My name is Lynelle Nowlin and I would like to share my review with all of us old timers out there.I am 72 years and for about 15 years I have been trying to find someone who would repair old electronics that I bought back in the 1970's and 1980's.Whenever I would take my dysfunctional product to an electronic repair store I would have to hear those dreadful words that I would be better off buying something new rather trying to get my product repaired.Or I would be told that they just don't work on anything older than 5 years old.Along with those dreadful refrains I would always get stares as if I walked in with a dead body.I have probably thrown out more of my hard earned electronics than I care to say.In 2007 my youngest son gave me his old CRT Compaq Presario system to practice on as I had never put my hands on a computer until that time.I actually had no interest in bringing myself up into the 21st century computer use realm but at his assistance I decided to give it a try and I am happy to say that I have become pretty good at using a computer.About 2 months ago I noticed that the "dark screen" and "select screen type" buttons were unresponsive.I already knew that there was no use in taking my monitor to any repair shops that were run my the so-called "Millenniums" so I just mulled over what to do until yesterday when I decided to perform a Google search and see if I could find a repair shop that could help me.The first hour's search only gave me repair shops that were out of state or repair shops that did not work on CRT computer monitors.I kept changing up my search words and requests and after about 2 hours I hit on the Electronics Repair Company of Phoenix.I called the owner Igor Pleshty and told him my problem and rather than adding to my frustration and fear he replied that he was familiar with Compaq CRT monitors and that he would be glad to take a look at it.Even though Igor's shop is about 20 miles from where I live I couldn't get out of the house fast enough.When I drove up to his shop he happened to be standing outside talking to a customer and when I introduced myself he walked over to my car and took a look at my monitor.All the while I'm biting my fingernails praying that he could help me.He walked my computer into the store and although I was expecting him to tell me that it would be a couple weeks before I could get it back he diagnosed and immediately started work on my monitor.I was amazed and even shocked that within 15 to 20 minutes my monitor was repaired.I of course am so sorry that I hadn't met Igor 20 years ago when I started throwing vintage electronic equipment away.I am so glad and grateful that I found Igor and of course will be using him from now on.The only downside is that I realize that Igor is a dying breed,figuratively and literally and I would suggest that any of you old timers out there that have something that you've thrown in the back of a closet need to seek him out before it's too late.Igor and I had discussed the fact that in not too many years from now he will be retiring and none of his children have no interest in taking over the business.I can't say enough about Igor and I am so grateful that he is here for now.It's really too bad that the elder public does not have more of types like Igor to rely only.I am more than grateful.Thanks Igor. read more

After returning from a trip, My Panasonic VHS-DVD would NOT turn on. Initially I thought the batteries in the remote was the problem, but pressing the power button did not respond either. We knew we has left a DVD in the unit, but the eject button could not work without power. I heard about ERC, although it would be about 10 miles from my home. I phoned to see if ERC could even check my unit out. After taking unit in, The owner, Igor (pronounced Egor) looked at the unit, and said it appeared to be a problem in the power circuit section, but said he would need to do a diagnostic test, for $65, to determine the specific cause. He noted it could be up to two weeks before he could get it repaired. Well, two weeks later, I phoned him, and he said the new parts he ordered were to be delivered by 8pm that day. The next day, I received a call to verify the parts received and installed had my unit working like "brand new". When I arrived Igor also showed me it was working just fine. The price was very reasonable, and less than purchasing a new combo unit, if you can even find one. If I should have any other electronic unit problems (TV, etc.) I will bring them to ERC for repairs. - A very happy CUSTOMER. read more

We are a manufacturer of Turbine blades. One of our casting furnaces developed a problem where it wouldn't turn on. Our technician troubleshot it and determined it was the power board for the PLC. This was designed to not be rebuilt, but to be replaced. The problem is that it has a computer inside the unit that has all of our operating programs in it. This can't be backed up in anyway. Without this, we would be losing $40,000 daily. Igor had saved us on a processor board a year prior, so I left this one in his hands to save us again. He worked on the board overnight to assure that we had it the next day. We installed it and it worked like it was brand new. I don't know how long we would have been down for, and feared that it could have lost us well over $500,000 in lost production. Igor was a lifesaver for us. We had a problem with our Jenn Air Oven. We made the mistake of running the self clean cycle on our Jenn Air. I called Igor and he said bring the control panel in for analysis. It was worth the 26 mile trip. Igor went to work immediately and showed me the issues with the panel. He soldered damaged connections, and replaced some of the relays and one capacitor. The display looked brand new. When I put the oven back together the displayed worked great. Then we had a F1 in the display, Igor followed up and said I had to replace the Temperature sensor. Ordered, replaced and now the oven works. The display is like new, we can read it now. Igor is a breath of fresh air, it is great to work with someone who cares about their trade. We will now be able to have our family Sunday dinners again, Chicken Cacciatore this week. 31 in attendance, 5 children, 5 interlopers 16 Grandchildren, 5 Great children. Found Igor thanks to Yelp, and he is AMAZING. I called today, and he told me he's not normally open on Saturdays, but he was expecting someone to drop off a 75" TV, so if I wanted to come over fairly soon, he'd wait for me. I brought in an esoteric German medical device, expected to just drop it and run, but Igor dove right into it while I waited. I offered him the instruction manual, and he just laughed. He showed me exactly what was wrong, and showed me what he was going to do to fix it. When it was done, he asked me "are you happy?" When was the last time someone asked you that? Amazing service, a true expert, and a funny, interesting guy. The shop is filled with every type of electronic device you can imagine, and he's going to fix all of them. If he had his own reality TV show, it would be a hit! I hope none of my other electronics break down, but now I know who to call! read more

Igor was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I called in asking if he couldn't help fix my flatscreen TV, and even though he doesn't fix flatscreen anymore, he helped me identify what was wrong with it. Then he helped find the cheapest but most reliable part out there and gave me information on how to make sure that I'm ordering the right part number and who I can trust to install it. He didn't have to do any of that, and yet he still went out of his way to make that happen for me. If the service is this Fantastic without paying them, I'm sure it's even better when trusting them with your electronics five stars through and through and I highly recommend Igor. read more

Awesome experience today. Brought my LED TV with no picture in to Igor. We had already replaced it, but I hated to see it go to waste. Igor diagnosed it immediately, gave me a fair price to fix it and told me they could have it done within 2 hours. Just about an hour later, I received the call telling me that the job was complete. When I went in to pick it up, the repairman walked me back to the shop and showed me exactly what he did to repair the TV. They gave me some recommendations to prevent my LEDs from burning out in the future, and sent me on my way. I highly recommend this place. Igor is a straight shooter. Excellent service. read more

My Visio TV, suddenly developed a problem, where it was not powering on. I am stuck at home in a wheelchair, so I called Igor, at ERC and told him my situation. He came over to my home, and quickly identified the problem with a power supply board. He replaced the bad parts on that board, instead of selling me a new board! Saved me big $$ doing that! TV is working great, and he used higher quality parts, so they would last much longer!!! Igor is a genius, and can repair most any electronic item!!! I highly recommend him! I brought my Genesis MX-900 remote to ERC convinced it was finished. Igor took one look, tested the batteries, and instantly found the problem -- they weren't truly new. I went last night to get some repair work done and this company helped me right away. They were so helpful and it is hard to find a company these days to spend the time to be helpfull. This man even did my repairs while I waited and since it only took him a short time he did not even charge me. I tried to pay him and he would not even take any money. How about that for service. IGOR IS AMAZING! I did a lot or research today to find the right person to fix the sound issues on our 85 IN smart TV. I figured it was going to be very expensive. :( I called Igor b/c of all the reviews, and man were they right! I was only going to ask for an appt as he was closing in 10 min. The owner Igor is incredible. I have used him for years. Instead of coming to your house and charging for a service call, he will first diagnose the problem over the phone and ask you to try some remedial steps or procedures. Half of the time your problem is human-caused and he can walk you through fix the problem over the phone. But when he does have to come to your home, he can diagnose and fix the problem better than anyone else I have ever used, and especially better than your cable box techies. i would not use anyone other than Igor. read more

I had an issue with a control board for an appliance that I did not want to take to an authorized repair because the cost would have been prohibitive since the board was not replaceable (older, out of stock). I went in to ESC, and the owner was able to quickly determine what the issue was and completed a repair. The contol board was back to new in terms of the functioning. I was impressed - they have the knowledge to "repair instead of replace" which is exactly what I wanted. 100% recommendation. Thanks. read more

I called Igor to look at my adcom preamp and amplifier to find the humming I was hearing through my speakers. Igor took the time to open my components with me there to teach me about the inner workings. He found nothing wrong with my equipment and showed me what it would look like had it been damaged. He explained to me how to find the issue and didn't charge me anything for his time. I traced it back to a faulty surge protector. Great service. The owner closed at 6:15pm and after a long day he stayed an extra 45 minutes to help me. I am a single mom with a 7 yr old boy and his t.v. And Xbox are life as summer vacation is here. I could not be more grateful or satisfied with the customer service and willing to help him and his son showed. The owner, Igor, is absolutely amazing!! After a subdivision power outage, our television was dead. Igor stopped by and within 10 minutes, our 65" television was back up and running. I was surprised to get a phone call from Igor Pleshty, the owner of Electric Repair Co.I had him talk to my husband and he walked him through how to get the sound back on our TV.
