There was rain…read moreexpected in Vegas for Friday, and so I wanted to at least visit in the early afternoon before the weather arrived in the city! I also stopped by as soon as it opened on Sunday. This year, the Renaissance festival returned to Sunset park for it's 31st annual celebration from October 10-12. The park turns into a medieval fairground! The fairground has guilds, combat in jousting arena, artisans crafting, and selling works from wood, leather, metal and more. There are also stages alive with music, comedy, dance and storytelling. It's such a immersive experience. On both days, I didn't have to wait long to get through security, only a few minutes. The first vendor I saw was selling Welsh cakes! They looked scrumptious! The food at the renaissance festival is awesome. Turkey legs are available with medieval style dishes, and drink offerings like mead, ales and more! If you're interested blacksmithing, there are interactive demos scattered throughout the fairground. You can even see some sword fighting too! Some of the other attractions include the following Axe Throwing Inflatable Games Royal Scavenger Hunt Adventures The Fenians Professor Slaywood, the Magic of Will and more! Logistics can be really difficult though. There is limited parking at the Sunset park. Nearby businesses may tow your vehicle depending on where you park. I'd recommend coming to the Renaissance festival as early as you can so you can get a parking spot within the park. I think there were some shuttles to overflow parking areas though. The festival opens at 10:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M on Friday and Saturday. Sunday is open from 10:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. You can get camping packages to camp on site! You can pitch your own tent! Though, you'll need to buy a separate camping package online! I had a lot of fun! I didn't get a chance to go last year, so I am glad I was able to visit this year! It did get cancelled Friday evening due to all of the rain.

As you walk through the festival many tents are present for you to view that in which life appeared in the days of yore. The costumes are amazing. Most individuals that attend dress for the times. Many different sorts of animals are on display for you to see. The music is live and while it may not be something present in older times because of the use of modern technology it still takes you back to a more basic form of art. Let the sound's penetrate your psyche. Let your guard down and your mind wander as you step back in time . In the moment and stepping back in time this festival is smaller considering of fairs we have attended. It is held at Sunset Park each year. It's best to purchase tickets on line but you can buy them at the event too. The parking provided is a problem because each year it's gets more and more crowded. You will be walking a whole bunch so dress for the occasion. You are able to bring water and other small snacks to the event. You will want to sample the food and drink at the fair. The smells will definitely tantalize your senses and make your taste buds go crazy. As the day turns into the evening you'll be able to see the cannons fire over the pond . Dance your cares away. Get into the moment with amazing food and drinks. Seize the day whenever possible for life is too precious and short. Get the family and friends together and enjoy and share some love and new memories together.

My friend & I arrived last & the rest of the group was inside checking in so we were able to run inside to join them. The girl outside was super cool & let us store some stuff outside that we couldn't take in with us. We had taken an Uber there so we didn't have a car to put it in. We were celebrating a friend's bday so it was a gift for her. Check in process seemed quick. We had to sign waivers inside. I have NO clue what I was signing as they were long waviers & it was dark & the print was small. I couldn't see it. We were then directed thru the doors to start our walk down the hallway to the doctor's office to watch a short video giving you the rules of the ride. Of course as a Yelper & a person who loves to take pictures for the memories I had asked the female doctor if I could take pictures. She told me I was only allowed to take them in that room. Good thing I asked. 5 of my friend's jumped on one golf cart then the rest of us (4) jumped on the next golf cart. We were told by this big, scary lady that we were not allowed to take any pictures & our masks had to stay covering our mouth & nose. If they saw any flashes or our masks off our face we would be removed immediately. She wasn't very nice about it but I'm guessing that was part of her character & she was role playing??? The inside was all decorated & a little dark inside. The driver went slow. My friend & I sat in the back of the golf cart so we couldn't see what was in front of us. Some characters would sneak around & jump out at us. Some of the people looked like fake dummies but then they moved. YIKES!!!! I did get a few good screams but what scared me the most was the guy with the chainsaw!!!!!!!! He was running it right by my feet. I hate the sound of that along with the smell of gasoline it makes me think its real when I know it can't really chop any of my body parts off...right???.....lol The characters don't touch you @ all & your not allowed to touch them. They do get close upto you. One girl was even whispering in my friend's ear about how she wanted to kill me & cut me up. So definitely not a lot of 6ft social distancing here. So if this is something that is going to bother you then this event is not for you. The golf cart ride itself was apx. 15minutes long & the ride is the fun/scary part of the whole adventure. We had to walk a short distance out into the gift shop area @ the end. They had some t-shirts & sweatshirts for sale. Was kinda hard to see exactly what they were selling as it was dark inside & the items were dark colored. There was a counter that sold soda & water inside along with a wall area that had props that you could take pictures in front of. Once you went outside there was another stand that sold alcohol & some snacks. None of us bought anything. There was also some tall hightop tables that you could hang out at. Bathrooms were port-a-potties outside in the parking lot closes to the end of the ride. My friend used them so not sure how clean they were but if you have to go to the bathroom in the beginning better do it before you get inside as I don't believe there are any bathrooms in there that you can use. My friend's & I have been to Fright Dome in the past & when we went there we had bought GA tickets & saw shorter lines for VIP so that's why we decided to buy VIP tickets for this to hopefully avoid a long wait, which we did. We went on a Saturday night, 10/17/2020 @ 9:30pm. I believe it was about $45 for a VIP ticket. Due to the short duration of the ride I don't feel that price is fair. They sure are banking some money there. There had to @ least be 100+ people in the GA line. With COVID this year & no more Bonnie Springs, no Fright Dome & not much to do for Halloween we wanted to try this place out. I gave 3 stars only due to the high price & the short ride. Other then that props were awesome & I did have a few scares.

It wasn't hard to find if you know Vegas or you know just use GPS. Parking can get a tab bit confusing if you aren't going through a gate with a guy guiding you, you are not parking in the right space and the security guard informed us if you park other places you could be towed. First and for most you have to reserve a time slot on the website and you can not be LATE which it states in the nicely written procedures and instructions or you will be rescheduled which you aren't guaranteed same night. Once you arrive you park and walk down the street and they will direct you to general Admission or VIP which either way honestly you pay more for VIP but you stand about the same time once you get to general admission they won't even let you in the line without putting your mask on all the way above your nose and then you stand there for about 10 minutes it's not very long you get up to the front you sign a waiver and then they direct you to stand at the door by the group you came with. You and your whole group have to stand on the same X six feet apart from the groups around you. Second once you get inside they check your tickets and I.D.s and direct you to the next door while you wait 6 feet apart to get into the golf cart b it don't worry they fully entertain you while waiting about 6 mins Two groups 6 feet apart stand in a room you watch a video and then get onto the golf cart. The golf cart itself goes like 2 miles and hour and the actor's all have mask on but get very close to you on a golf cart. The props are frighdomes props just press around. The ride is about 15 mins with about the same concept/themes of Fright Dome.

Growing up in Las Vegas, it has been amazing watching Ghost Adventures shine a spotlight on this city and introduce people around the world to the incredible history, stories, and fascinating individuals connected to the paranormal. Vegas is so much more than the Strip, and places like this really showcase the mysterious and extraordinary side of the city. Walking into the Haunted Museum, the excitement immediately took over--but once I was inside, I was genuinely blown away. Seeing so many incredible and infamous artifacts up close was surreal, especially knowing the stories and history behind them. There is so much to take in, and you can truly feel the atmosphere as you walk through the different rooms. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the staff! Everyone I encountered was welcoming, friendly, and made the experience even better. After exploring the museum, I had to stop by the gift shop, where I picked up some of their awesome rosaries. They make such a cool keepsake from the experience. For a longtime fan, this was definitely a bucket-list experience. Whether you've been following the show for years or you're simply fascinated by the paranormal, history, and the unexplained, I absolutely recommend visiting Zak Bagans' Haunted Museum when you're in Las Vegas. A must-visit for any paranormal fan! Las Vegas wouldn't be the same without the fascinating stories and experiences that make it so unique.

Like thirty minutes of being held hostage is a real horror. Also, the selfies that you can take with the ring light cost $12 lol. They try to convince you to buy a Polaroid camera that can take up to 10 photos and that's also scammy. They take a dollar from you when they ask you if you would be willing to be tribute in one of the first rooms for a fortune reading. For the price that this is I think it is pretty insane at how much of a money grab they continued to be There is a ton of stuff to look at and sometimes I wish there was a little bit more time without the tour guide. But the tour is super long as it is and everyone that ended up buying the VIP said that it was not worth it. If you are sensitive to smell, I will have to warn you that the rooms are heavily perfumed. We didn't do the maze because apparently the clown was on lunch break. They should've given some of our money back because we didn't get the full experience. All in all, thé capitalize on spirits and glorify serial killers. Kinda weird. I am glad I did it once but will not be coming back. Candy man, the security guard was awesome though.

I couldn't see any main entrance or check in stand among the many tents that were set up so it was a bit unorganized and confusing in the beginning so I circled around the entire event until I came upon a tent that didn't seem to be serving any beer and inquired. That's where I checked in and it appears to be sponsored by Wellsfargo bank. The staffs were friendly enough but again did not explain to me any details or how it works so I put my little souvenir cups with the wristband (which appears to be a decor ribbon) inside in my car and proceeded to the first tent. At the first tent I looked at their beverages and asked for a sample and the staff asked me where's my wristband and cup? I said oh! I left it in my car since I didn't know that was my wristband and cup lol So I went back to my car and got them. Another walk, another wasted time but this is where the fun begins... From there it was drinks after drinks after drinks being poured into my 1 mini glasses. Everyone were friendly and eager to pour you a sample so pick and choose carefully otherwise you'll get tipsy really fast! There were no food provided except at the food truck that cost and a cookie stand that also cost. I did see several people walking around with their pretzel necklace including a cute dog wearing one Some of my top beers, hard cider, Lager, Ale or Pilsner were the mango flavored hard cider from Blake's, The pink poison from Nasty Beast. Oh you also get 2-3 plastic coins that you can drop in the vendors container for your picks and the vendors with the most coins wins the votes. How exciting right?? That contest made it more fun! I made friends with strangers and I had my dog, Peanut with me whom friendly strangers asked to pet. There were games to play also, including bean bags toss, the hammer game, ring toss game (cost but proceeds goes to charity) There were so many awesome beer and vendors to name but Lovelady Brewing co, Blake's, Nasty Beast, North 5th Brewing Co, Lazy Dogs, the Original Club Tails, 21Rocs, RoseAde, Silver Reef Brewing co, Nutrl, among many others. It was so much fun!! So much to do and see and sample! I was slurp slurping away and getting tipsy as I go lol. Oh there are a dump and rinse stations set up randomly so you can pour out your beer and rinse out the extras which was really helpful. I can't wait to attend their event next year. Drinks, sunshine, and entertainment....what more can one ask for? :) Unlimited tastings for four hours is a great deal for this event and such a fun way to try new drinks. Also a dangerous way to get tipsy if you don't pace yourself and hydrate along the way! LOL There were water stations to rinse your tasting cup, but not water stations to drink from so I recommend bring your own water to stay hydrated at this event. In addition to beer, the event also had a lot of seltzer/canned alcohol drinks. There were even a few vodka cocktails in a can to try. There were so many awesome alcoholic drinks and vendors and the offerings exceeded my expectations. Every tent was excited to pour you a sample (or a sample of everything they had) and the energy was great and for a great cause. Everyone we encountered vendor wise/volunteer at this event was super friendly and made the event such a chill atmosphere. Some even had some cute swag to hand out like the lemonade seltzer tattoos. The main entrance or check in stand was a little bit unorganized/there was not a clear sign and there was a bit of a wait, but it is a volunteer charity event so it was to be expected. I loved how they had a few large screens up to watch the games on as well as some games to play. Seating was limited/practically non-existent but you are moving around so much that you don't even notice it. But if you care about that, I recommend bringing your own chairs or a blanket to sit on. For the price of this event and how much fun it was I definitely want to come back again :) Tell your friends everyone... this is an event you don't want to miss!

They usually have it in the middle of the summer and it is way too hot so I just never went. This year- it landed on 4/20 of all days! It was absolutly perfect! I had such a great time! The bands were awesome. People were nice. The weather was great. I stayed all day. Ate good food and shopped around a little bit. It was such a great time- the vibes were on point for sure! As long as they have it around this time going forward- I will never miss it!

We have gone every years for years. We paid with services and fees 178.00 for 2 tickets to watch…read morereggae. Not death metal. doesn't matter if they have a reggae part of their song it's a death metal bands they should not have been at that concert. We come for chill vibes and authentic reggae music which is already hard to come by in Vegas. Take the concert back to the roots. Keep the death metal out. Only a two star cause I love the vendors and support them. Also food was good lines were nit to bad.

My son and I got up early, parked at the hospital, ran some miles in the neighborhood and got back in time to watch the balloons start to launch around 7:15am. At first I thought there would only be 3 or 4 because there weren't that many getting set up, but then it turned out to be at least 9 or 10. There were also three balloons in the sky that launched from another location. So, it's not a huge festival, but it's free and definitely a cool thing to see up close. I'm glad that we got to go and we even ran into Teri C. and her family there. A perfect way to start a beautiful October morning in Las Vegas. You should definitely go next year; we will be back. Up, up, and away!

My mom even crewed for several of the balloon teams through out the years growing up. They took off from our backyard where we got to help with all of it, "earning" our rides. Thank you to Yelp for bringing this event to my attention! I couldn't get up for the launches, dang it I like sleeping but we did make it down for the Glow on Saturday night. I was so excited to show the BF a piece of my childhood! It was an awesome to reminisce and though this was a far stretch of what the Balloon Classic is, only five balloons at the Glow tonight, it is enough to satisfy an old memory. The Glow is where the hot air balloons inflate and tether, stay to the ground, and hit their propane fueled guns to light up the balloons. They do waves and random light ups and popcorn, where they do short bursts. It's a cool thing to see and a great picture shots! Now imagine more of them! That's how the Balloon Classic is. I think now I'll try to make my way to Albuquerque next year to experience it! Thanks again Yelp! Another reason you're fantastic!

If you leave after 7 pm, expect at least 2 hours to get to the venue - Use the restrooms and fill water before your first set - Plan your schedule in advance with the Insomniac app - It's two weekends next year!

First booth on the right Beer and Shots! Haaaaay! $4 Jager shots and not sure about the beer but who cares after the $4 shots. At this point total score-I knew this night was gonna be good. How could it get any better? Walking around, there are so many trucks I haven't tried and want to but you only have so much room in your belly. LOL Started with an Asian flavor taco from Dragon Grille. That's it ....I just found my favorite food truck! Hands down it was the best darn taco and I will be hankerin for another till I find them out and about again! We all were completely impressed. The chickie in the front with the totally cute accent was helpful and such a sweetheart. Headed over to Sauced for the Big Easy Balls with Srirachi sauce. I had been told these are most awesome and I wanted to see for myself. Chicken and Rice formed into a ball and fried. Amazeballs! Talking about forgetting your diet for the night... The vibe is pretty chill, everyone standing around juggling their drinks and food.....BECAUSE there is nowhere to sit other than a gross street ledge which I refused to sit. They definitely need some chairs of some sort but they know what they are doing. I'm sure there is a reason for not having the chairs/table set up. I see people complaining in the reviews regarding the downtown parking prices and some of the hotel garages just need your ticket validated inside the hotel before you leave-free parking peeps. Its not a secret or maybe it is. Anyways, what is better than cheap eats, flowin drinks, music and art? The whole night as usual with StrEATS was a success! =)

A…read morefestival that started out very unorganized and haphazard has become a regular fixture on my monthly calendar. I still am not sure how they decide which Saturday they are going to do this event. I've been the day after First Friday and I've been in the middle of the month. Part of the reason this gets 5 stars from me is that I live at The Ogden, so I literally walk down stairs from my place and BAM! Food Truck heaven. plus I like the addition of the local vendors selling their hand crafted wares. I'm not gonna buy most of it because its just not my style, but I'm all about small local vendors getting their shot. There's always a few regulars and a few change-ups each month. You can almost always count on Slidin Thru and Grouchy John's but the rest vary from month to month. And it's always a good mix of people in attendance. It's an all ages event so it usually draws that same crowd you see at First Friday, & it's FREE to get in so if you are in the area there is definitely no good reason to not check it out. My one main complaint is that there's around 4 or 5 tables total for the event. Therefore, there is always that awkward time after buying the food of walking around trying to find some place to post up and eat. For an event with as many attendees as this tends to get, and as much extra room as they have in the parking lot, whoever is in charge needs to get on this. It's a tiny little omission that would make a huge difference in the quality of the event.
