Originally was happy with the work provided (wiring for a ceiling fan and installation of recessed lighting). However, when my husband went to install the ceiling fan we discovered that it was improperly wired to an adjacent switch, so that the fan wouldn't work unless both switches were on. To their credit, they responded promptly and fixed the wiring the very next day (email was sent on a Sunday and they arrived Monday morning). However, less than a week later three of the four recessed lights are coming out of the ceiling. This is after they already pushed one back in last week when they fixed the wiring. I'm giving one star because the lights work. Won't be taking any time off from work to have them come back a third time. Bottom line, I recommend using another company who will get the job done right the first time. read more

These guys did an awesome job. Sometime in the history of my 100 year old house there was a wired doorbell. I hate charging my Ring battery so I asked them to come and figure out if they could somehow put the wired doorbell back. They were very careful in explaining options, going step by step, and despite the stone foundation and finished basement they were able to make it happen. The team was prompt, tidy, and pleasant. Very satisfied with the work. Booking was online and included a small discount for online booking. Billing was done by the half-hour which is helpful also. I had them change out some very old outlets from the 50s with new ones for a music room that I was setting up. Also, a new light fixture and inspecting some old wiring in the room. Technician stuck within the time frame he said it would take, also arrived on time and was even able to make some last-minute adjustments I asked for by installing another outlet I was not expecting. I had written a very satisfied review 8 months ago. That review was based on the fact that my outside 220V charger was working properly and the worked had been done in a professional manner. What I had liked a lot less was a bit of a mess which had been left behind and that I only noticed too late. Also when I met with Alan Pumphrey I had asked for adjusting 3 fans deep switches, a work which was forgotten. I paid my invoice upon receiving it, but at the same time pointed out the items I had not liked, which I thought was good feedback. Alan reached out to me with apologies, and when I mentioned that he had forgotten the deep switches he said "do not worry, I will take care of it". Sure enough a short while later the technician and an apprentice dropped by, on their way to another job, spent maybe 15 mn in my house, and fixed the issues. The next thing I know is that I received a bill for $ 262.50, that was what "taking care of" meant. When I complained, they agreed to take off the charges for the apprentice, but not the entire bill. What is leaving a bad taste is not so much the bill as the messiness of the procedure. No invoice was sent or agreed upon, leaving room for too much misunderstanding. And yes, it is worth mentioning that the whole issue started with the original work leaving a bit of a mess behind. read more

Surprised to not see more reviews on this company. I was really impressed with their service. The quote I received for the work I had done at my new house (heavy up, replacing electrical panel, installing a few outlets in my laundry room, replacing a bunch of two-prong outlets) was the best I got from numerous electricians (and some of the others that everyone thought were "cheap" were almost double what New Age wanted!). I have a feeling what the other companies were doing was taking advantage of the fact that I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to electrical work. New Age definitely didn't take advantage of that and I have also learned quite a bit throughout the process! What impressed me, too, is that they seemed to be genuinely interested in the wiring and electrical "status" of my older house (built in 1948) when they came out for the estimate. When it came time to do the work, they arrived right on time and set up drop cloths throughout the entire part of the house they were walking in (and we were in the process of moving in, so they didn't really have to do this and could have made a mess without me even noticing it!). They worked efficiently all day long and provided status updates throughout. The workers were polite and seemed to really know what they were doing. They came back the next day to finish up the work and that was that. I'll definitely use them again and will for sure recommend them to my friends.
