First, in order to get a massage you have to start a membership. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I tried cancelling the membership later they informed me the only way to do so was from an email I would receive and need to sign. I never got the email and was charged again the following month.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since I now had a credit, I decided to book one more massage - and I wasn't able to make it. So instead of charging me from the credit I had, they charged my bank account an additional $40 for a non-cancellation fee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called again and said I need the email to cancel my membership. They informed me I would get the email and that I could expect the $40 to be refunded back to my account.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 2 months later I called to say I never received that email, and wanted to know what my credit was on my account. I called to make an appointment for my husband and I today, it's a Saturday. Short notice for a weekend, but we were able to get evening appointments for each of us. My husband had a massage for an hour with Victoria at 6:30 PM. Mine is at 7:30 PM with Derek. They do accept spa week cards here. The first appointment here is $80 or $79.95. It's rather expensive for being a chain massage Spot. This location is in Troy, but right on the border of Troy and Rochester. It's on Rochester Road and just south of and 59. Not super close to our house. My massage was deeper tissue, given that it was with Derek. We were told Victorian I can only do light to medium deep tissue massages. I told Natalie, the receptionist that would probably be OK for my husband. I only like deep tissue or nothing at all. Intake forms are filled out quickly, more questions to get us to know, occupation even. The entry is small, 4 seats in the corner, small reception desk. Simple spot. Veronica came to retrieve my husband a couple minutes before his appointment start. My masseur, Dereck came to pick me up just shortly before 7:30pm. Bathroom is kept nice and clean and smells not like a bathroom too. Dereck came to get me by 7:26pm. Done by 8:19pm. My massage was good, good medium to deep pressure. Mostly focused on my trigger points and working out the tension in my shoulders. Victoria gave a good massage, light to medium massgee $79.95/PP for an hour massage here, higher than most franchise chain massage spots. Dereck massaged me, he was pretty good. I broke my tailbone 15yrs ago, but occasionally it flairs up and is excruciating--thank God for Kate at Elements today!! I called today and was able to squeeze into a cancellation spot; staff at the front desk was sympathetic and kind, and very sweet when I came in dressed in pjs (since I couldn't get normal clothes on) and untied shoes. Kate was kind and compassionate, and listened to my concerns; while working on my trouble areas she made sure to check in several times about pressure or sensitivity. Professionalism, and massage pressure were both excellent! After coming home and resting my husband and I were both surprised when I was walking upright again and without as much pain! Thanks so much, Kate, I'll be back! Should mention that Elements has a monthly massage program, if you sign up for it you save $20/month on the 60min massages, so definitely worth it for repeat offenders. I can't say enough about how good she is and the work she does and how consistent she has been in my time there. I wish the walls weren't so thin because I could hear everyone in the surrounding suites. I usually wear headphones because of this but forgot today. Prenatal massage booked by my boyfriend for my bday. Pros: Employees are nice and the price is reasonable for your first visit ($65 for a 60 minute). Cons: Amy was my massage therapist and sadly did not meet my massage needs. I was a bit hesitant when she greeted me because her persona in person speaks "gentle" and I definitely like deep pressure. I asked for a deep tissue massage with deep pressure and her immediate response was she couldn't go too deep because it's a prenatal but would apply pressure to trouble areas - this didn't happen. The massage felt like an hour long body rub which would've definitely been cut short if it was coming out of my pocket, but since my bf paid I just endured the rub for the time allotted. If I had to guess, I'd definitely say Amy's clients are probably older and more sensitive to touch so would most likely respond positively to her gentleness and low pressure. It's so sad that massage therapists that are professionally trained aren't able to give customers what they're paying for vs. massaging within their comfort levels. In addition to my dissatisfaction with the massage itself, addt'l disappointments are listed below: 1. There is a lot of paper work. I would definitely recommend investing in tablets and mobile forms for a more seamless experience for the customer. 2. Room and massage table were both VERY COLD. My body was so cold even under the cover. Massage therapists usually ask about the table temperature and room temperature, but she did not - the table did not seem heated so I'm not sure there was anything she could do about that. 3. She massaged my butt muscles with the cover over me. Most massage therapist will ask your preference and with the very low pressure she used it just seemed pointless to attempt to massage that area at all. 4. I finished my paperwork around 3:09pm, was taken to room at 3:15pm and the massage started at 3:22pm and was completed at 4:14pm, not a full 60 minutes but again it was so cold that I was hoping the time would go by fast because the massage didn't feel good enough to endure. 5. I personally prefer prenatal massages with the prenatal table with cutouts that allow you to lay face down, this venue only has regular tables and has you lay on your side for the entire massage with pillows for support. 6. There's soft music playing which was great, but another speaker with loud ocean noises which is more of a distraction than relaxing or pleasant to the ears. Would recommend eliminating the ocean noises or turning it down quite a bit so it's not so overbearing. Hope this helps someone. I definitely do not have plans to go back. LaVida Massage in Rochester Hills (Vanessa) and Massage Envy in Birmingham (Shauna) are great options for both deep tissue massages or prenatal for those searching for a place to book. read more

I really needed a massage as my neck had been bothering me a lot over the past week. I needed a same day appointment and was able to book an after work appointment for this evening. The receptionist was amazingly helpful and accommodating to me because I left work later than I thought I would be leaving, and I needed to adjust my massage time. My masseuse was Nick and he was great! He was very open to making sure the pressure for the massage was good for me the entire time, and he's very personable. My neck feels better and the experience at Elements exceeded my expectations. Never a bad experience at this place. read more

I've been pretty stressed out lately and having had a couple massages before, I knew this would make me feel better. The place I have gone before was not open so I tried Elements Massage. I was very cold for the whole session. The masseuse's hands were cold as well. I told the her I liked harder pressure but this was very painful. She dug into pressure points and sometimes pushed my skin into my bones. I wanted to relax but I'm not sure if this was a deep tissue massage. It was very painful. I could smell her breath on my face as well and I believe she is a smoker. I was happy to have the $30 off as a new customer but definitely would have been more upset if I had to pay full price. I still tipped because I did say I wanted harder pressure. Even though everyone I spoke to was polite I wish I would have just waited until the place I went last time was open. I feel like I wasted my money since I still feel very stressed out and tense. read more

I have been getting deep tissue massages all over the country for about ten years now. I am no expert in giving massages nor do I claim to be but this massage was not a $79 massage. Keep in mind new customers get $10 off, so retail must be nearly $90 for 55 minutes. I really expect substantial changes in muscle relaxation for that price, which I did not get. Most of the massage used very little oil which was painful on my skin. Also lots of neck work which included enough pressure to close my breathing airway. Usually a knot on my shoulder gets firm stationary pressure directly on the knot until the knot relaxes. This massage did not include that at all. I would pay $50 for the massage I got, but no way would I pay $90. read more

DO NOT GO THERE! This place is an absolute horrible place to receive a massage! The therapist that treated me was RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. He continued to speak over me that "my shoulders were the worst case he had ever seen" and proceed to overwork my shoulders muscles, applying too much pressure and ignoring me when I spoke that the pressure hurt. He replied, "Just breathe through it". I have received massages for years before but NEVER had I felt so sore and achy after receiving a massage. I called the place the next day to ask for a refund since I was not satisfied with the massage. The manager informed me that she would contact accounting and see if a refund could be issued. Several days passed, I spoke with the manager and she offered me a discount on the next massage to correct the pain. I explained I did not want to receive another massage from there; the quality of the first one was horrible, thus I was not confident that the other therapists would do a better job. I requested a refund. She responded again that she will contact accounting and return my call. The manager has yet to return my call. Stay away from this place at all costs! I'm currently completing physical therapy to correct the damage that has been done to my body. read more

My first experience here was decent. Seemed very clean, and my therapist took care in what he was doing, even if he did seem a bit odd. My second appointment however, they canceled on me because they were having computer issues? And then tried to charge me a no show fee because I didn't show for my canceled appointment. When I rescheduled I made my appointment for Wednesday, they called me on Tuesday saying I made a mistake and I was supposed to be there. I was so irritated with this and the snarky attitude that the receptionist gave me didn't help. I could not be happier with the service I've received at Elements. I felt absolutely comfortable with the safety measures that have been put in place and every room I entered was spotless and they had sanitizer in every room as well as cleaning supplies. All employees were wearing masks and kept themselves at a distance. I recently had an injury and Stu gave me a fantastic and very beneficial massage. He took my pain from a 7 down to a 3 in only an hour. Not only did he make me feel immediate relief he also educated me on different ways to continue to improve my situation. Made an appointment for my dad for father's day. He had lower back surgery so he just got cleared and needed a place to go because physical therapy makes him very sore. he said the massage was great once he explained everything I already tried to explain to them over the phone, but when I called the girl on the phone wouldn't shut up she kept interrupting me she kept talking over me while I was trying to explain his schedule was busy and he had surgery and explaining his needs she just wouldn't shut up. I was referred to Eric after several friends talked about how AMAZING he is for years! They both said they will never go anywhere else. I was going to a place near my home for bi weekly massages, although Eric truly lived up to everything my friends said about him. Needless to say, Eric at Elements will be my forever massage therapist. My husband and I both booked with him this month and were both very impressed. He honestly gave me the best massage I have ever had (and I have had many over the last twenty years). I am still slowly recovering from a neck surgery I had over a year ago and Eric will likely be the hands that heal me. He listens to what I need and wants to make a difference. He has a great personality and I was thrilled to scheduled bi weekly massages with him through the end of the year and scheduled a few more for my husband as well. We are so impressed!
