I booked my bridal appointment online, and within hours they called to learn more about what I envisioned. We talked about my style, my budget, even the shades of white I liked (who knew there were so many!). I sent over a few photos, and when I arrived for my appointment, they had already hand-picked dresses that fit exactly what I described (and a few surprise options which I loved). When you walk in, you'll immediately notice how peaceful and beautiful the space is. Soft lighting, music, comfortable seating for guests/friends, easy parking, and clean, elegant fitting rooms. It feels intimate and not crowded or chaotic like larger chain stores. Every gown is displayed thoughtfully, and each one is named (so precious!). Your appointment is completely private, so it's just you and your group in the entire shop. You can laugh, cry, and take your time. The consultants and seamstress team members are experienced and it shows. They don't rush or pressure you; they genuinely listen and guide you through each step. I didn't find my dress at my first appointment, and that was okay. They encouraged me to sleep on it and come back when I was ready. A week later, they called when a cancellation opened up and that's when I found the dress. When I got emotional thinking about my mom who had passed away last year, my stylist quietly grabbed tissues and just sat with me. No rush. No awkwardness. Just compassion. Okay so here's what happened... Wedding's a year away. I've got like 200 Pinterest saves of wedding dresses that probably all look the same but feel different to me, you know? My friends are like "just pick a bridal shop already" and my mom's been asking when we're going dress shopping for weeks. I book at Elegant Forever in Urbana because their website actually worked and didn't make me fill out 47 forms. I send them my Pinterest board screenshots thinking they'll maybe glance at them. Day of the appointment: I show up with my mom and two friends. The bridal stylists comes out and she's already pulled dresses for me. Like, dresses that actually look like what I sent. Not "oh here's something similar" but "we saw what you liked and found these." I was honestly shocked. The whole store was ours. Just us. Which meant my friends could be their loud selves and my mom could cry without 15 strangers watching. We tried on dresses for like two hours. Nobody rushed us. Nobody was like "so are you buying today orrrr..." Found my dress. Cried. Took a ton of pictures. Classic... Fast forward to alterations appointments......the alterations team is right there in the same building, which saved me so much coordination stress. They remembered me from months before. Remembered my wedding date. Made sure everything fit perfectly. Great selection of wedding gowns, fair prices, staff that actually knows what they're talking about. The whole thing just worked. I visited a few shops in Frederick, MD and my friend recommended me to check out Elegant Forever. I ended up finding my dress, veil and added a belt to the dress! Cute and modern boutique and no one is rude to you lol. PROS: The people are so nice and chill! When you book your appointment, you have the room to yourself so it's worth the consultation fee...very private and spacious for you and your guests. The dresses are in style and contemporary, good structure and fabrics, also they have plus sizes! You can get your dress fitted / alterations on site so you don't need to find a seamstress. Easy to work with: call and find a good to come it, and try on some dresses. CONS: Smaller boutique and small ish team. Sometimes limited inventory and sizes, appointment only, very booked sometimes especially for alterations. Easier to call and leave a voicemail. You have to pay a consultation fee (but you get it back if you buy). TIPS: Get your dress early so you have time for alterations! Always try on your dress when you get it altered. Ask to see if the sample pieces are for sale, if it fits you don't have to wait for a new one to come in! Send your ideas / sizes ahead of time so you make the most of your appointment. Don't bring that many people to your appointment, it can get overwhelming. (You can bring people to the first fitting :). Wear good undergarments and bring any shoes you want to get a feel for the length. Have fun, these ladies have been in the business for decades and they are so funny. Recently went dress shopping here (made a bridal appt for a Saturday, $100 nonrefundable charge to book, but if you say yes to the dress you get it credited toward your dress) with my bridesmaids and Laura helped us- we had such a wonderful time! Totally would come back here for future big occasion dresses. It's a private studio, not open to the public, so you need to call and make an appt ahead. Upstairs they have an area where they store their dresses and a couple rooms for their seamstresses to do alterations- very pretty, professional spot. Super cute interior which is great for photos. Highly recommend Laura- she's high energy, knowledgeable, funny, and made the experience a ton of fun. I filled out their online questionnaire ahead and texted her my Pinterest wedding dress vison board, and she had fantastic recommendations for dresses that I ended up loving. They were all beautiful selections. Their dresses range from $1K+ upwards; if you're on a budget ask about their sale rack which is really just a discontinued line of dresses, nothing wrong with them at all. They had some great deals. She took the care of my sister, the bride, very personally. Every step of the way she helped make the wedding gown selection and fittings a delightful process. Luba, the seamstress, made the gown uniquely Rebecca's. The gown was exquisite, perfect. After the wedding day, Laura's care did not stop. She carefully cleaned the wedding gown. I had gone to many other shops searching for the right wedding dress, and though the dresses were pretty, they never felt like the "right" dress and the prices were always far from the budget I had planned. My experience at Elegant Forever was completely different- I had my own private appointment, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and she had dresses that actually were my size (size 4, and she had dresses in many other sizes). I quickly found the perfect dress and was able to take it home with me that night! AND it was half the price of all the other dresses I had tried on that weren't nearly as beautiful as this one. My experience at Elegant Forever was better than I could have imagined! The private appointments allow for personal care and a relaxed environment. Laura knew the right questions to ask to get me the perfect dress and made it a happy experience for my whole family. Incredibly professional environment while also providing personal care and concern for the bride. The little details such as giving a bottle of sparkling cider to celebrate me "saying yes to the dress" and the locally produced apple juices were lovely. Absolutely loved working with this Boutique! I was getting married soon and my dress needed a good cleaning and makeover. I was having trouble finding a place that I trusted and that would be able to do everything my dress needed. They took me right away, had my dress done so quick and were so pleasant to work with!
