I asked Dr. Cibel her professional opinion on water picks/glossers. She very openly and honestly said they help but should not be used as a replacement for traditional flossing. When I moved to LA years ago, one of the more disappointing aspects of life here is that too many dentists are like bad car repair shops. They'd rather sell you a cosmetic overhaul than fix a simple cavity. I had one dentist lie about the condition of my teeth and gums in an attempt to have me spend for completely unnecessary services. (I eagerly bolted.) My teeth and gums were and are good. They just begged for a real dentist who can do the things that dentists are supposed to do. Omg, never thought I'd be writing THIS review, but I really enjoyed my dentist visit today. I had a HORRIBLE experience elsewhere last year (check out my review history if you're interested) so I was really dragging my feet on going back but I was overdue for a cleaning. I searched Yelp and found this place and it's right near my office! Scheduling was super easy- I called when they were out but they got back to me within a couple hours. I was able to make an appointment for the following week. When I arrived today I was anxious but was also hopeful given the positive reviews. The hygienist was really nice when she took my xrays. The doctor was very warm and friendly. He wasn't stuffy like some medical professionals can be. The xrays showed a cavity so he quoted me for a filling and he was able to do it right then. THIS was the part I was so nervous about. When he numbed me he only did two injection sites. In the past when I was only numbed this much, the dentist would start drilling and I would have to have them stop and give me more novocaine (or lidocaine, I can never remember----the numby stuff!) I was expecting the same twinge to happen, but it never did! He got me perfectly numb on the first try and it was so painless! I was in utter shock! I am so, so thankful I found this dentist. He and his support staff are really great and they made me feel totally comfortable and relaxed. What a relief!! I am glad that people like Dr. Safaei exist in the world - skilled AND compassionate. read more

The surgeon was going to do his part and my dentist was going to handle everything he could do. I went in because I needed an implant after cracking a tooth. The atmosphere here is so much more relaxed than other offices. The staff is clearly happy to be there and the dentist is very down to earth. Their fees were lower than other places that the service was awesome!
