There was no review of the multi-point inspection when I checked out. Based on my previous experience at a Nissan dealership, I assumed if there were any issues that needed attention I would be informed while I was waiting on the car (1 1/2 hours for an oil change/tire rotation), or they would be pointed out before I left with a suggested timeframe to consider for addressing them. I was quite surprised to see a couple of things on the inspection (air filter, brakes [!}) that need attention. There are many other options for an oil change and tire rotation. Since I received only the basic service at Zeigler, I can go other less pricey places to have that work done. I sent an email to expressing my thoughts about the experience at Zeigler more than a week ago, but have not received a reply. At this point I do not plan to return to Zeigler for service. I have an extended warranty, so if necessary, I will go to a different dealership! read more

My 2013 Nissan Juke is my baby and I have taken very good care of it through the years because I know she cannot be replaced as Nissan does not make Jukes anymore. She enjoys her Sunday's at Oval Beach and her rides around the Michigan west coast countryside. I even stopped going to a mechanic a while back because he disrespected her and called her a "Nissan Junk" and it was not a mispronounciation. Since she cannot speak for herself, she definitely needs an advocate. When her check engine light came on I told my husband I wanted OEM parts and a dealer to take care of this one instead of our regular mechanic because I was under the assumption that dealer service was equivalent to quality and integrity. I am not saying our current mechanic is not equivalent to quality and integrity - he is. I just wanted her in the hands of top tier Nissan authorized repair dealers so that she will enjoy many more sunsets at Oval Beach. My call to make the appointment was smooth. Walter was very friendly and seemed quite knowledgable about the service process. I told him about the issue and that I would like an oil change and transmission service. He put me on the books very quick and that made me happy and gave me peace of mind. We went to drop the car off a couple of days later. Service rep (SR) was not the warmest and welcoming of service reps. She said she would call us with an estimate after they had a chance to look at the car. We left without signing anything and with no paperwork. Well I didn't get a call, I got a text. The text "estimate" looked like it was from a 10 year old that just got their first iPhone. So, I kindly (because their slogan states "Elhart Cares | be nice,") asked her to put the estimate in writing and send it to my email address. Silly me, I thought that the estimate would be more professional, like my regular mechanic would do. You know, a breakdown of parts, labor, time of labor, all of that silly stuff required by state law. Something someone would probably want to analyze prior to consenting for $4200 in repair work. Something someone would expect when paying for top shelf service. I pretty much received the same gibberish in an email without parts/labor/labor time breakdown. I kindly reply to SR (trying not to lose my patience) if I could get a formal estimate with a parts & labor breakdown. SR's reply: "Let me see what I can do we don't have a fancy system lol" UmK, every mechanic I have ever been to has a "fancy system" that gives formal estimates in writing and breaks it down into parts/labor/labor time. I did eventually receive an estimate with parts and labor breakdown but no labor hours. We decided to pick up the car the next day. We have lost faith that if their pre-flight checklist cannot be completed in a professional manner, within the boundaries of the law, we are question the competency of the service to be performed. Upon arrival, they took it upon themselves to do the work I requested (transmission service, diagnostics and oil change.) SR was INSISTING that my husband verbally consented to the work. I was there when we dropped it off and SR said she would call with the estimate when they had time to look at the car. We did not sign anything nor did we receive a copy. My husband begrudgingly paid the $438 bill of unauthorized work. I requested copies of all paperwork and to talk to a Manager. They overcharged by $136 on their estimate for the oil change and transmission service (which we never received until I insisted on reviewing paperwork) of unauthorized repairs they did perform and it took Manager over 20 minutes to offer me the refund after I called them out on the overcharge. read more

Two weeks ago made an appointment for service . They called the day before appointment and said they were "at capacity" and had to reschedule. It's evident they don't care about their customers. I took my Titan to Gurley Leep instead. read more

Service department is a joke. Tried charging my mother $600 for a blower fan motor. I got the part at a local store for $79 and replaced it myself in an hour. They have tried repairing her low tire pressure warning on the dash several times to no avail. Also seems like every time she brings it in for an issue, something new mysteriously pops up a couple of days later. Avoid this place if you like having money or good repairs. read more

6 days agoNEW-Edit I phoned early day before coming out to dealership to look at a 2019 used Maxima. I dealt with sales person, Ben Comai, who was pleasant on phone. I drove 2.5 hrs to dealership to see this vehicle I was interested in. When I arrived the following afternoon, the vehicle was filthy. The inside of the car reeked of smoke and there were dirty shoe marks all over driver's door, @ speaker from others pushing it open. The car needed vacuuming and cleaning inside. The outside of vehicle was simply hosed down and never wiped because it was covered in dirty water streaks. When I opened the trunk, there was someone's personal belongings (dirty clothing, and personal hygiene products). Wow! I was shocked! The dealership had 24hrs to clean up this car and make it look presentable. What a waste of time on my day off! Shame on Elhart Nissan! It's no wonder you have not been able to sell this car in 6 months. On a positive note, Ben Comai-sales person, was enjoyable to meet and speak with, but should have made sure that car was clean and presentable. read more

We recently purchased a vehicle from Jeff Schaap at Elhart Kia. It was the smoothest process I've ever experienced. He is a knowledgeable and honest man. I would deal with him again anytime. He told us he would have a dent removed and when we picked it up, the repair was beautiful. They have a very talented body shop man. Mike in finance processed things quickly and was not pushy. We are grateful we drove the extra miles to deal with them! read more
