This company is pathetic. I have used them occasionally with success, but no matter what, they seem to regress. For example we use a station 1/2 mile away. They were older chargers, but occasionally fast charged (but NEVER the 350 KW advertised). One month ago they replaced all 3 chargers with new "state-of-the-art" chargers. It took them a month. One of the three has been out of commission continuously, and the remaining 2 are much slower than the old ones. Plus somehow all the informative data notices from before are no more. Of course the station is not maintained, now with ice caked all around making it dangerous for my 75 year old self; I pulled a hamstring last time there. Surprise . . it snows in New England! Of course Hyundai is complicit with their 2 years of free "fast charging". That's a lie. You get 30 minutes free charging; so now the first 30 minutes are very slow, and I don't think it's a coincidence. Then $.56/KW. What a racket! Should not be a surprise from the company that cheated on its mileage efficiency (VW). I noticed that Hyundai has now cancelled their free charging deal with EA, and offers free home chargers. read more

Lying, thieving abusers of electrical purveyance! We plugged in the car at a store and it started charging with 9% battery. We went into the store and came out with plenty of time to spare. Except that the charging had stopped at 13% after about a minute and a half, and they were now stealing money from me for "taking up space at the charger"... are you kidding me??! I complained and they said WE requested the charging stop so they weren't refunding the "sitting" fees. Why in the world would I start charging at 9% and stop at 13%??! Liars. I see the other one-star reviews and I know this "company" needs to go out of business. This travesty was begun using government mandated funding to rectify a cheating scandal. I am beyond frustrated with Electrify America. This is not a one-time issue. Every time I use this station, the app fails and I have to call customer service to remotely start the charger. When you're traveling with family and relying on your EV to get home, that's unacceptable. Today I arrived with limited range remaining and over 100 miles still to drive. Instead of plugging in and charging, I had to go through the same routine of contacting support because the app would not work. The charger eventually started, but customers should not have to call customer service every time they need to charge. EV charging infrastructure is supposed to be reliable. If a station repeatedly requires remote intervention to function, it is not reliable. Electrify America needs to fix the app, fix the station, or both. The electrify America station here in Houston Texas on Yale Street is broken at least half the time either completely or partially. It is now been down for over 10 days and when calling to find out when it would be up and running, I was told we have no idea. Many of the car companies have arrangements with electrify America and provide free charging as part of the purchase arrangement. If we can't charge at the station, we should be reimbursed. Their app cancelled my charge twice causing me to have to return from the store 10 min walk away. After the first one, I walked back and talked to an agent who gave me 100% guarantee it wouldn't happen again. It happened again, but this time with a cart half full in the store and the agent told me I had to go back and unplug or be charged idle fees. I went back after shopping and they refused to give me a refund of the idle fees of $8. I never had this issue with paying with a card, this is the fault of the app. read more

I received an email on 9/16/2024 notifying me of the violation of my Premium Plan. This came as a surprise, as I was unaware of the requirement to wait an hour between two consecutive free 30-minute charging sessions. I understood I could receive every 30-minute session free, so I followed a routine of plugging and unplugging between two continuous charges. Electrify America terminated my premium plan immediately without giving any warning emails. Even though they knew my account and I plugged in the charge station, they didn't even give me warnings or notifications to let me wait for another hour instead. I have a 2024 i5 BMW and I tried to charge my car for the first time which is supposed to be free for the first 30 minutes for two years but they charged my credit card anyway. The issue I have is that I have two vehicles under the "free 2 year program" one that is a VW and one that is a BMW. They will not look into the matter at all. Doesn't seem right. My wife and I started using the EA charging stations in 2023 after we got our first EV, an Audi e-tron, with two years of "free" charging. While the charging hasn't cost us money, it's costing us an arm and a leg in wasted time. Typical waiting time for an available charging station has been at least 30-50 min. The handful of charging stations that I use typically have 25% to 50% of their chargers out of service. That's pretty significant when most of those stations only have 4 to 6 chargers. As you might have guessed, we're really not enjoying the EV charging experience so far. We will be considering a Tesla after our lease is up if Audi and other EV manufacturers can't figure out how to facilitate or provide more reliable, readily accessible charging to their customers. read more

I charged my car eight times in one week, and $400 of my money is on hold, and nobody gives me a reasonable answer. Electrify America only has 4 to 6 stations at each location ! It's rare that all the stations are working. For instance, Walmart in Henderson for stations one is out of order. The sky point station at target six stations two of the stations aren't working. It's been a week now that's the one by my house.. 4 to 6 stations does not accommodate the amount of vehicles that are EV. You can wait up too, but not less than two hours or more to charge up your car because there's other people in front of you yet there's only six maybe four stations guaranteed one to three of them are not working. I am an Uber driver and this is not working out for me so I will be going back to a gas vehicle. Driving an electric vehicle for Uber has saved money charging up, but I lose money because I'm sitting at a charging station for at least three damn hours it's not working and y'all need to either hire more repair people to fix these things on a daily basis or you need to ask some more damn stations which I vote. We found ourselves forced to use an alternative to an EV Go charging station in Boca Raton due to the prefered station being broken in the same location. The only alternative therefor was the Electrify America charging station which was up and running ready to charge at a price gauging 0.56 per KWh. This is way more expensive than any of the FPL or EV Go stations, in fact the most expensive I have ever encountered. Wow !100% more. My advice, plan ahead and avoid these charging stations at all costs!! read more

As far as customer satisfaction is concerned, Electrify has no concern. One phone call is all it takes to see that. They describe themselves as leaders. It's more like a con artist. When the app does not work, they instruct you to swipe your card, where they put a $50 hold on your card. It is deceptive and unethical because the company is not providing accurate information to its customers, which is a violation of the law. Furthermore, it is unfair and unethical for the company to take advantage of its customers by charging them for a $50 hold that will never cost that amount. read more

Stations are always open and have several spots for different parking needs based on outlet in your vehicle. Will find a station down once in a while but find plenty open. The chargers state 150kw but it is getting 150kw is based on other vehicles plugged in so don't be surprised you don't get 150kw. Still produces a fast charge and use it while shopping. I have been using EA for about a year now and I only use them when im traveling out of town which is 4 days out of the month. I just discover that they have been over charging me. They hold $40 when you start the charger but both of my cars only use about $20 a charge and EA has been keeping the change. I checked my past statements and have not seen any money put back on my card so I called EA support who says they have been giving change and I should call my bank. I called my bank who says they never have given any money back and that the $40 was a purchase charge not a hold. I had to dispute each and every charge for a year and had to send in all the documentation and receipts to my bank in order to get my change back which is now about $800... read more

I have owned an EV for almost 5 yrs., Electrify America was great when I first got my vehicle but has gone completely downhill; I would give them negative starts if I could: *Number of chargers between Eugene and Tigard, Oregon is insufficient. There has not been new stations added for the increasing number of EVs. *Chargers are out of service. (1/4) charger at the Walmart station in Albany, has been powered off for at least 4 weeks. Card reader at (2/4) chargers didn't work. That leaves (1/4) to serve the customers in Albany and drivers on I5. *Charging session ends after 5 minutes due to charging error. *Very low charging speed even at 9 pm when there were (2/8) active charging sessions at the Walmart station in Tigard. I have called customer service, after they reboot the charger it is still unusable. That has been the situation for months. There's no improvement. I have a charger at home but have to stop along the way due to the battery range. This is very frustrating and is making me wonder if I need to go back to a gas powered vehicle. Electrify America is sabotaging the Government initiative. They are not investing at least in this area. How are they using the Government subsidies? read more
