The next morning my husband sorted it out and they admitted their error. However, I feel we should have been compensated for the first night not being the correct room. I've been to Lambertville many times, but have never stopped in to Lambertville House before. It will definitely be a place to go in the future as well. They have a lovely wrap around porch to sit outside and enjoy. Inside is broken up into various rooms and a fun bar area. We sat in these awesome, comfy green, leather button chairs and had excellent snacks and cocktails. Our server Christine was attentive but also, let us sit and catch up with friends. We ordered the margherita flatbread and the Mediterranean flatbread-both excellent! Drinks included the Hemingway special, an Aperol spritz, a LB 75, and a Pacifico beer. read more

Came for drinks after scrolling around New Hope and Lambertville's shops. We ordered a Chicago Old Fashioned (based on mezcal instead of bourbon) and a Pumpkin Spice Martini. Both were amazing, very well put together. Great flavor and like always great service from the bartender. This place is always very cozy, great ambiance and amazing drinks. What happened to this place? Restaurant is gone. All the regular employees we used to see are gone. No more live music at the bar. The small bar is still there with a limited bar menu. This place used to have the best chicken pot pie in the state. People go to Lambertville looking for a slower pace and a chance to relax. I hope whoever is running the place, can turn it around. read more

I recently booked a stay at Lambertville House through Hotel.com for my anniversary. Unfortunately, due to a forecasted snowstorm in the area, I contacted the hotel to reschedule my reservation for safety reasons. Instead of receiving assistance, I was redirected to Hotel.com, where I was told I could change the reservation but would incur a cancellation fee equivalent to one night's stay. This effectively meant paying double for the same reservation, with no consideration for the safety concerns posed by the bad weather. Throughout this process, there was a clear lack of flexibility, compassion, or concern for guest safety. I also purchased travel insurance, which Hotel.com claims they have no record of, adding to the frustration and inconvenience. Given these circumstances, I strongly advise others to avoid booking through Hotel.com or Lambertville House. Their business practices demonstrate a lack of regard for customer safety and fail to offer reasonable options in difficult situations. I will be disputing these charges with my credit card company. Overall, this experience has been disappointing and reflects poorly on both the hotel and the booking platform. Customer safety and satisfaction should always come first, especially in unforeseen circumstances like severe weather. read more

We came early in the night on a whim for restaurant week. We had the room to ourselves through appetizers which was very nice. Our waitress was attentive and we had a wonderful time. The food was all fantastic. 0 notes. It got busier as the night went on. We were off to Peddlers Village anyway. I honestly worry about blowing up this spot. It is a true hidden gem. The Lambertville House has the perfect location in Lambertville - mid Bridge Street. It uses that location nicely if you are a people watcher, the porch out front is a perfect place to have lunch or a drink and check out the local color - always a show! Their prix fixe 3 course dinners are a bargain and decent overall for menu. The building has good history and the interior feel is that of a European country Inn. It is our favorite place to go after a walk or bike ride on a warm, sunny day to sit outside and watch the world go by or after dinner for a cocktail. Worth the visit. read more

Stopped into the cozy side room at lambertville house after a bike ride with the family for snacks & cocktails & catching up. The cozy couches & armchairs made for a great, relaxed vibe & service was good. The french onion soup absolutely hit the spot with a perfectly crusty cheesy top (although, the soup could have been a BIT thicker for my liking), and the cheese board was great for sharing. I also can never say no to an espresso martini - especially one shaken table side! The taste was a little too sweet for me, but I am definitely picky about my espresso martinis. While this spot probably doesn't stand out as my favorite in lambertville (there's some competition for sure in the neighborhood!), it was definitely a nice spot for a big group to be able to all sit together and chat around a round table setup! ***2 1/2 stars*** This was one of the strangest meals I've experienced in recent memory. My top tier chums and I came here for dinner this past Saturday night around 6:30pm. I'd been here before once years ago, and recall having a pretty positive lunchtime experience in the cozy front room with a charcuterie board. This was unfortunately not as good. We were led to a dining room toward the left-hand side of the building, which had a wall of wine bottles on one side (one or two bottles were noticeably missing, dinting the otherwise pleasing optic), and a view of the street on the other. It was pretty empty in there, with maybe two or three other tables occupied - the outdoor seating on the porch was bustling, so it may just depend where you end up seated in the restaurant. We ordered two apps to split - the grilled octopus and charcuterie. The octopus was very divisive at our table. I liked it better than anyone else did (mostly because of the sauce or seasoning that it was cooked in), but even with that flavoring the texture was very rubbery. One chum actually spit out her one bite into a napkin, which I've never seen her do before. The charcuterie was okay; you can see from the accompanying picture that everything had a bit of a greasy shine to it, which wasn't particularly appetizing (the cheese closest to the camera was massively sweating), but I can't say the taste of it was bad. There were a few items I wasn't interested in consuming, notably the mustard and pickles, but that's a personal palate issue more than anything else. I went with the short ribs entrée, which was underwhelming. A big part of it for me was the texture - top-tier short ribs should be tender and flaky, but this just wasn't. It didn't fall apart easily and required a lot of extra work with my knife. It was also on the bland side, and I didn't finish it. The garlic mashed potatoes that accompanied it were probably the highlight for me, and I'd argue that if your side is overshadowing the main course on the plate, that's a problem. I want to be as charitable as I can here, but our waitress was very awkward and there seemed to be a huge disconnect with her throughout the evening. She WAS nice as far as it goes, but if you had told me it was her first or second day on the job, I wouldn't have had trouble believing that. There were two significant issues that cropped up during the meal with her. The first was when my friend ordered the shrimp tacos as her entrée. Literally half an hour after she ordered them, the waitress told her they had run out of tacos. Okay, things happen. My friend then pivoted and ordered a chicken-based entrée. When the entrees all came out, guess what showed up? The shrimp tacos. Everyone was confused, especially when the waitress offered to bring the chicken out too. We still have no idea what happened, other than an assumption that the waitress was initially incorrect about the lack of taco inventory. And you can make the argument that ultimately that's a happy ending for my chum who ended up getting what she wanted, but it did speak to the serious communication issues that went on throughout this meal. The last problem was worse though. We gave her our credit cards to split equally three ways. She came back apologetically and said she wasn't able to do that. Instead, she ended up charging me for 66% of it, one friend 33%, and the other friend got off scot-free. If she was unsure how to process the credit cards correctly, there were two obvious, superior options - she should have sought assistance from another employee in the restaurant (I assume Lambertville House employs at least one staffer who can split a bill three ways), or come back to the table to let us know the issue so we could make an updated decision on how to handle it. If you can't do it, the answer shouldn't be to do it incorrectly and just drop the cards back off with us to sort it out. Very unprofessional and shouldn't have happened. We made some very pleasant memories in Lambertville/New Hope this past weekend, but overall the general impression of the establishments we frequented was overrated with mediocre food. We went to the Lambertville House recently for dinner. We live 2 hours away and made a special trip because we were looking forward to our two favorite food items. The French onion soup and their delicious chicken pot pies. We were taken to the dining room which has been redone. Reminded me of the interior of Jeannie's bottle from I Dream of Jeannie. Poofy seating in the center tables against the walls. Dark curtains hanging. We were given the menu which was one page. No soup. No pot pie. Just some snack like items and a few sandwiches and salads. Nothing that would be a dinner. OK for a light snack or lunch but that's it. The prices were high for what they offered. $16.00 for a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup! I realize it's a restaurant but there's nothing special about grilled cheese and tomato soup. Or a chicken sandwich. The drink menu was a book. Four pages. Beers, cocktails, wine and cordials etc. More liquor than food. We asked the waitress where the onion soup and pot pies were. She said they don't make them anymore. She also said other people who came in were equally disappointed We left without ordering and went down the street to the Lambertville Inn. Even that wasn't as good as it used to be but at least the menu had more to choose from. Unfortunately, we won't go back to the Lambertville House unless they bring back their onion soup and pot pies and some other items. Not worth us driving 2 hours. So if you go online and look at the menu it's the old menu and nothing is available anymore. Take note Lambertville House. In my opinion you ruined what was a great place read more

Where to start TV was on the blink for 2 days, so it was impossible to watch without getting AGGRAVATED and PISSED OFF ! Paying $350 a night for a suite but in the morning you have to go into the hallway where there is a pod machine! If you want to wait 20 minutes to order and 40 minutes to receive crappy, watered down drinks, then Lambertville House is your place. The outdoor porch area was nearly empty at 7 pm on a Saturday evening, yet we were basically ignored until we finally flagged down the discombobulated waitress. The two ladies at the table next to us said the food was inedible. They were trying to pay so they could leave, but the waitress never came so they just left money laying on the table. This experience reinforced the bad experience we had in our recent prior visit to Lambertville House, when upon leaving another waitress was downright nasty to my wife because she wanted a bigger tip for her abysmal service. We will never return here...a once nice place that has declined into a sad excuse for a nice evening out. read more

My boyfriend decided to show me the wonderful town of Lamberville, and I was loving in this place, after the walk we decided to eat something tasing We visited Lambertville House, there is a nice restaurant, all the dishes are delicious, but the Moxito cocktails were with very strong alcohol and our evening was very interesting))) I think that this cocktail in the summer should be refreshing, not intoxicating. The octopus dish had a lot of paprika, which was also a bit off-putting. I liked the tartar with tuna, as well as the oysters, it was delicious. Even in Lambertville the maelstrom of day trippers hemorrhaging from New Hope can't be avoided as the constant stream of bikers and bottlenecked traffic from across the Delaware is impossible to avoid. However, this art gallery and antiquing haven does offer a slightly more manageable restaurant scene. Take the Lambertville House for instance, this turn of the (20th) century hotel provided an outside dining idyll of considerable pleasure. Relaxed and unhurried, we enjoyed cocktails and dinner without the manic desire to turn tables that makes New Hope IMHO such an overrated drag. From a limited pandemic menu, I enjoyed a wonderfully smooth shrimp bisque and two expertly prepared crab cakes while my partner raved about a fall off the bone pork shank. Service was crisp but unobtrusive helping to dull the parade of wannabe Hell's Angels that constantly promenade up and down Bridge Street like a homeless army of expired Dead Heads looking for one last tour. I guess it's all part of the fun. Five stars for the excellent dinner and the Harley Davidson chaser. read more

Very good meal experience. While the bar was a bit cramped we were informed of the reason why the main dining room was closed. So we decided to stay and try drinks. After seeing the entrees being delivered, our party ordered Chicken Pot Pie, Mediterranean Plate, Short Rib sliders and blackened shrimp tacos plus a few crocks of onion soup. Carlos (manager) did an excellent job and the food was top notch. We will definitely make the trip here in the future. Btw, bread pudding and cream brûlée were also excellent. read more

I'm here to tell you about our one night stay. Hotel review only. We first checked in seamlessly and a little bit early. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. We entered our room and we noticed that there wasn't an outdoor sitting space like the description stated. We just called reception to check and they agreed the description wasn't accurate. We shrugged it off and went about our day. Shortly after we left I received a call from the staff saying they would like to offer us an upgrade to a room with an outdoor space. We happily accepted. Our original room was great but the upgrade was also incredible and had the outdoor space we wanted. They did this on their own accord and that never happens anymore! Pros- -Clean rooms- both rooms We visited smelled fantastic and were spiritless. -Bed was comfy -fireplace worked perfectly and was the icing on the cake -bar downstairs makes great drinks -centrally located -parking included -robes provided- I hate having to ask for robes! Cons- On the higher end in terms of cost but the amenities justify I wasn't sure what to expect from this spot. I believe the building was built in 1812 and has some quirks but that's what makes it charming. It was well taken care of and we had a fantastic. We've stayed at all of the surrounding hotels (odettes, Lambertville station, ghost light etc) and this is up at the top of the list. Looking forward to going back. read more

Ate at their Monday pre fixed menu and overall it was worth a try! The food was good, especially the desert. Unfortunately filet tips sauce was SUPER salty but overall still enjoyed the full meal. They also cooked the fillet tips how I asked (medium rare). The desert was the best part highly recommend both the crème brûlée and bread pudding. This was part of a hotel. There was a classic and old fashioned feel upon walking in with all the decor. We sat in the bar area of the restaurant. The bar as a whole was relatively small, but there were plenty of tables and couches to sit at. The service was appreciated and the menu had a number of appetizers to choose from, but not as many entrees. I just had an appetizer, the chorizo fundido ($15). It was a chorizo and cheesy dip with flour tortilla chips. It was ground chorizo with a layer of cheese on top, not what I was expecting. Regardless, it was nicely done. The chorizo had a slight kick to it and cooked appropriately. The key to the dish were the chips. They appeared to be homemade and were extremely light. This did cause some of the chips to break easy, but it did not matter to me because of the taste of the overall dish. Will I go back? Sure. read more

We've been to LH three times, once for just a quick drink at the bar before dinner, uneventful. We tried them again and had a bad experience with the manager. While I was ordering he came into the bar, interrupting me mid order to tell the bartender that other (more important guests I presume) were waiting for their bill. The bartender, embarrassed, then had to tend to the preferred guests. We didn't stay for dinner. Then just recently we tried to give them a second chance. We wanted just a quick cocktail before dinner on a Monday afternoon. The bar was empty. Bartender came over with a huge attitude, flopped down a couple of napkins and asked for our order. I inquired what kind of sparkling wine by the glass was available, you'd think I asked her to solve a challenging math problem. Then my BF asked for a Manhattan and he didn't quite understand her questions about on the rocks or up (who has a Manhattan on rocks!?!). This must have really irritated her because on the way back to the bar in a huff she shoved a barstool out of the way and proceeded in making the drinks. That was enough and we walked out. Won't be back because we were treated so terribly - twice!! We went down the street, proceeded to order the same drinks and had lovely service somewhere else (and stayed for food!).
