I have been coming to Elements Massage in Oceanside for awhile, and have been a member on/off for years. They make it very difficult to book a massage and once booked they call you an 1 hour before, to state a medical emergency with the therapist and the massage needs to be rescheduled. This has happened more than once. They need to train their staff; as they are rude and unprofessional. Also, get more reliable therapists! I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I didn't have an issue for the longest time. I was on a month to month membership and tried suspending my account to catch up on massages. I was told policy was I could not use massages while my account was suspended. Decided to terminate and according to that I would still get charged for another month and then only had 60 days to use massages. This wouldn't have bothered me if I didn't have about 7 massages to catch up on in 60 days keep in mind I maybe get a massage once a month...the easiest thing to do was get them put on gift cards to avoid an expiration on them. There was a lack of knowledge when I had called on the phone regarding details. Just a frustrating situation especially since it seems like front desk did not know what they were talking about. I now see Bettina as frequently as I can for prenatal massage. I started at a 60 minute membership and then upgraded to a 90 minute as well. This is the most relief from pregnancy pain I can find - support belts, PT, and warm compress are nothing compared to these massages! I come in in constant lingering pain and leave with marshmallow legs every time. Bettina is so attentive to my comfort and areas of need. The front desk is so accommodating, making sure I get the best appointments and deals on my membership! Jordan was beyond horrible. I had a one hour deep tissue with her. She came and got me 3 minutes late then stopped the massage ten minutes early! She proceeded to then come back in the room. STAND IN FRONT OF THE DOOR. And tell me for ten minutes how I should stretch. What an absolute horrible experience. I discovered Elements Massage on Groupon. It had been a long time since I had visited the Groupon site, but it caught my attention when I received an email with a coupon for $20 off. I knew I needed massage and I'm also new to the Oceanside area so I wanted to discover new places. I purchased the Groupon for a 90 minute customized massage Elements Massage marked down from $144 to $84 with my coupon I only paid $64. Talk about a deal! When it came time to redeeming my Groupon, I had about three months before it expired, I was able to make my appointment over the phone. Since I was a new customer, they did ask me quite a bit of information as well as take my credit card number down in case I canceled less than 24 hours outside of my appointment, I believe they said I would've been charged half of what the massage would cost. I also let them know over the phone that I had a Groupon. They had asked me how much I spent on the Groupon and I told them all about the coupon. Of course, I had every intention on tipping on the full price. I never got a text or notification ahead of time as a reminder, but I didn't need it. It was in my calendar and I was very much looking forward to it. Upon arrival, there was a advertising board outside that read "customize your massage with a CBD oil add on." On the day of my massage I was in such excruciating pain from sleeping poorly, stiff neck, etc. I thought a CBD oil add on would be just what the doctor ordered. I signed in and they were able to find my Groupon in their system without me having to pull it up which was nice. They offered me water and asked me if I needed to use the restroom before my appointment which I said "yes." They gave me a clipboard with a few pieces of paper to fill out so that my massage therapist could know exactly what areas to focus on and if she should refrain from any areas of injury. I was happy to fill that information out since it was a customized massage. My massage therapist name is Paige. She was absolutely wonderful. It was one of those massages that was uncomfortable and painful the entire time because I told Paige my issues and expressed to her that I did not mind being in pain, it was more important to me that we worked out all the kinks, knots, and tightness in and around my muscles and neck. I'm an athlete so my muscles are very tight and I knew it would take a very strong massage therapist to get through it. Paige was a champ. I could feel her getting those knots out right away. I told her I would let her know if it was too painful, but I never had to. She even complimented me and let me know that I could handle a lot of pain! We chatted the entire 90 minutes and she offered me tons of great advice. It made me pay less attention to the pain. She was such an easy conversationalist that I had no idea that our 90 minutes was up, when the massage eventually ended. She reminded me to stay hydrated and that I might feel a little bit woozy since the toxins were releasing from my system. On the way out, I was given a water bottle and everyone from the front desk was so kind. I spent an extra $25 on the CBD oil add in. I thought it might have some kind of cooling affect, but it was more of a time release oil so I felt it sink in a little bit later in the day. I felt very relaxed and so much better than when I came there. I got such an incredible deal that I was so happy. I enjoyed my experience here and shout out to Paige for being such an all-star. She did an incredible job and it must be very difficult to apply such pressure for 90 minutes straight. You can also upgrade your massage by adding scented oils as well. That was tempting for me but I thought I would start with just the CBD oil. I am looking forward to booking another appointment at Elements Massage which comes highly recommended by yours truly. I had been going to the San Marcos location for almost a year before they closed due to COVID-19. My experience with Elements was so positive, though, that I was happy to hear that my therapist (Maria) had decided to move to this location! What sets the Elements therapists apart from similarly priced places is the detailed notes and care the therapists have for each customer. I don't have to remind Maria each time I go in about previous injuries, and she asks how previous techniques she tried had me feeling for the weeks afterwards. Each time, I leave with a card listing the stretches she recommends for my problem areas, and she recommends other therapists who would be a good fit if I can't get scheduled with her. As we're still in need of safety precautions for COVID-19, I want to say that Elements is one of the few places I go other than doctors appointments or the grocery store because of how safe I feel. Temperatures are taken before you can enter, social distancing procedures are followed in the lobby, masks are worn by customers and all staff the entire time, and there is plenty of hand sanitizer available. Had a massage planned today and things popped off at my husbands work. My husband was going to watch my 5 month old while I go. Out of all the days it could have popped off OF COURSE it's today. Still had to pay $45 for last minute cancelation. Pissed is an understatement. BEWARE! :If your purchasing a gift card for a loved one online, they are sold through a 3rd party vendor and do not have any control with refunds purchased online. Back in September was my birthday I was living in Oceanside at that time my friend who lives in another state thought it would be nice to purchase a gift card online which the idea was nice of her, but 3 weeks after my birthday I had to move out of the state due to a family emergency. It's been months now that I haven't used the 100$ gift card I called and spoke to a manager who had the nerve to ask me why didn't I make time to go get a massage prior to having to move out of the state. I'm SORRY, I lost it with her because 1. I stooped to her level the entire time she was being very sassy with a nonchalant attitude and 2. I have 3 kids and going to get a massage just wasn't on my priority list at the time. If I wouldn't have had to move "again" due to a family emergency I would have scheduled something when my husband got home from work to go get this gift my friend purchased for me. They were not willing to refund my friend her money who bought the gift card because it wasn't purchased in store but yet my friend lives in another state? My friend has been robbed by this so called 3rd party vendor that sells the gift cards online. So if purchasing online don't do it unless you go into store and buy gift card. By the way the owner nor manager had no sympathy for my situation so to me that says a lot about this establishment. (my complaint isn't about the massages I never got to experience it's about this so called 3rd party gift card vendor) I'm very aware of giving away my gift that was purchased for me to someone else because your manager repeated herself over and over and I stated several times I was alone in California didn't know anyone!! I am a member of the wellness program at elements massage and I am a very satisfied customer. First off, the facility is very clean and professional which is extremely important anyplace you're going to get nude! As a nanny, my body is constantly achey and joining their membership program has been beneficial to my overall health. Being a member is $79/month and you are able to use your massage at any point (you can even save them up). I have seen a number of their therapists and they are all great- I recently found "my person" who's name I shall not release for selfish reasons. They offer 1 hour, 90 minutes, and 2 hour sessions. They also have hot stones and aromatherapy; and word on the street is they are getting CBD oil. Their customer service is great as well; i have been put on a waitlist for an appointment if a cancellation occurs for an opportunity to be seen. They also made a temporary adjustment to my account based on a financial issue on my end so that I could continue to keep my membership. Service here has been hit or miss. I've been about 5 times total and after my visit Saturday I felt a review was needed. My massage therapist did a fine job, however she did not listen to me when She asked where she should focus her time. She also started 10 minutes late so my 60 hour massage was really only 50 minutes, and a good 20 of that was focused on areas I told her not to do. I probably won't be going back as $119 is steep for a one hour massage that doesn't leave the customer relaxed when they leave. read more

This is a terrible company. The masseuse Jackie did a fine job, I wish I could rate her separately since she was solid, but the company has ridiculous policies and I would not recommend going here. The parking lot was packed due to it being in a big confusing shopping center centered by Target on a Saturday at Christmas time with large trucks blocking a good portion of the parking lot due to a e recycling campaign in front of the building so I was a few minutes late (9 or 10 min). I was told when I arrived that I would have to pay for the full hour but likely would receive a 30 minute massage. So not only is Elements more expensive than many private places, but they dont have any grace period or the understanding of even a place like massage envy. Fortunately Jackie the masseuse agreed with the absurdity of the situation and was able to stay late, but if someone had been after me this would not have been the case due to "company policy" . Private masseuses are cheaper, nicer and more flexible. Dont go to the chain. Go anywhere else. As for the massage, good probably for a first time prenatal massage. Jackie was gentle and dare I say overly respectful which I imagine most people would appreciate, but I personally am not shy and like deeper massages, even prenatally. My only reasons for the two stars, are the pricing and length of actual massage time. Let me explain... My husband bought me a gift card for my birthday, and because I paid with the gift card...I had to pay $30 extra (not including tip) than I would have had to IF I would have paid with card or cash. In addition, they schedule their appointments right on top of each other. So for example, I scheduled and hour long massage for 9am. I arrived at 845am to complete paperwork. By the time I went back, talked to the therapist, got undressed, and got on the table...it was 9:15 when she actually started. She stopped at 9:55 to accommodate for her 10am appt. (again, not Paige's fault at all. She was amazing). So all in all, I paid $130 for a 40 minute massage. Not that Paige wasn't worth it...I can just go other places and requal quality, an actual full hour of massage, but at a fraction of the price. Michael, Thank you for the replies. Since you took the time to delete your original comment and post a new and updated one, I thought I'd return the favor of updating my review as well. So I didn't ask for a receipt, but from what I can recall my total was in fact $99 (because my husband bought the gift card BEFORE the price for them increased to $109.) However, the total I quoted in the original review, was including tip. (Again, I didn't ask for a receipt, and I don't remember the exact tip amount, but I know it was over $20, since my two options on the screen for tip percentage, were based on the current $109 gift card price) Like I said, Paige was amazing. I'm not going to reduce her tip due to the fact that her schedule has been booked with absolutely no time allotted for her clients to undress and redress, much less, for talk to her clients. Let me give you an example... My 60 minute appointment was supposed to start at 9am. Her next client's 60 minute massage started at 10am. Common sense (and the simple concept of time) says that it is impossible for Paige to understand the clients needs/expectations...for the client to undress...for her to deliver the full 60 minutes that the client has paid for...then client to have the opportunity to ask any questions, and get dressed. All in all, I was happy with my service. Your front desk staff and massage therapists seem to be very professional and polite. It all comes down to the "member" and "non-member" fees, in addition to the extra money I had to pay because my husband bought me a gift card, therefore, pre-paying for my appointment. Versus...if I would have paid with my credit or debit card, I would have automatically gotten the "member" price, regardless of actually even being a member. At the end of the day, it just personally comes across as an extra way to get additional money from potentially returning customers. But hey....it's your business....run it as you see appropriate. Best massage I've had in years. Most massages feel good during the hour you get them, but the results fade quickly. This massage was deep and meant business, and I expect the results to last for days. In just an hour, my masseuse, Heather, began to expertly undo problems that have been building up for years, but that have been only superficially addressed by other therapists. Heather carefully listened to my concerns about a month-long headache, and then got to work relieving the tension in my neck, shoulders, and feet. She had a very deep and intuitive touch, and clearly possessed a strong understanding of anatomy. She accomplished a lot in just an hour. Excited about finding such a great therapist, I tried to book another appointment before leaving town in 2 days, but I had to settle for the waiting list. Other things I appreciated about Elements: friendly, helpful staff; snacks in the waiting area, bottled water and chocolate post-massage (priorities), very clean massage room and restroom, and exit slip that names trouble spots and suggestions for future work. I called and set up a same day appointment last Monday. I was so excited to come, as I had heard great things. The staff was super friendly and the massage itself was great. Tara was super attentive to my needs and I appreciated that. HOWEVER, I only got a 45 minute massage when I paid for a 60 minute massage. This was extremely disappointing, as this place is more expensive than other places in the area. I don't mind spending more money for a quality massage, but I do mind paying for a service I did not receive. I can pay less money for a good massage down the street and get my full 60 minutes.
