Stopped coming here after previously leaving tons of bugs still on my hood/grill. Decided to try again today with a different car because it is conveniently close to home. Paid for $16 "middle tier" wash. Once again left tons of dirt on car as well as soap residue. No point in going here other than the free vacuums. Terrible car wash. I don't expect too much from a drive through car wash but this place is a waste of time and money. They didn't pressure wash the car before entering the tunnel. They put about two seconds into scrubbing a random part of the hood and windshield with brushes BRUSHES! without any soap. Skip this place. Lazy attendants. read more

I paid for the top tier wash (only $19) but they didn't get the pollen off so i called before i left to let them know. they corrected It immediately with an extra scrub and a second car wash. Wow, there seems to be some haters out there ;) I am not from this area, but while staying at some friends house locally their trees left pitch all over my black truck. The next day I took it to Elephant Car Wash to see if I could get it cleaned up. This is not a cheap option, I went with their most expensive wash. However, on the other side, the hood of my truck was pitch free. Yay! They had free vacuums with the wash, they had great suction and the area where you could vacuum was clean and free of garbage. I was happy with my wash and would come back. read more

Not worth the money. $17 for the "VIP" wash which included a "machine tire scrub", didn't get my truck clean. Let them know and they allowed me to go back through again, truck still wasn't clean after the second pass. Like other people have said the machines are very rough on the car, and vacuum is extra (don't forget to bring quarters). There is much better out there! The spinning brushes often miss the areas along the side of the vehicle. There are occasions where spinning brushes don't even reach my car or spin too slowly! Many times there is equipment that is broken so areas of my vehicle don't even get cleaned. The rolling brush for the roof applied so roughly that I thought it was going to damage the sun roof. I had a wash club subscription, but I ended it. Not worth the money. This location doesn't maintenance their equipment enough, I think. It'll get the majority of the dirt off but that's about it. read more

So I went and washed my car this morning, no issues. The car came out fine but when I went to vacuum they require payment. Now most places I go to vacuums are free since you spend 20 bucks on a car wash. But of course gig harbor isn't. You got to pay for everything because all businesses look to make money at every chance they can. Just Gig Harbor tax. Now while they expect you to pay they don't offer you any change machines or nothing. So I had to leave and come back. I was finally able to get back but half way through vacuuming and after I paid they turned the power off to the vacuums. Stealing money from me. I know we are used to paying more but this place isn't worth your time and money. Go elsewhere Gig Harbor. Just because they are here doesn't mean they are anything special. I went to the pink elephant car wash today, and was very disappointed. I had the same experience in the past, but thought I would give them another try. I pulled into a parking lot after getting out of the car wash to dry off the water that the blower , to discover that there was soap all over the sides, the hood, and the tailgate of my SUV. I have also noticed that every time I go there, one of their brushes on the passenger rear leaves a black mark on my car. It looks like black rubber from one of the rollers. It will be my last trip there. It is very poor quality. I am giving it one star because I cannot give it anything less. read more

Yesterday, I went through the Gig Harbor operation which DIRTIED my car. The brushes streak the dirt and the filthy 'rinse' water leaves spots, smears and stains that weren't on car prior to visit. It was an embarrassment to view in the shining sun, my black sedan mosaicked with the dried, turbid liquid doused from the obviously malfunctioning equipment. Ok, this one scared me. I've been to several elephant car washes all over. I've never experienced it pushing so hard on my roof that I could hear it flexing the metal. I had to get out and look after because I wasn't sure if it caused any creases of sunroof damage. It also left gummy smears all over, especially on windows. I will never come here again. read more

My daughter brought her sports car in today for the first time. The young men who are working there need a lesson in customer service. I'm guessing they wouldn't pass the test at Chick-fil-A. She left with her car very poorly washed and frustrated for a $20 car wash. After bringing it home, we took it back and showed the manager how poor their system works. They did send her through a second time and gave the car more attention. For $20, I would expect better the first time. read more

I have had 2 bad experiences that caused damage to my car. First time the top of the car was scratched. The gal was extremely rude. Informed me I would have to file a claim with my insurance company and they would come out to see their car wash wouldn't cause damage(when it obviously did). I should have known not to go back however I thought I'd give them a second chance. The second time it cracked my windshield top to bottom. The service was horrible. I have a new Cadillac Escalade so this was a total bummer. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I've had to file a claim with my insurance company. The car wash has not gotten back to me. No matter which level of service you choose, the car does not get very clean. The weak point is the workers who scrub the vehicle with brushes prior to entering the wash. They consistently do a poor job. There always is dirt on the front grill and rear area of the vehicle after the wash. We have have had at least 10 washes here and it is worse every time. I would stay far far away from this place. I took my car in last weekend and what a waste of money. First the guy tried to remove my radio antenna but only had one adjustable wrench and spun it around and around till it was loose and hanging. If he had a second wrench he could have held the base and removed the actual antenna. Then the trip through the scrubber was like hard rubber tire scraps banging away at the car. There was very little cleaning done and was almost as dirty coming out of the carwash as it was going in and now I have to have my radio antenna replaced by removing front quarter panel. I was really hoping to love this car wash as we need more options around here, but I can only give a "Meh" rating. I got a VIP wash which was $16'ish. It completely missed areas on my car (particularly on the back hatch and window) and could not remove even light bird droppings. I signed up for the monthly service - first time a rock chip hit the hood and lifted the clear seal coating. I had looked at the car before the wash - it was not there then. I now have to have the hood resealed. I cancelled the service, said I would pay for that wash, but I wanted the rest of the first monthly payment refunded. They refused. The scrubbers are way to rough on the car. The first time I went through it bent my license plate, this was about a year ago. I have a new truck and took it through out of necessity, and it left a huge scratch on the side of my truck and the truck wasn't even cleaned! 1. The car wash seemed too forceful and slamming down hard on the glass and the rest of the car. I wondered if it might break through my windshield or moonroof and harm me. I was concerned for my safety. 2. I have been using Elephant car wash in various locations for several years and never had this type of experience. 3. Halfway through the car wash I notice a crack had started in my windshield and watched as it became bigger and bigger, from the bottom of the windshield up, I worried the whole time that my windshield would break and cause injury and serious car damage. 4. When I was outside of the car wash I pulled into the parking lot and asked to speak to someone about the broken windshield. 5. Basically they refused to accept responsibility, the Manager, (over the phone, he was not there) responded to pictures sent to him by the onsite attendant, and told the attendant that it looked like a crack was already there and the rollers the car wash made it worse. 6. Absolutely Not True. They would not give me a claim form before I left. 7. The whole time I was there talking with the attendant and being judged by the off-site Manager, there was a truck that was having trouble getting through the car wash, with the electronics of the car wash locking up and the truck driver having to back-up twice and re-enter. 8. I will be contacting my lawyer, and will advise everyone I can, this is not a safe business. 9. I wish I could give this business a minus star, but if I have to give a star, it would be for the poor attendant, who was nice, and placed in what I imagine was a very uncomfortable situation by the off-site Manager. 10. If you have a stock roof rack, don't go here. They won't wash your car. If you have an SUV, bumpers, headlights, antenna, or wheels, better ask them where to go. They are more than happy to direct you to The Great Car Wash over on Kimball. Save backing out when they refuse to wash your car because there is dirt on it and just head to The Great Car Wash. When they go belly up, and another owner buys the car wash, then perhaps the new owner will realize that washing cars is indeed what the building was built for. read more

So far, my experiences have been good here. I have a white car which shows dirt and bugs easily. I get the basic wash which is all I need as a rule. I joined their monthly wash program and appreciate that I can come in as often as I want at no extra charge. The vacuums are $1 for four minutes which is enough for me. They always prewash the windows and mirrors which i Iike. It's not like a detailing, but it helps me keep my car clean. read more

I have been to several car washes with no issues but that all changed when I visited elephant car was in gig harbor. At the start of the car wash one of the employees broke my mirror so now it simply flops around, his response was simply "ah f**k" and then he moved on. Towards the end of the car wash my antenna was broken off of my vehicle as it smacked my windshield. Afterwards I went and parked, the assistant manager who broke my mirror was just simply walking around on the phone, the other employee offered to look for the broken antenna and have the assistant manager get a form to fill out. About 10 minutes later both employees walked over and the assistant manager looked at all the damages and simply said "company policy is that they are not liable for any damages to vehicles that are over 8 years old." He claimed that it's posted everywhere but I couldn't find it posted anywhere. Very disappointed in the whole experience. read more
