This reminds me of a more upscale college bar with great cocktail specials and roomy booths! Apparently, dogs are welcome indoors, too. The patio is spacious and there's plenty of parking in the adjacent parking lot. The fact that they have happy hour on Saturdays until 7pm makes them an instant winner in my book -- the espresso martini was delightful and the frozen paloma was refreshing. The bartenders were attentive and nice, too! :)

I stopped here for a quick drink & bite before going elsewhere for the FIFA watch game. Had a beer and these ravioli as appetizer (reminded me of the Zios ones they used to have). Bartenders were nice and I loved the dark-grunge vibe on the inside. Will return soon

Stopped into this bar after brunch with my friends for my birthday. We had a great time. The vibe was great. The decorations inside are so nice and our bartender was phenomenal. It was my birthday, so the bartender asked what kind of shot I want to and my friend and I were like something fruity but cool. So he made up a drink that tasted like a starburst and also a cute little show by setting it on fire and sprinting. It was something that gave it a nice little toasted smell and taste. We liked it so much that the whole group ended up getting an order of them as well. We will definitely be stopping in again next time we're in the area.

We stopped into Jethro's Cocktail Lounge while we were out at the Vintage Community Market hosted by Faculty Club Never, and it ended up being one of those places you're so glad you randomly walked into. First, the vibe. It is warm, stylish, and very Montrose in the best way. It feels elevated but still relaxed enough to just sit, talk, and enjoy your time without feeling rushed. We came during happy hour and it was such a great deal. I ordered the Sweet Like Peach Tree, which was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with the peach and ginger. My husband got the Frozen Paloma and it was just as good, super smooth with the right citrus bite. We also shared the churros and they were honestly a must order. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and that kind of service is hard to find. He also told us about their upcoming two year anniversary party on May 3rd with rotating live DJs, which sounds like it will be such a fun time. We will definitely be back. Between the drinks, the atmosphere, and the service, this place really gets it right.

Cool casual bar/ lounge/chill vibe. Dark, low light. Loud R&B music playing. Seating options are: Bar, bar high top, booth, couch & outdoor patio seating. Cocktails are unique and quite good. No smoke- loved the coconut in this. Actually a little sweet, a very tasty enjoyable cocktail. Yardy know - like a variation of a margarita. It's good. Well balanced. Not your dad's old fashion - it definitely tastes like an old fashion. The hibiscus is just an addition to the old fashion flavor profile. Matcha ma call it - would nvr have ordered this but someone bought it for me. I've never had matcha tea before so I can't compare but this drink was surprisingly just a tasty cocktail. I don't even like mint & I enjoyed the drink. I like the vibe of this spot. I popped in for pre-dinner drinks so I didn't eat. But the owner told me his smash burger was voted best in Houston. I'll have to come back & try it. Before 7pm, smash burger & fries are $7 everyday!

A fantastic, little neighborhood bar with free parking. Staff is welcoming and if you're lucky enough to get Manny at the bar he can mix up any cocktail you want... even the off menu classics! I had the HH chocolate old fashioned and then off menu Paper plane, loved them both. Tried the $7 burger & fries before 7p and... wow! Burger was well seasoned, great sauce, and the bun is excellent. The fries- hot, crisp, perfectly salted! This is a small bar, so be mindful. It's not another large, mega bar. The vibe is cozy, welcoming neighbor. I loved it and can't wait to come back!

Absolutely love the vibe, the hipster decor, the music and the drinks are phenomenal. Dropped in before valentines dinner and didn't want to leave. Their house Old Fashioned is a great twist to the classic cocktail. I'm a Mezcal fan and the two on the menu worked for me. The bartenders make you feel welcome and offer an explanation for anything you are contemplating. They have an inviting patio which offers a great open air experience. Parking might be a challenge if not lucky enough to find a spot on premise. Overall, Jethro's is worth going out of your way to experience.

Review #300! Jethro's gets the honor. A great neighborhood cocktail spot that's great for a date night or just a night out with friends. Parking is available in the small lot directly in front, the lot across the street, or along the surrounding streets. I've never had issues finding parking between these three options. Before 7pm every day, they offer a $7 special for burger and fries. It's a smashburger and is surprisingly decent for a $7 combo with fries, at a cocktail bar! I've told myself that I'm keeping this option in my back pocket for evenings that I feel too lazy to make my own food. Heck, that's even cheaper than fast food in today's world. The cocktails here are all great. The Cafe Con Ron is their version of an espresso martini and I've liked it. The Not Your Dad's Old Fashioned is their version of an OF with a bit of sweetness to it due to the whiskey being infused with hibiscus. Honestly not totally my jam so they were able to make me a Buffalo Trace old fashioned and I liked that a lot. The wine selection is also decent - on a night I wasn't feeling cocktails, I got a glass of their house red wine and had no complaints with it! The staff here has been friendly on all of my visits. Manny especially provides top notch service with a smile - I try to look for him to make my drinks whenever I come. Ask for him too - he's extremely nice! I have come here for Drag Bingo night (one Wednesday a month) and it is so much fun. Persephone is an excellent host and provides the best entertainment with prizes for the winners from the bar. Jethro's is a great spot to come chill with friends or a date over cocktails in a dark intimate setting. I'll surely be back often and while I love their $7 burger special, need to branch out one of these days to try other food items on their menu.

We came late on a Friday night, found street parking immediately, and were able to sit in a booth of our choice without waiting. I was surprised this place wasn't packed given all the recent social media hype about it, but wasn't mad about being able to hear friends across the table. There was a live dj that night, the drinks were made quickly at the bar, and I enjoyed the overall vibe. We got the No Smoke (smokiness added from the mezcal) and Not your dad's old fashioned (strong). I also appreciated the pricing. Specialty cocktails cost money to make but the recent spike in cocktail pricing when the output does not necessarily meet the input has been too damn high in Houston! So shoutout to Jethro's for understanding what market price means and delivering on it. Will be back!

Saw online that they were decorated for spooky season and couldn't wait to give it a try. Went for happy hour with coworkers and absolutely loved it! The decor was fab, the drinks were great, and the burger was deeeeelicious! I ordered the Sweet like Peach Tea and the Matcha-Ma-Call-It. Both so so good! Friend ordered the margarita and said it was nice and strong. We both ordered the $7 burgers before $7. The fries and burger were so good, I'm still thinking about them. The icing on the cake was the tarot card reader! We were about to leave when my friend pointed out the tarot card reader. Had an interesting $20 mini read. Great experience at Jethro's!

The frozen carajillo was good at first but got worse as I kept drinking, very bitter. The burger and fries was great though, and a very good happy hour deal.

love jethro's down! every time i visit, it's a great time! this is an exceptional craft cocktail bar. for the meat eaters, they have a burger and fries for $7 before 7p. their happy hour is also decent. there is parking in a free lot across the street. i would recommend giving jethro's a visit! bonné santé p.s. steer clear of the caesar salad... if you're a vegetarian just get the hummus or fries.

I have learned long ago, that preparation is key to a good event. So before we went to the C&I YEW (Yelp Elite Week), we hit up Jethro's for some food and libations. It was the right move, thanks to Justin T. Parking. It's a small lot, some assigned for specific businesses, but street parking all around make it easy. None of our folks had a difficult time finding a place. Facility. The have a god sized outdoor patio, and at 4/4:30, nobody had taken any spots. Inside, its a bit darker. Nice mood setting, and plenty of seating. God for an intimate gathering or a date night. Service. Our host was Felicia. She handled our group of around 10 with ease, and excellent service. Drinks and food came out fast, and were very good. There were others behind the bar managing the front end as well, but Felicia was our main point of contact. The goods GREAT! They have good happy hour specials. Some frozen, most on the rocks. I liked them all. Amongst the three I had I would rate them favorite to least: Tullamore Dew Irish Mule, Roku Gin Gimlet, Redemption Bourbon Chocolate Old Fashioned. During Happy hour they have a Smashburger and Fries for $7. The burger was good, and the fries were very good (Like McDonalds but not as expensive). Overall very good experience, and will definitely be back!

We were able to snag some free street parking and wandered our way into a cute setup with mood lighting and plenty of seating. There's a central bar and plenty of outdoor patio space. We were immediately helped as soon as we found a table which I really appreciated. The menu is HUGE and has anything you could possibly want. We're big red wine fans so we settled on that page. J opted for a cab while I decided on a couple to sample before ultimately choosing a red blend. I appreciate that they're more than happy to give you a taste before committing to a glass. You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! I appreciated how kind and accommodating the servers were as they frequently checked on us. This is a great spot to enjoy some wine with friends, on date night, or anything really! It has a relaxed atmosphere and is a pleasure to visit. Till next time!

We came in as an impromptu visit after an earlier event and figured we'd just stop in for a glass of wine or so. Upon walking in, the place is super cute with dim lighting and was quite crowded on a Thursday night. We didn't immediately find available seating, but after a couple minutes, a table opened up and we sat there. Our primary server was Grayson, who was super knowledgeable about the wine list. Other servers tended to us throughout the night, and all were equally as knowledgeable about the menu offerings. At the time we went, they were featuring various wines from Beaujolais. We ended up trying one of these, the Alexandre Burgaud Brouilly Rouge, which was a full-bodied red. This was a great recommendation, and I will say that we didn't conclude the visit on only one of these bottles... Based on Grayson's food recommendations, we ended up ordering the Mortadella panini and a combination charcuterie board. The Mortadella panini was unique but good - tomato, mortadella, provolone, and mustard all served on a pretzel bun. Probably not my dish of choice alongside wine, however I did really like the charcuterie board. We asked them to surprise us on the cheese and meat, and they really came through. The prosciutto was tasty and the cheese (can't remember which one) had a peppery flavor to it, which paired well with our red wine. The overall clientele vibe seemed like a range of date nights, girls nights, first dates, and solo drinkers. I love the diversity! We ended up making friends with the table next to us and eventually merged tables to make this a fun group date night. Definitely a highlight of the visit. We will definitely be back sooner than later. This is a cute neighborhood bar that I look forward to returning myself and brining out-of-town guests to come experience. They also have a dog-friendly patio - something to keep in mind whenever the day calls for drinking some wine in nice outdoor weather!

I experienced this side of the business during the early phase of the Covid pandemic back in 2020. At the time, during lockdown, going to a wine bar or wine shop just wasn't top of mind. However, I had researched a Cabernet Franc (red wine) called Nicolas Reau Enlèvement Demandé Anjou [Vintage year: 2017]. Reau is kind of a rebel working in the Loire Valley of France who is interested in producing organic, biodynamic wines that are essentially closer to nature and processed differently--more artisanal, so to speak. I read about this wine and wanted to find a bottle locally, which wasn't an easy task as I recall. This is where Vinology comes in. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but had to have a bottle of this excellent wine. Like many people, I preferred to stay indoors during the early part of the pandemic and was kind of nervous about going out. When I called Vinology, I expressed my dilemma, and the guy on the other end of the phone came up with a great solution. He offered to deliver the bottle of wine I purchased to my address. I actually met him at the edge of the garage entrance to where I live. This was great, exceptional above and beyond service. I will always treasure and remember Vinology and plan to support the business more in the future. Hats off to the folks who own and run this wine establishment.

I've had my fair share of Paulie's but never had the chance to come to Camerata...until now. I had been missing out for so long! We journeyed from white to red wines throughout the night. We started out with the Babylonstoren, a chenin blanc from South Africa. We then moved into pink (rose) with the Ana Beirut - a blend of cab sauv, syrah, and tempranillo grapes with a bit of skin contact to give the wine the pink color. Lastly we ordered the Guelbenzu - a red blend of tempranillo, cab sauv, syrah, and graciano. This full-bodied red was the absolute fan favorite of the table. Food options are on the light side: meat & cheese boards, bread, and small bites. We started out with the warm bread - while it's normally served with butter, there's an option to switch that out with olive oil & herbs which is what we did. We then went for the meat & cheese platter. We couldn't decide on which meats or cheeses, so we did the option of ordering all 8! This came with 4 delicious meats and 4 tasty cheeses (from Houston Dairymaids), also with crispy fava beans, olives, pickles, and bread. This was a good amount for our group of 4 to share. Elena was our server and she was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She vibed with us throughout the night and made sure that we were well-taken care of. I loved her energy along with her vast knowledge of wines. We got plenty of good recommendations from her during our time there. I'm super sad that Houston will be losing this gem permanently at the end of the year (and even more sad that I only discovered it in the last month of its existence). Parking is a bit difficult, but after a bit of circling we were able to find a spot and make our way in what looked like the back entrance. It was very low key, and despite the sign, the door seemed almost hidden in that back little corner. The staff seemed to have a bit of a hipster vibe-- not unexpected given the Montrose area-- but were very friendly. They offered suggestions, but let us go with what we wanted to try. There's a food menu along with the drinks, but we were heading to the restaurant next door, so we passed on grabbing food. We ended up going with a couple of glasses of red and a couple of the specialty chocolates. My wife loved her salted caramel chocolate. I enjoyed my peppermint chocolate. For the glasses of wine, I've got better at home for bottles the same price as those glasses. My wife really enjoyed the vibe, but even if this place wasn't about to close down, I'm not sure I'd be coming back here often. It's just too hard to park.
