The work here has always been top notch. That is not in question. Definitely come here if you want a solid, deep tissue massage. That being said, as a general rule if you don't want any snarky comments or get shit on, don't tip less than a $20 for an hour or less than $25-30 for 90 minutes and even then $25 is pushing it, or you'll get attitude. I've been tipping a solid $20 for several years now, even back when people thought $10 was cool. Today we did a 90 and my wife didn't have cash so I gave her a $20 and we definitely received some snark. (My wife's therapist grabs the $20, looks at it for a few seconds, then in an incredulous voice looks at me and goes "how long your massage, 90?" The English wasn't perfect but I got the message, loud and clear) I managed to find another $5 and got a snarky "thanks" with some stank in the voice. I get it. Inflation is up, the economy is down, and it ain't 2018 anymore. I'm actually in agreement these ladies need to be tipped well for the job they do. But today's snark made it awkward and weird af. We enjoyed coming here for years because the massage has been consistently good, no question. But the attitude today has made it too weird to continue coming here, frankly it was a little annoying and embarrassing. The therapists seems nice enough, although the level of skill seems to vary widely 1st time was amazing, 2nd, 3rd time not so much. The real issue is. Tip is Optional, it's meant to signify gratitude for a great service, it's not a requirement. The audacity to have an Employee, say "no more?" when I presented a 20% tip. They have good customer service and the prices aren't bad for what you get, but the problem is that they don't have enough people because the lady who was giving me a massage had to kept stopping and going out to help the customers so it was very annoying cause within an hour she left 3 times so I really couldn't enjoy my massage at all. First time was really bad because they were short staffed so the owner sandy had to jump in and give me the massage, during the massage she was answering phone calls non stop. She stepped out at least 4 times during our 1 hour session and each time she would return and apologize. I finally told her it's not professional to be answering phone calls I felt like the whole session was disturbed. She was also in and out of the room to deal with walk in customers. I couldn't rest at all! And at one time she was using only one hand because she's using the other hand to text. Truly one of the most unprofessional massages ever! I saw the high Yelp rating and didn't think to look more carefully. Warning signs (20/20 hindsight), most of the reviews are from men, most of them rave about deep tissue. On the surface, that seems all great. However, when I arrived, I had a weird feeling that they didn't just offer massage. First, all of the staff are fairly attractive females. All of the clientele, except for me were men. They prefer cash only. After my very mediocre massage (deep tissue, ha! my cat gives more pressure) I was badgered to give a more generous tip. Second, the massage was terrible. I asked for a focus on my neck and shoulders. She started massaging my neck and said, "Your neck no good!" (umm, yeah, that's why I'm here) and then proceeded to focus everywhere else but my neck and shoulders even after I mentioned it a few times. I also was put in the same room as my partner and it was pretty cramped. There was so much noise and they were answering phones while massaging me, the two masseuses taking to each other during our massage, and also a lot of talk to me. I was shocked for the disrespect and keeping walking to the reception and there I said for the manager she just complained because I gave $10 tip? she said well it is little money for a 90 minutes massage I was shocked that they really was ungrateful and did understood that tip is a gratitude and not they payment what I did paid for the massage $217 and was feeling so bad for being there I am not forced to give tip we do for being polite and another way to say thank. When : On new year's day I visited this massage place today. I called them around 1 pm and got an appointment with Lisa starting from 3 pm for 90 mins. 90 mins deep tissue massage cost you $115 which is quite good. Location : The place is at a good location in Sunnyvale just next to AMC. There are ample parking places around. Ambience : The lady at the reception was very welcoming. The interior is pretty clean. I used the washroom as well which was super neat. The sheet and towels on the bed was smelling fresh and looking clean. Moreover the bed is heated which is a rarity around. The room was so comfortable that I could not stop myself from sleeping. Massage : I booked for a deep tissue massage. At the start of the session I told Lisa the pain points and she worked on those spots really well. Her massage was thorough. I am feeling really light after the session. 5/5 for today's experience. They really take care of their customers with small things for e.g. they kept the oil in an electrically heated pot so the oil they are using for massage is always warm. Notes : I saw many people complained about the tips here. I am a generous tipper, maybe that is why but I want to tell that no one asked me for tip. Sandy not only provided the exceptional service but gave me professional advice how to release my muscle pain. I was ok with that but then the lady in the front desk demanded that hourly tip rate is $10 . To me tips are customer's choice based on service. When I gave her the tip for me my friends she demanded that it has to be $10 for each message. I never have problem giving tips anywhere but aggressively bullying for tips is unacceptable. Went here for a couples massage. My partner was a little warm when we got in the room as we had walked there. When the masseuses came in, they both started talked to each other and did not stop for the entirety of the hour massage. They also asked if my partner was hot, he said a little then proceed to wipe him down with a hot towel... the talking continued and there was lots of laughter and giggling. When your face down mostly naked, laughter is not what you want to hear. Unsure of what they were talking about but still found it incredibly rude to talk through the whole massage. Massage was fine, but the talking completely overshadowed the whole experience. When we exited, we gave one of the masseuses a $20 and two $5s and asked if they could split it between the two ladies, $15 each (over 20% tip). This place does not understand the definition of a tip they expect you to pay a 20$ tip on top of a 65$ service that is definitely not worth it, I would recommend going any where else if you want to receive a good massage and actually be treated with respect. Time for another review because, I am now a true believer of 4-hand massage. Once tried, there's no turning back! I have been coming to this place for a year now, on a weekly (and occasionally twice a week) basis for at least 2-hour deep tissue every visit. This is to say how great these people and their services are. Not only because of their accommodation and welcoming services but also their professional skills. I walked in one day with aches and pain so decided to give 4-hand deep tissue message a try - i did the first hour with 4-hand with Nancy and Lisa and last hour with Nancy. My body was in heaven, felt like 25lbs of knots were gone!! They can always treasure-hunt knots on my body and really work on those areas, which I really appreciate it greatly. Nancy and Lisa work really hard and never disappoint! Scheduling was never an issue and if they are running late, I always get a courtesy call/text letting me know Nancy and/or Lisa is running late so I don't have to wait at the lobby. Even though COVID doesn't seem to be a threat to general public, but they still sanitize the bed after every use. I know that because I could smell the alcohol when getting on the massage table - that certainly gives me a peace of mind.
