After some initial miscommunications about the job, things didn't quite turn out the way I hoped, but Luis, the company owner came out himself to make sure things were resolved. And even though the scope of the project increased, he insisted on completing the job at the original rate (although I'm not going to let him, because the scope had increased substantially, and that is clearly my own doing). When working with someone new, it's always a toss up on how things will go when unexpected difficulties arise, and I'm very pleased in how Luis does business. Six-stars! UPDATE: the job is done and we are awaiting inspection this week. The pictures speak for themselves. We are extremely satisfied with our Tesla Wall connector Gen 3 installation. Luis went up and over our garage with EMT to get to the nearby panel. He had to upgrade a breaker to a double pole 60A breaker and also had to update the breaker that goes to the subpanel in the main panel to 100A. Tesla had sent us a bad wall connector the first time around and advised us remotely that the electrical work done was perfect and that all power levels were as expected. Luis insisted on coming out himself anyhow to double check everything even though I assured him it was Teslas wall connector. Sure enough the wiring was perfect and when the new wall connector arrived I popped it on and everything worked like magic.

I was quoted $200 to install a Blink Wired Floodlight Camera and Blink Video Doorbell. Then, upon realizing there was no power to the light switch, the technician just left my old wires exposed after removing the old outdoor light fixture. Just moved in, so I wasn't sure what was going on with that switch. So I asked if he could fix it, while he was here. His response was "he had to call his boss to get an estimate and that it had to be done another day because it was too late." At this point the technician offered to install the Blink Video Doorbell for $100. I guess in his mind, it was half the work, so half the price... Again, I was given an estimate in person, the day before for installation of both. The Video Doorbell is maybe 1/8th of an inch off center. He did a decent enough job. For $100 to drill two holes, I would've liked it dead center. Then the next morning I received an email with an estimate for $525, to fix the power and install the floodlight.

When I realized that I wanted a brighter, cooler light, I contacted Dave to order samples to try out different colors. He wanted to charge us for samples and to replace the lighting if we wanted to swap it out. We counted on Dave to advise us regarding residential lighting, and he failed at the job. Why the one star? Because he introduced us to Dominion Lighting, who did a good job installing the lights over 3 days, and was never intrusive.

When approached, he eagerly welcomed the challenge of modernizing our 55 year old basement's fluorescent lighting. Dave inquired as to our typical activity and physical movement patterns, within the confines of the basement living space. Dave studied the exact dimensions and furniture layout of the room. He analyzed the potential shadow effects along with the dramatic lighting impact available through the use of strategically installed "wash lights." After weighing all of our preferences and concerns, Dave educated us as to the improved aesthetics and higher efficiency that could be provided by strategically installed LED recessed overhead lights, controlled by state-of-the-art dimmers. We wanted a slew of indoor and outdoor lights replaced and some new installs, along with three ceiling fan replacements. Took them two days, slightly faster than Geo's estimate of 2+ days. The lights they provided, all recessed, are not very expensive and and are very adjustable, from color to being able to aim them to the dimmers we asked for. The price was right. We got 1-2 other proposals and Geo's was not only by far the least expensive, the value was top notch as well. Cheapest is not always best; nor is the most expensive. I am happy to say that I've now got a go-to electrician forever. Highly recommend CGS for big jobs and small.

Most recently Cass and Nathan were here to install a wireless rain detection device. While on site, they adjusted spray head coverage as we requested, and installed a special back-flow valve to prevent a downhill spray head from draining the uphill line into unwanted puddles.
