One nail chipped the day after getting it done and I came in for a quick touch up and was made to wait 45 min, had terrible service and the staff ultimately did the wrong color on the chipped nail. I've been to Elegance Nail Salon many times. The positive bright spot is Tina. She gives the best foot massage during your pedicure, does a great job and really takes her time. Unfortunately I can no longer justify paying the high prices at Elegance. In the last 6 months I've had a couple of bad experiences, ( Not Tina ) so has my friend who went with me. Only a couple of the nail techs can do the nails you want. They don't really listen to what you want, and overall just do a fair job, rush but then charge you high prices. They try to tack on money too, they tell you one price but then it ends up a different price. You then are put in the position of having to haggle over pricing and that totally ruins the relaxing experience. I really don't like having to go looking for another place, and leave Tina but unfortunately the overall vibe of Elegance has changed for the negative and it's no longer a fun experience. read more

2 of my friends and I made an appointment 3 weeks in advance. We arrive on time and the place is packed with people which was understandable as it was in early May meaning prom season. They tell us it will be about a 15 minute wait and to chose a color, I was getting dip gel nails, one friend was getting a full set of acrylics and the other was getting an acrylic fill with a design. I get taken in first and they start on mine, I picked a white sparkly dip from there colors, mid way through it's looking like a clear sparkly nude which was not what the sample looked like at all, as well as towards the end the nail tech cut one of my fingers with the file. The whole process took about an hour and I ended up with something completely different from what I ordered, they were a chunky clear sparkle with a yellow undertone. I turn around to see that one of my friends had not been started, by the time she starts it's 7:15 over an hour and 15 minutes after our appointment time, she did not leave the salon till 8:30 that night. Lastly after only 10 days they began to fall off despite being told they would last 3 weeks. I would not recommend and I do not plan on returning. read more

PEDICURES: They usually give a nice massage and the polish stays on for a decent amount of time. Prices are pretty fair. I get the milk and honey for 35$ ACRYLIC NAILS: Most of the technicians put very little effort into achieving your desired nail shape. They talk to each other the time during your service, and just generally don't see to care. They also have a hard time doing anything besides the classic square nail shape. Your nails will probably only lasts for about a week before starting to fall off. EYEBROWS: They do a decent job with eyebrows. Nothing special but nothing outstanding either. read more

Terrible customer service! I have been a loyal customer for many many years. I have brought my mother (from Columbia) and my daughters there and the ladies have watched them grow up. Today I made an appointment hours in advance for my daughter and I to get a pedicure before she left for college the next day. It was a busy day trying to get ready but I wanted to have a special moment to relax and take a break from packing. We got there for our appointment and sat down. I was started right away but my daughter wound up waiting for over 40 minutes. I kept asking when she'd be started and they said someone will be right there. I was done when she was started. When I asked to speak to the manager she wouldn't even come over to me so I had to go to her and explain what happened and that I was very dissatisfied, she then blamed me for not having requested somebody specific when I made the appointment and that they get busy so not their fault. She did not apologize for the wait nor offer it on the house as a good business practice would do. This is not the first time this has happened but I was never treated with such disrespect before. They are unprofessional and rude-- they proceeded to ask my mother a million questions about her personal life, then began talking about her in front of her. The lady doing my nails hurt me during the service 5 times until I finally pulled my feet away and asked her to be gentle, she acted like she did not hear me and spoke to the technician directly after. I gave them 2 stars becasue the staff is very friendly. However, that being said, I contracted a fungas on both of my large toenails and I wouldn't have made the correlation to this salon except that my daughter got a pedicure the same time I did and also came down with a fungal infection on her big toe. I suggest bringing your own nail triming supplies or just finding another salon and don't risk it. And before anyone tries to debunk my claim, both my daughter & I were dianosed with the toe fungus and our doctor specifically said the type of fungal infection is what he sees in women and men who frequent nail salons. Best manicure, pedicure, gel nails, pink and white sculpted nails and waxing in the area. I ove everyone that works there and they are reasonable priced, unlike at least one place nearby. I'm never afraid to tell them exactly what I want and they always deliver. I bring my daughter, my sister and make it a family affair. I always make an appointment - ask for Tina or Vivi when making an appointment as they are the most skilled but all of the staff is good. One bit of advice, like with most salons - bring cash for a tip as you cannot tip on the receipt. read more

I went to get my acrylic nails taken off. He didn't soak them and pulled them off aggressively. It was very painful and even when I was in pain he didn't stop. He hurt my natural nails and said it would take 90 minutes to soak off so instead he just pulled them off. Very bad experience and it was $15. Would not come here ever again. read more

I have been to this salon multiple times. Unfortunately, I WILL NOT return. After completely messing up trying to apply dip (in white but turning them pink), I had to go another round. One hour and fifteen minutes later, and having to change my choice of color, I was charged full price. Meanwhile, I had to cancel a business meeting and missed multiple important business calls while they tried to redo their mistake - at full price. It's never relaxing, the techs talking loudly over each other, they NEVER say no to walk ins, so they just rush the clients already there. My daughter and I went this week. I got my nails done. A total of 2 minutes spent with me. Did not do anything you would expect from a 15 dollar manicure. My daughter had pedicure and manicure. Also, was rushed and did not do half of what was expected. Very disappointed in the services. I had a gel fill and a "pedi". I went here because I was in a time crunch this weekend and needed this done. My nails are ok. I'll stick to my usual girl and when I'm in a jam again I'll go to one of the other salons in Olney. Pro - I was in and out lightening fast (not the usual several hours I'm used to). Con - My supposed Pedi consisted of 10 min in the chair with her cutting, filing and painting my toenails. $25 later I'm done! Yes, you read that correctly - $25 for 10 minutes to clip, file and paint!!! Did you notice I didn't say anything about heels being done, cuticles being trimmed, feet massaged. I mentioned 3 times to make sure to get my heels smooth since it has been 2 months since my last pedi and they are a mess. Even after saying that she didn't touch them! Once she started painting I asked why she didn't do the other things one would expect and she said that's a Spa Pedicure for $35 and we did a Regular Pedicure. It would have been nice to know that as a 1st time customer. When I asked initially the difference she mentioned the difference was in the massage but didn't say anything about heels, even when I was talking about her smoothing my heels she didn't say anything. I've never had a Regular Pedi that didn't do the heels. WORST PEDI EVER and I get them regularly and have for years. Now I have to pay someone else to give me a real pedi. I'll never go here again for a pedi. With how quick she was (and everyone else I observed) they don't spend time on your feet and isn't that the purpose of a pedi? Don't waste your money. read more

This salon has significant problems. This is the second and final time that I have been injured by the people at the salon as they performed paid services. First, my nail beds where severely damaged while the technician removed gels. The damage left deep grooves in my nails that took months to grow out. Second, the skin above my eye was injured / ripped while having my eyebrows waxed. I have a large scab above the eye / below the brow that is painful, unattractive, and absolutely unnecessary. I'm assuming this is "fancier nails and spa" in the same shopping center as Harris teeter. I came back here after having a bad experience at another local nail salon. I had a terrible experience this time. I had an appointment at 12, and wasn't seen until 12:45. I thought maybe it was due to lack of staff, but I peek around the desk to see 5 more nail technicians doing absolutely nothing. I tell my nail technician I want simple acrylic French tips. The whole process wasn't bad, she didn't rush or anything but it was the end result that led me to give it one star. I've had French tip acrylics before, and my acrylics should NOT begin to peel off the next day. There was already spaces between my acrylics and nails THE DAY AFTER I GOT THEM DONE. I got them done last Friday(the 28th) and there should be no reason they are already needing a fill... She didn't cut or trim my cuticles or push them back. Plus I didn't pay an extra 4 dollars for gel, and so I was left with a thin thin clear coat that you can see where she took the drill, as in there are scratch marks on my nails that are VERY visible. My cuticles were poorly taken care of (did not soak fingers or heat hands in any way, instead put a sandwich bag over my hand for less than 1 min), and polish did not go to end of nail bed. DO NOT GO HERE. I had been an Elegance Nails customer for some time before my last, HORRIFYING experience. It had always been fine, but now I confidently can say I will most certainly NEVER be returning. There were only about two other customers in the salon, and after sitting in the pedicure chairs with my friend, we noticed that one of the nail technicians was checking another employee's hair for HEAD LICE. They were undoubtedly checking for lice, and even pulling out strands of hair with louse to show the other workers. This, already DISGUSTING, scenario got even worse when the worker moved behind me and actually pulled out a lice bug to show the woman who was doing MY NAILS. At this point, especially after having lice myself (in the third grade), spoke up because I recognized how easily spread the bugs are. I told them that it was very easy to spread, and not an appropriate place to deal with the bugs. The women pretty much had no regard for my comment, and at this point, my friend and I ready to jump out of our seats to leave. It gets even BETTER- They then moved the women over to the nail drying area, and another one of the employees returned with RID (a drugstore lice treatment kit)!!!! Then the woman proceeded to TREAT the other employees hair in a place where other customers sit. I had never been so disgusted in my entire life, so as we were walking out, we told the manager how WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE and DISGUSTING the scenario was, and that a nail salon with customers is NO PLACE to treat someone for lice!!!!! read more

This place is pretty dirty and close to what I would call a dump. My nail technician had a crappy attitude and told me I couldn't change the gel nail color if I didn't like the one I picked out. So no point in going there if you are looking for good service or a clean and upscale environment. If you need something last minute, it's fine.
