    Not your dad's old fashioned
    Anokhy D.

We came late on a Friday night, found street parking immediately, and were able to sit in a booth of our choice without waiting. I was surprised this place wasn't packed given all the recent social media hype about it, but wasn't mad about being able to hear friends across the table. There was a live dj that night, the drinks were made quickly at the bar, and I enjoyed the overall vibe. We got the No Smoke (smokiness added from the mezcal) and Not your dad's old fashioned (strong). I also appreciated the pricing. Specialty cocktails cost money to make but the recent spike in cocktail pricing when the output does not necessarily meet the input has been too damn high in Houston! So shoutout to Jethro's for understanding what market price means and delivering on it. Will be back!

Absolutely love the vibe, the hipster decor, the music and the drinks are phenomenal. Dropped in before valentines dinner and didn't want to leave. Their house Old Fashioned is a great twist to the classic cocktail. I'm a Mezcal fan and the two on the menu worked for me. The bartenders make you feel welcome and offer an explanation for anything you are contemplating. They have an inviting patio which offers a great open air experience. Parking might be a challenge if not lucky enough to find a spot on premise. Overall, Jethro's is worth going out of your way to experience.

Review #300! Jethro's gets the honor. A great neighborhood cocktail spot that's great for a date night or just a night out with friends. Parking is available in the small lot directly in front, the lot across the street, or along the surrounding streets. I've never had issues finding parking between these three options. Before 7pm every day, they offer a $7 special for burger and fries. It's a smashburger and is surprisingly decent for a $7 combo with fries, at a cocktail bar! I've told myself that I'm keeping this option in my back pocket for evenings that I feel too lazy to make my own food. Heck, that's even cheaper than fast food in today's world. The cocktails here are all great. The Cafe Con Ron is their version of an espresso martini and I've liked it. The Not Your Dad's Old Fashioned is their version of an OF with a bit of sweetness to it due to the whiskey being infused with hibiscus. Honestly not totally my jam so they were able to make me a Buffalo Trace old fashioned and I liked that a lot. The wine selection is also decent - on a night I wasn't feeling cocktails, I got a glass of their house red wine and had no complaints with it! The staff here has been friendly on all of my visits. Manny especially provides top notch service with a smile - I try to look for him to make my drinks whenever I come. Ask for him too - he's extremely nice! I have come here for Drag Bingo night (one Wednesday a month) and it is so much fun. Persephone is an excellent host and provides the best entertainment with prizes for the winners from the bar. Jethro's is a great spot to come chill with friends or a date over cocktails in a dark intimate setting. I'll surely be back often and while I love their $7 burger special, need to branch out one of these days to try other food items on their menu.

A fantastic, little neighborhood bar with free parking. Staff is welcoming and if you're lucky enough to get Manny at the bar he can mix up any cocktail you want... even the off menu classics! I had the HH chocolate old fashioned and then off menu Paper plane, loved them both. Tried the $7 burger & fries before 7p and... wow! Burger was well seasoned, great sauce, and the bun is excellent. The fries- hot, crisp, perfectly salted! This is a small bar, so be mindful. It's not another large, mega bar. The vibe is cozy, welcoming neighbor. I loved it and can't wait to come back!

Saw online that they were decorated for spooky season and couldn't wait to give it a try. Went for happy hour with coworkers and absolutely loved it! The decor was fab, the drinks were great, and the burger was deeeeelicious! I ordered the Sweet like Peach Tea and the Matcha-Ma-Call-It. Both so so good! Friend ordered the margarita and said it was nice and strong. We both ordered the $7 burgers before $7. The fries and burger were so good, I'm still thinking about them. The icing on the cake was the tarot card reader! We were about to leave when my friend pointed out the tarot card reader. Had an interesting $20 mini read. Great experience at Jethro's!

love jethro's down! every time i visit, it's a great time! this is an exceptional craft cocktail bar. for the meat eaters, they have a burger and fries for $7 before 7p. their happy hour is also decent. there is parking in a free lot across the street. i would recommend giving jethro's a visit! bonné santé p.s. steer clear of the caesar salad... if you're a vegetarian just get the hummus or fries.

    Cheeseburger

I went to HH and you have to try the cheeseburger and fries! It's $7 on HH and more than worth it. The best is toasted and buttered, burger smashed to perfection, and the pickles are fresh (more cucumber than pickles). Now I did have to rate a 4 instead of a 5 because the drinks were just Ok. They do allow children till 6.

    Juan P.

Place was empty and chill very good to just stop in if it's not busy and grab some food or a drink. The burger was very fresh the only down part for me is this is probably the first smash burger I've had with way too many onions, layers of onions in between both patties and on top of the patties . I will probably order with no onions next time . Overall it was great .

I have learned long ago, that preparation is key to a good event. So before we went to the C&I YEW (Yelp Elite Week), we hit up Jethro's for some food and libations. It was the right move, thanks to Justin T. Parking. It's a small lot, some assigned for specific businesses, but street parking all around make it easy. None of our folks had a difficult time finding a place. Facility. The have a god sized outdoor patio, and at 4/4:30, nobody had taken any spots. Inside, its a bit darker. Nice mood setting, and plenty of seating. God for an intimate gathering or a date night. Service. Our host was Felicia. She handled our group of around 10 with ease, and excellent service. Drinks and food came out fast, and were very good. There were others behind the bar managing the front end as well, but Felicia was our main point of contact. The goods GREAT! They have good happy hour specials. Some frozen, most on the rocks. I liked them all. Amongst the three I had I would rate them favorite to least: Tullamore Dew Irish Mule, Roku Gin Gimlet, Redemption Bourbon Chocolate Old Fashioned. During Happy hour they have a Smashburger and Fries for $7. The burger was good, and the fries were very good (Like McDonalds but not as expensive). Overall very good experience, and will definitely be back!

Jethro's is such a cool spot to hang out. My friends and I came here after dinner in Montrose. Parking is a little annoying because majority is across the street in a fenced in area. The "lot" is literally just that with a grassy area. It can be hard to see what you're stepping on late nights, so use your phone flashlight. I love the indoor/outdoor concept as well as all the bowling decor. I come from a family of bowlers, so it was cool to see bowling pins and bowling ball lamps and trophies throughout. There's a couple TVs above the bar to watch the game. They were still doing college basketball at the time. The seating is intimate with the booths. It's darker inside than on the patio area. I would've loved to try some of their food, but we had just eaten. If you get there before 7 pm, they have a cool deal called "7 before 7" which includes a smashburger and fries. I enjoyed the mocktails which were a good price point of $10. I had the Watermelon Fresca and loved the fresh watermelon slice on top and tajin around the rim. The Perfect Tea was my favorite, though. I enjoyed the zero proof gin with the raspberry tea and lime juice. Overall, I would come back here with friends or a date night. I want those cheese curds!!!

Loved the vibe, the music, the food, and most importantly the Drinks! Drinks: (5/5) I had their twist on an Old Fashioned and it was amazing ! I had two lol . My best friend had the frozen Paloma and she was pleased as well! The price points were standard. Food: (5/5) This was such a surprise! Cocktail bars typically don't do that well with food, but that isn't what people go there for anyways. HOWEVER, Jethro's bites were SOOOO good! Freshly made and literally melt in your mouth good. No complaints at all ! This cocktail lounge has such a variety of seating options (inside and out).!

$7 before 7pm smash burger special

Very pleasant experience at Jethro's for my first time here! Their burger special is unbeatable $7 smash burger and fries before 7pm and it's delicious! Their mocktails and cocktails are just as good. I would definitely return. The bartenders are very nice and friendly and quick despite how busy it gets.

Weekday happy hours is just what is needed sometimes and Jethro's Cocktail Lounge does it just right! Came here with a crew right at opening. They have limited parking out front, a lot across the street as well as street parking. We all got street parking without any issues. There's a small patio out front, but we decided to hang out inside. Inside you have a lounge like area but mostly they have high top tables as well as bar seating. We set up shop at the bar and Felicia took care of us. She did an amazing job handling our crowd. Happy hour is what we came for and we partook in it all. What was supposed to be a one drink night turned into a few more. 8 bucks for a proper cocktail is a steal these days. I started of the Redemption Bourbon Chocolate Old Fashioned. This was a strong one but good. Tullamore Dew Irish Mule happened next. This was a really good drink. My Last drink was the Flor De Cana 12 Year Daquiri which was very good and my personal favorite. What I also heard about Jethro's is that they have a great burger deal and I had to try it. You get a Smashburger (my favorite style) and fries for 7 bucks before 7pm. That is a deal! It came out quick and you can tell it was freshly made. I shared as we had dinner plans after, but I wish I got one more myself. It was delicious. It came with fries that I thought would be an afterthought, but they were very good. My friend Jason D likened it to McDonalds fries and he hit the nail on the head with that comparison. You just can't go wrong with that kind of fry. A full burger meal and an expertly made cocktail for around 15 bucks is a steal considering that's what you would spend at most fast food joints these days. Overall, Jethro's has won me over and has shot up as one of my favorite happy hour spots. I will definitely be back!

Considering the recent shutter of other places (#2) within the hospitality umbrella, it's not too big of a surprise that Wooster's would also be in the crosshairs. The space was always a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating, which combined with its dedicated parking lot made this an easy drinking outlet for all kinds of occasions. The intimate indoor space was lovely and well ventilated, and it felt like there wasn't ever a moment where the bar wasn't slammed. The outdoor space was much of the same, with lots of tables and chairs, and even the trendy swing chairs facing the city. The only thing that was a little bit of a liability were those open flame heaters; it would only take on person to accidentally walk into one or trip onto it. For libations, the drinks were well priced, well made, and always potent. I appreciated the aesthetics, as well as the bartenders who made them. The only part that wasn't exciting was the limited food menu, which did its part as munchies for the drink heavy crowd, but was mediocre otherwise. The space is already undergoing the new facelift of a separate concept, one of which I hope will do the area justice, just as much as Wooster's did. ____________ (#1) The Kirby Group. (#2) R.I.P. It wears the posture of a dive but carries itself with intention, a little bohem, a little defiant, and entirely comfortable in its own skin. The bar hums with craft. Cocktails arrive balanced and deliberate, built by hands that understand restraint as much as flair. Nothing shouts. Nothing apologizes. Each glass feels considered, as though the bartender paused just long enough to ask what kind of night you were hoping to have, then answered without speaking. The staff moves easily, quick with wit and generous with attention, treating regulars and first-timers as if both had already earned their place. The decor tells its own quiet rebellion. Mismatched, layered, worn just enough to feel lived in, it carries the sense that stories have been told here and will be told again. And then there are the bathrooms, unisex and unashamed, their walls papered with vintage Playboy centerfolds that celebrate the female form not as spectacle but as art. Tasteful, sexy, unapologetic. A reminder that admiration can exist without crudeness, that beauty does not need permission to be acknowledged. The Two Headed Dog is less a bar than a posture toward the world. It resists neat categories. Not quite dive, not quite cocktail lounge, not quite anything else that could be reduced to a label. It is a place for those who appreciate craft without pretension, sensuality without excess, and atmosphere without artifice. In a city that thrives on reinvention, this bar stands firm, confident enough to be exactly what it is and nothing more.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. It looks like the drink that I ordered is also no longer on the menu. The bar prides itself on having a rotating meal changing menu so I think that's a lot of fun when it comes to trying new drinks and new combinations and it truly shows the artistry of the bartender. There was the option of both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior was more of a dimmer, elegant and darker tone. I can see it being pretty classic if you were to go at night time. The bar set up was really beautiful and they had different 2 to 4 seating wooden tables. Overall, the inside would probably only fit around 20 people. I was very sad because we couldn't sit outside. Service (3/5): While we had a waitress, she was slow to greet us and slow to check up on us. It's a small bar and there isn't a ton of seating so it's not like she was overwhelmed. For a fancy hotel, you expect better. Maybe sitting at the bar is better than sitting at some seats as we did. Ambiance (4/5): The Colombe d'Or is a beautiful hotel and Bar No. 3 reflects that. It's an elegant spot to grab a drink, although small. Food (N/A): While there are expensive items on the menu, I had dinner earlier that night so I was on a liquid diet. I enjoyed my adult beverage but felt like it was a bit overpriced. Hitting up hotel bars isn't a common occurrence in Houston unless you're a traveler. For Bar No. 3 to be the only hotel bar on Houstonia's top 50 is a feat in itself.

We stopped by Social Beer Garden HTX for St. Patrick's Day and had a really good time. We went in…read morethe early afternoon, and the atmosphere was already lively without being overly crowded, which made it easy to relax and enjoy everything. The ambiance was great for the holiday they had themed drinks and specials going on, which added a fun touch and made it feel festive without being chaotic. Definitely a solid spot if you're looking for somewhere social but still comfortable. The drinks were good, and overall the vibe was on point. It felt like a place you could hang out for a while, whether you're there to celebrate something or just have a few drinks with friends. One thing to note is they don't serve food, I did hear they rotate food trucks at times, but none were there when we went which was a bit of a downside, but they did allow us to bring in outside food, which honestly made up for it and gave us more options. Parking wasn't too bad when we went, and since it wasn't super packed, everything felt smooth and easy. Overall, great vibes, good drinks, and a fun place. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a casual hangout or social night out.
