Our music choices were pretty specific and broken down by certain portions of the event by time - DJ Mike handled most of those requests seamlessly on the big day. Thank goodness for Elevated Pulse! A photobooth was one thing I absolutely had to have for our wedding because I love photobooths and just thought it would add to the fun factor. After doing some searching online I had settled on another company. They seemed legitimate and everything so I booked them.... what . a . mistake! The company turned out to be totally shady and they were just taking people's money and not showing up to the wedding (pay via credit card through their website). Luckily I had discovered this whole situation before the wedding. With only a little over a month before the wedding I went into full panic mode. My wedding coordinator suggested I contact Elevated Pulse because she has worked with them many many times and she highly recommended them. So again.. thank goodness for Elevated Pulse. As soon as I contacted them they responded promptly, were always very helpful whenever I had questions regarding their services or just the photobooth in general. Everyone was just super nice and willing to answer my endless questions. The day of the wedding, the photobooth arrived on time, Samantha (the attendant for the photobooth) was there working away getting it set up for everyone, and the photobooth was a huge hit with everyone! My husband and I hired Elevated Pulse after hearing good things through our venue Franciscan Gardens and wedding planner Holly of Simply Sweet Weddings! We are so glad we chose Elevated Pulse! We had no idea what songs to play for certain songs in the wedding (garter toss , boquet toss etc)and wasn't sure what to expect so we set up a face to face meeting with Brian Lee and DJ Mike (who would be our DJ for the wedding). I would recommend anyone looking for a good Wedding DJ/Emcee at a reasonable price to definitely research carefully before making their final decision. My husband and I hired Elevated Pulse for our wedding last year in August 2015, and though we met with the DJ that was selected by Brian for our wedding in advance - our experience with the DJ on the night of our wedding was definitely not worth the rate that was charged to us. For 4 hours of DJ/Emcee Service at our Reception for up to 200 guests, you should anticipate being ready to shell out more than $300/hour. Our DJ started packing up his gear around 3 hours in, and stated that if he went over the 4 hour mark, he would charge us extra. As with most weddings, there was a delay to the start of our Reception. We were supposed to start at 6 PM, but started closer around the 6:45 PM mark. This ended up being little to no dance time for our guests and a prompt end to the festivities, as we obviously didn't have any room to rack up even more costs. Even when communicating back to Elevated Pulse about our feedback and disappointment, we never received even a call back. They were good about communicating with us when invoices were involved, though. Brides-to-be and Grooms-to-be, I would advise you to shop around for both a DJ and package price that you can live with and not just agree to whatever is set before you. My regret is for being too complacent in our decision-making process, just accepting that that's just how much things should cost. Good luck! read more

My review is significantly late, given the help and ease that Brian provided us throughout our entire wedding experience. We let Brian have pretty much complete reign in regard to feeling out the crowd because we wanted it to feel as natural as possible. Throughout every step of the night, and every step of the way leading up to the wedding, Brian made sure to guide us in the right direction with timing of certain songs and dances, set the mood, and ensure that all we had to focus on was having fun and enjoying the moment. Brian was awesome. I'm so glad that we got him as our DJ. He understood pacing and went along w/ all of our crazy requests! We had to request video game music for some of the songs and he totally worked with us to get all the songs. I also think it is great that he actually buys songs. It is great to work with someone who has high moral value. The lights were also beautiful! We had them come in to do some string lighting and it ended up looking prefect. Everyone did a great job! Elevated Pulse was one of my favorite vendors to work with for our wedding. When I called I spoke to Brian and he was very helpful and informative and just a breeze to talk to. I felt like he understood my vision after the first call. He then put me in contact with Samantha, who was incredible throughout the whole process! Elevated Pulse is an extremely professional company with excellent management and execution. We specifically used EP for our wedding in January 2019. The DJ was one of the most important aspects of the wedding for my wife and I as we are huge music snobs. Elevated Pulse assigned DJ Angel to our wedding who immediately established contacted with us to set up consultations regarding what we wanted played at our wedding. Angel couldn't have been more professional, laidback, and easy to work with. I provided him with Spotify playlist as well as clear music direction and he exceeded our expectation. Our wedding was one big dance party, which was exactly what we wanted. We had multiple people say that our DJ and reception was one of the best they had ever seen/attended. Elevated Pulse came highly recommended by a good friend who works in the wedding industry. We also did some research on our own online and by talking to other friends. In the end, we decided to go with Elevated Pulse because of all the great reviews, and they did not disappoint. DJ Angel went above and beyond everything we were hoping for. We had a lot of "must plays" on our cocktail and dance mix, but made sure to leave enough room for DJ Angel to feel out the crowd and take over with his own music. We should have given him more room to choose his own stuff, because he has great taste and knows a crowd. Despite the Sunday wedding and everyone having to work the next day, the dance floor was going all night. DJ Angel also did a great job with the introductions, announcements, etc to keep the night moving. We were a little worried about how he'd do pronouncing names (Indian and Vietnamese families), but he got it all right. We also heard from some friends that he ran across the street for them during down time before the ceremony to grab them some coffee, which is definitely going above and beyond. Leading up to the wedding, we were not able to meet Angel in person to go over wedding details so Elevated Pulse made it convenient for us by suggesting Skype calls as an alternative. It was a great idea because we were able to hammer out everything via Skype and also get a good feel for Angel. DJ Steve Dub absolutely crushed it. He took our song list and added his own spin to it. Threw in some pleasant surprises that fit our style. He had all of the guests dancing from all age ranges. I've never head people chanting "one more song" at a wedding after the final song, but our guests did! We got tons of compliments on him. We were told multiple times that he was the DJ people have heard at weddings. Their services include a couple of interviews, a website with comprehensive questions about style and song selection. We were able to choose songs we did not want and he was faithful to this (he played one song on the no play list, but it was a short, remixed version and we did not mind). We had a final phone meeting the week of the wedding to make sure the details were correct. We got up-lighting through their company, too, which looked nice and had a small discount for using them. There were some issues with the venue's built in stereo needed for the ceremony and dinner area, but he just figured it out and didn't bother us about it. He brought his own equipment for the reception/dancing and the volume was perfect. We had some small timeline/announcing changes and he seamlessly adapted without complaints. When booking a DJ for our wedding, we spent a lot of time researching because we knew they would set the tone of the entire reception. All of that research paid off when we found Mike and Elevated Pulse productions. Mike had a ton of glowing reviews, and he deserves them. When we met with him in person before the wedding his experience was obvious and he was personable and easygoing as well. For the ceremony he took our requests and seamlessly transitioned between songs creating a perfect, unobtrusive background. We told him how much we and our guests love dancing and he did not disappointment. The energy was up all night and the dance floor was packed until they kicked us out. Our guests remarked they had never seen such an active dance floor at a wedding. Some even complained the DJ was too good and never played a bad song so they just could not sit down. He played each song for just the right amount of time and was exceptional at reading the crowd and picking new songs based on their response. This past weekend I went to a wedding, the music and DJ were provided by this company. The DJ was very rude and unprofessional. At one point a woman was supposed to sing in front of all the wedding guests. We all sat in silence for two awkward minutes while the DJ fumbled looking for the music. He then started playing the wrong song! Then, the DJ announces on the microphone, that he doesn't have the right music! The woman went on to sing beautifully, no thanks to the DJ. I also think he was trying to be funny, but he mocked the best man just before his speech as well! It's unfortunate my friends had to put up with this on their one and only wedding day. My husband and I chose Elevated for our wedding in San Juan Capistrano on 09-17-16. I initially met with me Brian (via phone because I live out of state). He was awesome and the entire experience from the company up until the day of the wedding was top notch. They were super helpful and extremely responsive. Two weeks before our wedding we Skyped with Eric, the actual dj for our wedding. The only request I had was for him to not play a particular song. He noted that and said it wouldn't be a problem. The music played during our ceremony was perfect and we received several compliments. Eric was really great at getting everyone hyped up. Now here comes the bad... During the reception, he announced my husband as "Jason" instead of his actual name, Justin. Twice!!! So embarrassing. Everyone laughed it off, but really- that's totally unacceptable. Furthermore, he played the one song I told him not. Very disappointed. This review is mainly for our DJ and not the company itself. Overall, I would recommend the company but not our DJ. read more

We used Elevated Pulse as our wedding DJ and they also provided the photo booth. They were AWESOME! We met with DJ Mike before the wedding and were super comfortable with his vibe and style. I should have known better when the DJ selected by this group to play my New Year's Eve Miami Nightclub themed party had no uploaded mixes to check out or any reviews of him on Yelp. DJ Angel contacted me before my event and we went over what I wanted, a mix of the latest dance tunes with some latin pop and salsa and a few retro dance faves thrown in. We spoke on the phone and I was assured he would play the songs I was requested. I emailed him my list and continued to email him up until the day before my party. As my party got started I could tell it was starting to drag, the music was not progressing in tempo and he wasn't playing any of the songs on my list. People wanted to dance but just couldn't get into the groove with the songs he was spinning-I wanted more pitbull and JLo and he's giving me Bruno Mars...Please!. It felt like the air was being sucked out of the room. I flipped out and went over to his booth and told to start playing the songs I requested. This happened at least three times at my party completely stressing me out. Finally at the last hour he sort of got his act together but I was really unimpressed. My party planner had assured me this group is the best of the best for Orange County DJ's. I don't know what their other DJ's are like, but pass on DJ Angel. I also did not like the owner's response when I told him what had happened. He practically accused me of lying and no offer to refund some of their $2000 fee. Do yourself a favor and find another company...I am sure there are other quality DJ's in the OC. Don't settle for this. read more

We used Elevated Pulse for DJ and lighting services for our wedding. Starting with the booking process - we worked with Brian and Samantha and both were amazing. Very responsive, organized, and totally willing to work with our schedules, especially when it came to planning our in-person meetings. On to lighting - flawless. They have an entire room dedicated to all the cool lighting components you can choose from, which makes it much easier to understand what you're paying for. The lighting in the room, spotlights, etc, on the day of were perfect. Totally worth every penny spent. Finally, day of - they arrived perfectly on time, everything was set up and ready to go with time to spare. Our DJ was Angel, and he was great. Positive energy, eloquent, the announcements were great (especially given our tough names!). The music was good and they were very accommodating. We had requested a list of about 20 middle eastern songs and they took the time to download them all and made sure to play them throughout the night. I had Brian as the DJ for my July 2014 wedding. He did such a phenomenal job! He found a way to play our style of music, while appealing to the entire crowd. He mixed in oldies sounds to current sounds and got all the generations dancing together without being cheesy. After hearing our toasts, he founds music to play that correlated to how/ where we met ( again, without it being cheesy).
