I heard several recommendations for a few stylists here & not too far from home. I chatted with someone on phone, told them what I was looking for in a stylist's skill set & they recommended 2, both happened to already be on my list of 4 from here. I took a stab, picked 1 & made an appointment. Easy scheduling My experience was that the overall parking lot was a zoo at midday. I have a large vehicle & made circles 1.5 times. Entry to parking lot fools you when you 1st pull in, the small shopping center with all staff parking is very empty when rest of lot had only 3 spaces available. I found out, there's another side lot but only accessible from separate entrance off Georgia Avenue. Ive noted for next time. Upon entering, the salon looks nice, lots of stations as pictures showed and the front desk staff are very friendly, greeted me with smiles & acknowledged me right away. They had me sit in waiting area in front as stylist was finishing a client and I was a few minutes early. I waited a little bit, no big deal, and my stylist came and introduced themselves and took me back so we could discuss what I was looking for. After that, a wonderful shampoo & scalp massage. Heavenly & enough time provided, didn't feel rushed. Back in the chair & cutting began with sectioning & clipping hair up, then started with nape & worked a little on top sides. When stylist was almost done, had me check the back to make sure short enough, it wasn't, so more cutting. I appreciated being conservative & checking in, then going back to lift more length. I checked in the mirror again and felt length was good. Added some gel & that was it. OH! Mind you my hair is still wet. Luckily it is summer so I didn't mind, but this is 1st time I've left a salon with wet hair & not feeling complete. Now maybe we didn't communicate fully, maybe stylist planned to dry my hair, maybe not, but in talking I had mentioned I never blowdry my hair, which we talked about & isnt best for your hair & I let it dry naturally. So, maybe that influenced not drying my hair. I didn't fully mind except that I couldn't see a glamorous, LOL, but mainly professional ending & hair appointments are my only opportunity & treat to myself. What i also didn't know until now, after-the-fact, they do offer options for just cut & wash without blowdry at a lesser cost. So, I did save $. If I knew beforehand, or someone explained, I would have requested a completed style with drying. Because we talked the entire time and stylist was SUPER personable, I was distracted & on way home started wondering, did my left side get touched? Did I even get a fresh trim all around which I needed? It was 13 weeks since my last haircut & always feels nice when hair is freshly trimmed. OR did stylist only work on the main point of the nape being too long & top looking heavy, which was what I mentioned as main dislikes currently? I did bring a picture of myself t9 show what I wanted & liked about prior styling in the back. Once I got home, hubby said the back was uneven, longer on 1 side than other. He took a picture so I could see. Lucky he can cut a straight line, so he fixed. But next morning when I washed & let hair dry, the sides of my hair didn't look completely even & ends still looked needing a fresh trim. I guess my wonderingon my journey home was correct. I'm good at cutting my own hair, so next hair wash, I trimmed a little to even up sides & get a fresh cut on sides. SO, would I return? Definitely! I have options of repeat try or 3 others at this salon who were recommended. I'm willing & should return to try others as I overall had good experience. Everyone was very nice there & if I can get better parking option, definitely worth a 2nd visit. AND every customer that left appeared to be regulars & appeared very happy & looked great. Please know that they take credit for service, but tips have to be cash or Venmo only.

I called several establishments a few weeks ago to schedule an appt for the Cezanne smoothing treatment, which is formaldehyde-free unlike the Brazilian treatment. The other establishments did not respond to online inquiries (a bad practice) while others had limited weekend booking availability. I was able to schedule an appointment here easily. I arrived to my scheduled appt a few minutes early and my stylist Sam was ready for me. She had Sandra wash my hair before cutting my hair then applying the treatment. The head massage while shampooing was very relaxing. Sandra was sweet and asked me several times while I was there if I wanted anything to drink. They offer complimentary coffee and snacks for patrons which is very unique and thoughtful. Sam was very personable and had a cheerful disposition. We chatted the whole time and she was delightful to talk to. We have a lot in common. That aside, she is skilled at what she does. My hair was sleek and smooth when she was done. They have regular size (not liter) hair care products available for purchase. Also, if you don't have cash to tip, they charge your desired tip amount to your receipt and give you cash in return to give to your stylist. They have thought of everything. She even rescheduled my initial appointment when I needed to cancel (with notice). I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early which gave us more time for the consultation. Once the appointment started, she told me she hasn't taken new clients in over a year because the wait for her existing clients became too long. I asked, "so how did I get here?" She said she didn't know and that maybe I just emailed her at the right time. When I left my appointment with frizzy hair (I guess she doesn't flat iron hair or normally work with curly hair) she told me I could reschedule a new appointment next season or next year, it's up to me... I'm sure she is far more friendly and helpful with her existing clientele. I'm also sure I won't be returning but that is probably alright with Amy.

I had no way to attach a response to Christina, so I'm responding to her by this update review…read moresection. I must say her comments are a bit inaccurate. The 2nd appointment i told her how fantastic everything was & wanted same result. I was surprised how easy my hair was & needed little attention (see 1st review). On 2nd visit, I Explained briefly since I was not a known client yet only visiting for initial consultation & 1st time haircut. But the 2nd cut, the hair was too heavy on the top (I told her on 3rd visit) and the nape of the neck on one side was laying funny after I went home & after couple days washing & tried to style. I trimmed the nape and cut more off the top & sides myself and looked so much better and laid right when I finished. I told her that on visit #3 before starting, which she commented didn't look like her cut. And we chuckled. On my third visit, we consulted briefly going over what I changed & why. I DID tell her I was disappointed. Also on ALL my visits I mentioned I wash, scrunch my curls. I walk in with wavy & slightly curl to my hair & nothing hanging in my face. I rementioned to be careful of the thinning top section in back because if too short it sticks up funny. Not like a cowlick, but light enough that you can see the thinning & it won't lay right and lifts away from my head too much like a missing layer underneath. 1st visit hair I walked out with my curls more in mind than 2 & 3. Even said, I don't like hair in my face, but visit 2 & 3 I left with it straight & hair in the face. This 3rd cut, that back area around the crown is too short, unmanageable & doesn't lay right, sides are also cut so it lays in very strange directions & I have to use curling iron on all my head which is what I've gotten away from for a few years now. Even with curling iron I'm having difficulty getting sections to even lay correctly. Im fighting my hair daily. Only thing is wait for it to grow & not cry. The nape was again laying funny after washing & air dry & after trying for a week, had to have my husband cut to try & fix. On my first visit Christina analyzed my hair & growth directions which made me feel comfortable & she worked with that pattern & that's why it was perfect cut & I seriously had little need to fuss with it, see 1st review. I was amazed & felt I found my person. However, going 3 times & only 1 result that I can be happy with & not trim later, I can't return. I never mind stylists that dry & style your hair a little different, its expected. BUT it's the cut that counts. And once you get home, go to your routine to wash, scrunch & for me let it air dry, that's when you know how the hair is truly reacting & that stylist worked with your deficits & oddities. I was truly disappointed that this didn't work out!! It happens, But also do NOT say I didn't tell you how I was unhappy after the 2nd cut. I DID! & if you recall, I took the blame saying that maybe I didn't explain as in depth as our 1st session. Our 2nd visit discussion was shorter & maybe that was our downfall. I tried to recreate my verbiage as best as I could with everything I thought I said the first time, but apparently we both missed the mark for 2 out of 3 cuts. My hair didn't end up as satisfied as 1st & worse by cut #3. Going to someone new is anxiety for me because of thinning & loss. I had to resort to doing my own cuts since COVID & this was my 1st experience back in a salon in 5 years. You did take a lot of time with me, you tried (for that I've changed to 4 stars), but my hair is obviously little more of a challenge.
