The wife found this wonderful hotel. The owners and staff were wonderful. Its in a quiet area and there is a farmer's market on Sunday that is literally 10 steps away (Great Taco's Pancho's). The staff was truly nice and greeted us everytime we saw them. We had an issue with one of the doorlocks at 10pm at night and the manager came over right away, fixed it and tested it to ensure it was completely fixed (I'm sorry I forgot your name so we'll just call you Superwoman:). Yolonda is awesome she has warm smile and had some great recommendations. I'm sorry we didn't stay more days but we will defintley book a week next time we come to Hillsboro. Stayed here because it was so close to my sons wedding venue and boy was I impressed the owners are awesome the place is amazing the owners have cute little touches that made me Feel welcome and you get vouchers to the little pastry shop across the street !! Since school was out for me on that Monday for Dr Martin Luther King Day, we took advantage of my long weekend to visit our daughter. As much as my daughter loved living in downtown Portland and has enough street smarts, she wanted to moved out of the city to escape from people doing drugs on the street, crime, etc.- and headed to the suburbs. No longer did we have to look for a downtown hotel like we used to when we visited her in the past. That's when our daughter suggested The Orenco in Hillsboro because it's not: (1)the typical 'hotel' and (2) it's really close to downtown Portland anyway. Margie and Richard own The Orenco with several units+rooms that are thematically different from the next. The check-in process to our (first) room worked out fine because The Orenco uses push button pad locks and since we landed in PDX at almost midnight on a Friday, we didn't have to go to the 'front desk' or fumble around with a traditional key. Our first ground floor room had a few steps leading to it with an upbeat style, funky retro turquoise microwave, full kitchenette, a comfy bed, stripe comforter, and a spacious feel- but it wasn't what we paid for. We slept through the night fine- but texted the owner about a room change hubs initially paid for and simultaneously mentioned some busy feet early in the morning. The owner was incredibly apologetic about the little ones running and we were in our intended room in no time. Thank you! Unlike the first room, this one (also on the ground floor) has the French doors we wanted, white bedding, small fridge, TV, walk-in shower and other amenities- with a warmer overall feel. We totally enjoyed our stay! The owners stand by their brand and made for a wonderful destination spot while we visited our daughter and her partner settle in their new home. read more

I really wanted to give 5 stars as the hotel is lovely, location is great, and the rooms are clean. However, a couple of things that occurred have struck me - a frequent traveler - and I would be remiss to not point them out in the hopes that the owner can learn for the future. I booked a room online for my daughter who was coming to visit for a night, and I intentionally booked a room with fireplace. When checking in, we noticed that the room she received did not, in fact, have a fireplace. When I asked Richard about that, he said "Oh, that's my mistake. Someone checked in last night for two nights, and that is our only room w/fireplace." There was no follow up with a partial room credit for the mistake he made or any future promotion in an effort to show amends - business 101 teaches that if you make a mistake, make an effort to repair and make the customer happy. The other, more egregious issue, was that I made the mistake of making conversation with Richard and letting him know that I was staying in a nearby AirBnB as I had sold my condo and was taking some time to decide my next move. He mentioned that his wife was a realtor and gave me her card. That's fine - I took it to be gracious, but I also stated firmly that I have my own realtor who handled my sale and would be my go-to person for future purchases. But I appreciated his efforts at letting me know his wife could do the same. The very next day as I was spending it with my daughter, my phone rang, and it was his wife stating that Richard had PASSED ALONG MY CONTACT INFORMATION and she wanted to help me find my next home. This incensed me as I never gave him permission to do that. i work in the medical field, and in comparison, we are not allowed to give out HIPPA information. My phone number and email are not to be given to any others when I make a reservation, and I was really put off by this action. I can only hope that my number and/or email was not given to any others. My hope is that the hotel succeed as I mentioned it is lovely, but I believe the ownership would do well to take some management classes to ensure proper processes. read more

So, the hotel owner responded to my Google review regarding the platform bed being unsafe, stating that he/she will correct the issue. However, a similar complaint in a review several years ago about the same issue by several other guests with the platform bed protrusion and hitting their shins, similar to my experience. The Orenco definitely has the bed & breakfast feel. First impression is great. We stayed in room 4B, the King Jacuzzi. When we got there the room was very cold so a space heater was put in. It didn't work, so I had to call to get a different one. It worked and heated up the room. They offer free movies to watch, so we picked out a few, but the DVD player didn't work. We called expecting someone to come and fix it. Instead we were told sorry, watch tv instead. The snacks are nice. Wish pastries were fresher, but juice, yogurt and granola bars were good. Nice, homey feel. Not sure if I would stay here again. read more

This is our second visit to Hillsboro for a wedding. This time around we stayed in a Executive King Courtyard room. The space of the room was ample and the unit was clean. The room was equipped with a nice flats screen TV, fridge, microwave and all the necessary sundries and utensils. One request would be to provide a better quality toilet paper. The business office is also at your disposal for snacks, movies or printing boarding passes. We love the proximity with the retail choices that are available as well as the park. The Max is a short walk which makes coming directly from the airport a breeze. It will take you about an hour and twenty minutes but the total price was $5.00 for both of us. If you are in need of a place in Hillsboro this is where you need to stay. read more

We booked the room with a jacuzzi tub, we had rented the room specifically for that reason however we did not get to use it due to not enough hot water to run it. The water ran Luke warm for a few minutes then ran cold. We tried to two times just in case the water maybe had run low due to other hotel useage. Other than this issue I would recommend the hotel for comfort, cleanliness, quietness, and price. It was easy check in and out. In the lobby there are muftins, bagels, granola bars, water, tea and coffee. It is not your typical large hotel chain, more like a residential turned into private rooms. It was nice the offered a few add on that made the stay extra special. Overall a good stay. read more

The Hillsboro area is always hard to find an affordable hotel. I've stayed is several of the rooms and find them superior to most hotel rooms, while saving more than $100 per night. The location is convenient as well. Some rooms have very small showers.....the only caution. read more

The room I stayed in was beautiful, and the price was reasonable. We showed up without a reservation, but thankfully got booked. This is a self-service sort of place -- don't come here if you want to be pampered, but if you enjoy a quiet, comfortable hotel, this is the place for you. Everything you might need is available as it would be in any hotel; it just isn't necessarily brought to you -- there's a communal room with some food, drinks, DVDs, etc which everyone has access to. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was FANTASTIC, but the door did let in a little light from the hallway. Minor gripe, but a gripe nonetheless. We had stayed here before in the king suite. We had a good experience so we came back a second time. Not so good the second time around. We stayed in room B5. It is on the small side. When we arrived the temperature out side was 30 degrees. The room was cold. There was no way to control the room temperature. There was a small space heater that did not work. There was a fire place but it would not come on. We called and got the space heater replaced. They said that they would get The fireplace fixed but that did not happen. The bed was lumpy and very noisy. If one of us rolled over it created a lot of squeaking sounds. From time to time an exhaust fan somewhere in the building would start up which created a really annoying humming sound in our room. Another annoyance was the flys. There was always at least one fly buzzing around the room. Where would flys be coming from on Dec 10. read more

It isn't like other hotels, you basically get your own private apartment, and the hotel seems to be maintained by secret elves that keep everything perfect (I have never seen a staff member in either of my visits, which is kind of nice once you get used to it). I had a last minute trip to the Hillsboro area and was easy to book. I was a little taken as how you check in, but was very easy and great options to speak with the staff and they answered all of my questions where answer very quickly and check out was as easy. I had to extend my trip by a day and even thou I had to change rooms for the last night, it was still comfortable. We felt as if we had a second home. I was surprised to find how convenient, cozy, and reasonably priced the Orenco was. Checking in was the easiest process I have even experienced. We were getting settled in within seconds of arrival. It is perfect for those who have had a long travel day and wish nothing more than a way to freshen up ASAP. The room was clean, well laid out, and stocked with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. The feel of the room and hotel is one of a luxury home. We had the feeling of being a guest in someones home without the awkward feeling. The Hotel is located in an ideal spot. Max is short walk away and the Indian restaurant is one of the best I have eaten at. Access to the hotel is off the street and it has the Brooklyn touch. We will be certain to recommend the Orenco to others and make it our choice hotel when staying the Hillsboro area. read more

This is a great hotel. We stayed in a Manor Queen room for two nights. First off, our room was clean and well appointed. The room was smaller than most regular hotel rooms, but that wasn't a problem for my wife and I. The second thing is that our room was really warm, almost 78 degrees...I would give this place 1000 stars just for that. The one thing that was odd was we never saw the hotel staff. Rooms have coded door locks and and our information was waiting for us when we arrived and even when we came and left we never saw the hotel staff. They are on site and can be reached by text or phone which is nice. The grab and go style continental breakfast was great and in fact they have fruit, coffee, muffins, etc all day long which is great. The only negative with our room was that our upstairs neighbors were up at 3 am and the creaky floor woke us up. We don't have many reasons to come to Hillsboro, but we might find some reasons just so we can stay at The Orenco. read more

i have come to the Orenco for multiple years and always find the rooms fresh and inviting. I stayed in there "Loft" this time, a one bed king but with a down stairs living/kitchen & entrance floor. Great to entertain, sit on the small veranda and check out local residents going about there work or dinner or exercising....a cool community vibe. I will say that its not for everyone, depending on yoru spirit of adventure and learning there check-in process - but having all the treats and appliances in the area to have snacks when i want one is nice. like being home:-) Happy Lodging read more

If you are traveling to the Beaverton-Hillsboro area, you really must stay at The Orenco! I have stayed with them now nearly a dozen times and I guess it is finally appropriate to share the goodness I have found with others. (Although, this may mean that I start discovering them to be sold out when I travel.) The Orenco is my home away from home. Actually, it is what I wish my home was like when I am home. It is clean, organized, and nicely decorated. It has everything I need: A fantastic bed, great bathroom, nice desk for work, great books on the shelf, large screen plasma TV with DVD player, free DVDs to watch, free books to read, free cofee and water, and even some fruit and pastries in the morning. And when I am there for extended periods of time I even get free access to 24 hour fitness. Wow! What else could someone ask for? The price is perfect, the area is perfect, the comforts are perfect. Seriously, last time I was there I took photographs of the room for decorating reference when I move to my new location and want to do something similar in my new place. read more

The ease of the booking, the great customer service I experienced as I had several questions via email. They were very responsive and helpful. The accommodations were fantastic! My husband and I booked Jacuzzi room C4 for the night before and night of our wedding at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in October. The staff were super helpful with all of my questions about the space, and they allowed us to use their meeting room for the groom and groomsmen to get ready- so that way our photographer could switch between the men in the meeting space, and the women who were getting ready in our hotel room. They were so warm, friendly and accommodating to all of our requests and they even left a cute 'just married' sign on our room door to surprise us when we returned from our wedding. The room is great, well decorated, very spacious with a huge bathroom and walk in closet. The bed was very comfortable, and I am really picky about beds so that is saying a lot coming from me. They have several different breakfast options like fruit, granola bars, bagels and cream cheese, etc, which we were thankful they had available. There is no microwave in the room, but there is one available downstairs in the main lobby. Overall we would absolutely recommend the Orenco to anyone, especially if you are getting married at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse and are looking for an awesome place to stay for your wedding. This place is super cute. I love how it's tucked away in the cozy Orenco Station community. There are lots of restauraunts and nearby places to visit. I am staying here while my condo is being remodeled. This is a wonderful place to stay. It is quiet, peaceful, and well appointed. This is NOT the motel 6 cookie cutter clone that you will find else where. I have been staying in other hotels for two weeks prior to moving to this one. Let me first start by saying that were it not for the address on the front of the building we would have walked right past The Orenco. It is situated between townhomes. The check in was interesting as it is all done electronically. The décor is very warm and inviting. I was pleasantly surprised with our room. It included a moveable flat screen, complete working kitchen, patio, and many other upgrades. The location is fantastic as you don't need a car. Almost everything you need is within a short walk. This hotel is definitely a great find. I can't wait to stay again! read more

My room is quaint and cozy. Beautiful surroundings! I stayed here by myself and felt very safe. Nice continental breakfast and good coffee. Beautiful building and nice amenities, I will be back! Lovely small hotel and a great location in a residential neighborhood with a park and clean streets and businesses to meander. Slightly concerned about the security of leaving an envelope with room and door codes at the front door for anybody to access. It's only a matter of time before a thief figures this out. Love feeling like I'm staying at a relative's guest room. Cozy, quaint rooms, but obviously converted from residential to hotel (space heaters/air conditioners). I'd definitely stay again. Nice room, but artwork and furnishings are somewhat grandmotherly. Prefer a hipper more modern vibe, but that's just me. Great to have a collection of teas and some coffee, muffins, fruit, granola bars, oatmeal, popcorn available during your stay. It's like a bed and breakfast without having to have breakfast with a bunch of strangers. Never quite sure how old muffins and bagels are though since they're just wrapped in plastic wrap. Would have preferred creamer other than "French Vanilla" to choose from. Room TV on/off didn't work. Had to unplug TV and plug back in to get it to turn on (housekeeper showed me how to do it on 2nd day). light bulb in chandelier not replaced during 4-night stay. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Never saw anybody other than a few other guests and the housekeeper. Loved that a washer/dryer was available and LOVE that they accept dogs. Hidden Gem. We have stayed at the Orenco multiple times. Without question...when in the area, that's the go to place for us! Recently...we booked three rooms. My husband and I, my adult son, and my parents. ....and my mom is picky! ;) AMENITIES: Tastefully decorated. Clean. Quiet. Very comfortable mattresses and bedding. Keyless entry. PRICING: Is right! We still think...This place is a serious deal! LOCATION: GREAT location. Great restaurants, a brewery, and train depot all in walking distance. Nice safe area. A beautiful neighborhood to run or walk. Farmer's Market on Sunday mornings just out the back door. Nice city park is a stone's throw. LOBBY and SERVICE: Never ending supply of York Peppermint Patties. :) Snacks / Coffee / Continental breakfast always available. Keurig's in the rooms and lobby. Mark, Jeff and staff make sure you are HAPPY! They went out of there way to get a my parents a room in Portland as they needed to be close to the airport the last night in town. Service with a smile. We went to Hillsboro, OR for our nieces wedding. What a beautiful town and surrounding areas! The Orenco was also really, really nice. It's a little pricey but well worth it. The room is stocked with all the small appliances you need, really good coffee and really good tea. The bed was a little on the hard side for me but still pretty comfy. I was really impressed with how quiet it was. We had sort-of a basement room but we got very little noise from the neighbors above or below. We also had a really cute little sitting patio outside. Great place to have our morning coffee and tea. Also, great location. Very nice restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend the Petite Provence for breakfast. Super cute place and fantastic food! read more
