I'd been wanting a tattoo for a while and had done my research around town. Electric Hand came recommended from a friend as well who'd had substantial work done by them a few months back. You can contact each artist through the website to see availability and talk ahead of time about your piece. I walked in on Thursday around 5:30 and was able to be paired with Teddy to get both done in one visit. He talked about what I wanted, he grabbed photos and had me sign off on the design. He made sure I was chill since it was my first time getting a tattoo. We checked placement again to ensure it was what I wanted where I wanted them and then he got to work. I am so pleased with both as the date of getting them was significant to me. I am most pleased with my experience, their place and Teddy. Beware--if you bring them something outside their skillset they won't be honest with you, or honest with themselves. Travis is a nice guy and does good traditional work but when it came to touching up my shoulder piece--a tattoo I've had for over ten years, a tattoo that means a lot to me--he butchered it. Absolutely butchered it. I had to get it fixed at Adventure Tattoo. So be careful, living with bad ink is a nightmare. read more

Sheri is amazing, she had done one full arm sleeve, my sternum, thigh and working on a leg sleeve for me. She is an amazing artist on any kind of canvas. She has been tattooing for 30+ years (if I remember correctly) all over the country. Every time I go out with exposed tattoos I get asked where I got them. She knows what she is doing and if you give her some artistic freedom she will create something you will love for a life time. Everyone else is really nice and has great portfolios. My boyfriend has tattoos by Jason and I freaking love that guy!! He works in the station right next to Sheri so I've spent a lot of time talking to him. He is very fun and I love his tattoo style. I'm a following customer of Jason's BUT I've seen plenty of other stuff done by the other dudes and there's not a one that I would steer anyone away from.. Just like any place it is easier to go into a tattoo parlor with idea in hand because a lot of times the artists don't know you and can't really read your mind when you just kind of halfway explain what you want BUT just like any a**hole customer I do this all the time ( come in with barely an idea ) and they manage to get my idea out on a piece of paper. Anyways, Every single artist in the WORLD has their own style and I think this place has very evenly dispersed talent in certain areas... One is better at portraits than one is at comic book style like one is best at sailer jerry type crap. Just look at their portfolios they've got set up and even just ask one of them who would be the best at something in particular...... they are all pretty good friends and aren't in the 'every man for himself' type of work environment so they'll truthfully steer you to who you need to see. And about pricing.. Remember.. You're getting something thats going to be there FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE... and even a transmission that costs $3000 to fix doesn't last that long so quit being so cheap! read more

Superlative work at reasonable prices! My experience is limited to Tu Le and Tai Orten, but both are top-notch artists. I had a particular design in mind, but lack the artistic ability to put it to paper. I went to Tai and described what I wanted, and she drew out and applied exactly what I wanted. I absolutely loved this place for my first tattoo! Warm, professional, down-to-earth -- opposite of the intimidating, aloof vibes I've gotten at other shops. I worked with Maddie, and she was wonderful, patient, and gentle. Her design of a sketch made by my father was so true to the original, it was perfect. Sticker/stencil of the design let me try different sizes and placements before deciding for sure. I was quoted at $100 lower than other shops in Nashville. Most importantly, since it was my first tattoo I wasn't sure what to make of the pain and the last shop I went to convinced me it wouldn't be a great idea to start with the ribcage, even though that was where I wanted it. This probably won't happen to everyone but it happened to me. I started a major project at Electric Hand and everything was great at first. But then around half the times my artist would not show up for appointments without any notice, not seeming to care I had taken time off work. The other half of the time I could tell very little effort had gone into the artwork. My ideas were only vaguely incorporated and the artist refused to show me the designs before the scheduled sessions. I felt very uninvolved in the process. Eventually the artist stopped responding altogether. No one from the shop contacted me for rescheduling. After repeated, increasingly frenetic but unanswered messages, Electric Hand banned me from the shop for "weirding them out". I now have a piece 60% complete and no way to match it because the artist refused to give me the templates used. I give two stars because the actual work was very good. However, for customer service, reliability and satisfaction, EH gets the most negative stars allowed by Yelp. read more
