This place was everything and more! I was a bit apprehensive after reading some reviews, however I am so glad I decided to give it a shot. I made a reservation for a group of 3 for Friday at 7:30pm. We added an additional person upon arrival and they were very accommodating. Upon entering I was immediately transported to a vacation in Mexico. Lighting, decor, ambiance, aromas, all created a microcosm of Mexican culture. The staff members were dressed in green, chic attire that gave clean and alluring looks. Our waitresses were Ingrid and Madison; they were kind, attentive, and provided exceptional service. Our seating was lounge style, which included 4 plush chairs and a small table. Perfect for conversations, Tapas, and drinks. We ordered a few drinks which were very aesthetically pleasing and uniquely crafted. For food we ordered the Herb Guacamole, Whole Sea Bass, Tuna Tostada , Wings Pastor, and Carnitas Taco. Everything was perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and unique flavors. 10/10 Recommend. While the food was good, the prices and sizes were crazy and the experience was very mediocre, if that. Stop in for a drink to see the decor once but don't stay late or try to have dinner. The happy hour/dinner crowd was very casual and then things got rowdy quick. People sitting practically on your table. It was weird and uncomfortable. It was not a classy crowd nor an upscale lounge. The food was actually quite tasty. We had the guacamole (3 chips - not joking), empanada and sea bass. Portion sizes were absurd for the prices. Service was not what you come here for. Oof. For a place with such an incredible aesthetic, and carefully curated interior design, the execution on service, quality, and convenience leaves much to be desired. We can start with what works - the servers are friendly, and they strike a perfect ambiance for a cocktail bar. So where does it all fall apart? We came in a group of eight - one of our members waited 45 minutes for their first drink. No effusive apology, no covering the drink, just a concerned and puzzled look from our server. Food was brought to the table, but no plates. The wait for plates was so prolonged one of our table members actually got up themselves and retrieved plates themselves for the whole table (and the restaurant still somehow added an automatic 20% gratuity onto the bill, wild work). The drink I ordered was a mocktail, which was incredibly average, and arguably below average given the $12 price tag. The bill also added a 3% credit card convenience fee which is fascinating for a restaurant and arguably should be clearly disclosed prior to seating guests or taking reservations. The seating was also aesthetically pleasing but incredibly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, given all of the above, this will not be a place I will be interested in returning to. read more

I went to an early dinner with one of my girlfriends and we weren't ready to call it a night yet, so we decided to find a spot to have some drinks. I remember a friend telling me about Eleven Eleven and how it was a vibe. We didn't have a reservation, so we just walked in. The hostess was super sweet and even complimented me on my name. She told us that most of the tables were reserved, but that if we wanted the bar for about 45 minutes we were welcome to it. I was slightly confused as I didn't know if they take reservations for the bar too, but she definitely seated us right away. There were 2 gentleman who were waiting on a table, so she moved the quickly to their table so we could have the seats at the bar. What is interesting to me is that they are deemed as a cocktail bar, but quite a few of their drinks are "pre-batched". I understand places that pre-mix other ingredients, but not the actual liquor with it. Personally I have a preference on liquor and most pre-mixed cocktails/drinks always use random brands that they consider "premium well", but those are usually budget friendly and cause more hangovers. If you're going to have cocktails on your menu, it would be nice for them to be fresh as I know they are able to make fresh drinks. I ended up ordering my usual Southside, which came out delicious and those are they types of freshly made cocktails I love. Another thing we noticed, waitresses kept coming out of the kitchen with cocktails that were ready to be served and we were EXTREMELY confused as we were sitting at the bar and didn't see any of those drinks made! LOL Lastly, there are some drinks that come with this foam. Not sure it is very sanitary because the foam is just sitting out in the open in a metal container. It's continuously spewing out which someone is always around to maintain it, but it is still really close to the bar. If someone coughed or sneezed.....well I'll let you think about that. I had a pretty solid night out at Eleven Eleven. I went on a Saturday night. It was pretty full but not overly crowded that I couldn't comfortably walk around. The decor is stunning that is definitely a highlight besides the drinks. It gives a tasteful, bohemian vibe. The furniture and artwork are honestly like a work of art and I loved the bathroom as well. Super clean, spa inspired with candles and beautifully designed. I only tried one drink here, the expresso martini and really enjoyed it! It's a well made drink and has a nice hint of chocolate that's not too overpowering (forgot to take a picture). It's a nice place to stop by on a night out when bar hopping. DJ played house-music which was a fun vibe. read more

Overall: 4/5 [dine in] At this time they only accept reservations and they do enforce the dress code. Valet parking is available but if you prefer to self park there is street parking and a lot in the plaza behind. The space is elevated but has this cool toned down and relaxed atmosphere. I loved the green dresses the check in staff wore too. A few things to note before you go. They automatically charge 20% gratuity and charge for still water which I am not a fan of ($14 for a 22 oz Still Aqua de Piedra). When I submitted my reservation they asked about dietary restrictions and whether I was celebrating anything special, then called the day of to confirm and asked me the exact same questions again. Not sure why they bother collecting that upfront. We also had a reservation at 4:30 PM, just half an hour after they opened, and they had already run out of the mazapan and the Tropical Hibiscus shot. Cool spot to check out once but I think it is a bit overhyped. Pollo Al Pastor Wings ($16): Came with 4 pieces. The wings were good but salty and definitely overpriced for what you get. Carnitas Taco ($14): This was the best thing we had. The Mexican cola braised duck was so delicious and the flavor combination was just perfect. Matcha and Lychee Martini ($17): A really beautiful clarified martini. You get subtle hits of matcha and lychee coming through which I enjoyed. Roasted Pina Shot ($12): Better than expected taste wise since you don't really taste the alcohol. Fruity and easy to drink but the mezcal didn't come through at all so I don't think it's worth the price. read more

My friend made a reservation and was greeted upon arrival. They walked me to my table, which was in a corner that felt a bit plain compared to the rest of the restaurant. Eleven Eleven has some really cool sculptures and an interesting ambiance overall, but my spot had no real aesthetic to it, which made it hard to get good photos. I will also say the restaurant looks a bit different than it does online and is smaller than you would expect, but it is still a pretty space. Our waitress was attentive throughout the meal, checking on us consistently and keeping things flowing. The only hiccup was at the end of the night when it came time to pay the bill. We actually had to go find her, which was a little surprising given how on top of things she had been all evening. Even though the portions are small the food was very good. The empanadas (shrimp) were delicious and the sea bass was amazing. We also had a few glasses of their wine, which were great. The vibe shifts noticeably around 8 PM when they dim the lights, and I personally loved that setting much more. I arrived around 6 PM so I experienced both, and the later atmosphere felt a lot more elevated. One thing worth noting before you go is that Eleven Eleven has an extensive dress code outlining what you can and cannot wear. I enjoy dressing up so it was not an issue for us, but it is something to be aware of and plan around ahead of your visit. Overall I had a good time. It is a great spot to go for good conversation, good food, and a nice nighttime atmosphere. Id give it a 3.7/5. read more

1111 is a gorgeous restaurant with a beautiful interior that makes it a great spot for a date night or girls date. They also offer complimentary valet which was nice for easy parking. I would say the atmosphere feels like when you first step in to Aritzia which to me is a good thing! My friend and I ordered the Matcha Lychee Martini, and it was actually really really good! definitely worth trying. We each got the Wagyu ribeye taco and the wings, both of which were absolutely delicious. I also ordered the tuna tostada but I was not a big fan of that and I did not finish it. The service wasn't as attentive as I expected. We had to flag our waitress down a few times. One thing I think could be communicated more clearly is the bill. Our check already included a pretty substantial gratuity, but the payment screen still prompted for an additional tip which our waitress gave me. She did not tell us the total bill before that. I had to ask to confirm that gratuity had already been added because it wasn't immediately obvious if I hadn't looked close enough. the cocktails and a few of the dishes made it worth the visit, but the service and billing experience has room for improvement. Drinks were okay, wouldn't say they're the best cocktails ever. Definitely there more for the vibes than anything. Our first waitress was so nice and sweet. The second one we had took forever (30 minutes+) to get us something simple as water to the point where we are already tired and wanted to go home. Still ended up charging us for it and when we asked to have it removed, she made a face and an unprofessional comment "you want a refund on water? Our manager is going to take a while to get to you". 1111 absolutely exceeded expectations. The atmosphere, service, and food were all A1 from start to finish. As an international chef, I'm honestly a pretty hard critic, so for a restaurant to get a true 10/10 from me is a big deal. Everything was so good we literally kept ordering doubles until the bill hit $450 -- and honestly, it was worth every dollar. The guacamole, ceviche, and Wagyu tacos were standout favorites, and the empanadas were incredible too. 1111 gave me such a wonderful experience. I popped in to see what the hype was about and they surpassed my expectations! Aston was my bartender and she made my cocktails to perfection. I had the matcha lychee martini and a passion fruit margarita. She was so knowledgeable about the process behind each ingredient and you could feel her enthusiasm for what she does. Loved it! Each item I ordered from the menu was exquisite, so flavorful and was presented beautifully. I had the red snapper ceviche, carnitas taco and empanadas--each was DELICIOUS! My friend always spoke so highly of this club, but when I finally went... omg, she was so wrong. It was full of kids who looked under 21 just wandering around, the drinks were overpriced and tasted awful, and the sound system was so bad it nearly blew my ears out. Definitely not worth it. This is a new place nearby that I have watch transform from a retail store into a beautiful and elegant cocktail bar. But upon coming up to the entrance, you can't help but notice the entire exterior wall to the bar was tile with glossy ceramic green tile. You can't help but get excited to see what the inside will look like if the exterior looks like this. Once we entered the establishment, we are greeted by smiling hostesses dressed in the same elegant slim form fitting dressed and shown to our table. Please note that this concept is more of a bar or lounge and therefore, the tables and chairs are a bit lower than most restaurant seatings. And most of the seatings has a sofa or couch feel to it which gives me a more relaxing feel and experience. Once seated, Vanessa introduced herself as the one who will be attending to us. Vanessa, much like the hostesses, was also elegantly dressed beyond how most waitresses are dressed. She was even wearing heels, which is very usual, but it shows how much this place pays attention to every detail of this place and the impression they are trying to project. But beside from her refine appearance, she was very professional and attentive. And everything came out very fast, even the drinks. Because I do not drink, I ordered a mocktail since this is a cocktail bar. And to be honest, their drinks are meant to be photograph. Every mocktail I ordered ended up being pink. So, for all the ladies that do not drink but want a nice photo for the gram, this place will not disappoint. But this is another reason I waited before coming here because when they first open, they did not serve food. Now that they have a food menu, I decided that it was time to come and explore. And to my surprise, the food did not disappoint. But the selection is limited. I am assuming that this allows the food to be fresh because it definitely was. We basically tried everything on the menu expect for the seabass and that was because we were actually getting full. Tuna tostada was delicious but it's because I love yellowtail and the fact that it was freshly made, made it more enjoyable to eat. The wings were lightly fried so it wasn't greasy like most fried food and had a little kick to it due to the spice, but the pineapple sweetness helped balance it out. But who doesn't like pineapple? Then there are the empanadas that tasted so great that we order a second of that entree. Some empanadas' shell in the past is thick to help keep the inside ingredients moist and to prevent it from falling part and because of that, I always get a mouth full of the shell making me fill like I have a mouth full of pie crust. But this was not the case. The balance of the empanadas was perfect and having shrimps inside elevated the flavor even more. We also tried all three tacos, the carnitas, ribeye and the carne asada. All of them were delicious but my favorite was the ribeye. And like all Mexican restaurant, the tortillas came separately and in the warmer so you will have to make your own tacos. Very authentic I must say for a cocktail bar. I understand that most people will come here to enjoy the wide selection of special cocktails they have and not for the food, but I strongly suggest that everyone should try a dish or two and see for yourself that the food is as good as their drinks. read more

Randomly decided to try out this beautiful cocktail bar. Upon arrival was immediately greeted by the lovely host who was able to accommodate me and my party for being a walk in at the bar. After being seated it did take a while for the bartender to greet us but they had just opened so I gave some grace. Started with the spicy watermelon basil margarita. Very refreshing and well balanced. After I had the 1111 margarita. Be careful with the foam on top being very tart. But overall solid margarita. Next up was the Spanish gin and tonic. This was my favorite. You couldn't even taste the gin plus it was garnished beautifully. My friend decided to try the roasted coffee old fashioned. He stated it was a good balance not to coffee forward. He also had the espresso martini. We have had better espresso martinis. I did appreciate the staff knowledge of each cocktail. Manager stopped by and was very friendly and gave us a little background story of the restaurant. I'm definitely adding this to one of my new cocktail go to bars. read more

Got to experience 1111 and it already feels like another concept that's going to be a homerun for Houston. It brings something different to the city in a really intentional way. The space itself is beautiful and incredibly vibey -- very well done from top to bottom. Perfect for a date night or a small group to spend the evening. You can also tell this is going to be a really fun weekend spot with great energy once it fully ramps up. Kind of like a more intimate version of Melrose. The waitstaff did a great job taking care of us all night. Food-wise, everything we had was flavorful and well executed. The pricing is definitely on the higher side relative to portion sizes, but the quality and flavor helped justify it. What really impressed me away though were the drinks. We did a few rounds and every cocktail delivered. The level of intention, quality, and care behind each drink was seriously impressive, especially in a lounge setting where maintaining that consistency at volume is hard to do. Excited to see how this place evolves because it has the potential to become one of the standout spots in the city. After an exorbitant $20 valet, I was surprised to learn our table wasn't available at the time of my reservation (they enforce a maximum dining time). I was offered a bar seat for dining, but we opted to wait 20 mins for the table to open up. After 30 mins, we were given 2 options: take a table that we'd have to vacate in 30 mins, or continue waiting. We decided to just eat at the bar. To be fair, food and drink were good. Cocktails are unique (expected, at $17). They automatically add 20% gratuity and slyly try to get you to tip on top of that. The staff offered us complimentary shot vouchers (seriously?) at Melrose for our troubles. The staff is young and has a bit of attitude. Went on a weekday at 5pm and asked the host if there was happy hour, she said no. I ordered a drink and asked for it to not be spicy and she said "no modifications allowed" and then told me the salt is spicy. I asked for no salt and she stated again "no modifications allowed" which seems absolutely ridiculous that they couldn't make a cocktail without salt. There are only 9 people in the bar at this time, it was not busy. The bill came and the drinks were discounted, meaning there was happy hour. 20% gratuity is automatically added.
