Two and a half weeks in and still going strong!
    Cassie C.

Go see Jenny (she also goes by Kim) and get an SNS manicure. I'd had one previously done at a competing salon and came here with my aunt when it was time to refresh. Jenny took her time and payed close attention to detail. It has been two weeks since my manicure and my nails are strong and healthy and, besides the regrowth, my nails look great and my manicure is in tact. The prices here are better than most salons in the area and Jenny is really nice and good at what she does. Can't wait to go back for another SNS manicure!

I then asked for bubble bath but was told that color was not good for my skin and it is better for fair skinned individual. I am a black woman for context. I then picked a different color and she proceeded to pick a color outside of the color i picked on my toes. She asked if i liked them and i told her no not really. Then she continues with try something new. My whole service was rushed and she was very aggressive the entire time. I proceeded to pay and once i got to the car i looked at my toes and they were lumpy, lifting, and had a ding. I worked up the courage to go back in and show her hoping they would be fixed. She was very defensive telling me she has done toes for 10 years and no one has ever said anything. I attempted to show her where my whole toe nail was lifting and she attempted to file it which was not the issue. She finally throws the nail file down angrily walks away from me and says if it lifts come back. I feel i was disrespected, discriminated against, and left in tears. In no way shape or form did she ever try to change something so that I was satisfied with the quality of my nail she was extremely dismissive and disrespectful. I would never recommend this place especially not to people of color as I shouldve gotten up and left when she told me the color I wanted was only good for fair skin people in 2026. I'm truly disgusted with this establishment.

I also appreciate that they've stopped charging extra for certain nail polishes. The foot exfoliator they use is fantastic. I've noticed some inconsistencies with the Uptown Pedicure service. My first visit was great -- exactly as described, with a scrub up to the knee, paraffin wax, and a lovely extended massage. That's what convinced me to make the drive from Baltimore to Annapolis for a repeat visit. But on my next few visits, those steps were skipped entirely. I even reached out to the contact listed online, but never received a response. I decided to give it another try this past week, hoping my previous experience was a one-off mistake. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The same abbreviated service again. I also got a gel manicure this time. The nail tech was super sweet and friendly. The dry cuticle care left my cuticles shredded. The description of the gel manicure mentions a lotion massage, but what I received was just a few drops of cuticle oil after curing the polish -- definitely not the same thing. I totally understand if this location has adjusteld their service menu from the national model, but if that's the case, it would be great to have that clearly communicated on the services description for Annapolis

I really wanted to like this place because of its brand new massage chairs and cleanliness but…read moreunfortunately the bad far outweighs the good. I first came in on 2/15 to get an Annapolis pedicure with gel polish. At first I was very happy used a 10% off first visit from Annapolis moms mention and despite the receptionist making a mistake and charging me someone else balance then changing me a second time to make the difference, that was not a big deal to me. Came in 6 days later to get a basic manicure with gel before my vacation to Hawaii which was 5 days later. Less than a week later (a day after I got to Hawaii and not even touched the beach yet) my toe nail polish had flaked off and my nail polish was catching on my hair. I messaged the salon via DM instagram and they said I could come in no problem when I came back from vacation. Here's when it all went downhill: I meant to say I could come in March 15 (get back the 6th but weekends only work for me getting my one year old watched) however I put the 8th, this was not scheduled as I never received a text confirming the date which would've helped the confusion. The 15th comes and I go in thinking I'm getting my nails fixed, nope! They are too busy and I have to come another day so I say I guess I could come back 3/15 (exactly one month from my first visit). When I arrived I wanted to clarify before getting the service that they were fixing this and I would not be charged for it yet I'd still tip. I got attitude saying at this point my nails would need to be redone but this one time (said multiple times) they will do it. I have never been so disrespected in a business before in my entire life. My heart was pounding and my leg shaking the entire time, honestly I wanted to walk out of here after she started. The tech wasn't going to cut my long nails and when I asked her too she shook her head and said "well of course they are long it's been over 5 weeks". Despite the disrespect I still tipped her $8 for 30 minutes of work of doing my nails and toenails, crazy. My nails are still slightly bumpy along the tips and chipped on the thumb nail chipped only 12 days later. For the price I'd expect more, better massage, definitely better service/experience, and for the gel polish to last longer. Never had gel last so little of time. Very disappointing!

Ambience: the building is located near the new shopping center where the Aldi's is and like…read moreanything new it's fresh, clean and has a very large space. You can park in the back and use either the front or back entrance to enter thrive. When you walk in the best part about thrive is that everyone is friendly and you are greeted by the doors. You're encouraged to sign in so that your service provider knows what you requested and you can receive point (which for me is a great way to engage customers to come to their business). The service providers and attendance to know your name and the service you provided if you book before. The workstations are clean with new chairs and long tables that give a minimalist and organized look. There are at least 13 or more workstations, yet they are spread far enough so that you do not fill your sitting on top of another customer. You offered a drink of water, soda or wine (red or white) as your service begins. The pedicure service is located on the second half of the shop and contains at least 15 stations. The stations across from you are far apart, at the stations next to your close enough that if you want to chat with a friend, you could hear them in the pedicure wing. The pedicure stations are new, clean and spacious with chairs that do everything but pay your bill, they are incredible. The window dressings are floor to ceiling, and there is a door where the staff can collect items for your service but is hidden away to keep an aesthetic look. Thrive is one of the most beautiful nail shops I've been in. They've really done a great job with the decor and creating a welcoming ambience. Pedi Service- My service provider was Albert and both he and the skills are simply amazing and top-notch for my both my pedi and nail service. Albert was able to soak my nail, as I selected which petty service I wanted for that day. Thrive offer three options low-cost, medium cost, and a high-end cost. The high-end service provides callus removal and is highly recommended. Although I prefer many more options when it comes to a pedicure. the pedicure lasted a very long time and my feet felt wonderful and smooth. They do not use the grading system to remove callus as by law they are keeping with the sanitation and safety regulations for their mail business. The soothing elements they use for the pedicure, smell wonderful and did not irritate my skin at all. The pedicure lasted about 50 minutes, which I love in the filling, treatment, massage, and gel polish on my toes was excellent. Albert is a caring nail tech that checks in with you to see how the service is going, and if anything is needed for you. Nail service: I request requested a gel layover with a different design on each nail. My nails are almond shaped and had acrylic which I wanted removed. I asked if they had time in which Albert said yes! What I loved about my service is that Albert is meticulous and takes pride at every nail he works on. Not only was the shaping my nails completed with precision, but the gel that was laid over my nails were done with accuracy, which is important to me. I don't like thick nails, and Albert was very nice to ask how I felt about the thickness and shape of the nail before he moved onto the gel polishing design. I was able to send a picture of what I need it to thrives IG account and that helped Albert plan and provide the materials needed for the intricate designs. Each service provider uses a tech case that they can roll around with their items and materials, which I think is a great idea and keep things organized and tidy. Outputs innovation and technique with the design I provided was spot on, and I was more than pleased with his designs and nail work. He is the GOAT- and his personality is also very kind, which I think is great for customer service. Thrive has many color options, styles of nail paint, dip, and other options for what you would like both on your nails and or feet. They do offer other services such as waxing as well. Yet I went specifically for the nails and the pedicure. Cost and Tip: The cost of my pedicure, take off nails, tips, gel layover, and design cost me around $146. This was a great price for me considering my last shop I would pay a similar price just for a nail fill and a gel pedicure. You can use Apple Pay, card and cash to pay, yet I did didn't see anywhere to add a tip on the bill, so be sure to always tip your service provider and bring cash if you choose. There is an ATM in the back of the store in which you can pull cash out for a fee. There are many perks are coming to thrive besides the atmosphere and the service, as they offer discounts for certain jobs and careers and points for services you receive. This is a great way to keep your customers coming back and one of the reasons I wanted to have my completed by a service provider in Thrive.
