I was so surprised (and delighted) to find out that her intake form listed so many of the random and weird symptoms I deal with all the time (like needing to pee a lot, or perennially cold feet and hands). I've NEVER seen these types of things listed on a doctor's intake form before. It gave me a sense of relief, like I finally found someone who understood the kinds of physical issues I face. Christine took one look at my symptoms form and asked me whether I'd ever gotten tested for diabetes. A few days later my roommate lent me his blood glucose monitor and I tested myself several times over 3 days. Low and behold, my numbers were firmly in the prediabetic range! I looked up diabetes symptoms and found out that needing to pee a lot and constantly being thirsty were both major symptoms! (Plus, of course, fatigue.) I'm going in for the A1C blood test tomorrow with my primary care doctor to get a definitive answer of whether I'm prediabetic.
