Sept 12, 2025 Review: ----- Decent stay near BAPS Akshardham temple. We stayed there for 1 night. Checkin was seamless but no goodies for marriot gold members. Room facility are good as as standard element. Clean and all kitchen utensils were available. Their drinking water was out in the lobby so lady at front desk gave us the water bottle complementary around mid might. The breakfast was also good, fresh omelette was bring made and had other standard breakfast items along with that. Overall decent stay. I like the open area in the center to hang out or soak some sun in the morning. Nice gum facility as well. Plenty of parking space available, no additional cost. read more

The hotel is affiliated with Marriott which is the only reason I stayed here. I have an 18 night stay. The cleaning people don't maintain the property or the individual rooms. I don't think they vacuumed my room at all. I had to request clean towels,bath mats and cleaning items. They offer continental breakfast which actually has a rotating offering of individually cooked options. But the coffee is terrible. The bed linens feel like sand paper. I have used the guest laundry. It is $3 to wash and $3 to dry. I won't return after this stay read more

I work a lot in Princeton and like staying at the Element Hotel in Ewing for a couple of key reasons. Firstly, I love the staff here. They are some of the nicest, laid-back people you'll ever meet. I always stay during busy weeks, and last weekend was both TCNJ graduation and Princeton University Reunions. The staff were incredibly kind to everyone, including guests who had 12-18 hour travel days and looked completely exhausted. It's clear they know how to handle high-traffic weekends with grace. As a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, I've stayed at many properties, and this one consistently stands out. Next, I love the rooms here. They're large, with full kitchens and living spaces that make it easy to host colleagues or get work done. My wow factor is definitely the laundry room. I love traveling and being able to do my own laundry, and it's always a win to find a hotel that offers a clean, functional space for that. There's a solid gym too if you want to stay active on the road. The free breakfast is a huge plus, and they had some really good bites that changed daily. Last thing is the happy hour. I'm not sure if it's every night, but they had a cocktail hour for guests with complimentary drinks. That little touch goes a long way in winning my business over and over. I had to stay here for a travel job. Its bad, the cleaners stole several lower cost items I had. They just disappeared. The rooms were so dirty. Someone threw up in my shower and it just was not scrubed. There was no vacumning under the furniture. Then this Italian manager was bragging about the hotel and rates. So jersey dishonest!!!!! Was disappointed by my stay here. The pool was closed, we arrived about 5 pm and no front desk agent. She finally came from the gym in gym clothes, so it was like we interrupted her workout to check in. It was weird. The room was nice and spacious. The gym had good equipment, but the water cups were pointy so it was impossible to get a cup and sit it next to a machine. It was also disappointing that because the pool was closed, the gym was then the kid hangout, but there weren't any rules against it. The breakfast was a pretty nice spread. There was a yogurt/oatmeal topping station to top your breakfast with nuts and fruits, some pastries, milks, juices, eggs and breakfast means, and toast and jam. No bagels despite having cream cheese. The room was reasonably priced and breakfast was good, but the no pool and no service were definitely a detriment. read more

The carpet needed clean, because am allergy to dust, we're there 2 days of coughing. Before checking out, looked behind the bed, nothing but dust. Was given only one hand wash nothing. No ice pail, water was warm only. The commentary food, oranges was old, not inviting. Has no plans to ever again. read more

Rooms large and include kitchenettes. Very clean, updated modern interior, grounds clean, good quiet location but conveniently near Hwy, nice helpful staff who were very accommodating, good value for price, and a nice basic breakfast with various choices (one hot egg item). Only down side, was shower sealed area was stained and needs properly replaced. Btwn that and having a room w/adjoining door where a small child was screaming constantly next door, I asked to change rooms. They were very accommodating however to move me as soon as a room was available ( which it was after I returned from dinner). Another issue, but not hotels problem, was the road that it is on is a mess! Pot holes that are deep and a danger! But the hotel needs to call the township and get it paved (though maybe they've tried). read more

The hotel needs a once over. It is on the older side and things were falling apart. The ceiling was peeling off in bathroom so not the best start. It was also noisy and you can hear people walking on floor above you. I stayed for work so all good but not sure I would recommend. read more

I just had a stay of 8 night. The rooms were immaculate and quiet. The breakfasts varied each day. They had gluten free bagels and muffins! They also had vegetarian options. In the afternoon there was a Hot Chocolate bar with a wide choice of additions. A social, wine get together was available for anyone who wished to participate. The personnel were all very friendly and accommodating. No question or request was denied. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit it again. read more

I'm not sure how to approach this other than saying I'm really disappointed with the overall quality considering this is a Marriott property. Let's just say that I have stayed here periodically over the past 5 years and it's changed dramatically. It hasn't been very well maintained, the concierge/front desk is lacking help and the overall condition of the property is just severely needing an upgrade, outside the room and seriously inside the rooms. One thing that caught my attention, which might I say reminded me of the movie Hot Tun time machine. Union arrival the front desk assistant stated the pool was closed due to maintenance. My response, well how long will be it closed for? Her response, oh it's not opening and it's been under maintenance for 3 years!!! . Really!?!! Come in, get that sh** fixed already. Now back to the beginning, I said to myself if one of the properties most luxurious amenity is down, why would they invest any money into maintaining the overall appearance? Have to say, I was rather disappointed. Booked a standard King but was "upgraded" to suite. The room was FAR from an upgrade. There was cracks / breakage on the kitchenette cabinets and bedroom closet. The shower stall had hair all over. Now I know bathrooms are not cleaned with Comet & bleach but sheesh, at least rinse the hair down the drain. the children & I had to use our water shoes to shower. The complimentary breakfast was decent. Staff was cordial. Due to the condition of a "suite" I will not return. read more

Disappointing. We had ac/heat problems that were ultimately fixed. Don't go here if you are expecting to get solid rest at night. The hallways amplify any sounds like people talking or a door opening. And the walls and ceilings are thin and reverberate. Windows rattle with wind and don't block out parking lot noise. Bottom line is this place is super noisy. Rooms are decent size and clean, but we found the bed to be lumpy and the shower head was an epic fail, in trying to be modern cool, but producing weak water pressure in the process. read more

This comment is directed towards the management, not any individual employees. I was so excited to take my family to New Jersey road Trip. I went through the ratings and found their rating was excellent and I chose them for my family stay. My elderly parents were also excited for our road trip. We had our reservation for Two suites (8/7 Monday - 8/8 Tuesday). Even though check in time starts at 3 pm, we reached there at 5 pm. I lined up for checking and already started having issues.. they were not ready. I saw their signs notifying that the swimming pool was out of order. They could not find a second suite (reserved) for us. Finally after 30 minutes they provided us with two suites on the third floor, we were kind of okay with that. We opened one of the suites and it was as hot as a toaster.. Air conditioner (AC) was not working. They even did not check the suite before issuing that to us. We jumped out of that suite and went to the second suite and that was okay. We called Front desk about the suite's Air conditioner issue. They said they will send someone right up but that didn't happen for another half an hour even after multiple calls. Then I went to the front desk to resolve that issue. I saw many other customers with a variety of issues there, some of them not getting their rooms and some of them were given rooms which were not cleaned. I had to drive my parents to a meeting, and we were already late. Finally, we got word from their technicians that AC is broken in that Suite. After struggling for another 1/2 an hour they managed to find us another suite on a different floor. Even though I wanted to be on the same floor as my elder parents, unfortunately that could not happen. We went to that suite and tried to connect WiFi, which did not connect throughout our stay, something was wrong. We drove out of the hotel and came back after dinner. The Second suite was fine at that point, and all of sudden... in the middle of the night it got hotter. AC did not work at all. I walked down to the Front Desk and reported the issue. Front desk staff tried to help us out with whatever they could. However, that was not pleasant and convenient after a long drive to wake up at night because of AC issues in the Hotel suite. I remember when this hotel was built and it was really wonderful. Boy has it gone downhill in a major way. It's not that it's dirty it's just amazingly run down. The sliding door in our room doesn't quite work so we have to use two hands to slide it. And when we do it feels like wood is scraping off. The complimentary breakfast is terrible. Judging by the leftover painter's tape with paint on it, it seems that our room was recently painted. But appears that they did it blindfolded. The guy who checked us in last night was incredibly nice and friendly. He should work at a different hotel. One that is worthy of how great an employee he is. read more

The Hotel itself is very beautiful and quiet most of the time. Most of the staff are friendly when not in their phones or eating at the front desk. I asked for linen and extra pillows upon checking in and I received neither. My stay ended up being longer than I anticipated due to construction on my house. First weekend came a huge party coming from a wedding reception. The noise made the atmosphere sound like we were in a club. Awaken out of my sleeps from yells and laughs I called the front desk. Well the front desk staff told me they were just checking and they just came from a wedding. I said congratulations and I still don't give a damn. You don't awaken an entire floor because y'all are drunk. Week Two I requested room service. I explained I needed clean sheets, Covers, Towels, etc., Needless to say I have been purchasing my own towels, wash clothes, trash bags, toilet tissue and dish detergent. And when I sent my daughter downstairs for ice she was told we had an ice maker in the refrigerator in our room and left with no ice. Now, fed up and tired of complaining to the staff because they are afraid to confront the unruly guest. I laid down one more night to listen to the room above me make noise and be loud at 1:00 am in the morning. Other than the small things the Hotel is a beautiful place to stay. Water filter broken and just hanging near the sink, bathroom smells strongly of mildew, phone doesn't work, and the pool is closed with no prior warning. Just feels like it needs some TLC. We booked our hotel room 2 months in advance. When we got there they told us they had to record of our reservation and we had to wait 30 minutes. The woman at the desk (I won't name drop) told us to wait while she went to her car and then called people and answered her phone while we waited. They also couldn't find the reservation of another person there too. When I say she asked us 7 times how to spell our last name, she asked literally 7 times. We drove 6 hours to get here and 4 hours into our drive, they sent an email saying the room was cancelled even though we booked 2 months in advance. The service was terrible and the front desk was no help. They didn't really seem to care and no refund or anything. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I'm a platinum with Marriott/Starwood and this room is one of the worst I've ever stayed 1. No hot water. I was told that they hope to have hot water tomorrow. Hope. 2. The hotel room phone beeps every 5 minutes because it is so old that it keeps losing its charge 3. No power outlets by either side of the bed. This might be the worst or at least tied with no hot water. I can't tell you the last time I stayed in a hotel room that didn't have USB or standard outlets on the bed side table. 4. Combo of no power outlets by the bed and NO Alarm Clock. God bless if you want to know what time it is while laying in bed and you can't use your phone as one because it is plugged in across the room. Excellent design. So to sum up - worst hotel stay in many years and I'm a business traveler (75-100) nights per year. I'm booked to stay here next week but I will be canceling and moving elsewhere. We stayed here for one evening on Friday 9.6.19. Hotel is nicely designed and appears very clean. Check in was super efficient and not a hassle at all. Our room had the space we needed and was very clean. The bed was fairly comfortable. I am only giving three stars due to excessive noise. Given the misery of our stay, it probably should be two stars. There was some sort of issue at a nearby room in the very early am hours (1-2am). A baby was screaming for hours on end. Hotel personnel were in or near the room addressing whatever the issue was with the room. Their door remained open and there was nothing blocking the screaming baby from sounding like it was directly in our room. We didn't bother to call front desk over this since hotel personnel was fully aware since they were right there. Other hotel guests also opted to walk up and down the halls talking loudly late at night and early am. The room doors are so thin they block virtually no noise. We barely slept and were not happy going home the next day. I think we went to bed at 8pm the following night since we were so exhausted. read more

Don't even know where to start with the level of disappointment in this hotel. I understand it's not a Four Seasons but I should at least expect a clean room with a working TV for what we're paying. Prior to booking at this hotel we also checked the website for a pool and it indicated there was indeed a pool at this facility. We called to confirm and no one answered. Regardless, nowhere online does it say their pool is closed. When we checked in we were told the pool is closed and given no further explanation. We still decided to keep our reservation and just take the kids out for laser tag since they couldn't swim at the hotel. We get back to our hotel after laser tag and dinner to unpack and got settled in. First thing I noticed was several disgusting stains on the counters of the vanity in the bathroom (all we did previously was dropped our bags in the room and immediately left out for laser tag - I was the only one in the room at that time). Saw the stains and took a picture of them but just decided to document it and clean the area myself. While in the bathroom I also discovered a stain on one of the towels. Discarded the towel and still decided to just stick it out. Then I went to pull the sofa pullout for my nephew and cousin to sleep on. Right as I took the cushions of the sofa off I noticed a single fortune cookie in plain sight with some grains of rice and crumbs in the vicinity. Again I took a picture, then brushed the uncleaned crumbs away and made the pullout bed for my nephew and cousin to sleep on. Next I decided I would turn the TV on so we could all watch something as we tried to sleep. Every single channel on the TV was frozen or buffering so we literally couldn't even watch TV. At this point I decided to call downstairs to the front desk. I called twice and received no response. In the morning on 11/26 I spoke to a female staff member at the front desk detailing all of the issues with our room. She did apologize and attempted to switch us in to a different room. We are literally checking out at this point so that makes zero sense. That is the only resolution she offered to which I declined. Please spend your money elsewhere. They clearly don't pride themselves with cleanliness and customer service as proven by other similar reviews. I will definitely scratch this place off the list for hotels to stay at whenever I am back in town from NC. read more

Is it terrible that after staying just a few hours at Element Ewing Princeton, I already want to live here? First: A disclaimer. I'm no traveler. Growing up, my family didn't take extended vacations. College summers consisted of full-time internships and my current job has kept me happily stationed in downtown Manhattan for the past two years. One of our largest branches is located a few miles from Princeton, however, so my team and I were assigned to Element Ewing for the night. There's not much that I can compare this hotel to, but I can say that I've been pleasantly surprised by what it has to offer. Element Ewing Princeton is a LEED Silver Certified building located in the area roughly demarcated as Princeton, NJ. They pride themselves on providing "sustainable hospitality", a practice that is evident in the Energy Star appliances, water-efficient faucets and toilets, the implementation of CFL and LED technology, and countless other efforts. This doesn't mean a sacrifice in comfort by any means, however. Similarly, the amenities offered to guests are too many to name. Free WiFi is offered throughout the building, and ethernet cables are provided in all rooms as well. The pool is open from 6am-11pm and the gym is available to guests 24/7. A complimentary breakfast (which I have yet to try) is offered each morning as well. The Executive Suite Room in which I stayed had a full kitchen, equipped with a fridge, microwave, stove top, silverware and cooking utensils, and coffeemaker. There's a separate living room area with couches and a LCD TV and DVD Player, and the king size beds utilize Westin Heavenly Bed mattresses, which may be the definition of comfort. The room is a whopping 500 square feet of space, which is more than any one person actually needs. A few suggestions/areas of improvement: - Despite the fact I closed the shower door properly, water still managed to leak out onto the floor. - Separate dispensers for the shampoo and conditioner would also be a plus. - Providing more toiletries besides soap, such as lotion and/or cleanser, would be appreciated as well. read more

We chose to stay here for 2 nights to attend a friend's wedding that was about 30 minutes away (for NJ standards, pretty close in driving distance), and after reading about this brand's "eco-friendly" statement. We love the modern feel of this place, but it does have a contemporary flair as well. The location of the hotel is near a small county airport and industrial business parks, but don't let that deter you from staying here. We were absolutely impressed that we heard no airplane noise! The only downfall to this hotel is that there aren't any restaurants within walking distance. We were going to arrive before the standard check-in time (3pm), so I informed the front desk about our arrival time. I appreciated the friendly nature of the lady to assist us in our request. She had informed me in advance that we would get our desired room, but that if things had changed, we'd only be moved to another floor temporarily until our desired room became available. Once we arrived, we were welcomed by a charming and cozy lobby. The floor plan of the lobby is an open one, and the rest of the hotel seamlessly follows a similar feel. The hallway leading to our room had dark cherry walls and on each door, instead of using a paper hang "Do Not Disturb" tag, each one is laminated with a magnetic backing. You simply place the tag on the magnetic strip located in the front of the door. I had never seen this before, so it was pretty cool to me. We opened the door and saw a window straight in front of us with closet and drawer space directly to the right. The bathroom is to the left and the open floor plan was airy and spacious. The green, gray, and brown color scheme is easy on the eyes and gives a tranquil feeling. We couldn't wait to jump onto the bed; it was so inviting! We definitely slept well each night we were there, didn't even want to get up. :) The shower was nice and had an adjustable wand with 2 water pressure modes. The rain shower overhead was soothing, but if you're looking for strong water pressure, you won't find it here. I think the strongest water pressure was when you used the hand wand. Attached to the wall there was also two soap and shampoo dispensers. The scents were nice and not overly drying, so points on that. Kitchen was a good size with everything you could possibly need: water filter, pots and pans, utensils, bowls, plates, a cook top, full size refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave. If we were to stay here longer, we would have definitely utilized the kitchen more and made some meals in our room. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. There aren't a ton of Element brand hotels around the US, so if you happen to be in the vicinity of one, I would definitely recommend staying here. We paid $79/night with AAA discount for our Studio King Suite, and it was really worth every penny. They offer complimentary wi-fi, breakfast, and parking. This is definitely becoming one of my favorites from the Starwood Hotels family. read more

By far one of the coolest and most comfortable hotels i have ever stayed in. I was traveling with a large group and needed a place to stay in short notice and they were able to accommodate us without any problems and went the extra mile to provide great service. Large rooms equipped with a full kitchen, a giant bathroom with an awesome shower head and the mirror, well the mirror was HD lol you'll know what i mean when you look lol but yeah. a nice stay, good breakfast, fun pool and fitness room. a great get away place Hope you enjoy the stay as much as we (group o 40+) did! read more

We booked the Elements for a one night Sat-Sun stay. The hotel is aesthetically pleasing except for the hallways. I don't know who picked the drab chocolate colored walls with dim lighting. My 8 year old daughter called it depressing. They were able to accommodate an early check-in which was nice. We had a Studio Suite and it was very nice. The finishes in the kitchen were nice and modern--loved the back splash! The bathroom was roomy but the water pressure was not very good. It's nice that they have free breakfast but it was mediocre. Things were laid out quite attractively and the yogurt station was nice. However, they had these mini omelette things and they were BAD. Over cooked and dry and absolutely no flavor. They also had a pancake station and they awful. I was watching the woman make them and it is obvious that she has not been trained on how to make pancakes. She would pour out the batter and let them sit but turned them too early. Then once she turned them, she would keep smooshing them down like you would with a burger on the grill. It resulted in very thin, under-cooked pancakes. Yuck. It is doubtful we will be back in this area but we would consider staying again if necessary. Edit to add: the hotel sign says Element by Westin and we are HUGE Westin fans so I was hoping for a comfortable bed. Bed was fine but the pillows were AWFUL. It was like sleeping on lumpy couch cushions filled with sawdust. Thank goodness we were only there for one night. read more

We stayed here 1 night to visit a local college. It was 2 adults & 2 teens. The hotel is clean. The room (2 queen beds) was fine for a family of 4. It is a "modern design" I will stay here again if visiting the college. These are the things the manager needs to do for improvement. a) This is the first hotel I have been to in years which does not have USB ports - seriously. Not in the lamps, not in desk, nowhere. The manger needs to fix this ASAP. Get some hotel lamps with built in USB ports. b) No oatmeal at breakfast. I don't get it. c) Need better signage from highway to the hotel. d) The clerk could not set it up for me to get airline miles. I liked the way they have shampoo & soap in a big dispenser in the shower so you don't have to fuss with the small bottles. read more

Super disappointing. Our room the first night had an awful beeping going all night long. Staff was unsympathetic and just offered to move us to a room with a single bed, instead (meaning I'd be sleeping on the floor). Second night, we were "upgraded" from a room with two beds to a suite with a single bed and pull-out couch. I fought with staff for 45 minutes to get bedding and pillows for the bed (after being told they may not have any pillows). I got two fitted sheets. One of the TV's broke in our room on the second night. I think good customer service can go a long way when things are going wrong. Employees at the Element obviously are not trained in this area, nor is management, based on the responses I've received to my complaints. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Element hotel. It was like a modern, aesthetically more pleasing version of the residence in. We had a one bedroom which was large enough for my wife and I, and two kids. Nice kitchenette with everything we needed. House keeping was even nice enough to clean our two plates we had left. The night shift person who checked us in, Marcus, was incredibly helpful and had a very positive vibe. The day shift could have been a bit more attentive, saw a few hiding behind the wall on their phones. Marcus should train them! My only complaint was the breakfast. It's your average business hotel breakfast (Hampton, Residence), but probably the lower end in terms of quality and flavor. The stay was okay however; there needs to be better housekeeping and planning from management. Before booking the hotel, I called to see if the hotel offered housekeeping. I was told yes; I had to inform the front desk. When i checked in; I was told I had to request housekeeping a day in advance and there was no housekeeping over the weekend. I had a weekend stay! When I got to my room, there was only one set of towels. I asked the front desk if I could have another set; I was told there was not any clean and i would have to come get a new set in the morning. When asked for towels in the morning, they still did not have any. My husband and I shared a towel set! When i got in the room, I noticed the room was dusty; it was obvious it had not been used for a while. I ended up asking the front desk for a towel & cleaner to wipe down my room. The hotel had a steady flow of guests; management needs to schedule more people. The staff was incredibly nice- the Element needs to hire more people! It's still COVID. Towels are a must. read more

What a hell hole!! All I wanted was a quiet place to play my head in the middle of a long work trip. That wasn't to be found here. Walked in to the room next door blasting the radio, then shouting into a speaker phone (I could hear both sides of the conversion). After 3 hours of music and shouting, I called to complain. The desk said they would send someone up. Nothing changed. Useless staff. I can hear every word of every person in the hall. The walls here are paper thin and the doors must be hollow. Worst hotel experience ever. (And I travel a lot). Made my second complaint on the phone. And my 3rd complaint by walking to the front desk. Juwan called up when I came down for my 3rd complaint. If I could give less than 1 star I would. The bathroom door didn't close without putting my full weight against it. We actually got a staff member to try it. The shower handle fell off in my hand. The bathroom sink leaked from both handles. The kitchen being fully equipped is a joke. We were welcomed as though we were an annoyance. Marriott should rethink the partnership with this brand. We were reserved for 3 nights, checked out after 1. Upon checkout the same dismissive attitude when we explained why we were leaving. First and last time, from a Marriott titanium member2 nights short of 1000 nights. read more
