I first want to say, over the years I've had consistent results that left me pleased. But my last couple of visits will be my last. During a leave of absence , I saw a different hairstylist (a level 2) stylist for a cut, and balayage. During the consult, the stylist seemed confident about being able to help me achieve what I wanted. Which was more than reasonable and should've been able to be achieved because frankly it was just like a caramel balayage, nothing crazy. I did not feel that my layers were adequately trimmed. They were not even and my hair felt rough ... my hair looked healthier before the haircut. The balayage technique was not actually even applied. The stylist performed a partial. I went in with level five hair and still came out with level five hair after being in foils for a couple of hours which never happens. I'm always able to get great results with lightning my hair. I left feeling extremely disappointed. When my husband came home, he automatically just said " oh, did you cancel your hair appointment? I thought you were going to the salon today?!" And I had to explain that I did, but he said it looks like nothing had been done. I did reach out a week later, a master stylist reached out to me to fix my hair. Ultimately in the end, I know that the stylist did all they could with what they had to work with to make it look decent. The "fix" was just as disappointing. I have literally spent my entire summer trying to get my hair to heal from this experience. And between the cut and color I spent a lot of my hard earned money to not enjoy the results or frankly the experience. This all happened a couple months ago back in June. I wasn't sure about writing a review, but after taking some time to think, I thought it would be best to let everyone know. Also, I'm not sure if they started using different hair color, but their toner washed out really quickly. Like after one wash. I've always enjoyed most of the stylists here, but if you're gonna spend the money here, really do your research on reviews and book accordingly.- I highly recommend Crystal! I just moved in to town and it was challenging to find a salon that charges for bang trim for new clients. I love that Lacey gave me tips on how to style my bangs and what products to use. I'm new to bangs so it has been a journey. The whole staff was very warm and welcoming, from greeting and checking me in, checking my big fluffy coat, offering drinks, and checking out. I don't usually leave reviews, but after being a client at Moda Salon for over 3 years, I feel like I should share my experience. I always book my appointments in advance, so I really value consistency and communication. At my most recent appointment, I got a call about an hour before letting me know the stylist I had booked with was unavailable because of a family emergency. I completely understand that emergencies happen, but this has happened to me more than a few times over the years, and it was not always a family emergency. I still went in. They were able to do my all-over color and trim my bangs, but I left feeling really disappointed. My hair was left wet, and my bangs weren't styled until I asked. For a service that cost $250, I expected to leave looking and feeling more put together. I asked my family if it looked like I had gone to the hairdresser and they all said: not really. What made this more frustrating is that it wasn't a one-time issue. Over the years, I've also had last-minute schedule changes, been asked to switch salon locations after booking, had appointments changed to a different stylist, had a hairdryer dropped on my head and felt like I didn't just drop $200+ on a service. There have been multiple times where the service just didn't feel consistent with the price. I do want to say that not everyone here has given me a bad experience. Crystal has always been reliable, consistent, and very good at what she does. Diana, the esthetician, is also excellent. I'm leaving this review because I think consistency and client experience really matter. I went to Leah for years, she's no longer there so I made an appointment with Claire, but because of some scheduling stuff, Lace did my cut and had someone else wash and do parts. She did a nice job, and everyone was really sweet. I am pretty easygoing, and the atmosphere is casual (staff kids and family are there), which is fine with me because the stylists really focus and listen well. That's what counts- I don't need a smokescreen of looking overly fancy, then getting a cut that's terrible. The wash process and products are excellent, the place is clean and well decorated, and the staff is sweet and polite. They're really great. They have products for sale but aren't pushy on the upsell, which was really nice. I'll definitely return here- I will likely push to have the appointment with the person I schedule with (due to prices and of course skill levels, I don't wish to be passed around regularly) but I truly believe this was a one off, and they gave me a higher level stylist but charged for the level I booked with. Scheduled a cut with Lacey and found the experience to be just ok. Nothing bad but nothing stand out or noteworthy either. For $100 and a Level 5 stylist I'd expect some advanced cutting techniques and better blending of layers. You can tell a good haircut by how it grows out and this one was not blended well at all. I ended up going back to my regular stylist after my cut at Moda. read more

Customer service : front girl friendly and inviting. Service requested a fail though:( . I asked for attention to evening out color and gray hair. Seemed the hair colorist understood. Sorry but the worst experience, she said she would put color gloss , second visit highlights. She put the gloss color in I'm no expert but seemed like gloss would not cover grey but I let her proceed. I don't like to micro manage experts. She left me with my head in the sink for 15 minutes. , very uncomfortable 15 minutes, this is the first time at this solon so I was uncomfortable to leave my purse in front that long as well. She then cut my hair. Hair cut was no different than super cuts. She blew dried my hair and at the end seems stiff and dry. At a minimum my hair should be glossy I thought. Left disappointed. Washed my hair next morning, lots of hair color in the shower, no wonder my hair was stiff when she styled it. Grey was not covered. Worst experience ever after spending $150. TL;DR: Extremely misleading pricing, clothing was damaged in during highlighting process I had a partial foil highlight, no cut, booked online via their website with the owner, Lacey. The quoted cost for this service was $145, up from $130 a few months ago. When I was checked out by another member of staff they charged me $240, a $95 upcharge to add toner and dry/flatiron my hair, services that were provided for the $130 charge previously and have always been included with highlights at other salons. I asked to speak to Lacey about it at check out, instead the stylist checking me out spoke to her, returning telling me there was no flexibility in this upcharge, as Lacey blanked me and moved on to her next client. I like the color but overall the appointment felt rushed due to other clients waiting for my stylist while my color was processing (I was early for my appointment) and at the end of my appointment. I left with damp hair at the back, not flat ironed thoroughly (this was particularly frustrating given I was paying extra for these services), after drying was partially carried out by a junior assistant despite me paying for the top tier stylist. There was no communication about the upcharge being added at any point during appointment reconfirming, when the salon adjusted my appointment time or during my appointment itself. The following day I found out my clothing had been bleached during the appointment. I contacting Lacey by text with the photo but was not responded to. I followed up with a polite call to the salon to talk with her about it, instead was shouted at and the phone was slammed down. If the cost of the service you are receiving matters to you be sure to double check before you sit down sit in the chair. If not, you may end up paying 66% more than you planned to like I reluctantly ended up doing. read more

I had my hair done here by the owner Lacey and hate to say I'm SO disappointed. I spent a total of 3.5 hours here and spent over $370 to have my hair look boring and one toned. She rushed the balayage process in less than 30 minutes (that should tell you something when my hair is down to my butt). And I sat in the chair for 1.5 hours with bleach in my hair as she helped another customer!! I've NEVER had a hair stylist help another customer while doing my hair. After that I sat with toner in my hair for Max 15 minutes which thus made my hair look now yellow/burnt orange. She rushed through blow drying my hair and did not offer to style it at all. She also blow dried my hair while not facing the mirror so I never knew what my hair looked like. I could tell she rushed through the entire appointment and didn't care at all about my experience or how I liked my hair. I was essentially pushed right out of there after my hair was barely done blow drying, poofy hair and was told "someone else will take care of your payment". I literally cried about my hair. TL;DR: The only word that can describe this place is yikes. Blowouts are marked as $45 on their website/booking site but they ripped us off and charged us $70(!!!!) for mediocre blowouts because they added curls. My friend and I needed last minute blowout appointments for a friend's wedding we were BMs for and we were relieved to find that this place had availability. Turns out, there was a reason why we were able to secure last minute appointments. The good - my stylist was really nice. But that's pretty much about it. I asked for beachy waves with straight ends and ended up with tight curls without straight endsThat's fine, seeing as curls loosen throughout the day but it looked nothing like the photos I showed her and literally 5 minutes after leaving the salon, parts of my hair turned into a frizzy mess (my hair holds curls incredibly well - when I do my own hair, I run the curling iron super quickly through and it takes me about 10 minutes to get the perfect beachy waves, and I don't need to use any kind of holding spray for the waves to last until I shampoo my hair). Whatever products they use at this salon reeked and gave me a headache. The messed up part was that it states that it's $45 for a blowout. I was charged $70....because I got curls. There is absolutely no mention of an up-charge for curls on their website OR by the stylist, nor have I ever heard of a salon doing that! But because we were running late because the appointment took eons, I didn't have time to throw a fit about this huge price difference. So after tipping, I ended up paying $84 for a mediocre blowout that I ended up having to redo (my friend's hair was even worse - her stylist literally didn't know how to use a curling iron... And I had to redo my friend's hair, too), the same price I would have paid at a higher end salon with stylists with better skills (and better smelling products!). read more

I have very long hair and Lacey usually does the normal cut, layers and chops off the dead ends. But today was different, I wanted bangs. Lacey gave me bangs but the most awful bangs I've ever had. It literally looks like I cut my own bangs. I left the salon hoping it was all in my head but I kept looking at them and it was just awful. I called the salon to let them know I didn't like them and I wanted them fixed. The receptionist was nice and said that Lacey couldn't do it that day but the next. I told her that wasn't possible and she said another stylist could fix it. When I arrived I told the receptionist that my hair wasn't even and I needed it fixed. She said that I might have to come in later because they didn't have time. Lacey came out and started to check my hair. Not once did she empathize or apologize. She was defensive and acted as if I didn't know how a haircut should look. I know my hair and how a decent haircut should look. She said there was nothing wrong with my bangs. (Check picture below) I then proceeded to show her a section she cut and asked why would she cut this piece of hair? (View picture below to understand why) She said she didn't cut it. I have not had a haircut in six months prior to this appointment, and she's the only person who's been cutting my hair for the past couple of years. When I met Lacey that day, I had no bangs. I'm beyond upset and it's clear to me that Lacey doesn't care about her clients. I will no longer be doing business with her and I promise you that all my friends and family members will know not to come to this awful salon. One more thing to add.. Lacey didn't care if I left as a happy or upset customer, she just wanted me out of the salon. read more

I booked an appointment 2 months early so I was excited for awhole two months to go from black boxed dye to medium brown. I asked for a "level 4" stylist thinking that she'll do everything right but she didn't. I left the salon feeling horrible about my hair and regretting going there. She started the bottom of my hair by bleaching to get rid of the black but she stopped applying the bleach halfway and didn't apply all the way up to my head but I was giving her the benefit of the doubt and thought she knows what she's doing but that's where she fucked up my hair. When she rinsed off the bleach, she added bleach just on my head like? I was still giving her the benefit of the doubt. Then it was coloring time and when that washed off only my head was brown and the bottom half was brown and the middle of my hair was black! I asked her to fix the middle part and she charged me extra for bleaching the middle part. After the bleach she added color again to blend it and that also charged me extra. I spent $600 and after the salon I spent $200 on hair products to fix my hair myself. Guys please don't go to this salon they will purposely mess up to charge you extra, they tricked me. I should've listened to the reviews but I was stupid. First to last pictures are the processes at the salon cause I recorded everything and I have a before and after picture when I fixed my own hair. (Also when my mom called them just to ask some questions they told her to stop harrassing them when she wasn't. Which is just hell no I don't want anyone to speak to my mom like that) read more

A late post....I went to this salon for the first time and wanted to get my hair done before heading back home out of state. I sent a message via Yelp, got a quick response and call from Stacy. She was able to get me in with Tabitha the next morning on such short notice. Once at the salon, they take Covid precautions and made sure you're good before receiving service. Tabitha was very personable, friendly, and gentle with my hair. She listened to what I wanted with the balayage, explained what she planned to do and delivered! I love the color. It's always a risk to find a new hairdresser, especially last minute, but I got excellent service here with Tabitha and I highly recommend her. If I'm in town again, I would go back! I've been going to Moda for a couple of years, with typically good results. But after today I am done. I walked in and the salon was packed. I noticed only about half the people were wearing face coverings, including the employees! I asked them how this could be, because the mandate to wear face coverings in indoor public places is still in effect. They said that the owners told them masks were optional. I immediately cancelled my appointment. I cannot give my money to a business where the salon owner thinks they can override a governor's order. I was iffy about the owner already because she cut/colored my hair a few years ago and ended up adding on all sorts of "recommended" things, without letting me know my bill would add up to over $450 (typically I spend $250). I am really disappointed in Moda and Pacific Artistry. I really wanted them to be as professional and as talented as their other clients describe them as. When I was ready to sign a contract to book both the trial run and the wedding day, they never got back to me with a contract. I contacted them twice about the contract and waited weeks between each email. I finally called the studio in an attempt to book the trial. The receptionist took my information and had the owner email me the booking site. The receptionist confirmed availability for my wedding date. I was disappointed when the trial was $50 more than what I was quoted on my original inquiry. When I checked into the salon, Moda Organic Salon - which is owned by the same person, I was greeted by chaos: loud music, kids running around, and no one at the receptionist desk. My appointment started 45 min late. My stylist, the owner, rushed through my hair styling and told me how busy she was. She even reported off that her daughter said, "I'm really good at swimming and you're really good at working." My hair style looked nothing like the pictures I provided. My bun didn't look full and the curls fell out of the bun after an hour of walking around. The airbrush makeup looked natural with the exception of blotchy areas on my cheeks, which she assured me it was from a gentle peel I did a few days before. Lacey had me email her all the details for my day of services and assured me that she'd send me a contract afterwards. I paid $250 for my trial, sent her all my details, and reached out multiple times about a contract. I never heard back from her. That's $250, about 2 hours in a salon, and 2 hours of commuting wasted over sub par service. Overall, the owner Pacific Artistry and Moda Organic Salon simply lacks the professionalism and communication skills any bride deserves. There are hundreds of wedding day styling artists out there and unfortunately some are unprofessional and some are scam artists... I really do feel like this company fits right in that category. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my cut October 11. At first I thought it looked okay until I got home to do my own styling and saw lots unevenness. I honestly could tell the stylist wasn't comfortable doing my cut I should have walked out once my intuition told me this stylist wasn't for me but I wanted to give them a chance. Needless to say two weeks later when I went to my hometown I had my regular girl fix my hair up. For the price of the cut it really isn't fair. Almost 100$ for a very choppy uneven cut that ultimately had to be fixed elsewhere ...if someone isn't comfortable with a specific style it would be best to express that to the client it was obvious in the quality of my cut they were not. (LONG DETAILED REVIEW) I had really high hopes for this salon specially since I don't really trust anyone else with my hair but me when it comes to coloring. Long story short, I had some very blunt lines from my friend trying to bleach my hair and realized I couldn't fix it. I looked up Moda on yelp and was willing to schedule an appointment with me ASAP. The owner replied within 5 mins. In the middle of the night after closing which I appreciated. I told the owner my concerns with the hair and she replied that I can consult with my stylist on my appt. day The day of, I met Erica who was my stylist. She took a look at my hair and listened to my requests. The over all goal was to stay ashy blonde and GET RID OF ANY ORANGE OR BRASSINESS AND BLUNT LINES. That was my greatest concern. I also told her I was trying to go blonde so I can eventually do a black to grey ombré. She told me that my hair was salvageable and that we can even do some silver/grey. She gave me a quote which I thought was honestly way too pricey but knowing this salon seemed on the pricier side, I went with it. Everything was honestly great. She was super nice, very polite and I felt like for once, someone was honest about my hair and knew exactly what to do. After the bleaching, she washed my hair out and I already knew that way hair was not light enough and was too orange. I asked her if she was gonna use a toner before we started and she said she will use a color that will turn my hair to a dark silver/grey all the while getting rid of the brasiness. Again, she was very enthusiastic about this color treatment saying I won't need a toner so I went along with it. She kept reassuring me "it'll be a pretty black to grey to silver ombré" and "it'll give your hair dimension". After she put the color on, my hair started to neutralize which I liked. We kept it on for about 20 mins. She came back, looked at my hair and said "hmmmm. Your hair isn't turning silver like I expected. But whatever color it'll be I promise it'll be nice". That was a bummer for me but all I wanted was to get rid of the orange so at that point I could care less about the grey and silver. We washed the color out and she said "ohhhh it's so pretty!" while she was washing my hair. I was excited to see the final result. After drying it, she turned me around, I looked at the mirror and was heartbroken. I had some pink undertones in my hair (from the color but has washed off after a week), and in the sunlight, the top of my head was still giving off some orange. I was running late for work and didn't want to complain since she had a customer waiting. Fast forward to a week now: I was sectioning my hair and saw that there were STILL blunt lines everywhere in the back which is what I asked to get rid of. I became way more disappointed with the bleach and color at this point and couldn't believe I spent $300 (hair trim included). Although Erika did do a good job of blending my roots, Im so disappointed with the outcome. My hair still has orange tones and worst of all, there are still blunt lines EVERY WHERE. A lot of people say they like my hair and it's not as bad as when it was butchered the first time but I don't think I will be coming back to Moda after my experience. I still have yet to find a stylist that will match the results they will tell me. In the mean time, I'll go back to dying my own hair. read more
