There aren't many great options to stay driving through West Texas, but this place is on a whole other level. Such a cute, clean, and welcoming spot after a long day. Definitely an older building, but the sweet owners keep everything so clean and up to date. The mini fridge and microwave were so appreciated. There's an itty bitty playground out front for the kids (and me hehe) and an astounding amount of plants they're growing around back, so I'd also recommend taking a walk around the property and checking out all the cool stuff! read more

There are 12 rooms. The rooms open out toward the main house where Dave and his wife live. Dave comes around to ensure you are comfortable and doing well. His friendly demeanor and his charm make you feel welcomed. He honors your story as he shares his own. A USMC Vietnam veteran, he wields peace and joy with each tale. Our room had two comfortable full size beds, homey blankets and covers, a fridge and microwave. There is wear...but so much love. SLOW down. The nicest couple I've ever met owns this place. It's well kept, remodeled, and we slept so good. We wish we had more time there because the bathroom was great and it had such a sweet country cabin feel. Check out is at 11am and be sure to get up early so you get coffee. There's only 11 rooms and it seems they do book pretty quickly. We were lucky to book the last one the same day in the afternoon. Lucky us! It's a small complex, with only 11 rooms, for obvious reasons. :) It's old, but well-maintained. My family and I stayed one night here and overall fit our needs for our short stay. Very comfortable! The owner who checked us in was genuinely kind and helpful. She gladly gave us suggestions for restaurants in the area. Atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. The local pets are precious! We had a couple dogs come greet us around our inn. Our room was clean and stocked with enough towels and extra blankets. They had benches outside of each room that were old bus seats, very cute way to upcycle! Wifi was free and worked adequately. I would definitely come back. read more

Love this place! It is family owned and you can tell you're in a small Texas town because they so are friendly and personable! We stopped here from a cross country road trip after a bad winter storm came in and made the roads icy and dangerous. They were not even going to be open during this night because they were going on a trip the next morning but decided to open the motel for the travelers to keep safe. How thoughtful is that! Seriously, they are super friendly. A HUGE PLUS is they allowed dogs and we had two that were with us on the trip. Its has eleven rooms (hence the name) and the parking is right in front of ur door so u can keep an eye on ur car even though there is no need to. The outside is well lit and this place is super cute. Not a five star hotel with huge flat screen and all the bells and whistles but its great either way. The small tv has HBO and Showtime and theres a small fridge and microwave. I will warn, however, that there is no stink vent in the bathroom so if ur staying with ur stinky brother like me id recommend bringing some air freshener. The beds are cozy, theres a cute rocking chair in the room, and a desk, a bench, and a small closet. I 100% recommend this place. Its quaint, family owned, and friendly. How on earth did I miss doing a review for this place? Karen, one of the owners is the biggest sweetheart on earth... Someone had dumped a dog there at the hotel and when I met the big boy I fell in love! Problem is I had to go to Arizona to take my daughter to college but I promised to pick him up on the way back. When I was coming back through town Karen had our room ready for us and didn't charge us because we were giving the dog a home... How Charitable is that? And on top of that in the room there was a leash, a collar and some flea shampoo for us to use the next morning before we hit the road. Well enough about my story... The Eleven Inn is charming little roadside hotel and a perfect place to stay when you're out west especially if you're going to Balmorhea Springs! Down to earth places like this just make me happy. Dave was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Perfect cozy spot near the springs, we loved our stay.

My expectations weren't high, when I checked in and the innkeeper/owner reeked of smoke. My favorite line from our conversation (in a smokey "I'm going to die of cancer soon" voice) was, "All my rooms are non-smokin'." I took a leap of faith, and was pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean, smoke free and the window A/C blew nice and cold. The place is only 4 miles from the state park which is also very cool! Inside the rooms is vintage furniture in really nice condition. A must visit if you're in town for the state park. I would definitely stay there again. read more

First of all, this is a REALLY cute little town, with hotel names like "Eleven Inn" [11N] and "El Oso Flojo" [The Flowing Bear]. The Eleven Inn will really let you fly with $50.84 rooms (including tax) which include a queen-sized bed, a little nook with an Ikea chair, a Sylvania 15" TV with remote control, and one of those gas heater in the wall things. If you can't get it to work: the ignition doesn't work: just use a lighter. It GETS REALLY HOT. There is a big problem here though. You walk in and they have one of those fucking stinky shit ass glade plug in shoots perfume stink all over everything so make sure and unplug it and fan it out. The brass headboard is nice. There are some Mexicans outside drinking beer and doing a fire. Very cute. If you come in late, you can ring the bell and a little Peter Pan-style shirtless boy will come out and tell you to hold on while he goes to get his grandma the innkeeper to help you check in. Wonderful motel! I stayed here with my sister on a cross-country roadtrip. Of all the places we stayed between LA and NYC, this was easily the best value for the money. Charming rooms with attractive furniture and cute bedspreads. A welcome break from bland chain motels, at the best prices around. Very clean. And Texas hospitality! I lost my eyeglasses in the room and when I called a week later, the staff were so kind and helpful. They found my glasses and mailed them to me immediately. What wonderful people! read more

I'm in my room here at the "Eleven Inn" as I write this. I'm driving from South Lake Tahoe to Austin solo. Drove from Phoenix today only stopping for cash, gas, and sonic. Long day. I have had limited cell service all day and still do so I had my mother hunt me down a room. She found the 11inn. Wasn't quite sure at first but it wasn't long. got here and they were not on the property. I walked in and found a brochure and the key to my room on the desk with a note saying "son- we'll talk later- Karen". Cool, right? walked out of the door and they were pulling up. These are two awesome people! Their pup Sam is quite a guy too! Introductions were made and I made it to my room. Balmorhea was the first stop of my birthday road trip this year, I was there to dive the pool, which is amazingly beautiful by the way! This is a quaint and comfortable little in and Karen and David, the inn keepers, are charming, warm people. They also steered me off of the beaten path for my drive up to Albuquerque which, took me through the Guadalupe Mountains! This route up hwy 54 offered up some of the most amazing scenery and natural beauty! This place is great! The staff was very nice and did a great job of making me feel at home. I loved being able to sit by the fire with my lady and look out at the night sky. Good times. Place encourages interaction among guests as there are chairs and benches outside each of the the side by side motel rooms. Small fenced courtyard snuggled between main office and the inn's rooms gives it a safe, comfy feel. There is a fire ring perfect around which to congregate with fellow travelers and drink adult beverages. chopped wood, lighter, and lighter fluid along with tiki lanterns and a Coke machine are in the small shed for use. We had an a amazing experience at the Eleven Inn! The room was clean and David the owner was so friendly. It was a peaceful spot and we enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a couple of beers. We were going to stay in Fort Stockton, but after seeing the positive reviews for Eleven, we wanted try it for a more unique experience. There are a couple of spots to eat at in town, though some close early. It was a great stay and we would absolutely stay there again. read more

Enjoyed our stay in this 1940s tourist motor court with updates. Tin work mirror and light switches were a nice touch with some well used antique furniture. Good WiFi. If it hadn't been so hot the porch would have been a great place to spend some time. Owners were both great to talk to. read more

Every time we go to Balmorhea - whether it's the lake or the park, we always stay here. They are incredibly friendly and people oriented. If you have any issues, take them to the front desk and they'll jump through hoops to make sure you're happy. Visa/MC or cash only. No Amex - which was the only disappointment to me since it is my card of choice. read more

4/28/2016, I'm updating my review of this inn. Unbelievable service! My son left his book behind in the room and to our surprise, it was shipped back to us! The owner was so kind and their service gives you hope for human beings. Charming and welcoming. There is a merry go round and 4-seater see saw in the open play ground. There's a fire at night where you can see stars and guests chat about their trips. It's a gem in the desert. The rooms are clean with personal touches. The jasmine was planted in front of some rooms and the fragrance filled the air... This is our inn to stay when we come back in the future. read more

Okay, it was Labor Day weekend, Saturday night, and it didn't occur to us that there would be no rooms available. We made a bunch of calls and we called Eleven Inn and David said he was all booked. Well 5 minutes later he called me back and said he checked with his wife Karen and they had 1 room, if we wanted it just come on over, no need for a Credit card to hold it. As nice as can be. Well, we headed there, got there around 6 pm and he was waiting for us. Super nice room, very clean, nice newly redone bathroom. A super find and the nicest couple you ever want to meet. Granted not a fancy motel but the people that own and run it are wonderful. The decor is retro old west and well done. There are many horrible places in west Texas when it comes to accommodations as I travel through often and finally I found this place. Its usually about 20 miles out of the way from my trips to Dallas but its convenient if you are going south on I 10 but either way, I highly recommend Eleven Inn and they are dog friendly! read more

The location was great and the grounds were inviting and relaxing. I stayed a night at the Eleven Inn so I could photograph wildlife in and around town. The owners are extremely friendly, the rooms are very quaint and comfortable. This is an older motel and I loved the feel of it. Everything isn't perfect and to me, I loved it. I stayed in room 8 with 1 queen bed. Room as just right size for me and would work just fine for my wife and I. First time I have ever had price quoted include tax! I felt it as a great price for the quality of the room. I stayed here many years ago. My scuba club came to dive at the park. I hate camping with wet scuba equipment that's gonna stink the next morning and is still gonna be cold and wet. The first night I slept in the pickup truck and was eaten up by mosquitoes and drenched in sweat. I had my dive buddy take me into town the next night. No one was at the desk. I ring the bell. A grizzled old guy who looks like a former Marine drill sergeant with a stub of a cigar in the side of his mouth comes out, says "Yeah, what do you want?" "I think I want a room??" I say hesitantly. He says, "You know this is the crappiest motel in Texas." "No, i didn't" "Yeah, a lot of drug smugglers stay here. A lot of Texas Highway Patrol too." Just great, I think. I'm gonna get caught in the middle of a shoot out. Nice neighborhood [dripping sarcasm]. So he shows me a room. It's clean, I mean like military clean. The AC barely works. The linoleum is worn out down to the concrete at the door and going into the bathroom. At least there are no mosquitoes. So I get the room for the night. It was comfortable enough. It was cheap. The next morning, about zero three hundred hours (3am), it's still very dark and a rooster starts sounding off and won't shut up. It wasn't the most pleasant stay, but it made a good story. To be fair, that was several years ago and it sounds like things have changed since then. Maybe new ownership & management. read more

Loved this place and the people who own it! This is an old fashioned motor lodge kind of place with 11 large rooms. The owners are remodeling it and our unit #10 had a wonderful Mexican tile floor, the best bathtub ever. No food but a great place to stay. Don't be put off by first appearances.
