Elena altered my wedding dress which I purchased from La Reine Bridal. Elena was very nice and helpful especially with my dress requiring many alterations as it was very intricate and delicate, and had long sleeves which needed a lot of work. I also needed crinoline added underneath which I wanted sewn into the dress. I went for an initial fitting, and then two more until the dress fit just right, and picked it up on the fourth visit. I recommend going for alterations 2.5-3 months before your wedding day, and having your wedding shoes and any undergarments with you, which Elena was very nice to remind me on the phone. Her prices might be a little bit on the higher side, but her work is worth it especially if you have a complicated dress like mine. I really like how Elena Bridal is right below La Reine, which made it very easy and efficient. read more

Elena did 3 fittings and each time I put on the dress is was more and more perfect. She was able to make a dress that already looked great look even better. Elena was referred to me when I bought my dress at La Reine Bridal. She is amazing! She does high quality work and her prices are reasonable. I got engaged in March and married in July, so there wasn't a whole lot of time. I bought a gorgeous off-the-shoulder lace dress off the rack at La Reine, but it was a size 10, so Elena took it down to a size 2. She also changed the neckline from off-the-shoulder to a cap sleeve, added fabric underneath the sheer back, and hemmed the bottom. When she was done, you couldn't even tell any work had been done - the dress looked even better than it had when I bought it. Elena was fantastic about listening to what I wanted (especially since I had some significant changes made to the dress) and is an incredibly talented seamstress. Elena came recommended by a friend who used her last summer. I called her as soon as I picked up my dress from where I ordered it, a month ago, and set up 3 appointments prior to my upcoming September wedding. I drove out to her from Boston to her shop tonight, and when I arrived, she asked if I bought my dress upstairs at La Reine, which I had not. As a result, she told me she would not be able to work on it. When I called her a month ago, she never asked me if my dress was from upstairs. She took no responsibility for the fact that she had never mentioned this before. This is the first question she should ask people before setting up their appointments and having them drive out to her shop. Had I known, I would have booked elsewhere a month ago. Complete waste of time. Don't bother calling Elena if you did not buy your dress at La Reine. read more

Elena was great! I wasn't sure what to expect, as there were so few reviews for Elena Bridal, but honestly I was so pleasantly surprised and impressed with Elena's work. I also thought her prices were extremely reasonable compared to some quotes I received from other seamstresses. She was very good at explaining different options available in order to complete a particular alteration and then guiding me on which option would make the most sense. Some seamstresses will just pick a way without even letting you know there could be more than one way to achieve the same or similar end result. I thought she was very friendly and really knew her stuff. She was also able to get my dress done on my super tight timeline; probably because I had a winter wedding which obviously is not peak wedding season. I wouldn't hesitate to use her again or recommend her to a friend. read more

I got married on 10/20/18 and Elena was referred to me for my alterations when I purchased my beautiful bridal gown at La Reine Bridal upstairs. Elena is absolutely AMAZING and did such a beautiful and perfect job on my dress! I needed a lot of alterations done because I had lost 20-30 pounds from the time I first ordered my dress, and kept losing weight throughout my fittings. Elena made my dress look so perfect, nobody ever would have known how much I had taken in. Elena was so patient with me, so sweet, and so kind. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and helped calm all my worries. She is truly talented and her skills and experience show beautifully in her work, she did such a beautiful job on my dress I am so thankful for her and grateful to have had her be the one to make my wedding dress absolutely perfect for me! I partied hard in my wedding dress and need a few repairs made and then would like to preserve it. OVERVIEW: In the end, I LOVED my dress, thought Elena did excellent work, and I really appreciated her help. But, she doesn't have the best bed-side manner and in the beginning, I felt that she was inflexible and off-putting, which overshadowed the whole experience. I got married this summer and bought my dress from La Reine Bridal. I bought it as a strapless dress and wanted to add off-the-shoulder straps, which had been my dream since I was a little girl. The woman who helped me purchase the dress at La Reine assured me that Elena Bridal Studio would easily be able to make those alterations. At the first dress fitting, Elena had a hard time understanding what I wanted and told me several times that could not be done (I had come alone and wanted to cry...be sure to bring a friend at least to your first fitting!). It took a LOT of explaining, patience, and demonstrating to finally get on the same page. The next fitting was better (and I was sure to bring my mom this time), but I still felt that she was stubborn and difficult to work with. It wasn't' until my last fitting that I finally felt we were on the same page. I think that was also the first time she cracked a smile :) However, the work she did was beautiful and her matter-of-factness helped with learning how to bustle the dress, as she clearly color coded each layer. Lastly, 2 words of caution: - the studio is quaint, but NPR radio (which I love) is continually on in the background, which makes it a bit distracting to communicate! - she only takes checks and cash! read more

Elena was absolutely amazing. I purchased my bridal gown for my wedding in March 2013 at La Reine, which was also an excellent experience (never felt rushed, they really listened to what I was looking for in a gown, and each dress they brought in got closer and closer to what I was describing until we found 'the one!"). They referred me to Elena, and every fitting was excellent. She was timely, kind, and explained everything in detail. My excitement about my gown I think clouded my judgement on my first fitting, and when it came time for the second, I became very unhappy with how the bust looked/fit. This was not a result of Elena's alterations, but rather, how the dress looked on me once it fit properly. In the sample gown, and the gown ordered in my size, it was always much too big. Once taken in and fit properly, it revealed more than I wanted, and was an odd shape! Elena took my nervous/freaking out bride phone calls in stride, and helped to come up with solutions. We ended up taking lace from straps I had her remove from the gown, and line the bust line for a scalloped look. She also beared with me as I hemmed and hawed over cups/no cups, and even made custom cups that I felt fit better out of materials I brought in. In the end, my dress was more than I even imagined, and was almost like a custom gown! Elena saved the day and was so kind, calm, and genuine through the whole experience. Also, my bustle for my extremely long train was gorgeous, and I am one of the only bride's I know, whose bustle lasted the entire evening! I recommend her highly! read more
