I never liked getting massages, that was until I got a massage as a gift and received one of the most relaxing and tranquil experiences I've ever had. My massage therapist was Dee and whenever I feel like I'm sore and need some me-time I always come back and see her. She is very professional and great at getting all my knots out; I even fell asleep the first time she massaged me! (Talk about being relaxed). If you want a great experience I definitely recommend setting up an appointment with Dee. The Massage was alright, the service attitude is pretty bad. They make you sign contract with out explaining anything to you, so please be very careful!! If you're late for appointments, don't except they'll call you or anything, you'll just be charged for 45 buck late cancelation fee. If you need to cancel the membership, they will force you to pay an extra month before cancelation. Updated July 26: Elements massage reached out to me and refunded the $45 late cancellation fee which I really appreciated. There is a note from them (you can see their response about their booking systems being upgraded) - I've shared feedback about getting reminders about doctors notes. Bumping up a star since I wasn't really expecting a customer service response and this was a pleasant surprise. They've offered me another massage but honestly scheduling this one was so hard (I get it, just one prenatal therapist) that I think I'll probably come back if at all once I am postpartum. Thanks though Elements (non sarcastically), hope you can hire more prenatal therapists and that the booking systems can be updated too to send clients reminders about doctors notes! -------- Mainly for prenatal, and want to note that I didn't actually get a massage though I really tried. First off, it's really hard to get an appointment for a prenatal massage as they apparently have only 1 massage therapist who can handle prenatal appointment. I finally managed to get an appointment one month out and was told about needing a doctors note post 30 weeks. Fair enough, but want to note that other massage places I go to don't require it (I'm 32 weeks). I got a reminder email 2 days prior to the massage appointment, which neither mentioned the prenatal aspect nor the doctors note. You can see where this is going.. I forgot my doctors note. Managed to make it in time for my massage post a long work day, and after arranging for childcare for my older kid.. and was told I can't have the massage thanks to no doctors note. Oh and I get charged a $45 late fee. Thanks elements massage! Really made my day. I get it that I should've gotten a note.. but a reminder would have been nice. If you're looking for prenatal massages, look elsewhere. I've heard they are decent for other types of massages (hence the extra star), haven't tried myself. Such a nightmare getting an appointment and then their reminders/booking systems are sadly lacking. Luckily I have another massage place I go to, definitely pricier but much nicer, better customer service and easier to book. She dissected me with, seemingly, ease. She knocked out the knots, including ones I didn't know I had. She beat me up pretty good. I almost could feel the toxins leaving my body. Here's the story. I have been to this location a few times and had two different massage therapist. My first therapist was Bobby. He did a phenomenal job! My lower back was killing me from a golfing injury. I was in so much pain. I told Bobby about the injury and Bobby was on it! He made my back feel so much better. So I came back and saw Bobby a few more times and each time I was not disappointed. Thanks to him I was back out on the course in no time! My second therapist I had was Josh because Bobby wasn't available. Josh was really, really rough. The next day my body was broken. That was the worst massage I have ever had. I don't know how many times I said OUCH throughout our session!!! I mean I know I was tight but my god I thought massages were supposed to feel good. I even asked one of the ladies on the phone before scheduling how Josh was. Of course she said he was great, and that she had him before. So I trusted her input and gave him a try. I get that everyone is different when it comes to how they like to be massaged but that was just insanely painful!!! So I made my next appointment with Bobby and a day or two before my appointment I get a voicemail stating that Bobby was not going to be available. I called back to reschedule and got the businesses voicemail. I left a message stating that I got their message and that I wanted to reschedule my appointment for when Bobby was available. I DIDN'T GET A CALL BACK TO RESCHEDULE!!! It has been a couple months now and still no word. Turns out Bobby is no longer there which sucks! I'm scared to go back now. Overall, I'd go back but would ask for another massage therapist to see if I enjoy the massage more. I went here because I had a Spa Finder card and saw that they take Spa Finder. I got a 90 minute massage. As a first time member, I got a discount. I don't remember the exact price for non-first time, but mine came to $114 with the discount. Masseuse: I had Sam for my 90 minute deep tissue massage. Overall, he did a decent job. I told him my focus areas were my shoulders and hip. While he did a good job on those two areas, he sort of neglected everything else. This might have been my fault - maybe I should have said something, but I figured focus areas would be focused on, but that it would still be a full body. My feed didn't get a single rub. :/ Usually deep tissue means the massage is higher pressure, but I had to constantly tell him to add more pressure. Pros: - massage was decent (I've had worse) - Staff was friendly and efficient - pricing was average - appointment was easy to book - Their wellness program is a pretty good deal if you're someone who gets massages at least once month. Essentially, you just pay for a massage once a month at a lower price. Not worth it if you only get massages once in a while. (they weren't overly pushy about it) Cons: - massage was decent (I've had better) - I was in the first room to the left (which is right next to Nektar - the neighboring juice store). For the last hour of my massage - all I could hear were blenders. I would ask to not be in that room for future appointments. - They add 10-15 minutes for dress/undress/consultation with masseuse. I think this is a rip off. If I pay for a 90 minute massage, I'd rather get there early to do that, and then be massaged for 90 full minutes. read more

I enjoy massages but they were never anything I sought out with any regularity. In 2021, I decided with all the stress of the pandemic, a massage was much needed. I started booking in regular prenatal massages during my second trimester of pregnancy to try get ahead of aches and pains that come part and parcel - Takako quickly became my favourite in terms of technique and also her kind manner. She had a way of finding places I didn't even realize were stiff and sore and would also offer suggestions for exercises / stretches to perform at home. Given the more limited nature of prenatal massage, I look forward to returning again now that I've delivered! The facility as a whole is everything you'd want and expect: clean, calming ambiance, welcoming. Staff all wear masks which to this day is still an important consideration for me. Today I woke up and just wanted a massage. Nothing hurts really, but just a nice relaxing/de-stressing massage sounded wonderful. After browsing Yelp, I kind of just happened upon this place. I'm glad I did. Making an appointment was easy. The girl on the phone was friendly and very chipper. In no time, I had an appointment for the afternoon. Even when they had to call me back to correct something small, I was still left feelings happy. So 4pm rolls around and though I'm never late, I'm late. So guess what? I arrive at 4:02 and I quickly just fill out the forms. I wasn't given flack; I wasn't frowned at. They all smiled and were terrific. On in I went. The reception is modern, clean and nice. A hanging water feature was quite lovely. Then you go down a hallways to your room and though it is small, it is comfy. My massage was GREAT! I had Nicole and she was gentle with me and listened attentively when I was talking with her. In the end, they offer you a monthly thing to sign up for, I did! I figure, a massage a month for $69 is good. As I have a hard time finding massage places I like with a masseuse I really love - I'm in. Omg! I've had many many massages in my life, and the massage I receive from Julie blows them all away. I almost didn't want to mention her for fear she gets too booked up to get an appointment. She manages to find nearly every single muscle in my body and works them expertly. She's just amazing. I ask for medium pressure and it's perfect. In the past, there are areas I usually tell the massage therapist to skip or go light because they are sensitive to pressure, but with Julie, she makes sure to slowly work into them so I never feel the sensitivity. The other thing I like is the membership. For the same price I used to pay for a 90 minute massage I can now get a 2 hour massage. If you like to get monthly massages, the membership is the way to go. read more

I love this place. SO much. As a massage therapist, dancer, and as a resident of the Silicon Valley, I am-needless to say-physically all sorts of screwy. I like to get massages all over the place, but I know if I need some WORK, I can hit up a few people here to help me out. If you need relaxation, yet you want deep, detail oriented work, go see Bobby! He is super talented!! He has a way of getting your body to relax and handle the work that it needs-which is awesome. I need a slight warm up, I don't physically respond as well without a "hello" to what is about to be worked on. And dude is awesome with sports massage and related stretching. Bobby. Dang. That's what's up. Aurora is also ridiculously talented, with a great flow, excellent upper body, hip and glute work. If I am having an issue with hips and glutes, it is all about Aurora and Eddie. Eddie also has dance and gymnastic experience, so he knows about bodies with wear and tear and how to work with related injuries. My husband (engineer at Apple) has seen Eddie for focused arm work, and he LOVED him. Front desk staff is super friendly. I've checked in and out with Stacy, Melissa and Marjan and they are always welcoming and friendly. Fruity water! AHHHH, I love it! Plus you get chocolate! These guys are great! Decent massage. If I could afford it I would come here more often but I'm no CEO or senior engineer with a 3 master degree and a minor in art. I don't remember the name of the gentleman that gave me the deep tissue massage but he did a great job hitting those sweet spots around my back, shoulder and neck. The only complaints were that each time I told the masseur to apply more pressure he would do it for a couple a minute then go back to being too gentle. I understand each person varies but given this was my first time coming here I expect a darn good massage. Also, I felt a bit ripped off because not only did I start my session about 5-10 late, it ended 15 minutes before the hour. This definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I wasn't going to leave a tip but I know how hard these guys work (kinda) so I left a decent one and didn't look back. Aside from those issues, this place is very nice and clean. I might have considered coming back to this place but that first visit was very crucial and it didn't give me what I wanted and because of that, it prevented me from starting a membership. read more

Several great therapists here! Eddie gave the best prenatal massages, but unfortunately he's no longer there. Janessa became my go to therapist. I prefer deep tissue, and firm pressure and she's on point! She'll check in a couple times to make sure the pressure is just right, and asks if there are any spots you would like more work on before she finishes up. Grace, Jaclyn, Natalie and Bobby are also great. The front desk staff is also super friendly and helpful. I also love how they don't pressure you to sign up for their Wellness Program. And if you do decide to sign up, you only need a 30 day notice to cancel your membership - no 1 year contract bs. I had to cancel my membership because I was moving out of state, and they were able to cancel without the 30 days notice, which I really appreciated. I recently became a member at another location, and was told that you can now transfer your membership, which makes it even easier. One downside is that parking can be sometimes difficult because it's a busy center with a Trader Joes and several restaurants. I recommend trying to book your massage in the morning or after the lunch rush. They're also next door to the Nektar Juice Bar, so some rooms are less quiet from the blender noise. read more

My therapist was Eddy and he provided me a nice 80 min deep tissue, focused where I needed the most -- wrist, arms, legs and shoulder. He also gave me posture and stretching advices. Jing is quite simply the best massage therapist I've ever met. Elements won out in getting her to work there as I'm sure she could have her pick of the entire state. I had thought I had been receiving great massages in past years (Especially during Triathlon season, they're so niiiice!) but one visit with Jing pointed out the difference between your typical massage therapist and an actual skilled expert in the field. The only contrast I can think of is a grade school math teacher vis a vis a fourth year rings, fields, and groups, pure mathematics prof. Come padawan and learn from the master. No two massages with Jing are the same and she excels at working out tight spots you didn't know you had. From rock climbing induced forearm tension, to sore typing shoulders, to rock hard shins from running, Jing confidently fixes EVERYTHING. Honestly, visit Jing... your sore muscles deserve it! The other day I tagged along with my friend who was going in to get a massage. I wasn't planning on getting one myself but after walking into Elements I was sold. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and informative and they just made you feel relaxed from the moment you walk in. My massage was performed by Hannah and being that I can't really take a lot of pressure I was afraid I would walk out sore like I did when I went somewhere else but that wasn't the case. Hannah made sure to ask about my level of comfort and was able to give me a wonderful relaxing massage. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a clean, relaxing place to get a massage. Out of the pure laziness in my heart, I chose Elements because (1) had good reviews and (2) because it's 3 blocks from my house. Needless to say by the 5 stars up there ^, I was thrilled with my choice! I called in and booked an 80 min with Abraham. Showed up 10 mins before to fill out my paperwork, and then we got started. Abraham did a fantastic job focusing on the areas that needed the most attention (in my case right shoulder/neck and lower back), but I also asked for a general full-body which he did great at as well. I was incredibly surprised by his ability to quickly find all the little knots all over my back and shoulders and knead them out really well. He put a fantastic amount of pressure and he really fixed me up! On top of the massage, I got some good stretching pointers afterwards. Assuming I'm still in the area, I'll definitely become a regular here. read more

I've had many a massage, and the experiences range from amazing to awful. I walked into ETM and was immediately impressed- the decor is nice, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming. My therapist was Sarah, and she was great. She was very respectful, and made sure to check that the amount of pressure was okay. She really helped my problem areas. I will definitely be going back to ETM for my massage needs. You can join a membership to get discounted massage prices, and they give you info about it, but it's not pushy or cheesy. I travel a lot, and after many hours of long flight from Europe, I need to get unwind. I stumble upon Elements Massage at Sunnyvale after a meeting (and getting late). I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised by how effective it is. I went for a 55 minute massage, and I came out there felling fully recharged with a new body. The atmosphere is relaxing, but not overpowering (unlike some higher end SPA). Staffs are very attentive, and friendly, but most of all, the the therapist is very very good (Bobby). I have a really bad upper back, being a software engineer and inherently having a bad posture, my back/shoulder/neck becomes really sore time and again. So I have had massages in several places based on when I need one and who has an appointment available. After coming to Elements, I just bought the monthly membership of 80 minutes. I feel it's absolutely amazing. I get the Swedish massage from Yanira but she would still go deep enough to clear the muscle tension and still not hurt as much as the deep tissue ones hurt. I've had regular massages here since May. My last few massages were with Natalie. I went through a few therapists (they were good, but didn't "click") before landing on her, and she's a keeper. She's fantastic. She's super thorough with problem areas and great at explaining the how's and why's of what she's doing. The staff are nothing but accommodating, and seem genuinely engaged in providing a good front-of-house experience. The waiting area and massage rooms are comfortable and unassuming. Let me start with my size and needs. I'm a 5'9 150# triathlete/runner recently recovering from a half marathon. I needed a good strong work-over to get out the soreness & kinks from my last race. I requested a sports massage. I saw Carmella, who is quite small and did her best to give me a deep strong massage, but just didn't have what I was looking for. The overall experience was good, the facility was pleasant, it was clean and professional. The staff was helpful and pleasant. I'd recommend this to the average Joe looking to relax and relieve some stress. I would not recommend it for dedicated athletes who need massage for recovery. read more

The therapists are licensed by the state and very professional, and the massage is customized to my needs. There are options available for the length of time, type of massage, and they even offer hot stone massage options. I can't say enough about my massage experiences to family and friends and have recommended this place on multiple occasions. Just had my first massage ever at Elements Massage. I've been going to a new gym (which is also awesome, check out FNS {Fitness Never Sleeps} in Santa Clara) and they recommended I start getting a sports massage once per month. I found Elements Massage because it is conveniently located near the Trader Joe's I shop at. My massage was great! I had Jaclyn who took the time to understand what I needed and how to help. She knew it was my first time getting a massage and did everything possible to make sure I was comfortable. The ambiance is great and the customer service is stellar. Once I finished I walked into the reception and had the manager ask me how I liked my appointment and if there was anything she could do to ensure I returned. Highly recommend everyone give Elements a shot. $59 for a 55 minute appointment on your first visit. read more

I canceled my membership with them for the simple reason they messed up on my scheduled appointment two times. The massage is actually 45 minutes because by the time they call you in, return to your room to massage and then they stop 7 minutes before your time is up. They get tired sometimes and you dont get the full effect of a good massage. On to a next company to try. read more

I've heard from many people that this place is hit or miss depending on the person you get, but I decided to give it a try. My experience was a miss. My massage was performed by Bobby, and he was nice and had some good techniques, but he kept on aggressively tapping the table every 15 seconds or so and making a bunch odd, erratic movements. His hands were really shaky and clammy, and I kept thinking he must have had too much caffeine (or something else) today. I felt uneasy the entire time because i wasn't sure what weird move he was going to do next - basically the opposite of relaxed. I've had massages from all over, but never one quite like this. Also, this place is simply overpriced for service - there are way better massages places at these rates. Maybe the other masseuses are good, but I guess I'll never know because I'm not going to take the risk on spending $ for another crappy experience. I will never go back to this place. read more

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I thought I was coming in for a "lymphatic drainage massage" but that was not the case at all, the therapist let me know it was pretty much just a very light massage and that is exactly what it was. She was a sweetheart which is why I still tipped her very well but I'm pretty disappointed that I just paid $89 plus a $20 tip for someone to rub lotion all over my body especially when my husband does it for free whenever I need him to do so. I recently went to Elements for a massage after a teammate recommended I have one prior to traveling for a week-long, national softball tournament. I've never had a professional massage before so I don't have anything to compare it to (disclaimer!). However, I have been to many of these tournaments before and I'm very used to how my body responds to the daily grind and the soreness that comes with it. Co-incidence or not, I felt much better during this tournament in my back, shoulder and hamstrings than I have in years and my recovery afterwards was much quicker. The massage itself was an interesting experience! My therapist (Julian) was great about making sure I was comfortable and explaining what he was going to do. During the massage, I felt as if I was, through Julian's work, learning my body in a different way. It's hard to eloquently put into words without sounding like an odd-ball, seriously! He did a great job of paying attention to the areas in my back that needed extra attention and then when the session was over, he discussed different stretching techniques that he felt would help keep my back feeling healthy. In the end, I found my experience at the Spa terrific and the benefits I felt the next week during my tournament were fantastic. I'm looking forward to going back again soon! read more

Good therapists, and great front desk. They always great me by name when I walk in, and make sure I am take care of. Good prices, good location. Parking can be difficult. They have therapists with all sorts of specialties and training, so it was easy to find the right one for me. I described my issues, including my disability, and they gave me a few names to try. I settled on Diana, and she is amazing. Rita is also great, and both of them are very good with special situations like disabilities or other conditions. read more

I came in on my first visit and was terribly disappointed with my massage. Easily the worst massage I have ever paid for. I made sure to get a male masseuse since I have some serious soreness to get out and he applied about as much pressure as my 4 year old niece. I asked him repeatedly to apply more pressure and got nothing. I left my appointment and was greeted by the desk staff. They kindly asked how it was and I responded, "terrible...I'm still sore". I have paid $20 for an amateur massage on a beach in Mexico and have been more satisfied. I got completely ripped off for $70. I should never have paid but I didn't want to make a scene. I would appreciate the management refunding my money or at least crediting me for a massage that works. read more

I've had several colleagues go to Elements Massage locations in different cities, always saying they had great experiences and recommending Elements as the anti-Massage Envy. That's a pretty strong endorsement since I know several Massage Envy customers and few rave about the company. They're more likely to tell me about what they hate about the policies and practices. After a few crazy weeks at work, I came in to the Sunnyvale Elements Massage to seek relief for tight neck and upper back muscles. I asked for someone who could do some deep tissue massage. Julia was fantastic and gave me some follow-up exercises to try. My colleague with lower back and sciatica pain dialed into a morning meeting while lying flat on the floor because she couldn't stand upright. I reminded her of Elements Massage so she called to book a same-day afternoon session and had Andreas as a therapist. She walked into an evening work meeting a few hours later saying she felt considerable relief from the pain. That's nearly a miracle in my book. She wasn't 100% (that'd be impossible given the nature of lower back and sciatica issues), but she was way more comfortable. read more

I have been a member here for years. In the past, I have sent in praise for their website, brought my partner and friends here, and have had nothing but positive things to say. Things have really gone downhill. I do not know what has happened recently but the therapist turnover rate has sharply increased. 4 of their therapists have left in the past few months and I, yet again, have to find a different therapist. I've already tried the rest of the limited weekend staff and do not care for them. Is Elements not paying fairly? Why is their staff leaving? I have been a loyal customer for years but I am considering taking my business elsewhere because I cannot depend on a consistent therapist. Side note: the online scheduling system is terrible for browsing therapist availability, consider switching to some other system. read more

The place is awesome. The location is conveniently located in the heart of Sunnyvale. Love that I was able to book the appointment online and I was able to schedule it with a masseurs that was recommended to me. As I walked in, I was welcomed by the front desk. Very friendly staff, clean and nice decor. I chose a full body massage and focused on my shoulders, back and legs. The table was nicely heated at the right temperature which most spa's do not have. Bobby's skills and technique was amazing. He focused on areas I needed attention and applied just the right pressure. I sit at my work space for long hours during the work week and his massage helped me relieve the stress on my shoulders and back. He made me feel better. At the end of the massage, Bobby handed me a guide on how to stretch and exercise postures to help my body. I'm going to add this massage into my list of favorites. read more

Made the appointment online. Supposed to be a birthday treat for myself. Came to this place and they said no appointment was made. Online booking needs "approval" to become a real appointment apparently. This is the only day off I have in a very very long time, fight so hard to squeeze out this one day, as a person who work 7 days a week. So much for the birthday, completely ruined. Thanks element. Edit: Give one star originally. Ended up had a massage with a male therapist which wasn't what I hope for. And he went really really really deep, super deep tissue. I told him to focus on neck and shoulders and lower back, but he spent most of the time on my arms instead. I've had wayyyy better massage for less than half that price before. But after my initial review, the manager called me back and offer me a free 1 hr massage which yet to be scheduled. So I will see how that goes later and decide if I want to change the review. Oh yea, and they kind of made me feel like tipping was mandatory, even had a big sign in the room to tell you how much 15%, 20%, and 25% of is. I don't mean I don't want to tip, but I would prefer having more flexibility on that. Edit #2: Went to the free massage that they offered, it was really great with the nice Japanese lady (sorry forgot the name, name starts with a T) She is extremely sensitive and intuitive, she can feel what I felt and apply different level of pressure accordingly. I went to Elements and saw the massage therapist- Tom. There was a few moments with Tom that does not sit well with me. First, he made some incredible prejudice comments regarding my area code and where I lived prior to the Bay Area when he went over the process and mask requirements. Second, he mentioned cell phone usage and his annoyances with people on their phone/it buzzing during a massage. I felt like I was being lectured by my father, when, in fact...I am paying for this service so it is my discretion how I mitiage my relaxation. We went over the form and discussed the areas of concern and areas to avoid. However, he did not avoid the areas I marked out. During the massage, it felt pretty good, however, I felt highly uncomfortable when he laid my arm on his lap. There was not an ask if I was okay with this. He was also kind of chatty- which I was not going to a massage to socialize. He expressed how cute a 30 something actress is, and because of the scenario (me being 30 something, near naked), it was awkward. At the end of the massage, while facing up and still under the sheet, it was very uncomfortable when he chose this time to ask about my tattoos found on my body. He also chose this time to lecture me on how I need to "let him take control" and "not be in control of everything", and leave all of my relationship, or personal challenges at the door and relax, minimizing anything I may experience by saying "we all have issues". This is highly terrible unconscious bias and really unprofessional. Considering it has been almost 2 years since my last massage, and managing my own mental health during a very long pandemic and quarantine experience, I do not need some stranger lecturing me on how to manage my challenges (that I never divulged) especially one that is not a mental health professional. There IS a way to suggest how to relax "consider utilizing a heat pad in between massage therapy sessions" or "here are ways that help me relax, may be these can work for you"- without being too personal. After getting dressed, his next statement is where it truly got me. He said to me, "now that I have shown you I am a professional, behave professionally, and you are not harmed or threatened in this experience, I hope you will book with me again". It felt like he was saying "I didn't sexually assault you, so I get a sticker". He walked me out, but lingered just behind the door while I paid. Regretfully, I tipped, and he decided to share some more pointers at this point, which only felt because of receiving a tip. Needless to say, I am not returning. I am only giving two stars because the massage in itself was pretty good. The experience as a whole, however, was not. read more

After posting my previous review the owner of the location reached out to me and was extremely committed to making sure any of the dissatisfaction I had was resolved as much as possible. I was very impressed by his commitment to ensuring I have a positive experience and I feel confident that if anything does fall short of my expectations in the future I will have someone to turn to in order to make it right.
