You can enter and leave the venue whenever, so if you're tired during the day, walk back to your hotel, take a nap and come right back recharged ~ This isn't just a music festival, this event has many other attractions you can check out. They have mini shows that range from Cirque du Soleil, comedians, drag queens, podcast hosts and many more. There's a lot of unique artworks plaster around the whole downtown block and let's not forget the food ! Also the weather is perfect ! It's always on the last week of September, so it's not too hot or too cold, just right. If you're in Vegas, this is definitely one of the festivals to check out ~

LOL Started with an Asian flavor taco from Dragon Grille. That's it ....I just found my favorite food truck! Hands down it was the best darn taco and I will be hankerin for another till I find them out and about again! We all were completely impressed. The chickie in the front with the totally cute accent was helpful and such a sweetheart. Headed over to Sauced for the Big Easy Balls with Srirachi sauce. I had been told these are most awesome and I wanted to see for myself. Chicken and Rice formed into a ball and fried. Amazeballs! Talking about forgetting your diet for the night... The vibe is pretty chill, everyone standing around juggling their drinks and food.....BECAUSE there is nowhere to sit other than a gross street ledge which I refused to sit. They definitely need some chairs of some sort but they know what they are doing. I'm sure there is a reason for not having the chairs/table set up. I see people complaining in the reviews regarding the downtown parking prices and some of the hotel garages just need your ticket validated inside the hotel before you leave-free parking peeps. I still am not sure how they decide which Saturday they are going to do this event. I've been the day after First Friday and I've been in the middle of the month. Part of the reason this gets 5 stars from me is that I live at The Ogden, so I literally walk down stairs from my place and BAM! Food Truck heaven. plus I like the addition of the local vendors selling their hand crafted wares. I'm not gonna buy most of it because its just not my style, but I'm all about small local vendors getting their shot. There's always a few regulars and a few change-ups each month. You can almost always count on Slidin Thru and Grouchy John's but the rest vary from month to month. And it's always a good mix of people in attendance. It's an all ages event so it usually draws that same crowd you see at First Friday, & it's FREE to get in so if you are in the area there is definitely no good reason to not check it out. My one main complaint is that there's around 4 or 5 tables total for the event. Therefore, there is always that awkward time after buying the food of walking around trying to find some place to post up and eat. For an event with as many attendees as this tends to get, and as much extra room as they have in the parking lot, whoever is in charge needs to get on this. It's a tiny little omission that would make a huge difference in the quality of the event.

Tickets were $15.00 this year but you could purchase tickets early and pay $13.00 a person. This got you in but other purchases are separate. Besides tacos this also is a Dia De Muertos Festival and other activities. Parking was free and close. As you enter there are LOTS of venders selling all kinds of things. Then you see all large section of Day of the Dead displays. Then you finally get to most of the food venders. A little further is a stage with blaring loud Mexican Music and nearby are covered seating areas and more venders and porta potties. Th is billed as the largest taco festival in the country. I didn't count the actual amount of different taco venders but it seemed like a lot less than other taco festivals I've attended. A lot of the food venders weren't even selling tacos. Also for some odd reason you can't do any research on the taco venders. A list of the venders doesn't appear anywhere so you have to pick what you try blindly. By FAR the very best tacos we tried came from Mr Papas. But we had to wait terribly long for them in the sunny sun. It was only 80 degrees but if felt like 100 since it was sunny. There were only a few people in front of us but it seemed like it all took forever. This spoiled it for us because after we tried their amazing tacos that were so mighty flavorful everyone else's sucked. I'll be on the look out for Mr Papas tacos but might be passing on future taco festivals. I like the Dia De Muertos Displays and it's nice that they have so many merchandise venders. I don't like that they don't publish a list of venders. Our local newspaper and local TV should do stories on the taco festival. They sure don't do enough. I find it strange.

We bought our tickets online fairly in advance because we wanted to make sure we got a time that worked for everyone before it sold out. It took a couple days as their web page was a little glitchy, but finally succeeded. When you enter they have a handicapped entrance that bypasses the main line, and then a stroller line, and general lines for everyone else. Throughout the park they have drink stands, some have hot coco, some are more alcoholic drinks. The main area you will find food (which I totally missed the first time I went) is located up the ramp near the entrance where they had a play space for kids and story time. It is filled with food options, toys, and other cool things to buy. I recommend the bubble toys they sell close to the entrance, my son lost his mind with joy over it, as did every kid I saw with one. Upstairs they also had Santa's house. I will say its a bit of a bait and switch. There was a dude saying oh there's no like for Santa, and pictures with him come with your tickets. I was like wow that's a great deal if that's true. However had sneaking suspicion to get the pictures digital or otherwise would be an extra cost...and it was lol it was like 50 I think for 2 and 70 for 4. If you try to share the pics through the link they give they will charge you even more. I wouldn't have gotten them personally since I didn't really prepare the way I looked to invest in pictures that night, but my fiancé really wanted them. I will say the Santa was excellent. My son was not scared of him at all, and he looked like a very European Santa which I thought was cool. The lower area is a giant maze and they give you a scratch game for when you find the scavenger hunt items. This year it was different nut crackers. Within the maze are also spots for cute photo opportunities like sculptures you can sit in, pianos kids can run on, a giant light up floor for kids to dance on etc. Outside of the maze on the main floor they also have a giant slide, but its only for single riders, and they have to be three years old or older. The ice rink also looks tempting, but with that much volume on the ice its pretty scratched up. I feel more coordinated on smoother ice. I think the experience overall is really lovely and reasonable for 35 dollars with all the work they put into it. I am not sure of the cost for the extra activities though. I am sure it could add up if you have a lot of kids, so many like a discount for buying over 4 tickets would not hurt. I think its worth it to check out at least once to get into the festive spirit.

Along the way you can stay warm with hot cocoa, and hot apple cider. They can spike the drinks for the adults to stay extra warm. On top when you exit they have a bunch of cute shops. We stopped in at got a caricature done. It sealed a perfect christmas night in a funny way. Enchant sincerely goes out of there way to make this light show epic for the holidays season. Then as soon as we got wrist band we had to stand in another line to wait to get in. Then we had to stand in yet ANOTHER line to get our VIP food tickets. Also on the way to stand in the Food Ticket line there were countless trip hazards. (the most I have ever seen anywhere!) THE PROBLEM WITH VIP IS THAT IT LIMITS YOU TO ONLY CERTAIN VENDERS. YOU ALSO NEED A CELL PHONE to bring up a map of the event and it also lets you know what VIP Venders that you can try. You also need to GRAB A SEAT FAST because covered seating is very limited and fills up FAST. Then I hope you are OK with LOUD Music. The music they play is uncomfortably LOUD. Another problem with VIP is that YOU DON'T GET YOUR MONEYS WORTH. After three plates I was full and didn't want anymore food. We just wanted to leave. That said and ANYWAYS - The food I tried was good. I wish plates were smaller so I could have stomach room to try more things. I think what I enjoyed most was that my husband figured out the locations of certain food trucks and brought back the foods to our seats. Anyway Hunnie Bunnie and I went in the fun house and she rode some cars and then did a jumpy house that didn't take tickets, it was $5 but you could jump for as long as you wanted. I only attended on Saturday, where the main event was the Miss Songkran pageant, and some Muay Thai boxing exhibitions/fights. It was a very enjoyable afternoon, and I hope this event grows to similar proportions to the one in Los Angeles' Thai Town. One of these years I will make it to Thailand for Songkran and enjoy the water fights!!
