I was helped right away and was told of a great option for a TV that was great but wouldn't break the bank. It was a TCL 55 inch 4K. I have had one in the past and they are very reliable. This was a upgrade model that always for dark scenes to be seen better. I thought that was great! I bought a TV from the Cookeville Electronic Express on September 21, 2019.  I had to wait until September 26, 2019 to pick up while it was ordered.  I arrived after 6:00 pm CST to the store on the 26th. It was dragged from the back by one of the representative at this location, the box looked like it had a beating done to it.  They helped me put in my car and I took it home but did not open until the next afternoon since it was late in the day.  I opened the box and before placing on the wall I did an inventory.  It was missing instructions, cables and the remote.  I immediately went to the Electronic Express to tell them of the missing items.  I asked if they were trying to pawn off a USED TV since the box looked like it was opened and of course all the essential components were not in the box.  I was informed that it was NEW from the distributor.  Highly unlikely!!!  They apologized but informed me that I would have to wait until the following Thursday to get a replacement but I could upgrade to a different TV that was comparable to what I was get but would cost me another $300.00 (really) !!!!  So is this a ploy to make more money on your mistakes or is the mistake done on purpose to make more on customers that shouldn't have to wait for a replacement.  So no TV until this Thursday night, almost 2 weeks.   I thought Walmart was the worst but Electronic express has hit toward that top. read more

Electronic Express in Cookeville is a complete dumpster fire and a stain on Tennessee businesses. We dropped $12,000 on appliances, fooled by their fake reviews and the pathetic myth that a Tennessee-owned company gives a damn about customer service. Total scam! They butchered the installation, spitting on every promise they made and leaving us stranded. They shoved damaged appliances full of dents and scratches down our throats, banking on us being too stupid to notice their junk. An assistant manager spewed lies about fixing it, only for them to call the next day and demand more money for installation we already paid for upfront. To top it off, we spoke to a manager at the Nashville location who was outright rude, treating us like garbage for daring to complain. Their customer service is a disgusting sham--dishonest, useless, and infuriatingly arrogant. Avoid this pitiful excuse for a store unless you love being scammed and disrespected. By the way, Ethan was a pleasure to work with and tried to help - but the others in the store was a waste of time and effort. I noticed that the owner responds to these reviews but offers nothing to address issues in his response. Only saying things like "it's unfortunate" or "we hope to do better to regain your trust". My plan is if we don't resolve this issue in the next few days, I'm going to load $12k worth of high end appliance on my trailer, haul them to the Cookeville store and camp out in their parking lot with a huge banner saying how I was scammed and sell my appliance in the parking lot for penny's on the dollar. It has absolutely nothing to do with the cost it's all about principal. read more

This place seems to just want to sell you as much as they possibly can and never stop pushing items. It does seem they get products that are soon discontinued from manufacturers. We recently purchased a GE profile refrigerator & after about 14 months the ice maker stopped working. I know that things don't last forever but if I'm spending over four thousand on an appliance I'd think it could make it at least a couple of years. When I called the store to try to get some kind of assistance,I was no longer greeted with the same enthusiastic energy as when I purchased the item. I was given ever excuse in the book as to why it was basically my problem now. Jason Roberts was the salesman and even the delivery guy told us we should use a different guy if we go back! That he was just out for the commission and it makes sense. When I did call and speak to him, of course he let me know that Friday he was going to speak to his manager and even reach out to the GE rep with the promise of a phone call back by at least Tuesday. Well, it is now Sunday and we haven't heard anything and I doubt we will. I would highly recommend travel any distance needed to make large appliance purchases. They already knew the model they were pushing on us was being discontinued but never mentioned it to us. They were looking out for themselves and moving inventory. The refrigerator was delivered and the guys ended up removing the doors. In the process they broke something & tried to get us to wait until the next day for the part they broke. I wish I would have just let my husband send it back! Then when the stove was delivered they sent a small electric range! We purchased a GAS range with a griddle in the middle of the stove. The delivery guy then was the person who said that was what Jason had put down on the order & this always happens. It has been one fiasco after another. This place is more like a discount bargain bin for discontinued products except you will pay full price with a nice delivery fee. We went to the electronics store in Cookeville to purchase a TV and a computer, we got help OK but when it came time to leave I think the sales person wanted us to pack our own computer in a box because it was display model. I said if the TV fit in the car I would purchase it. I asked him if he had anything I could possibly use to tie it down he said nope we don't have that at all, turned around walked away walked in close the door, that's very sad. I asked a different employee, I asked him if he had anything at all I can possibly use to bungee or tie the TV in the back of my trunk because it was too long to fit in my car. The Cookeville Electronics Express is the absolute worst place to ever buy electronics. They sold my wife a second-hand Apple computer that died in less than a year. When I brought it in the big, stupid incels who pass for sales reps passed me on to a young woman who seemed to have worked there for 2 minutes. She was as helpful as could be given that Electronic Express takes no formal responsibility for the crap they sell. She gave me a phone number for Apple. I encouraged her to get a better job as her current employer sucks! Apple, as you might imagine, concur that Electronic Express is the worst place from which to buy computers, particularly second hand computers. It had an inappropriate battery that killed the computer and that this is not unusual for Electronic Express! So, there you go. read more

One star is to many !!!!! Cookeville's store has the worst return policy on the planet. Well I really don't know about their policy. I should say they have the worst return / exchange PRACTICE on the planet. I bought an item. Took it home at which time it don't work. I returned the same day to the store. After the no receipt conversation ( EVEN THOUGH THEY TOOK 20 minutes entering all my info into their computer system ) they say they can't look it up by name or phone number or address or anything they required from me earlier that day. They did give me some good advise. Take it back to Walmart and they will exchange it. Which I did and they did. Electronic express is the worst on the planet ! Great place and I have bought several large items from here. I am a little unhappy with my last experience so I did not give five stars. I bought a Canon camera for over $700. It was not in the store which is fine. The issue is the salesperson told my wife that he was not sure when it might come in. Maybe check back in later in the week or even next weekend. I probably should have just bout it online because the data on line gives a definite time and I could track the shipment of the item. Warning: Do not shop here. They are more than happy to sell you something, but if that something breaks while under warranty they will do everything in their power to not help you. Had our TV for 4 months. It had an issue. They refused to replace it despite being under the 1 year warranty. Contacted the manufacturer, they said the store was obligated to replace it. Went back to the store and fought them on it. They "replaced" our almost new TV with what they said was a new TV. Got it home, unboxed it, it was clearly used. My guess is that it was their floor model and it has who knows how many hours of use on it compared to our barely used TV. Called the store to let them know the problem. I was told if I didn't want the used TV I could bring it back in a buy a new TV. I said I'd rather just have my money back. They refused to refund the purchase. Contacted the manufacturer again they said that because I was given 2 options they are not obligated to refund my money. So basically, I can keep our heavily used replacement or pay them more money for a new TV. These guys are nothing but thieves. Do yourself a favor and don't even walk in the door. Wish I could rate lower. Sold my fiancé a MacBook pro that was scuffed, dirty, and missing the Apple inserts. The charging block and cord had noticeable scratches on them. The MacBook itself had dirt and fingerprints all over it as well. The MacBook was listed as recertified. We asked an associate what this meant and he said, "It's basically like new its just been shipped from the factory with a problem and then someone fixes it and sends it back to be sold." This MacBook was not like new, it was dirty and the inserts were missing. To top it all off after we unboxed it and signed into an iCloud account on it, we noticed that there was a notification to take the MacBook to the nearest apple center and have it worked on due to a defective battery. Electronic Express does not imprint the product that you just purchased. It will only show a general product. Next, check with the manufacturer when the sale date was...it will be post-dated, so your warranty isn't the full year, 6 months...ect. Next, don't expect Electronic Express to make things right. I just bought an 2019 Macbook Pro 16 Inch 2 hours ago as I'm writing this review. The sales experience was mostly okay, other than the pushing on financing it after I had said that financing things, as a 19 year old, makes me uncomfortable. The salesman did explain that it was recertifed upon me asking what that meant. If you don't know what that means, look it up. But he basically explained it was perfect and ready to go. I spent $1,755 and some change after tax. I got home, took it out of the bag, and immediately noticed the box was damaged and dirty. Although I spent a lot of money on this item, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt. Upon opening the box, I noticed that the manual and the apple stickers weren't in the box. Once again, tried to give the benefit of the doubt. I open the box and first thing I notice is the laptop is scuffed up and DIRTY. I mean actual dirt. Upon further inspection, I notice that the screen has hair and finger prints ALL over it. I once again, being stupid, try to move past this. I plug the Macbook in, and start personalizing it. After 45 minutes of having it on the charger, I notice the battery icon hasn't increased at all. I click on the battery icon, and it tells me that it needs a battery repair at the nearest apple store IMMEDIATELY. It hadn't moved past 1%. My fiancé immediately called the store and they said to bring it back for an exchange. I didn't want an exchange, I wanted a refund. We returned to the store, my fiancé explained everything, NEVER ONCE did anyone apologize. My fiancé and his friend explain them as "not surprised" and "unapologetic." They had my fiancé put my card in the card reader, told him I'd be getting a refund, and gave him another receipt. NOT ONE APOLOGY UTTERED. Grateful for the refund, waiting for it to hit my account, but disgusted with the complete disregard this store has for peoples money, especially in this economy. Hey Cookeville friends. I'm sure you all already know but here's my take on this place... Electronic Express is a sham of a business. I would assume their profit comes from scamming the elderly into purchasing their over priced products. TL;DR This store is a sham, they have no knowledge of products and are disrespectful of customers. They will try to sell you the most expensive thing in the store then claim you're a fool for shopping anywhere else. I went into the store to view car stereos, I want a touch screen for my car. Personally I never buy from these types of places but I like to go compare prices. Now enters the first worker to approach me, this man lacked any knowledge of what he was selling and directed me to their most expensive product. As I was there bargain hunting and searched the stereo on my phone and found it direct from manufactured for 20% the cost they wanted. This sales person then began to verbally attack me. He assumed I was looking at the Wal-Mart stereos, saying that I would be stupid for purchasing from there and if I did they would install it and destroy my system. His claim was that I would be an idiot for trusting anyone but their store. I finally finished with "well I'm an electrical engineering student, I can figure it out." To which he scoffed and said "good luck with that" I left that part of the store and went to look at computers where a young girl came to assist me. Yet again she pointed me to the most expensive laptop (some 1.5k or so) and claimed it had 1TB of ram.... This girl was confusing the hard drive for ram... I tried to politely correct her but it warranted the response "oh no it really does have 1TB of ram, trust me I've worked here for a few years." I let it slide, if she wants to remain ignorant that's fine by me. But what really got me was when I said that I recently built a computer to which she said "Why would you ever build your own computer, there is too much room to mess something up and you would never build anything for the cost and power of this laptop (their most expensive)". I had to show here the screenshots of my pc's specs and the bill of sale, none of which convinced her that my computer even existed. When I asked her if they sold computer parts she took me to the section with mouses and keyboards (not the kind of parts I was talking about). All in all I would say never go in to this store for any purchase. However, if you want a good laugh head there and test what little knowledge the staff has over their products, competitors, and general pricing on online markets. Here is a tip you Electronics express, the only reason people buy from you instead of going online is convenience, try to be a bit nicer and learn about the things you're selling and not just the most expensive product. read more

Will never buy anything from here again! Bought 55" TV only to get it home to realize it was NOT new, the box was re-taped, pieces were missing. When my husband called the store the manager would not guarantee us that it was not a returned/unused item. He kept stating if we would drive the 45 miles back to the store he would give us the missing pieces plus $40 for our time. My husband informed him that we did not shop for a used TV and would return the TV same day (within 2hours) for a refund. Once we arrived back to the store with the TV we were informed that the $$ would return to our debit card in 7-10 business days. Debit card--- same as cash!!! But... their policy is with cash payments they have up to 14 days to mail you a check refund back!!!!! Total rip off!!!! NO TV AND NO MONEY FOR TEN DAYS!!! Used items and poor customer service!!! Update to review posted earlier. As stated we had left multiple phone messages for return call regarding newly installed dishwasher that was not functioning. We never received a call back after three days of calling. We went to the store and both the sales person and manager denied ever receiving a message. I am not that gullible but did not argue that point. They set up removal of the washer and installed another new one - with a different delivery team per our request. These guys were excellent! Found out original installers had not hooked up the ground wire for one thing. And the top of the dishwasher had been dented in so the cutlery tray was inoperable. They even noticed that the refrigerator installed at the same time had not been leveled and took care of that before leaving. I am satisfied with the appliances and the second installation team, but will not be purchasing anything further from Electronic Express after this experience. Takes a lot to get a bad review from us, but here's the deal: We bought & paid for a new laptop for our daughter (Cookeville, TN). It was not in stock, so the sales people ordered 1 for delivery, & specified our pick up for any day after 12/20/18. The closeness to Christmas had us nervous about this arrangement, but they assured us their scheduling, organization, & delivery date were on point. We hate giving Walmart business when other good stores are an option, but.... BUT.... We went to pick up the laptop 12/23/18. After a long wait, we were informed that unfortunately our bought & paid for laptop had been accidentally sold to another customer. They followed the bomb drop with a promise that a manager from another location, had been contacted to drive another one in to them/us - promised arrival 12/24/18. At this point we were very concerned about the timing, and not exactly happy about the mix up, but told them we WOULD be happy, so long as the laptop we bought, was THERE on 12/24, as promised (again).. It did arrive, & I told the sales people myself, "Ya'll came pretty close to ruining Christmas, but you saved it, so we're happy!". We hurried home, wrapped it up, and stuck it under the tree, for our daughter to open the next day (Christmas!). Our kids just get 1 big present, & a stocking w/ little stuff, so the big present is EVERYTHING... She loved the look of her new laptop, and couldn't wait to turn it on... At first, we noticed that the box was slightly damaged (no big deal), but then we noticed it had no original factory stickers/screen protector (also not too big a deal), but then the Christmas "WTF" moment hit.... The laptop was USED.. Still locked under the name of some guy named "Larry B", in fact. Completely unusable. Our daughter sat around sad all Christmas day, trying to guess what "Larry B's" password might be, just so she could at least see what the new laptop we MEANT for her to have, was like. Opening a USED, locked, unusable electronic 4 Christmas, is not fun. It's also not fun to be the parents who save up all year to buy a brand new laptop, to watch their daughter open a used, unusable laptop (especially after previous troubles)... The day after Christmas we headed back to the store, explained our repeated trouble w/ the purchase, & waited for the sales people to make some phone calls... Kids wait 365 days for Christmas as it is, our daughter really wanted her laptop! We wanted the brand new laptop we originally bought/paid for, but it was accidentally sold, & then accidentally replaced with a used one? That's a lot of mess up's at Christmas. After a bit, a sales person returned, stating that the company was willing to 1: Reset the laptop to factory settings, & give us a $20 partial refund/discount on it, 2: Refund us, or 3: Buy something else (no discount).... We said, "$20? For that we'd almost rather you just order us another brand new one. She'll have to wait even longer, but if $20 is the difference between used & brand new, it would make more sense for us..". We were then told that that model was only on sale for Christmas and that having a new one shipped in, for the price we ALREADY PAID (but had it sold on us), was not an option... So, take the used/return back home with us, w/ a $20 discount, get a refund and go home with no laptop, or spend another $100 & buy something already in stock (no discounts). They sold our laptop and then denied us the same laptop for the same price, cuz "Christmas sale is over - can't order more at that price". She wanted her laptop so bad that we chose to have them restore it to factory settings, & took the almost offensive $20 discount for a return/used electronic (cuz OUR, paid for new one was accidentally sold?) .. Really? We nor our family are happy. Walmart is not usually our 1st choice, but it will have 2 be for electronics from now on . It's one thing to make multiple mistakes. It's another thing to make multiple mistakes, at X-mas, and only offer offensively small, barely but not even, "fixes". Electronics Express kinda ruined X-mas after all. :( read more

This is the most horrible place to get anything, or to have any customer service that doesn't prioritize customer service over profit. There are many things wrong with this place, one is that they are super overpriced and only care about money. My husband and I spoke to a associate and they said that they stay employed if they make a profit or sell a lot of stuff. They don't care about their customers, for example, my husband and I were looking to purchase a gaming desktop from them and they didn't have any in stock so they gave us the only one that they had which was the demo one. When we brought it home and tried to boot it up, we found out that and the advertised 3TB storage wasn't available, and didn't work and it only had 500GB . They also gave it to us while it was still in demo mode. So we took it back and they offered to attempt to get a new one for us so we let them order one from their warehouse, and the morning they called my husband, they said they had the one that we wanted, so we went and got them, and when my husband opened it up he realized they gave us the wrong computers. So when we went to return them, they tried to tell my husband that he was stupid and didn't know what he was talking about and tried to say it was the same computer but different parts. They also tried to rule us up so we would start a fight and not be able to get our money back. If I could, I would rate them NEGATIVE 5 STARS. I will not be returning to this place. read more
